With her mother dying from all the blood being taken by vampires, Kami was born, the venom spreading from her mother to her. Her father was being changed beside them, so he could become a vampire slave, and was never seen again. It was his punishment for helping a half breed escape. Where they lived, vampires and humans lived in existence, most people not even knowing, except very few; victims and exiled vampire's friends. Half breeds were illegal, and the half breeds and the parents were then assasinated, along with anyone who knew about it.

The venom dwelled in Kami's blood stream. At first, there was not enough to change her. But, it grew and spread, and, when she got in a car crash at 16, and died, it became dominant. Unable to cope with what she became, she fled from her aunt's house. For 3 years, her life was trying to find out what happened to her, what happened to her father, and to kill those who ruined her life. Along the way, she fell in love with a strange boy with wings, and, thanks to some evil scientists, she has wings too. The boy, Fang, found out what she was, and no longer loved her. She could no longer take it, and thanks to a kind, beautiful stranger, she found her way here.
