It had been sometime since Ebony had allowed herself a night off, and one that didn't entail her being stuck at home snuggled up with a good book. No no, tonight was her night to paint the town red. She was young, independent, currently unattached and best of all, she was loaded. Though hopefully if she played her cards right, she'd be twice that by the end of the night. If there was one absolute in this world, it was that Ebony Shade loved money. Better yet, she loved the power and luxuries it provided her with on a near daily basis. Course she did try to keep that greedy part of her well hidden, but every now and then it needed room to stretch.
A slender finger lightly traced along her lush powder pink lips as she quickly checked herself in one of the reflective walls just inside the casino's lobby. Make-up looking good, the British woman would turn a quarter left then back before turning to the right. Smirking in satisfaction at the spaghetti strap black dress she had worn, Ebony readjusted the vial of smoke that always hung around her neck as well as the soul bottle that was currently entangled in a thin, loose chain belt around her waist. She figured if she was going to always keep them on her person, why not make them double as interesting accessories as well? Besides, no one except people associated with the Lab would even know what they were let alone their extreme value. And what were the chances of running into any of them in a place like this?
With one last fluff of her long violet hair, Ebony strutted her way into the inner workings of the casino like she was a model on a runway. Oh yes, she felt incredibly lucky tonight.

At least one person was feeling loaded and lucky, in terms of money and actual state of being anyway, as the Chinese woman sitting at one of the corner tables seemed to be giving off a very different feeling. A deep frown was set on her face, probably the common expression she wore given how it didn't seem to stretch her skin at all or alter her appearance, and as she tapped the table in front of her the frown only seemed to grow deeper.
Hu Rong Wei had come here tonight with not a lot of cash and had actually been doing well...until she suspected that the b*****d dealer was starting to count cards. The way he dealt seemed different too, at least when he tossed to her, but that could have only been her imagination. She wasn't a champion at card games seeing as they were kind of her weak heel as opposed to Mah-jongg, but wasn't that why she was here? People had to get better at games like this somehow and only practice made perfect.
Well practice and cheating...but Rong Wei wasn't that good, hence why she was running low on her cash and patience. Blasted place didn't even allow her to smoke, something about 'trying to maintain a healthy atmosphere', and when she got irritated she wanted to smoke.
"You sure I can't light up in here?"
Her voice was husky, probably from smoking and yelling and general whatever else and as an eyebrow pushed itself down into a look of disapproval at the answer she got, the woman could only sigh.
"Fine. Hit me."

After cashing in for some chips, Ebony scouted the place thoroughly as she thought about where she wanted to try her luck at first. Poker? Sounded boring. Slots? Maybe later. Roulette? That looked like fun, but the scene was way too crowded for her comfort so obviously not now. "Ah..." Grey eyes shone with anticipation as they came across a nearly empty Blackjack table. "Perfect."
Several quick strides lead her straight to the table as she watched an Asian female lose to the dealer. He then turned to Ebony and asked in a dull, yet professional manner, "Are you sitting in miss?" She tilted her head to the side in thought before nodding and slide into the seat next to the other woman. "Don't mind if I do." She placed a few chips down as her bet before flashing the dealer a bright smile. "Go easy, it's my first time."

Rong Wei shifted over in her chair as a new woman came and sat down in the chair right next to her, completely ignoring the fact that two seats over was an empty chair, and she frowned even deeper if that was humanly possible. The woman was grumpy from losing that last hand though she came quite close to a win, the results more or less being a push, and she was feeling this next go round she could have one. That is until someone sat next to her and Rong Wei would have to change her way of counting.
"You'd better watch your hands, he's counting. Unless of course you plan on counting as well."
Cards sucked, so hard, but that wasn't going to dissuade her. She had money to spend. . .sort of, so when the dealer dished her out her first card she sat back and watched the rest of the deal.

A slender brow immediately ticked up at the other female when she decided to make more of a void between the two of them. She supposed it was only natural when you were playing cards that you didn't want to be too close to the others playing as well, but Ebony couldn't help feeling a bit offended by the slight. Yet, she supposed she could have taken a different seat, but why change now? She did however scoot a couple of inches in the opposite direction.
She was however surprised when the woman spoke to her and even warned her about the dealer. Course that notion didn't surprise her at all since casinos were notorious for all kinds of shady dealings even among their own employees. "Ah, I see. Thank you."
She watched as the dealer dealt their cards. As it stood she only held a total of four and that surely would never do. A well groomed nail lightly tapped her card and the dealer dealt her yet another card. Her nose twitched when it was a six, making ten total. Yet again, she tapped her card and another card was dealt. Silver eyes widened when it was a queen, bringing her total to twenty now. Quickly the purple haired woman waved her hand over her cards.
((OOC: Sorry if I'm doing this wrong, but I figured you'd want to post your own hand and such. If I need to, I will change stuff. Just let me know. ^_^))

Crap, was her counting really that off? The woman next to her, who scooted away and gave her room which Rong Wei liked, seemed to be getting the good cards. As the Chinese woman stared down at her own she peeked at the number with slight enthusiasm.
An ace, which could mean one or eleven depending on how she wanted it, so it would probably be best for her to call for a hit despite not knowing what would come next.
"Hit me."
She tapped her own well manicured nail on the table, the fingers of the woman next to her having not been missed at all in their nature, naturally causing Rong Wei to have to show off her own. Woman had pride in what she did for a living, even if she hated her job. It's complicated.
When a Jack was thrown down atop her cards, probably her first luck all evening, Rong Wei smirked slightly.
"I'll stand. Go ahead and call it, little mister."

The dealer complied although with a bit of sour expression towards the cards the two ladies held. He turned over his hole card which was an eight giving him a total of fifteen. Another card was laid down and unfortunately it was a nine. "Dealer busts. Winner is the brunette. Play again ladies?"
Ebony didn't particularly like losing, but seeing as the lady had lost the hand prior and how many other hands before that, the Brit decided to be happy for her despite it. "Lucky break. Congrats. Hmm...I could play again. How about you?" She was now facing Rong Wei and awaiting her answer.

"I'll sit a hand out, if it's all the same to you. I need to recount my chips and figure out if I have enough to cash in to enter the rounds at the parlor."
Ah, so the real reason the petite woman was in a house of cards other than a want to learn how to count was coming to the surface, and that being she needed to earn a bit more money in order for her to play Mah-Jongg that night. It seemed as though she was a skint or two short and found it easiest to earn gambling money via gambling at other things. She was easily up fifty dollars after coming in with considerably less.
"You go ahead and blow through, I'll sit in on the next hand. There's not a set of rules again that, far as I can tell."
Rong Wei reached up and slowly pushed her glasses, a set of frames that were slowly sliding down her nose over the course of a few minutes, back up using her middle finger. It was more or less an insulting habit, but the woman could care less. She wasn't here to please people or make friends, she was here to earn money.
"So, go on. I'll count...I mean, watch."

She chuckled before nodding to the dealer and he resumed once more by shuffling the deck in a rather over dramatic manner. Yet Ebony was more interested in this cocky woman sitting next to her, who straight out told the world just exactly what she was doing or rather she proclaimed it and obviously didn't give a damn who heard. "I thought counting was frowned upon?"
A slight clearing of the dealer's throat was heard then, his subtle way of getting the Brit's attention. She rolled her eyes, like he couldn't wait a minute. Not like he was losing any money tonight. Taking a quick peek to the cards, Ebony quickly tapped the table and was dealt another card. Her total was seventeen now and the dealer had a jack. The hole card could be an ace, but hitting on something over fifteen was iffy. While she weighed her decision swiftly, her fingers idly traced across the glass vial around her neck. Waving that same hand finally, "I'll stand."
The dealer flipped his hole card over to reveal a five. He dealt again and busted with twenty-three. "Dealer busts. Winner." Again came that sour look as he awarded Ebony her winnings. "Play again?"

"Pfft, you seem to be the type attracted to a good looking body. Sucks to be me then, eh?"
Rong Wei tossed some chips in, indicating she wished to go a hand. It was rather amusing for her to watch this woman do well in two hands while had failed miserably at three in a row, and naturally the easiest way to explain it was the dealer had a thing for pretty faces. Such thinking wasn't uncommon, as sometimes at the parlor she went to her Feeder gave her good tiles depending on how nice she looked at the time. Men were pigs, but that made it worth her while...sometimes.
"Go ahead and deal me in, and I'm sure the pretty missy will want another go. That vial around you neck must just not be for show, not the way you're fondling it. Though I must admit I've never seen a luck charm like it."
Wow, she was rather chatty tonight. normally her mouth was occupied with a cigarette, probably the key as to not speaking, but in a place were smoking was forbidden they got her attitude. All of it.

The dealer frowned at Rong Wei and made another flashy bit when he shuffled the deck. Probably trying to draw attention away from the faint hint of red creeping across his face. Ebony just laughed. The gig was up as far as the Asian was concerned because that was exactly what the purple haired girl was doing. No need to cheat when the men were so easy to wrap around her little finger. And all with just one lovely smile. Oh how she loved the power.
"I'll go another hand, but I certainly hope that's not what this handsome young man is doing." And there was that flash of perfect pearly whites. The man's blush deepened. "Certainly not miss." The cards shot out towards them fast this time, the dealer wanting the attention off him.
Immediately her hands dropped at the mention of her vial and small frown crossed her tanned features. She hadn't realized she been doing that. Tapping for another hit, "It's just something I like to wear is all." No need to explain it's significance to a complete stranger. Especially not to someone who apparently gambled at parlors.

The woman had to raise her eyebrow at Ebony.
Seriously now?
"Okay, yeah, and I can be stupid enough to believe that the smoke in your little necklace is nothing special."
Rong Wei glanced down at the card she'd been dealt, an eight, and she tapped her own finger to call for a hit. It pleased her slightly to know she'd gotten the woman who seemed to full of herself because her looks to appear somewhat uneasy. When the second card she was dealt turned into an ace, she paused for a moment before deciding to leave it at that, Be it nineteen for now.
"I'll stand here, you finish up with her. And remember little mister, no cheating."

"Hit me." Ordered that stern British laced voice as she tapped. She smirked at the woman's words realizing she wasn't one to be so gullible as most of the general population tended to be. After all she did realize the dealer was counting. Guess you really can't con a con. Not that Ebony was thinking this lady was a con, but she had the right mind set do so if she pleased.
The card she was dealt now left her with a total of fifteen. The dealer had a queen and whatever the hell that hole card was while the Chinese gal had that damnable nineteen. Ebony had no choice, she had to hit. Metallic eyes shining with whatever mischief she had cooking in that purple head of hers, "Make you a deal, if you win this round I'll tell you what this little vial is all about. Game?" She would then tap for another card sealing their fates.

"I don't take sucker bets lady, and that's what you're pulling. Now if you don't want to say, then don't say. All I meant was it doesn't take a scientist to figure out you've got smoke in there that doesn't look natural."
Rong Wei waved a hand if dismissal towards Ebony's comment, irritated by what the other had to say. She really didn't care to know, she'd only been making conversation, and look what kind of trouble that brought her. This was the reason she was a chain smoker, what the with mouth being the root of all annoyances, and having a cigarette between one's lips usually calmed the urge to speak.
"Call it. I need to see something."
