Dalila frolicked in the grasses quite close to where a few of her siblings were playing. Dust shimmered off of her light wings and sparkled in the sun as it twinkled through passing rain clouds. It was midday and all morning the rain had been falling keeping he from playing.

She giggled and romped in the warmth of the day, her light blue paws sticking in the mud and reminding her of a million instances and at the same time band new. She loved the world and everything inside of it making everything exciting and worth watching. She fluttered her wings to knock more sparkling dust to the earth and giggled again, leaving apart of her behind, like a memory.

The first time around, Mtima had only had two cubs. They had been a pawful by themselves, owing largely to the fact that Kilango was so difficult and dangerous. It wasn't long until she had been left with only one cub, and Wahabu gave her little to no trouble. Now she was a very proud mother of six, nobody was dangerous but everybody was busy! She didn't know how to keep track of them all, and was thankful she was naturally able to find any of them if they wandered too far. They were all wonderful cubs, and for that she was very grateful. She still had not informed Wahabu of his half-siblings, and so far had not made much mention of him to them either. She wasn't sure how to tell them.

But she didn't have to worry about that! While keeping an eye on things and letting them all play, she noticed Dalila off by herself. She looked cheerful enough, but it couldn't hurt to go and see what she was up to. So the goddess got up and followed after her pale daughter.

"Dalila'abadi," she called in a mock-scolding voice, smiling, "What are you doing all the way out here?"

Dalila'abadi jumped startled by her mother's words she was lost in her own little world of cubhood playing and it was so very easy to get lost in a world of your own imagination. "Mommy!" She beamed and turned towards her beautiful and wonderful mother.

"Playing in the mud and earth," she grinned toothily and wondered if things inspired memory within her mother like they did with her sometimes. Did Mtima'safi have many memories of the earth and mud? Did she romp and play just like her daughter? Dalila wondered curiously about the fantastic goddess that she called mom.

"Am I in trouble?" she asked mimicking Mtima's mocking tone.

"In trouble? I don't know about that," Mtima said thoughtfully, laughing quietly at Dali's reaction to her coming out to join her, "Are you being kind to the earth?" It might have seemed a ridiculous question, but she knew the earth was important. She also associated it with her dear friend, Boma, who had had the misfortune of being trapped for so long beneath it's surface. She might use such a story as a joke with her cubs but she knew it could happen.

"I think you're just fine," she said with a smile.

"The earth can feel?" she questioned looking at her mother skeptically, "I might have stomped a little too hard.." she lifted her paws and looked at them curiously. Dalila tilted her head and pondered this, did it hurt to be walked on all of the time?

"Mama," Dalila started and her mind whirled with questions, where did rain come from? Did someone ask for it? And if they did how did the rain know where to go? Did the earth request rain..? "Is there a god of the earth? Does the earth god like it when it rains? I bet it tickles."

"Perhaps not in the same way that you or I feel," she said with a shrug, "I do not know enough about the earth, it is much too far from my domain. I'm sure there must be a god of the earth, though I have never met them. I have heard of a swamp goddess, and have met the mineral goddess." She thought about how to best describe it to the little one, wondering just how much sense 'mineral' made to her.

"I'd bet Earth likes the rain, have you noticed how nice everything smells and feels after the rain?" she asked.

"A swamp goddess would be interesting," a mucky mud pile came to mind and she giggled thinking of something like that, certainly a goddess would look more like a lion than a mud pile! "I hope that it doesn't hurt the earth to stomp around, I would never want my feet to touch the ground!" Minerals were not something Dalila knew anything about the swamp and earth seemed more exciting.

"Have you met many gods?" Dalila'abadi wondered aloud, "besides all of us!" she giggled again.

"She has a whole pride of lions that worship her," Mtima said with a small laugh when Dali commented on the swamp goddess. It was one that Mtima had never seen for herself but trusted the existence of based on the pride she knew her grandchildren resided in. "The earth is very large and strong, I'm sure it doesn't mind letting us walk." It was sweet of the little one to worry, though.

"Hmm! How many gods have I met?" she repeated thoughtfully, deciding to leave out her brothers. Wherever, however they had been reborn, it was unknown to her, "I have met the god of Reflection, a good friend of a friend of mine. And I have met the god of Pride, he helped me a great deal once in the past. The goddess of Minerals I would consider a very dear friend of mine." She trailed off here, having not run into so many other gods in her recent history.

"I hope not," She feigned a shiver of fear, the motion causing dust to float off of her wings to the ground. "There's an awful lot of earth and not very much of me!" She giggled and teetered on her paws.

"Reflection, like in the watering hole?" She inquired wrinkling her nose. "That doesn't seem like a very powerful domain." Anyone could glamor, there for anyone could mimic the looks of another, what powers could a mirror god have? If you splashed would he disappear?

"Do you think I will meet many gods in this lifetime? Maybe the Earth god?"

PostPosted: Wed Oct 21, 2009 5:14 pm

"Reflection more like thinking, not the reflection you have in water," Mtima corrected, though she was smiling, "I don't think you should necessarily rank gods by power, everybody has their own powers and uses them or doesn't of their own will. Everybody has a job, a reason for being. But everybody has their own strengths and weaknesses."

She thought about the question Dali asked her, but she didn't really need the time to think about it. She smiled.

"I think you will," she said, "There are places you can go to find more gods, I can take you there sometime if you like."

She certainly knew reflection like thought, she thought quite a bit and her mind was constantly whirling. The only time the little goddess' mind would quiet was near her forgetful sister.

"Okay..I wont judge based on powers..but it seems that those who can express great power have more respect?" the little blue lioness wrinkled her nose.

"I would like. I can't wait to meet more immortals! There is someone I am looking for from a long, long time ago." She had no idea what he looked like in this life, or what his name would be, but she wanted to find him...to see if he remembered.

"That's another tricky thing," Mtima said carefully, happy to be having these conversations with her daughter. They were very important for gods, at least she thought so, "Different powers get different respect. You shouldn't want to scare someone into treating you with respect, but that's what some gods respond to. But that's more fear than respect, anyway. You'll probably run into some of these gods eventually, be careful but don't let them get to you."

She was surprised when Dali mentioned that there was someone she was looking for. She knew that Uha had a lot of memories, it was something that affected his behavior sometimes. She wasn't too surprised for Dal to reveal that she had an excellent memory.

"Who are you looking for, dear?"

Be respectful, don't force someone by scarring them into respect you. Dalila'abadi knew of gods in the past who did this, but at her age she tried very hard to ignore the bad things, the more adult things that were not suitable for her current age, she wanted to be little again to be completely free and innocent of many of the old thoughts.

She tried to chose her words carefully, "I knew him in past lives before this one, he is the god of predators and he was a good friend. I would very much like to see him in this lifetime." To make things right, to work this time, she omitted these thoughts.

"Mom-- do you think I'm weird for remembering so much? I feel weird knowing things I shouldn't."

"An old friend?" Mtima repeated thoughtfully, wondering what exactly their relationship had been like as she quickly recognized that anybody worth seeking out in another life was someone you were close to, "I'm sorry I can't help you, I can usually find those I've met before but I've never met a predator god. But perhaps we might see him in the god's haven." She offered a smile, hoping that might make Dal happy- and that much more eager to go and check it out. Uha couldn't go, but that didn't mean his family couldn't.

"Weird?" she asked, looking startled by the question but never losing her smile, "You're definitely not weird, my dear. That's part of who you are. But perhaps your father would be a better lion to talk to about it. I certainly don't think it makes you weird. I love you very much, and your father. If you two are weird, I'm OK with that."

"Perhaps we will find him and then you'll be able to find him again," Dalila nodded vigorously. She had a feeling she would find him again, "I hope that he's still in this lifetime, I'd like for him to meet you."

"God's Haven.." Dalila repeated, "That's a good idea!" The little goddess beamed excitedly at the prospect of going to the haven, especially with Mtima as a guide. She hoped that she'd see gods that she knew before this life, and new gods to add to her collection to remember in the future.

Dalila rubbed her shoulders against Mtima's legs lovingly, "I love you too, mommy, more and more everyday." Dalila determined she'd have to ask her father exactly how his memory worked and where his powers align with her own.
