Team Deviant: A DeviantART fanfic
By Agent-Sarah

Team Deviant profiles (Red Team)
Notes made by High Council Chix0r

The High Council of Deviant City had reports of seeing small groups of Bandemonium citizens attacking the outskirts of our city. At first we thought it was nothing serious until the attacks grew worse. Within days we had camera footage of large groups of trolls trying to tear down the city’s wall.

Moonbeam13 and Ewm suggested making a group of fighters to investigate and prevent any future attacks. The others agreed on the idea and funded the project codenamed “Team Deviant”.

After interviewing thousands of the citizens of our city, we have hired eighteen people as our chosen team members. There are nine members in two groups (the Blue team and the Red team) that protect the four sections of the city. The Blue team protects the South and East sections while the Red team protects the North and West sections.

Within these notes are the nine selected members of the Red team with their class roles and skills.

Name: Bagshotrow
Age: 22
Gender: Male
Species: Clefairy
Class: Demoman
Skills: Other than using explosives, he can use his Pokemon techniques for offense or defense if low on ammo.

When we first interviewed him, we first thought he was a female due to his appearance until he spoke to us. It was a bit embarrassing for us but continued the interview.

Bagshotrow can range from calm to sarcastic or just plain grumpy if someone gets him in a bad mood. He has a strong dislike of idiots and people who think they’re a fictional creature (werewolf, vampire, dragon, etc.) that doesn’t exist in the real world.

(Note: Mr. Bagshot must be kept away from the newly recruited spy at all costs to avoid any fights in the near future).

Name: Dave
Alias: HisnameisDaveyoufool
Age: N/A
Gender: Male
Class: Engineer
Skills: Can sense if somebody is nearby or in his garbage (this happened during the interview when a Mr. Edward Cullen was rummaging in Dave’s trashcan).

No one knows if Dave is a sock puppet or a zombie that’s the puppeteer for him. The people that met him think he was a human before a witch doctor placed a curse on him, resulting in his soul being trapped in a sock while the body rots away.

Despite his appearance and disability (the lack of arms for his sock form and the rotting zombie), he is a very friendly fellow and a good writer.

Name: ReallyAngry
Age: N/A
Gender: Male
Class: Heavy
Skills: When in Rage mode, he can take out a large group of people with his bare hands.

Named for his temper, Angry, is perfect to be the “heavy” for the team (Hexentanz thinks that having an angry Norwegian armed with a mini-chain gun just screams out bad news).
ReallyAngry seems to have a soft spot for Bohobella but denies it by going into a different topic and goes off in a ranting mode.

Name: DoctorBollocks
Age: N/A
Gender: Male
Class: Medic
Skills: Other than first aid, he also invents new things for the team (namely upgraded weapons).

We found this mad scientist when he was working on a type of gun that will shoot ice bullets (so far, it’s still in the works). He was happy to become the team’s medic so he can test out the weapons he’s made.

A fan of classic films, he goes into a ranting storm when hearing that a film he loves will be remade (to him, the classics should be kept away from the greedy hands of Hollywood so it won’t be turned into a bad film).

Name: Sarah
Alias: Agent-Sarah
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Class: Pyro
Skills: Can build traps to capture art thieves, trolls or ban-evaders. Can also speak and translate 1337 (Elite)/chat speak.

Well known to the council for capturing hundreds of rule breakers in the city, she was chosen for her ambushing skills to catch the enemy off guard. She uses her short height to her advantage as others seem to overlook her.
Sarah is assertive and will happily give orders to fellow team members to maintain strategic positions to keep the city safe. Sarah is also extremely loyal to the mission and friends.

Name: S.W. Moon
Alias: Livewire-Nighttide
Age: 16
Gender: Female
Class: Scout
Skills: Can outrun the other members of the team.

A human size rag doll from California, her speed and fighting skills are extremely useful for stopping or distracting the enemy.

Moon is a very unusual sort, known to ask very odd questions (“Do you know what the color blue taste like?”) and has an eccentric personality. Can be seen hanging around with Sarah.

Name: Taz
Alias: CittensCollar
Age: 18
Gender: Female
Class: Sniper
Skills: N/A

She took the job because she wanted to help out the city to rid the problem. An animal lover, she fosters cats at her local vet (which can be seen by the cat hairs on her clothes). Her pet cat, Spunky, came with her because she thought Spunky would be a good therapy cat for the team if they’re under stress or depressed.

Name: sbkMulletMan and his mullet, Gary (don’t even ask…)
Age: 24
Gender: Male
Class: Soldier
Skills: If confusing the enemy with bizarre topics is considered as a skill.

A truly odd man we ever met. When he came into the room to be interviewed, he saluted us like he was in the army and requested to have his hair to be named.

During the interview, he keeps asking us if there will be any women with, and I quote, “The greatest pair of tits that God himself ever created on this earth”. We lied to him that there will be women with the greatest breasts on earth in the team so we could get him the hell out of the room.

Name: Don
Alias: weareminion
Age: 30ish
Gender: Male
Class: Spy
Skills: Electronics, hand-to-hand combat and charm.

At first, he looked intimidating when he came into the room but is the finest gentleman we ever met in the interview. In his papers, he’s been known to be called “The Vampire Don” for his lifestyle (the vampire lifestyle that is). Don accepted we were skeptics and explained he understood it was difficult for others to accept the lifestyle. We believe he will make an excellent spy and bring us information regarding future invasions of the city.

After interviewing the nine selected team members, we should’ve thought about picking some NORMAL people for the job.

Fella help us all if this team doesn’t kill each other within the first week…

Chapter 1: Chaos in the base

The heat was unbearable as the sun was beating down Deviant City. The citizens had their fans or air containers on to cool down to prevent heat stroke.

But some weren’t lucky at the Northern section of the city.

Citten fan herself with her hat as she sat in her lookout den. The fan was broken, making the room sweltering. “I need to get Dave to fix the fan after my shift is over,” she said silently to herself. Grabbing her sniper rifle, she looks through the scope to look for any enemies.

In her sight was a fat troll lumbering outside the city walls. Smiling, she cocks her gun as she was about to take out the intruder with a head shot.

A loud crash from below her caused the sniper to miss her target as screams were heard. “That cat stole my lunch!”
“Damn it!” Putting her gun away, Citten opens the trap door to see what’s going on inside the base.

“Angry, calm down!” shouted Dave as his zombie tries to restrain the man, only to be dragged across the room while the others look on.

Citten enters the lunchroom to witness the scene. “What’s going on?”
“Your cat stole ReallyAngry’s lunch,” Sarah answered. “Namely his banana,”

The two women watch the black and white cat running towards them, holding the fruit in her mouth. The cat hid behind her owner as Angry stomps his way to them. “That cat is in a lot of trouble for doing that!” he yelled.
“Easy there, Spunky is always like that when I got her.” Citten said to him, trying to calm him down. “She has an odd habit for taking food.”
“If she does it again, she’ll be target practice!” Growling, he walks away from them.

Sighing, Citten picks up her cat and takes the banana out of her mouth. “You better learn not to take food from people, namely ones with anger management problems.” Looking down, she sees Dave picking himself up from the ground. “You okay?”
“Yeah, just dirty but all right.” He replied with a smile on his sock face. “Need any help?”
“Yeah, my fan died on me when I was doing my shift. Can you fix it for me?”
“Sure, just get it and place it in my workshop.”
“Thanks.”

“Well this just sucks,” MulletMan said to Bagshot. “The council promises me that there will be women with huge breasts here but all I got is a borderline sausage fest with only three girls here!”
“And you got your a** handed to them when you try to hit on them.” said the Clefairy. “And soon, we’ll be getting our spy.”
“Let’s hope this one is a woman…” the soldier mutter. “If this is another guy, I’m heading off to the strip club.”

Hours went by as the team took their shifts, only to be bored from the lack of activity from any denizens of Bandemonium. As the sun sets, they all went back inside the base to rest and give their report to the High Council.

Taking off her gasmask, Sarah goes into the control room to contact the council. “Anyone there?” she asked. “I repeat, is anyone there?”
“Vynnx here, any updates from the attacks?” a man from the radio asked.
“No attacks in the North section, same with the West section. How’s it going?”
“Nothing much but I got some news from the council: they’re sending the spy to you guys tomorrow afternoon”
“That’s great! You got the profile and photo of the new recruit?”
“I’m sending the fax to you now.” he replied. “The spy is an odd looking fellow but I think he can be good for you.”

The sounds of the fax machine started up as the information begin to be faxed. Moments after it was finished, Sarah takes the paper to read it, only to do a double take. “Vynnx, is this information for real or am I seeing things?”
“It’s real. I’m surprised that they pick a guy like him. As if you guys weren’t weirder than before…”
“I’ll have Doc pick him up from the train station tomorrow. We’ll give you guys more updates after that.”
“Roger.” Vynnx replied. “And one more thing, the council wants you to keep an eye on Bagshot so he doesn’t harass the spy, got it?”
“Got it, see ya later.” Turning off the radio, Sarah ran her fingers in her hair as she looks at the profile paper. “The introduction is going to be VERY awkward.”

Chapter 2: The new recruit

“Hey frog man, think fast!”

Doctor Bollocks ducked as a rock flew pass his head as Moon played baseball. “Vat iz wrong with you? You almost hurt me!” he said in a German accent as he got up from the ground.

The patchwork rag doll twirls her bat around as she grabs another rock to hit with. “We’ve been at this train station for nearly 45 minutes and I’m getting bored.”
“Can’t you do that avay from me so I won’t get hurt?”
“Where’s the fun in that?”

Giving her a dirty look, he leans against the pickup truck as he and Moon wait for the spy to come. “Zo Moon, how come that Sarah didn’t tell me and the others about ze information on the spy?”
“She said that you guys won’t understand once he comes to the base.” she answers. “But she did warn us to not let Bagshot see him.”
“Why?”
Moon shrugs her shoulders. “Don’t know but I have a feeling it would be ugly.” Looking at the time on her wristwatch, she sighed. “When will the train finally come?”

Hearing the sounds of the train, she gets up on the truck roof to catch sight of it heading to the station. “Come on Doc; let’s get to the station to greet our guy!” Jumping off the truck, she grabs his hand as they head inside to meet the spy.

-------
“Zo you’re our spy for the team, yes?” Bollocks asked as he drove his way back to the base. The man was in the front seat with him while Moon was riding in the back of the truck.

“Correct,” he answered. “The council thinks I would be of good use for you.”
“And may I ask vhy you’re wearing your scarf over your mouth?” When they met the recruit, the doctor and the girl was greeted by a man in a black coat with a scarf covering his face.
The man looks at the medic with an arch brow. “The council didn’t tell you anything about me?”
“No one but Sarah and Moon, those two are ze only ones that are informed.” said the doctor. “But I think they will tell us about you when we get to the base.”
“And how long have you been in the team?”
“Just two days ago. By the way, what is your name?”
“Don. And yours?”
“Doctor Bollocks. The girl in the back is Moon.”

Moon opens the back window and sticks her head in. “You better drive slowly, looks like some of the traps were sprung while we were gone.”
“Traps?” repeated Don.
Bollocks nodded. “Our Pyro set them up to prevent ze attackers from getting near us. You’re going to see ze aftermath when we get over this hill.”

As the truck got to the hill, they saw a small trail of smoke just a mile away from the dirt road. “Looks like ze fire pits got some of them.” said the doctor.

The truck arrives at the scene. Dirt pits burning and the bodies of thieves litter the base entrance. “Wow, your guy must be a master at this kind of thing…” Don said as he looks at the bodies.
Moon nodded as the truck comes to a stop. “Yep, she’s going to be busy to reset them all up tonight. Now let us welcome you to the rest of the team once we walk past this.”

ReallyAngry was guarding the door for the day, eating his lunch. When he heard the screams of the attackers and the explosions was music to his ears. Taking another bite of his sandwich, he was interrupted by a knock on the door. “WHO IS IT?!” he shouted. “Can’t you see I’m out at lunch?!”
“Open the door big ears, it’s us!” Moon shouted back.
Growling, the man removes the locks and opens the door for them. Seeing the man in the black coat, he spoke up. “Is this the new guy?”
“Yes I am,” Don replied. “And you must be…?”
“ReallyAngry, I’m the heavy weapons guy.”
“And I can see why you got the name…can we come in?” Angry moves out of the way for them. “Thank you.”

-----
“Welcome to our base,” Moon said as Don enters the main room. “We have nine bed rooms for us, a dinning hall, control room, locker room with showers, seven bathrooms and a briefing room.”
“Not to mention a work place and medical lab for me and Dave.” Bollocks added.
“Interesting so far…” he said. “So where are the others?”

“ATTENTION!”

The trio turns around to see Mullet Man coming into the room. Lifting his helmet up, he gets a good look at Don. “And who the hell are you maggot?”
“I’m your new spy,” he answered. “And you might be…?”
“sbkMulletMan, Soldier class! You may address me as Sir and address my mullet as Gary!”

“For god’s sake Mullet, knock the whole drill sergeant thing off.” Sarah leans against the doorway. “Sorry about him, he’s always like that.”
“Even naming his mullet?” Don asked.
“Yeah, even that.” Going over to him, she holds out his hand to shake. “Glad to see you here, we have a lot of things to discuss, namely about the mission.”
He shakes her hand and nodded. “And I’m glad to meet you as well.”
“You two know each other?” Mullet asked.
“We have chatted a few times but this will be the first time we’ll be working together.” she said to him. “Now let’s head to the briefing room before Bagshot comes.”

“You called?” Standing at the doorway, Bagshotrow overheard them and came in to see what’s going on. “You’re going away without greeting me?”

“Uh oh…” mutter Moon as the pokemon goes over to them. “Bagshot, don’t do anything stupid.”
“Nah, just going to get a look at this guy,” he said to her. Looking up at Don, he raises a brow at him.
“What is it?” Don asked.
“There’s something about you look familiar, namely the eyes and taste in clothing. And what’s with the scarf? Got a cold or something?”
“It’s classified,” the man replied. “Now if you excuse me, I have to be going.”
“Oh no you don’t, I need to see what’s going on here. Mullet hold him for me.”

The soldier grabs the man as he was ordered to do. “What are you doing?” Sarah asked.
“Going to see what’s under the scarf.” Watching Mullet setting the recruit down on a chair, the Clefairy jump on his lap and reaches for the scarf.
“Bagshot and MulletMan, stop this at once!” Bollocks order them.
“Back off you walking green bean and let me has some fun with this!”

Removing the scarf, Bagshot looked confused as there was nothing underneath. “…The hell?”
“NOW can you let him go?” Sarah asked them.
“Not yet…” he said to her before looking back at the man. “Open your mouth.”
Sarah’s face went pale as she heard those words. “No…Bagshot, I order for you to stop right now.”
“Not until I see what’s in his mouth. Now open that mouth for me.” Don didn’t do what he was asked to. “Oh, you DO have something you don’t want me to see. If you can’t open your mouth, I’ll open it for you!” As Bagshot uses his hands to open his mouth, Sarah and Moon rush over to get him off.
“Don’t open his mouth!” shouted Moon.
“Let go of me, I want to see!”

The two girls struggle to remove his hands while at the same time; Don was trying to get the small creature off of him. Suddenly, everyone froze in place as Bagshot successfully open Don’s mouth. The mini-Demoman stared at the man for a minute as he looks at what he saw.

In his mouth were fangs.

Sarah, Moon, Bollocks and Mullet watch as Bagshot’s eye began to twitch and grinding his teeth. “This isn’t going to very pleasant to hear…” utter the doctor as he quickly covers his ears.

An angry, blood curling scream echo throughout the base, causing the other team members to stop what they were doing to hear the scream.

Chapter 3: The spy’s a vampire!

“I can’t believe it,” Bagshot said as he rubs his temples to ease the headache. “I can’t believe the council sends us a ******** vampire wannabe as our spy.” he then looks at Sarah. “And you know him and you didn’t told us about it?”
“I don’t want the whole base thrown into drama but now thanks to you, Don has to explain the whole deal about himself.” she replied. “You should have stay away from him as we told you to.”

“Can I ask a question? What the hell is going on here?” Mullet asked.
“If you haven’t guessed, Bagshotrow has a strong dislike of people who think they’re fictional creatures or ‘Otherkin’ as they call themselves. Since Don is well…a vampire, this will be rough for Baggy here to work with him. And this isn’t the first time they met.”
“What do you mean?”
“When Don came to Deviant City, Bagshot stumble across him and started to harass him outside his home. Funny thing about it that Don is used to getting poke fun of when he was young that he doesn’t snap at his harassers, he just blocks them out of his head with ease.”

“And how did you know all of that?” Don asked her.
“I was quietly watching the events from a few feet away from your building.” she answered. “And most of the time when you were out, I set up a couple of harmless traps to rid the harassers.”
“Well that explains why the two guys were hanging upside down at my doorstep when I woke up…” Getting up from his chair, Don fixes his scarf. “So now that my secret is out, I might as well meet the others and go to my room.”
“And now that I know our new team member is another guy, I’ll be heading to the strip club to see some tits. I’ll be back for dinner.” MulletMan salutes them before he heads out the door.

Don looks at Sarah. “I’m going to be meeting some people just like him, aren’t I?”
“People who are obsess with breasts or just plain weird?”
“The weird part,”
“…Yeah, you will.”

-----
“A vampire you say?” Dave said to Doctor Bollocks as he was working on the sentry gun.
The doctor nodded. “You heard it right with your own earz.”
“And to think of having me as an Engineer was just odd. And I just heard Bagshot’s scream from here.”
“I think EVERYONE heard it and be wondering vhat was that all about. And tomorrow I’ll be presenting the team with their weapons and you presenting the sentry guns and support gear.” Bollocks said with a happy expression in his eyes. “Finally, I can show my inventions to ze group and test them out!”
“By the way, how did the weapons worked out?”
“Good, none of them exploded like last time.”
“Let’s hope they don’t blow up on the presentation…” Dave’s zombie groaned as it finishes the final touches on the gun. “Well, I’ll see you later Doctor B, I got a lot of work to do.”
“You too,”

Chapter 4: Weapons R Us!

The base was quiet as everyone was asleep in their rooms except for Bollocks, who’s busy in the lab on his inventions.

The silence was broken when an explosion cause half of the members out of their beds, follow by the sounds of the fire alarm going off.

Citten was the first to open her door to investigate the explosion. Seeing the smoke, she follows it down the hall until it was coming from the lab. Knowing that the doctor was in there, she rushes in to see if he was okay.

The room was filled with smoke, making it hard for her to see. “Doc, are you okay? What happen?”
“I’m fine,” he replied as he coughs a bit. “One of my weapons went off prematurely and blew up my table, along with the chemicals with it.”
“And it woke us up,” she added. “We better need open up the windows to let out the smoke before we all suffocate.”
“Vat would be a very good idea.”

-----
“So doc, what the hell were you working on during the whole night?” Moon asked him, playing with her breakfast.
“I vas doing ze last touches on ze Sticky bomb and then it went off.” he explained. “Sorry for waking you all up.”
“At least that wake up call was a lot better than a normal alarm clock.”

Dave sat down in front of them with his plate. “Morning guys,”
“Morning to you too,” the doctor responded. “Vhere’s Don? He should be up by now.”
“Don’t bother waking him up, he’s not a morning person. He was up all night, reading the reports and before I went to bed, he told me to wake him up in the afternoon.”
“Looks like we should be holding the presentation later until he gets up,”

“What presentation?” Moon asked.
“To show off the stuff we made to protect ourselves from the enemy.” said Dave.
“We finally are going to get some awesome weapons to play with?”
“Yes,”
A huge smile appears on her patch-worked face. “Sweet, when does it start?”
“This afternoon at 3:30, we’ll be presenting the weapons and inventions on the base roof.” said Bollocks. “Get the others ready for the presentation.”
“You know I will.”

-----
Later that afternoon…

“Vell, I see that you’re all came,” Bollocks said as the eight team members were standing on the roof of their base. “After being here for two days, Dave and I have finally made some improvements in some of your weapons and equipment.”
“So what are they?” Bagshot asked.
“I have made a couple of new inventions for some of you. Dave, if you will…”

Pulling the cover off, they reveal the inventions. Picking up a grenade launcher, the doctor shows the first weapon.

“This you see here is ze sticky bomb launcher; this will be Mr. Bagshot’s second weapon of choice if his grenade launcher ammo is low. Now you wonder how it got the name, I’ll show you.”

Aiming the launcher towards a target, he shoots off a couple of bombs at it. The bombs attach themselves to the target, humming manically. Bollocks than pulls a small leaver on the launcher’s side, detonating the bombs.

Turning his heel around to face the team, he tosses the weapon to Bagshot. “It carries up to 24 bombs and loads up to eight.”
"Nice!" Bagshot said as he straps the launcher to his back.

"Sarah, since you're our Pyro, I have made some upgrades with your flamethrower."
"Really, what did you do?" she asked.
The doctor grabs the weapon. "I tweak around it to make it shoot out a powerful blast of air that will knock off ze enemy off zheir feet or use it to shield yourself from ze missiles or grenades."
"Oooooh! I can't wait to try this baby out!"
"And I also made this," Picking up a flare gun from the table, he gives it to Sarah. "This will be effective in long range; it's like a sniper rifle in handgun form."

"What's this?" Moon asked as she picks up a gun with syringes in it.
"That's my weapon, the syringe gun." Bollocks explained to her. "It carries up to 150 and loads up to 40 syringes. It’s also fun to make your target into a living voodoo doll."

Looking at the gun and than at Angry, she aims it at him and fires a couple of syringes at him.
"AAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRGH! WHAT THE HELL?!" he shouted, screaming in a mix of pain and anger. He turns around to see the rag doll girl with the gun. "Why you little...!" Before he could rush towards her to beat her up, the doctor stops him.
"I'm very sorry about that, I didn't know she was about to use that on you!" he said to the man. "Vere let me take those off of you."
Angry pushes him away. "No, I can take them out myself." Walking off, he starts to pull out the needles off his back.

Looking at Moon, Bollocks grabs the gun away from her. "No weapon upgrade for you!"
"Aw, come on!" she shouted. "I was just testing it out!"
"But we do not test it on our team mates!"
"Buzz kill..."

Don picked up a watch and looks at it. "And what does this do?"
"That you see makes you cloak upon pressing the button to be invisible to your enemies." said Dave. "It only makes you invisible for a brief time so you have to careful when you use it."
"And this?" he now held up a cigarette case.
"A disguise kit to blend in with the enemy or you can disguise yourself as one of us so they won't know that we have a spy in the group."
Smiling, he puts it in his pocket, along with the watch. Eying a piece of electric equipment, he takes it. "Ah, I see that you have the electro sapper..."
"It's the thing that saps out the equipment upon set, am I correct?"
Dave looks at him. "Yes it is; how did you know?"
"I know electronics."

“And what’s with this Ghost buster laser blaster?” Citten asked as she points at the odd-looking gun next to Bollocks.
“This is my most prized creation yet, the Medigun.” he said as he holds it close to him. “This vill heal any of our team members if zhey get injured.”
“Does it work?”
“Why yes it does, I tested it on myself after the explosion this morning,” Looking at the sock puppet, Bollocks clears his voice. “My dear engineer, vould you present your tools to them?”

The sock nodded as he goes to one of his machines. “Now as an engineer, I have to build things to defend our base from attacks or aid us. Our line of defense is the sentry guns. They can be built in three different upgrades.”

He goes over to a spinning glowing wheel. “This is a teleporter; this will help us travel to one place to another in an instant. The enemy won’t get on it since I made these to identify us.”

Finally, he goes over to the last machine. “Now if the doc is put out of commission during the battle, this here dispenser not only gives you health, but ammo as well.”

“So that’s it?” asked Bagshot.
“Pretty much, yes,” Dave replied. “But don’t worry; there will be some new improvements on your weapons very soon.”
“Now that ze presentation is over, you all are now dismissed.” Bollocks said to the team.

-----
Hours went by as the team went on with their work shifts and as usual, there was hardly any action. No troll, thief or ban-evader was seen on Citten’s sniping scope. Most of them head back inside to rest or contact the council to report.

For Sarah, she was contacting the blue team to hear their report. “Is anyone in the south or eastern section base there? We need a report.”
“This is Heavy class GH-Mongo speaking, any sightings from your sections?”
“Negative but we did got a couple of them after they set off one of my traps yesterday.” she answered.
“We had a bit of fight in our base last night,” he reported. “They almost got in but we got them running after we took out ten of their guys.”
“That’s good to hear. Our doc and engineer gave us some neat stuff to use in the battle…if we ever get one.”
“Don’t worry; you might get the chance to fight them.”

Before she could reply, the sirens went off throughout the base. “Looks like I’ll be getting that chance because we got ourselves a sighting! I’ll be talking to you later Mongo. This is Pyro class Sarah, over and out!”

Chapter 5: They look unarmed (until they set your scout on fire…)

Entering the locker room, Sarah was greeted by the sight of her team mates gearing up. “So what’s going on?”
“We have a sighting at a farm from outside the city walls,” Citten said as she straps her rifle on her back. “From what I’ve heard, we got trolls hiding out at that area.”
“Finally, I was about to lose my mind from the lack of action.” Grabbing her clothes, she heads off to change. “I’ll meet you guys at the truck when I get dressed.”

Don opens his locker and takes out a brownish-red colored suit and matching mask. “What is this?”
“Your work clothes,” answer Mullet.
“I am not wearing this, doesn’t fit me at all.”
“Tough titty, wear the damn thing!”
“But thankfully for me, I have brought my own work clothes…” Grabbing his suitcase, he opens it to reveal a black suit.

“Lovely set you got there, does it match your coffin you sleep in?” Bagshotrow asked as he looks at the suit.
“At least I don’t spend hours grooming myself and check my hair for fleas.” Don retorted back at the pokemon. “And by the way, I saw your little present you left on my door, very funny.”
“What was it?” MulletMan asked. Out of his suitcase, Don pulls out a string of garlic. Looking at the garlic, he looks at Bagshot. “Care to explain this?”
“Hey, it was a harmless joke, honest!” he said, holding up his hands in defense.
“But it’s not funny to me at all.” Tossing the garlic to Bagshot, Don takes his suit and leaves to change.
“Seriously, that guy has no sense of humor when it comes to vampire jokes…” mutter the Clefairy.

-----
The back of the pickup truck was packed as the seven team mates were holding on as Bollocks drove to the location (along with Citten). Moon was tapping her foot with impatience. “How much longer?”
“Don’t know, try to be calm and save your energy for the battle.” Dave said to her.
“Listen sock boy; I’ve been drinking four cans of Red Bull before we left so don’t piss me off unless you’ll be my first victim.”

“Moon, save it for the battle,” Sarah said to her in a stern voice. “The last thing we need is a fight in the truck.” Looking at the others, she spots Bagshot and Don, glaring at one another. “What is with you two?”
“Our spy here is mad at me for leaving garlic at his door last night.” Bagshot explained. “He thinks it wasn’t funny.”
“Because it was tasteless,” said Don.
“Oh, I’m so very sorry for doing that. Did you want me to leave a wooden stake or silver cross next time?”
“Do that and I’ll put you in a pokeball so I don’t have to be bother by you again.”
Getting up from his spot, Bagshot growled at him. “You want a fight?”
“Bagshot, stop it.” Sarah ordered.
Don closed his eyes and lowers his head a bit. “I’m not going to fight you right now, we’re on a mission.”
“So you’re just going to puss out on me? Figures that you’re a coward.” Feeling a hand on his arm, he turns around to see Sarah. Her peaceful, fun loving self was replaced with a dead serious expression.
“Sit down, shut up and stop harassing him. NOW.” she said with a tone that matched her expression.
Growling, he sits down as he was told to and kept his mouth shut. Don looked at Sarah and smiled a bit. “Thanks.”
She nodded her head to him. “You’re welcome, he was getting on my last nerve and someone had to tell him off.”

The truck started to slow down as the doctor shuts off the engine. Sticking his head out of the window, he looks at the others. “Everyone off, we’re at the farm.”

-----
Reaching the hill, the team looks down at the farmland below them. “So this is the place the council told us?” Moon asked.
“Correct,” Citten replied. “Let me check for any enemies before we head down.” Using the scope of her rifle, she scans the area for enemies or traps. “Hmmm, I don’t see anything. This could be a bad sign…”

“So what do we do?” asked Bollocks.
“I suggest that we head down to the unguarded barn and get a closer look.” said Don. “Angry, watch out our backs,”

-----
ReallyAngry scans the inside of the barn and signals the others to come in. Dave puts down his tool box as he starts to get ready to use his equipment. Moon ran into the building, leaving a trail of dirt and dust in her wake.
“Moon, slow down, we can’t have the trolls find out that we’re here.” Dave said to her.
“Come on slow poke, can I at least warm my legs up for this?”
“And get us all killed? No thanks.”

Citten and Sarah hid behind some crates as they look out to see the back of the farm house facing them. Using her scope again, the anthromorphic cat got a better view of it. “All right, from what I’m seeing from the windows, it looks like we have at least seven of them in the house. Three in the second floor on the left and four in the first floor in the kitchen,”
“Are they armed?” asked Sarah.
“Can’t say that they do but I think I could get a better look up on the roof.”

“Screw the roof; I’ll check it out myself!” Moon said as she turns on her mike and headset.
“But…” Dave was cut off as she ran out of the barn. “Moon, come back!”
“Forget it; she’s going to do it.” Bollocks said to him. Turning on his com, he starts to speak to her. “Moon, what do you see?”

“Nothing but an old house with the lights on,” she answers back. “But I can see the trolls going about their business.”
“Are there any weapons outside?”
“Let me see…Nope, I don’t see any of them, same with the front porch.”
“Moon, you have to come here before they hear or see you.”
“All they’ll see is a blur, nothing more. Whoa...”
“What is it?”
“The cellar door is open. I’m going to go in and see if they have anything good in there.”

Turning on her com, Sarah begins to talk. “Don’t go in there, it could be a trap!”
“Aw come on, what’s the worse it could happen? Don’t be a worrywart about me; I can take care of myself.”
“Moon, MOON! Damn it, she cut me off…”
“How can you tell it could be a trap?” asked Dave.
“An open cellar door where no one is keeping guard sounds like one. And I won’t be surprised if I’m right.”

The team mates suddenly heard the screams of their scout from the house, follow by the sounds of gunfire. Inside the house, the trolls were running about as a glowing object was heading to the back door of the building. The door burst open as Moon ran out the farm house, completely on fire. The trolls got outside and kept shooting at her but she dodged their bullets as she ran off.

The team hid in the shadows, hay and crates so they wouldn’t get caught by them. A few minutes passed as they came out to see no sign of the enemy or Moon. Spitting out the straws out of his mouth, Angry came out of the hay pile. “Stupid girl almost got us caught!”
“And speaking of Moon, where is she?” Don asked.
“Behind you…” He jumped a bit as he quickly turns around to see Moon, drenched in water and burnt. “What happen in there?”
“A troll armed with a flamethrower is what happen.” she answers his question. “But lucky for me, there was a huge water puddle when I was passing by the barn to get away from them…and I need some medical attention because I think my burns look serious.”

-----
“You’re almost done Doc?” Moon asked as he healing her with his Medigun. The red/orange beam from the gun was restoring her skin to its normal condition.
“In a couple of minutes my young scout,” he said to her. “I’m amazed you didn’t have third degree burns.”
“Lucky me…” Looking at Sarah, she sighed. “I know what you’re about to say, ‘I told you not to go in the cellar but you did it anyway without thinking’.”
“Correct and it looks like you’ll be more careful in the future.” she replied as she ruffles her friend’s hair.
“After what happen to me, I’m thinking the same thing as well.”
“I need to ask you something, how many were in the house?”
Scratching her head, Moon tries to remember. “I think about ten or fourteen of them but I couldn’t tell because I was on fire.”
Sarah backs away from her a bit. “Sorry I asked…”

“We need to find a way to ambush them,” said MulletMan. “The troll in the cellar is keeping guard down there so maybe we can lure him out and off him while the others can go in and surprise the others.”
“That’s got to be the first non-insane idea we ever heard from you.” Angry said to him.
“And that’s the scary part.” Bagshot added.
“But first, we need bait to lure him out…” Looking over his shoulder, Mullet stares at Moon and smiled.
Seeing the smile, Moon turns pale. “Oh ******** you! ******** you right up the a**!”

-----
The troll was watching TV while he was guarding the cellar. The sounds of foot steps and dry grass being crushed under foot from outside snap him out his trance as the sounds kept going. Grabbing the flamethrower, he gets up and climbs upstairs to see what’s going on.

He was then greeted by the rag doll that he attacked a while ago, fully healed. “Yo, what’s up?” said Moon.
Before he could attack, he was quickly taken out by her baseball bat.

Sneaking out from the corner of the house, Don and Dave looks down at the body and then at Moon. “Good work,” Don whisper to her, trying not to alert the trolls from inside the building. “I’ll go in disguise while you and the others get ready.”
“Right, be careful in there.” said Dave.

Grabbing his disguise kit, he opens it up as a cloud of smoke surrounds him as the disguise takes form.

-----
Walking downstairs into the cellar, Don looked around to see for any traps or trolls. ‘Nothing but a TV and a six pack of beer. Looks like the others must still be upstairs.’ Heading up to the door, he opens it and sees that leads to the kitchen.

The trolls were playing poker while the other was cooking food for them. One of them sees him and spoke, “Hey Ron, what was that noise outside?”
Clearing his voice, Don starts to speak in a somewhat guff voice. “I thought we had a trespasser in the area but it was just an animal.”
“You sure it wasn’t the rag doll?”
“No, I found her body nearby the barn. It was burnt beyond recognition.”
“Good, one less annoying brat in our base.” said another. “We can’t have anyone of those goody two shoes grabbing our plans.”
“Plans? What plans?” Don repeated.
“I thought we told you about it…”
“I think I was lost in my own little world, can I see them again?”
“Sure, follow me.” Getting up from his chair, a fat troll got up and leads the man upstairs.

-----
Outside, Sarah, Dave and Bagshot were setting up the traps while Moon and Citten were keeping watch on their spy. “Okay, Don is heading up to one of the bed rooms to see what they got.” Citten reported as she looks in her scope.
“Good. When he gets them, we’re going to surprise them.” Sarah replied. “Try to take out any of them if they try to attack Don or escape.”
“Roger.”

-----
Opening the door, the two went into the room where a suitcase was sitting on the bed. “Here it is, have a look at it,” the fat troll said to Don.
“Thank you,” Seeing the troll heading to the dresser to check the clock, he knew he needs to take out the troll and grab the suitcase. Pulling out his knife, he carefully sneaks behind the troll and gets ready to stab him.

Only to quickly hide the knife behind his back as the fat creature turns around to face him. “Now you need to know that the double agent doesn’t want us to lose this case if those Deviant team members get their hands on it.”
“Are the plans that important?”
“Correct, if they know who our agent is, the plans to take over the city is ruined.”
“I see…” Putting his arm around the troll, the two head to the window where it’s facing the barn. “I need to say something to you.”
“What is it?”
The man gets close to his ear and whispered, “I’m really a spy.”

The troll didn’t see it coming when the knife stuck him in the back. Grabbing hold onto the curtains, he tried to pull himself to the window to escape but only to fall dead to the ground.
Reaching down to pull out the knife, he looks up at the mirror and notices something about his disguise.

All he was wearing during the cover up was a cardboard cut out with a face of the troll on it.

Don suddenly laughed and shakes his head. “I can’t believe that they can be so easily fooled by this silly thing…” Taking the mask off, he grabs his knife and suitcase. Opening the window, he waves the case to Citten to give her the signal to attack.

Seeing Don with the case, Citten turns on her com. “All right, he got it, let’s get this over with.”
“Right, get ready.” Angry loads up his gun and looks at Doctor Bollocks. “Get behind me; we can’t have you get hurt.”
“If you are injured, I’ll heal you.” he said to the man as he pulls out his Medigun.
“Then let’s go!”

-----
Glass shattered as a red, glowing grenade bounces across the living room, followed by an explosion. The trolls in the kitchen got up as one of their men was thrown out of the room. “What’s going on?” one of them shouted.
“It’s an ambush!”
“Let’s get out of here!”

Another grenade bounce into the kitchen as the trolls ran for their lives. Some flew out of the windows when it went off. The remaining trolls head for the backdoor and was greeted by a couple of sentry guns. “Oh shi…”
The guns lock onto them and start shooting them. Dave smiled as his machines did the work for him.

“You’re trying to get away? Not on my watch!” Moon shouted as she chases the last three down, waving her bat in the air. Gaining speed, she jumps into the air and performed an insane dive attack on one of them, taking him out.

The second troll drop dead to the ground as Citten shot him in the head. A smile appears on her lips as she got her first head shot. “Beautiful,” she whisper to herself.

The final troll ran into the barn and hid in the shadows, hoping that the team won’t find him. “It’s a little too dark in here.” said a voice behind him. “Here, let me light up the room for you.”
Turning around, he was greeted by a short woman holding a flamethrower. His screams were drowned out by the roar of the fire.

-----
“Wow,” utter Bollocks as he watches the gang drag the bodies into the pile. “Is that the last of them?”
“Yeah,” Bagshot replied. “I can’t believe we did all of this.”
“Me neither,” added Dave. “I’m amazed that we took out 14 trolls in one night.”
MulletMan nodded his head. “I’ll contact the council and give them the report; they’re going to have a hell of surprise when they come here for the clean up.”

Going over to Dave’s side, Don holds the mask to show it to him. “You didn’t tell me that I’ll be wearing a cardboard mask instead of a high tech outfit of some kind.”
“Didn’t the guys tell you? Trolls, n00bs, thieves or ban-evaders are easily fooled by anything, even by a piece of cardboard.” the sock puppet answer him. “And believe me, some of them are REALLY stupid to fall for anything.”

Chapter 6: Celebrate!

“…And in other news, the Red team members of Team Deviant has successively raided a troll hideout in the farmlands of Deviant City last night, taking down fourteen trolls with their wit and strategy skills. Within the hideout, a suitcase that holds their plans is now in the hands of their Pyrotechnican, Sarah, who will be translating the language to see what they’re planning.

When interviewing one of the team members, ReallyAngry, said that ‘Those trolls were a bunch of babies. They ran away with their tails between their legs when we attacked them. Now get that f**king microphone out of my face!’

This is Bohobella for the 11 ‘0 clock news and I’ll see you tomorrow afternoon.”

MulletMan shuts the TV off and smiles. “Did you hear that? We’re in the news!”
“We’re going to famous!” shouted Moon. “And if we keep this up, we might get medals!”
“And I think this call for a celebration,”
“Where to?” she ask, trying to contain her excitement.
“How does the titty bar sound?”
She blows a raspberry. “I’m underage; I can’t go to those places.”
“How about the local pub,”
“Now that’s a good place to have fun!”

“What’s going on?” Don said as enter the control room where the two were in.
“We’re heading into the city to have fun,” answer Moon. “Why don’t you come with us?”
“I would love to but I’m a bit busy with filing the reports.”
“Oh, don’t be such a workaholic! You need to get out and celebrate with us!”
“As long as we get back to the base early,”
“Deal, I’ll go get the others. Mullet, you can grab the truck and start it up.”

-----
Writing down the translated notes, Sarah was nearly done with her work. Taking off her glasses, she rubs the sleep out of her eyes as the drowsiness was kicking in.

“Hey four eyes!” Moon shouted as she burst into the room, making the young woman jump out of her seat.
“What is it? Are we under attack?” she asks, getting up from the ground.
“What? No, I just came in to ask you if you want to come to the city to have fun.”
“I can’t, I’m so damn tired from the events today…whoa!” Feeling Moon’s hand grabbing hers, Sarah was pulled out of the room.
“You need a break from all the work; we’re going to get you wasted!”

-----
The Complaints Tavern, a very well known hang out spot in Deviant City for its drinks, food and people complaining the things that gets on their nerves (follow by the occasional fist fights and paddling).

“Well look whose here to get drunk in my tavern,” CaptnGarrett, the owner of the tavern, said as he sees the Red team coming into the building. “So what do you guys want?”
“Give us some the best booze you ever have in this place, along with the food!” Mullet replies as he sits down on the barstool.
“Got it, and since you guys got on the news for that raid, the drinks and food are on the house.”
Moon sits down next to MulletMan. “Can I have some beer?”
“I need to see some ID,” Garrett requested.
“…Give me a root beer soda,”

Bollocks look at Sarah and notices she wasn’t in her usual mood. “Vhy so down on ze dumps?”
“Just not in the partying mood,” Sitting down, she takes off her glasses and sighed. “The translated notes are done and I have to present it to the council tomorrow morning. Now Moon wants me drunk and if I do, how the hell am I going to explain why my eyes are red and overslept?”
“I zee…vell, if it happens, I’ll give them ze report and notes.”
Sarah smiles and patted him on the back. “Thanks Doc, you’re a good buddy.” Getting up, she heads over to the bar to get a drink.

An hour and a half later…
Don watches the others singing Dropkick Murphys songs. Some of them screw up the words to the song while the bar files watch on in amusement. “Is this seat taken?” He looks to his left to see a girl standing next to him. “No, it isn’t,” he said to her.
Sitting down, she looks at the group and looks back at him. “Are you part of the team?”
“That is correct. I’m their spy and was part of the raid this evening.”
“Really, what was it like? Is it true that trolls really are that stupid?”
He chuckled a bit. “It’s true about the trolls. They’re so dumb, and they thought I was part of their group when I was wearing a cardboard mask.”

“And he happens to be a vampire,”

Biting his lip, Don cursed under his breath as a drunken Bagshotrow comes to the bar. The girl looks at the Clefairy. “What do you say?”
“Our spy’s a vampire. What are you, deaf?” he said as he climbs up to the stool. “Of all the people in this city, we got this guy.”
“Is that true?” asked the girl.
Sighing, the older man slowly nods his head. “Yes, I am a vampire…”
Looking at him in awe, she looks at him more closely. “You even got the fangs and all?”
“Oh he does,” Bagshot answer, snickering a bit.
“Does he even sparkle?”
Don looks at her with a surprised look. “WHAT!”
The snickers went to a full blown laugh as the pokemon held onto the bar to prevent him from falling off the stool. “I knew she was going to ask that! Oh god, this is classic!”

Don buries his face in his hands, feeling embarrassed. He hears the girl giggle and feeling her hand on his shoulder. “I was just joking about that last question, cheer up.”
“Yeah, loosen up fangy.” added Bagshot, taking a swing off his bottle.
“I really should...” he pauses for a moment as an idea popped in his head. “Want to see what I can do?”
“Sure I guess…”
Smiling, Don goes over to Bagshot as he flexes his hands a bit. The pokemon looks at the man with a questioning expression. “What the hell are you smiling about?”
“Something I should’ve done the day I came to the base.”
“What are you talking…?” Bagshot was cut off as Don pointed his index finger just an inch away from his forehead. His eyelids begin to close a bit as he felt his body losing energy and start to feel tired. The girl watches as Bagshot fell off the stool, follow by snoring. “What did you do to him?”
“I just drain a bit of his energy,” answer Don. “Don’t worry, he’ll be okay in the morning but he’ll be complaining about the hangover.”

“Yo Donny,” Jumping off the table, Sarah stumbles over to him. “What’s going on?”
“Nothing, Bagshot was being a jerk and I did my thing to shut him up.”
“Nice…” throwing her arms around him, the woman gives him a hug. “I love you man!”
“Sarah, are you okay?” he asked, trying to let her go of him.
“Yeah, just a bit drunk.”
“How many did you have?”
“About…two and a half bottles,”
“…My god, you’re a light weight.”
She grins at him. “Oh yeah! Can you be a dear and hold my drink, will you?”
Taking the bottle, he felt her grip loosen up as she fell backwards to the floor. Looking down at her, he hears her moaning in pain. “Well, looks like we better head back to the base…”

-----
The tavern door opens up as Angry carried Sarah and Bagshotrow in each arm as he and the others head to the truck. Moon jumps into the back, yawning. “Do we have to go?”
“Ve have a job to do and ve can’t get into trouble vith our bosses.” Bollocks answer to her as he gets into the driver’s seat. “You know how some of zhem get impatient vhen waiting.”
“Okay, okay…”

Putting the two unconscious team mates in, ReallyAngry sees Bohobella and looks at Bollocks. “Can you guys wait; I need to talk to Boho for a moment.”
“Okay but make it fast.”

Watching him go off to the woman, Moon looks at Citten. “Who is that?”
“Bohobella, Angry’s girl.” she replied.
“Really? I didn’t know big ears has a girlfriend,”
“He hardly talks about it. Amazing that a guy with out of control rages has a soft spot for her,”
“Guess so…” Watching Angry walking back to the truck, Moon wore a cheeky grin. “Seeing if your girl is okay?”
Giving her a dirty look, he kept his mouth shut and sat down. Moon pouted and cross her arms. “Fine, be like that.”

-----
Spunky woke up as she hears the truck driving into the garage. Trotting over to the door, she greets the team with a meow. Citten bends down to pet her cat. “Hey Spunky, been a good kitty while mommy was away?”
Purring, the cat flops herself on the floor like she was shoved to the ground. “Who’s a good kitty? You are!” Citten coo at the cat.
“Stop that, you’re making me ill with the cuteness and s**t.” Angry growled at her.
“You’re still mad over the lunch incident?”
“What do you think?”

“Now zou two, don’t start a fight. Save it on ze baddies.” Bollocks said to them. “Vow if you excuse me, I have to take Sarah to her room.”
“Fine…” they said in unison before they head off to their rooms.
“I’ll be roaming about the base as usual,” Don said as he walks away to the hall. “I’ll see you all tomorrow.”

Chapter 7: A traitor in the city

The briefing room was alive with talking and morning coffee and tea as some of the team members were waiting for the high council to appear on the TV screen for a live briefing. Yawning, Moon tries to keep her eyes open but goes to sleep in an instant.

ReallyAngry slams his mug on the table, causing the scout to wake up with a scream. “Jesus, don’t do that!”
“Don’t fall asleep before the meeting!” he shouted at her.
“Well I’m sorry but I didn’t have enough sleep because the beeping of Dave’s sentry guns kept me up all night!”
“Guys, stop yelling, my head still hurts…” mutter Bagshot as he holds an icepack on his head. Across the table, Sarah also had an icepack on her head as well. “This is why I hardly drink. When will the council be on soon?”
“In a few minutes,” Bollocks said as he fixes the files and reports. “Now, iz ze translated notes here?”
Sarah holds it up in her free hand. “Yep, all fully translated for everyone to read or listen while we read it.”
“Good. Oh and I have to say, you were quite ze party animal at ze tavern last night.”
“…I was?”
Moon looks at the doctor and said, “She doesn’t remember much when she gets drunk.”
“Sorry, I didn’t know zat.” Looking at the Pyro, he waved his hand. “I’ll explain later after ze meeting.”

“All right guys, we’re getting live feed from City Hall.” Dave informed them as the TV suddenly turns itself on. Static slowly changed into a face of a masked man. The team stood up and saluted to the man. “Head Council Spyed is now live on broadcast!” MulletMan announced.
Spyed nod his head to them and spoke. “Be seated Red team. Are there any updates on the enemy plans?”
“Yes sir, we have.” getting up from her seat, Sarah opens her file that holds the notes. “The plans were in 1337 speak and it took me at least four hours to finish the translated version.”
“Can you read it for me?”
“I will.” Clearing her throat, she picks up the papers and starts to read it.

“To my newly made allies,

I wanted to say thank you for paying me the money while I help you out on trying to breach the cities’ defenses while I play along to help my so called friends of Deviant City.

The plan to attack the city is a bit delayed due to the bastards of the council making the Team Deviant project to stop you from taking over. But I have a new plan to help you out.

I’ll give you access to the hidden tunnels in the city to give a surprise attack to your enemies. While you cause enough chaos, you head to City Hall and get rid of the High Council. Do whatever you want with them, may it be torture, rape or forcing them to listen to Rick Astly until they eat their own faces.
But to do that, we must rid the Red and Blue team members before we have the fun.

I’ll give you more information once I meet you tomorrow night.

Your friend,
V”

Putting the paper down, she looks at the group with a serious expression. “What we have here is not only an attack from the banned but we also have a traitor in the city that’s helping ********,” Angry said, face turning red with anger to match his hair.
“Are you sure you didn’t misread that?” Citten ask.
Sarah shook her head. “No, I double check it and everything.”
“We have to do something, we must alert ze citizens about this!” suggested Bollocks.
“And cause a mass panic? Are you insane?” Mullet said to the medic.
“Quiet and listen up,” Spyed spoke up, shutting the two men up. “We will not alert the people about this until we find out more about it. I need you to search the city to find anyone that could be a suspect or ask them questions about anything odd in the city.”
“What about the Blue team?” ask Bagshot.
“We’ll contact them and update them about it. If there are anymore updates, contact us.”
“Yes sir,”
“Good bye and good luck.” The image went into static as Spyed shut his connection to them.

The team got out of their chairs as they head out of the room. “This is going to be a long day…” mutter Moon.
“Yeah,” Looking at Bollocks, Sarah asks him, “Now what did I do at the tavern last night?”

-----
“Stupid ******** job, I should’ve never taking this job in the first place.” Angry ranted as he and Bollocks walk on the streets of the city. People were busy, talking on their phones, shopping or putting up their latest art work on display.

“Now Angry, save your rage for ze battlefield,” Bollocks said to him as he gets a newspaper from the stand. “If we do have to interrogate a person, you can scare zhem until zey speak ze truth.”
“Fine, we better find a suspect or I’m going to the Complaints tavern to rant.” Turning on his com, he contacts Moon. “Hey kid, you find anything yet?”
“I chatted with some new residents at Newbie St. but I got nothing.”
“Same here at the city square, I’m about to lose it from all this searching…”
“No big surprise…”
“What did you say?!”
“Easy with your voice volume, you’re going to make me go deaf.”
“Look, just contact the others and if they don’t have any leads, have them come to the Complaints tavern.”
“Roger, over and out.”

“Mein Gott! You can’t be serious!” the doctor shouted with an angry tone in his voice.
“What is it?”
“Zey remaking Nightmare on Elm Street!” he explained to the Heavy, showing him the article on the paper. “Vat ze ******** is wrong with ze people?! Zis is an outrage! Bloody dummkopfs!”
“Doc, you’re making a scene here…”
“I don’t care if I’m making a scene, zhese people who are rebooting movie series should be shot!” Grabbing the medic, Angry drags him off the street while the people look on. “This is why I rather do this stuff alone!”

-----
“So how was ze search?” Bollocks asked as Citten, Sarah and Moon came into the tavern.
“Asked a lot of questions, got absolutely nothing on the way.” Citten answer back. “What did you two do?”
“Spent our hour here,” he said to her. “And I ranted about movie series being rebooted,”
“How did that went?”
“Ze bar flies tackle and paddled me. Vhy didn’t you guys tell me zat zey do that?”
“You’re new to the bar and they did that as a part of the newcomer hazing ritual.” Sarah explains.
“Vell zat explain vhy zey call me a newbie after zat…”

The door opens up as Don came into the building. “Afternoon,”
“You too,” greeted Moon. “How was your day?”
“Like all of you, I got no leads. But I did get hit on a lot by the girls.”
“You poor man…”
“Thankfully I lost them after I used the cloaking device and hid.” grabbing his cigarette case, he takes out a clove and lights it. “So now we got no leads in the city, what should we do?”
“We need to contact the Blue team to warn them about the attack plan and keep an eye on each other.” suggest Angry.
“I guess we should do that because the last thing we want to see at their base is their heads on pikes.” said Sarah.

-----
“Your move sock boy,”
“I’ll win this for sure.”

sbkMulletMan and Dave were in the middle of a heated battle of chess to kill the time during their lookout shift. The two were staring at the board to see which piece will be moved. They both stare at the chess board in silence, sweat running down Mullet’s face as he try to guess his opponents move.

The silence was broken when the static of the radio was heard beside them. The man jumped, his helmet obscuring his view, giving Dave the chance to move his piece to win the game. “Check mate!”
“Damn it!” Lifting his helmet up, he turns on the radio and takes the mic. “Yes?”
“It’s Spyed; I got some news for you.”
“What is it?” Dave asked.
“I tried to contact the Blue base but they’re not answering back. I have a feeling something bad happen to them. Call the team and have them go to the base to investigate.”
“Yes sir, we’ll call them.”

-----
Getting a call from their base, Citten turns on her com. “Yes?”
“It’s Mullet; we just got a call from Spyed. It looks like our buddies from the Blue base could be in trouble and needs you go check out what’s going on.”
“We’ll be there and contact you when we get to the base. This is Citten, over and out.”
“And the day keeps getting longer…” mutter Don as he takes a drag from his clove. Putting it out, he straightens his necktie and looks at the others. “Shall we?”

Bagshotrow was walking on the sidewalk after his failed search for leads. Cursing under his breath, he heads to the Complaints tavern to meet his team mates, only to get the door hitting him in the face. “Son of a b***h!”
“Baggy, get in the truck, we have to go to the Blue base.” Moon said to him as she heads for the vehicle.
“Now what?” he asks.
“I think we might have a problem, now get your a** in the truck!”
Growling, he stomps his way to the truck and hops into the back. “This better have a battle there because I’m in a mood to blow something up.”

-----
While the Red base protects the Northern and Western sections of the city, the Blue base protected the Southern and Eastern sections of it.

But when the gang got to the base, they were greeted by the aftermath of a battle. The bodies of the banned scatter about the field, the base walls covered in bullet holes. Getting out, Angry takes out his weapon and shouted, “Hey, anyone here? Is anyone all right?”

The base was silent save for the wind blowing and the engine of the truck. Shutting off the engine, Bollocks came out of the truck. “Something isn’t right here…”
Angry nodded. “Yeah, what should we do?”
“We need to go inside to see if they’re in the base.” Bagshot suggested.
“But we need to be careful; the enemy could be in there to surprise us.” Citten added as she pulls out her rifle. Getting their weapons, they got off the truck and head to the base.

The door that leads inside was blow open, leaving only an opening. Going in first, Sarah opens fire with her flamethrower to make sure no enemy was near the doorway. Seeing that the door way was clear, she gives the team the thumbs up.
They ran into the main room, weapons drawn and ready to attack. Like outside the base, the inside was enemy and litter with the bodies of the banned. “Moon, look around for any of the team mates, we’ll survey the room.” order Sarah.
“Right,” the scout ran off to the hallway, leaving the others in the room.

Spreading out, the gang looked around, trying to find any clues from the scene. “Man, this place had a hell of a fight going on before we got here…” said Citten.
“Yeah,” Don simply replied as he picks up a shell case. Putting it under his nose, he sniffs it a bit. Bagshot sees this and gave the spy a look. “What the hell are you doing?”
“To see if the smell of gun power is still fresh,” he answers back. “And it is. By my guess, this fight could have taken place an hour ago or two.”
“And you just guessed that by smelling it?”
“Pretty much, yes,”
“Man, as if you’re not more of a freak than before…”

“Hey guys, I think you should see what I found!” waving to the others from the end of the large room, Sarah was at the corner with scrap metal on the floor near her feet. As the others got over, they look down at the metal. “Do you guys know what this is?”
“Not really, nein.” said Bollocks.
“It’s the remains of a teleporter.” she said. “Two teleporters actually,”
Bending down to get a closer look of it, the doctor picks up a blown out device from the heap. “And it by ze looks of it, ze machines got sapped.”
“So what the hell happen here?” Bagshot asked.
“I guess zat ze team got attacked and during ze battle, zey must have set up ze teleporters and vent to a safe location before ze person use ze sapper.”
“But they should have placed the exit portals somewhere hidden in the base so the enemy won’t find it…” stroking her chin, Sarah looks at the others. “I don’t know about you guys but I have a feeling something isn’t right about this.”

Moon head back to the room and see the others at the corner. “What’s going on over there?”
“We’ve found the remains of two teleporters and we’re thinking something bad just happen here.” said Citten. “Did you find the team?”
“Not a trace.”
“Not even an exit teleporter?”
She shakes her head. “Nope, double checked the rooms but found nothing. But I did found something you guys need to see.”

-----
Entering the control room, the room was utterly destroyed. The radio was smashed to pieces, the computers covered in bullet holes and report papers all over the floor. “Damn, they really ******** this place up…” mutter Angry.
“And look at the wall.” Pointing to the wall on the right, Moon shows them written graffiti on it.

We’re in ur base, destroying ur things.

“What the hell is that even mean?” ask Don.
“Them and their lolcat speak, you how they are.” said Moon.

Sarah goes over to the wall and looks at the graffiti, mouthing the words a couple of times to try to make sense of it. “s**t, guys we have to head back to our base.”
Bollocks looked at her. “Vhy?”
“Just GO!” she shouted, running out of the room to get back to the truck.
“Sarah, what is it? Why do we need to head back?” Moon said as she ran beside her friend.
“They tricked us to coming here! We have to warn Dave and Mullet about the ambush.” Jumping into the back, she pulls out her gun to load up while the others get in. The doctor turns on the engine and drove off as fast as he can.

-----
The long drive back to the Red base had their adrenaline pumping, setting themselves up for the ambush. Bollocks called to the base a couple of times but got no response, fearing that their two team mates were killed. “I’m scared of vhat we’re to see at ze base.”
“I think they’re okay,” said Citten. “Knowing MulletMan, that insane nut must be mowing them down as we speak.”
“The last thing I want to see when we get to the base is one of his rockets hitting us.” Bagshot said as he held onto the side of the truck to prevent himself from falling off his seat. “I swear we need to give him a smaller helmet so he can see what the hell he’s doing.”

As they got closer, they could hear the sounds of bullets being fired, followed by explosions. “Sounds like our boys are fighting them off,” Don spoke up. “Is everyone ready?”
“I am,” Moon said as she loads her gun. “I’m ready to smash some skulls in!”
Angry cracks his knuckles. “Ready.”

Bullets wiz pass the truck as the enemy started shooting at them. The team ducked as some hit the windshield, glass shattering into the driver’s seat. Bollocks and Citten ducked in time as the bullets missed them by inches. Rolling down the right door, Citten takes out her submachine gun and fires back.

“Some of them are hiding from the ground!” shouted Bagshot. “Sneaky shits! Let’s see if they can hide from these!” Taking out his sticky launcher, he fires a couple of them on the ground as they drove by. He pulls the leaver to detonate them, blowing up the enemies. “Ha! Now let’s see you try to dodge that you little…” He didn’t finish his sentence as one of his team mates yelled out in panic and before he could turn around to see what’s going on, a blast of heat and air hit his face.

It was like as if time slow down around them as the explosion sent the truck over its back, throwing out the passengers from the back as it goes. The team members crash to the ground, knocking some of them out. The last thing Bollocks and Citten remember before blacking out was the truck landing on its back, follow by the sounds of foot steps coming their way…

Chapter 8: I never really was on your side

“Wake up my little friends, wake up.”

Opening his eyes, Doctor Bollocks found himself and the others in their base, bounded in rope with guns aimed at them. Looking around, he noticed that most of his team mates were injured from the surprise attack that took out the truck. Hearing the sound of a body being dropped on the ground, he turns his head to see Dave’s zombie hacked apart, saved for his right arm and the sock.

“Your two friends were easy to take down when they fought,” said a voice. “They were so busy, they didn’t saw me sapping the sentry guns and knocking them out.”
“Who are you? Show yourself!” Bollocks demanded.
“If you must…”

A figure moves the two gunmen out of the way as it came into view. The single light from the ceiling reveals the person, showing a young man in a blue, pinstripe suit and mask. “Better?”
“Ja,” he replied. “And you might be…?”
“The one you called the traitor,”
“So should ve call you ‘Traitor’ or ‘Backstabbing b*****d’?”
The man laughed. “Oh please, that’s such a flattering thing to say to me. But one of your friends knows me, namely your Pyro.” Walking over to Sarah, he looks at the woman and notices that the right side of her suit was burnt and blacken from the blast. She wore a look of pain and trying to fight off the tears. “Sorry that you and your friends got hurt, the missile should have hit the ground just feet away from the truck instead of head ******** you,” she hissed at him. “Who are you?”
“Sarah, don’t you remember my voice?”
Looking at him, she raises a brow. “Can you give me a hint dumbass?”
“Before your spy came to your base, I send you the information on the person.”
Eyes widen, Sarah looked at him in shock. “…Vynnx?”
“NOW you remember me,” walking away from her, he stands in the middle of the room.

“Who’s Vynnx?” ask Moon.
“He’s one of the well known residents in some of the cafes in the city,” answer Sarah. “He was also our contact to give us information when the council members are out…and now it looks like our buddy here is helping out the baddies.”
“But why?”
“I’ll be the one to explain it,” Vynnx said as he plays with his knife. “I have what you may call some ‘disagreements’ with the rules some of the council members made over the years, namely allowing the artists to trace from copyrighted images and other things. Finally had it with their ways, I contacted the banned and have them attack the outskirts of the city as a form of distraction while I planned to put a downfall of the High Council…”
“And vhy are you doing all of zis for?”
“To take control over the city and enforce my own rules onto it after we rid the council members,” answer the traitor. “But to do that, I need the Bandemonians to attack the city and put a scam bug into the main computer system to cause enough havoc to bring the city into chaos. When they have their fun, I will play the hero and fight them all off until they run back to where they came, leaving the citizens to cheer and worship me as their new leader.”

“But your plan was in hiatus when we came along,” said Don.
“Correct and I had to find a way to rid both teams so I can complete my plan. And I had the perfect idea to get rid of you so you won’t get in my way. I joined the Blue team as their spy so I can keep in contact with the Bandemonians while the team slept. We ambushed them and teleported them to different locations far away from here. And to make sure they don’t come back, I used the sappers to destroy the teleporters.” Laughing, he looks at them with an evil smile. “Now that I have all of you, you’re all helpless to stop me.”

Getting up on his feet, the bounded Bagshot ran towards Vynnx and leaps at the man to attack him. The spy grabs a bottle from the table and swung it at the Clefairy. The bottle broke by impact; follow by Bagshot screaming in pain as the shards got into his face. Watching the demoman fall to the ground in pain, Vynnx grabs him and toss him to one of the gunmen. “Is the teleporters ready?”
“Yes sir, they’re ready for teleportation.” one of them answered.
“Good, grab them and take them all to the control room.”

-----
“Unhand me you ugly illiterate n00bs!” MulletMan shouted at his captors as he and the rest were shoved into the room. The teleporters spun as they were ready to be used.
Vynnx aims his gun at them. “Each of you will be sent to two different locations far from Deviant City, we have teleported your weapons to the places but you have limited ammo so you better use them carefully.” Pointing his gun at ReallyAngry, Citten, Moon and MulletMan, he points his finger at the first teleporter. “You four, get on it.”
“What about the sock puppet?” the troll asked as he held up the body, “He’s still moving and all…”
“Let him join the chosen four, he’s worthless anyway.” said Vynnx.
“Worthless?!” shouted Dave. “If I have limbs, I’ll kick your a**!”
“Yes, yes, whatever you say…”
“You’re really are a b*****d!” Tossed into the teleporter pad, Dave vanishes within a blink of an eye.
The spy aims the gun back to the four again. “Get on the teleporter, NOW!”

Without saying a word, they got onto the pad as they were told to. One by one, they disappear. Trying to escape from the ropes, Sarah struggles a bit, only to hiss in pain from her wound. “Oh Sarah, it’s so sad that you can’t join me to rule the city, you’ll make a great law enforcer.” Vynnx said to her.
“Sorry pal, but as a law bidding citizen that was taught to be a good person by her mother, I would never join scumbags like you.” she replied.
“If you say so…” Shoving her into the second pad, he watches her disappear. Looking at the last three team mates, he motions his gun to the pad. “You know the routine.”

Heading to the pad, the trio vanished, heading to their location. Putting his gun away, Vynnx goes over to the teleporters and places the sappers on them. The machines slowly stop spinning as they short circuit and explode from the overload. “Now with that done, the REAL fun begins.” he said to himself.

-----
The first thing Moon saw was a blinding light. Shielding her eyes, she looked up to see the sun beating down on her. As her button eyes slowly adjust, she finds herself and the others in the middle of a desert. Angry sees where they are and shouted in a fit of rage, “MOTHER ******** are we?” Bollocks asked as he and the others found themselves in a hellish landscape.
“It isn’t Death Valley that’s for sure.” Don reply. “Not unless it has ruin buildings and bizarre structures.”
“I know where we are,” said Sarah. “I’ve been here before and this is the worst place to be in…”
“And zis place is…?”
“Welcome to Bandemonium, a true hell on earth.”

Chapter 9: Split up

“Now hold still Bagshot, I need to take ze glass out.” Bollocks said to the pokemon as he uses the tweezers to pull out the glass shards off his face.
“Watch it, some of the shards are near my eye!” he shouted at the doctor. “I can’t believe that b*****d Vynnx would turn his back on the city for his own greedy needs.”
“I am very disappointed vith him as vell and look vhere ve are, stuck in ze city of ze banned vith little ammo. And vat worse zat my Medigun is destroyed from the blast.”
Bagshot sighed. “Well this is just great. Not only we’re stuck in this hellhole but I’m also stuck with Don. Makes me wish that a*****e Vynnx would teleport himself here so he put me out of misery.”
“Now zis is no time to whine. He may get on your nerves but he is very resourceful team member we have.” said Bollocks. Grabbing the bandage wrapping, he puts it on Bagshot. “Zere, all done. Lucky for you, ze glass didn’t damage your left eye zat badly but it vill take a vhile for your eye to heal.”
“Thanks doc. If you weren’t here with us, I could be blind in one eye for life if it was that bad.” Looking up, he sees Sarah and Don on the roof of the ruin building. “I hope they can find a way out of this place…

The two team mates slowly scan the hellish landscape that is Bandemonium. The city was like something out of Dante’s Inferno, only twisted and surreal. “You see any exit gates at all?” ask Sarah.
“No,” Don replies to her. “How about you, you see anything?”
“Nope, I don’t get it, how the hell did they get out of this city when there are no gates from outside?”
“It could be that they must have dug a tunnel under the city and to Deviant City.”
“Could be possible,” holding her right arm in pain; she pulls up the sleeve of her suit to look at her injury. Don looks at her with concern. “You okay?”
“Not really, no. I need to have Bollocks check my arm; I think I might have second or third degree burns.”
“You took that blast pretty hard but if it wasn’t for the flame resistant suit, you would’ve been dead.”
“Yeah, now let’s head down before we might get killed by a random thug or something.” Sarah heads down to the ladder and climbs down.

“Did you find anything up there?” Bagshot asked them as the two got off the ladder.
“No exit gates from any of the corners of the city.” answer Don. “We think they have secret tunnels hidden around these parts.”
“Let me guess, we’re going to do some walking around this place to find them?”
Sarah nodded. “Yep,”
Bagshot’s ears drooped. “God damn it…” One of his ears perked up as he heard something from behind the others. Picking up a rock, he gets ready to throw it as a small figure appears. The others turn around to see a black and white cat sitting there.

“Spunky, what are you doing here?” Sarah said as she picks up the cat.
“She must have accidentally teleported herself here vhen no one vas looking.” said Bollocks as he scratches the cat’s head. “Citten vill be worried about her. Zat is, if ve ever find her along vith ze others.”
Clearing his throat very loudly to get their attention, Bagshot gives them a look. “Are we going to stand here all day and chat or do you all wanted to get the hell out of here as much as I do?”
Nodding, Bollocks picks up his first aid kit and weapons. “Ve’re coming you impatient pink puffball.”

Picking up their weapons, the four began to walk away from the building, heading to the west. Spunky set herself down on Sarah’s left shoulder with the fuel tank supporting her so she won’t fall off.

-----
“God damn mother ******** assholes,” cursed Angry as he went off into a full swearing rant. “If I ever find those ******** that teleport us in this ******** dustbowl, they’ll be shitting in bags after I rip out their rectums!”
“Not right after I put them in a damn body bag,” Mullet added. “They will pay for this!”

Citten and Moon ignore the two men as they help Dave. “Oh Dave, look what they did to you…” Citten said as she looks at the damage the zombie went through. “What happen?”
“When Mullet and I were fighting, Vynnx knocked us out but my zombie was fighting back when I was out. I guess he pulled out a knife and sliced it up.” he explain.
“Do you think we could find a replacement?” suggested Moon.
“Unless you can find a zombie in the middle of nowhere,”
“Good point…”
Getting up, Citten picks up Dave and swings him over her shoulder. “We can’t hang around this place if we want to be vulture food, we need to head on out and try to find some help.”
“And what should we do while we do that?” said Dave.
“We can have Moon try to contact the others to see if they’re alive.”
“Sounds like a plan to me,” Moon said as she puts her headset on. “But we can’t leave without Roid Rage and 80’s hair band here.”
“Yeah,”

Hearing a whistle, Mullet and Angry turn to look at the girls. “What is it?” Mullet asked.
“We’re all heading out in search of help and you we can’t leave you two out here to die,” said Citten. “On our travel, Moon will be contacting the other half of our group to get any message from them.”
“You sure they’ll be alive?” said Angry.
Moon shrugs her shoulders. “They have to be if we get a message back from them.”
“Let’s just stop talking and get to walking,” Dave said to them. “We might have a chance to get help or maybe find them.”

-----
A few hours went by as the gang wander around Bandemonium in search for the hidden tunnels. So far, they haven’t found anything in the West section. “Well this idea went to s**t fast,” Bagshot said as he stops to rest.
Putting her flamethrower down, Sarah leans against the wall and sighed. “And I’m getting hungry.”
“I am as vell,” said Bollocks. “How’s your arm?”
“Doesn’t hurt as much after you patched it up,” she replied. “Thanks for dressing my wound by the way.”
“You' Rewillkommen,”

“Hey,” getting their attention, Don looks around a bit. Confused, Bollocks looks at the man. “Vat is it?”
“Quiet and listen,” he said, holding his hand to them to silence them. There was a brief moment of silence until Bagshot broke it. “Okay, what is it that we’re supposed to hear?”
“Normally this place would be full of sounds of people and forms of media but I don’t hear anything.” the spy explained.
“He’s right,” Sarah added. “This place is really noisy all the time but now there’s hardly a sound.”
The demoman blinked at them. “So what the hell are you saying? That everyone in the city escaped?”
“If so, zat means zat our city is in deep trouble.”

“Great, first we have a traitor, than the attacks and the upcoming infecting the main computer and now this.” Sitting down, the Clefairy takes out one of his weapons to load them. “Might as well just pull our pants down and take it in the a** because we’re screwed.”
“But if we find ze location to vhere zey escaped, we might have enough time to get back to ze city.” said Bollocks.
“But it might takes us days to find it,” Sarah said to the doctor. Suddenly, her com started to make white noise. “Huh? I must have left it on without knowing it…” Taking it out to shut it off, she stopped as she hears someone trying to contact them. “Son of a b***h, looks like our buddies are trying to get through!”
“You sure?” ask Don.
“Yeah, but I need to find a location that has a better signal…”

-----
Back at the desert

“Team units Medic, Pyro, Spy and Demoman, can you hear me?” Moon asked as she was contacting the others. “I repeat, can you hear me, over?”

A few minutes of white noise, a voice spoke up. “This is Demoman class Bagshotrow speaking; I can hear you loud and clear.”

Hearing his voice, Moon starts to talk. “Where the hell are you?”
“I’m in Bandemonium with the others,” he answered. “Getting a signal in this place is hard as hell.”
“How did you get the signal?”
“We have methods,”
“Hurry up, my knees are giving in!” Don’s voice is heard over the com.
“I don’t know how long we can keep up holding each other up as a human tower but my back is killing me.” Sarah replied.

“Is there anything you can tell us?” ask Moon.
“We think that the people in the city just all escaped and we’re trying to find the way out of this place,” reply the demoman. “If we can find it, we’ll try to find you guys. By the way, where are you?”
“Somewhere in a desert.” she answers his question. “We could be in Arizona…or in the Kalahari Desert. Look, we don’t know where the ******** we are but all I know that it’s hotter than the devil’s balls out here!”
“Well where ever you are, we might try to find you there if we get out of this place. It may take us a while to find the escape route but we’ll be out of here soon.” In the background, a strange noise was heard.
“Vat was zat?” Bollocks asked.
“What was what?” said Bagshot.
“It sounded like growling.”
“I hope that was my stomach…”
Sarah added.
“What’s going on?” ask Citten.
“I don’t know but it sounds like its coming closer.”
“I zink zis would be ze good time to find a place and hide,”
Bollocks suggested.
“Good idea,” said Don. “We better contact the others later and…” he was cut off when a roar was heard on the com, followed by a scream. “Jesus Christ!”
“RUN!”

“What’s happening over there?” Moon asked, only to hear static and roaring, follow by white noise. “Hello? Can you hear me? Damn it…I got cut off.”
“That doesn’t sound good…” said Dave. “Whatever is going on there, it looks like something is still in that hellhole.”
“And it would be a while for us to get a response from them.” Citten added. “We better keep going.”

“Hey!” From the distance, Mullet waves his arms to the trio as he ran to them. “Guys, you won’t believe what me and Angry just found.”
“Is it a town?” asked Dave.
“Close, a highway,”
“A highway?” repeated Moon.
The soldier nodded. “Yeah, while you guys were waiting around chatting on the headset, we went ahead of you and saw the road. I thought I was seeing things until I licked the pavement.”
Citten blinks at him. “…Why did you do that?”
“To make sure it was real. And it was…taste like tar and road kill.”
“That’s disgusting.”
“But than again, this is MulletMan were talking about here…” Dave said to her before he looks at Mullet. “All right, take us to the highway.”
“But before we do, we need to put you in Moon’s massager bag because the last thing we want is getting arrested for grave robbing or something.” Taking him off her back, the sniper helps him inside the bag and zips it close. “How is it in there?”
“Pretty good,” he replies in a muffled voice.
“Good than let’s go.”

-----
As they reached the location, they see their heavy weapons man shouting at the van driving away from him. “Come back you belching v****a! WE NEED A LIFT!”
“Scared away our first ride home?” Moon asked him.
“The b***h wouldn’t let us in because of the weapons,” he said in his usual pissed off mood. “I tried to get in but the old woman beat me with her purse and locked the doors before driving off.”
Sighing, Citten shakes her head at him. “God damn it Angry, we can’t get a ride if you do that. So when the next car comes, do not threaten them with violence or storm into a rant. Just keep your mouth shut.”
Growling he sits down on the ground and crossed his arms in anger (as usual from him). “Fine, you guys do your thing and I’ll do mine.”

Putting down their things and sitting down next to Angry, the guys stare at the highway as they waited for a car to come by. Moon looks at the others and asked, “So do you think someone will give us a lift?”
“Don’t know but we have to wait and see,” Dave replied, still in the bag.
And waited they did.

And they waited.

And waited,

And waited,

And waited,

And still, they waited (you kind of see where this is going, right?).

Hours went by as they sat near the road as the sun starts to set. Angry and Citten were about to fall asleep while Moon was fast asleep on Citten’s lap, baseball cap over her face. A car horn broke the silence (as well as waking Moon up) as a vehicle slowed down to a stop in front of them. Taking the cap off her face, Moon was greeted to a logo on the truck door.

On the door, the logo read “RED: Reliable Excavation Demolition”.

The door window slid down as the driver sticks his head out to greet them. He wore a hardhat and pair of goggles which make the others think he works as a road worker or oil driller. “Ya all need a ride?”

Chapter 10: Crossing over

The highway was quiet and empty in the country yard, saved for the lone truck driving down the lane. The radio played classic rock while the passengers in the back relaxed and letting the wind cool them off from their long trip in the desert. Moon was in the passenger seat with the driver. “Thanks for picking us up. If you weren’t there at the time, we would’ve been roasting in the sun by tomorrow.”

“Ain’t nothing little lady,” he said in a southern accent. “I couldn’t let you stay there to be food for the predators out in the harsh lands.”
Moon smiled. “We really appreciated it.”
“So how did you get yourselves in that area?”
“It’s hard to explain it since it’s a hell of a long story.” she replied. “Trust me, the stuff that happen to me and my team mates is complex.”
“How long have you been out there?”
“I think about five or six hours.”
The man whistles. “I’m surprised you didn’t have heatstroke for being out there for that long.”
“I know. By the way, I’m Moon.” she said to him.
“Name’s Hugh,” he replies back with a tip of his hardhat. “I’m an engineer.”
“Funny, you look more like a construction worker to me.”
“I get that a lot. I built things, namely weapons.”
“What kind? Like sentry guns?”
“Yes, how do you know that?”
“We have a friend that is also an engineer.” she answers. “Look, can you drop us off at a cheap motel before you head off?”
“Can’t do,” he replied. “There are no motels around this area and it’s at least 300 miles to the nearest motel.”

Sighing, Moon sat back and looks out at her window. “So where are we going to rest at?”
“If you want, you can stay at the place I’m working at for the night.” Hugh said to her.
She looks at him with an odd look in her eyes. “Are you sure you can do that?”
“Yeah, after all, you are part of our group.”
“Group, you mean RED?”
“Well you ARE wearing our work clothes and all so you must be one of our many workers from the other companies from around here.”

Not wanting to get caught in a lie, she plays along. “Yeah, we are. We were from the mining company in the desert and we got attacked by some thieves. There were nine of us fighting them until we split up to avoid getting killed and my friends and I got lost. And that’s where you found us at the highway.”
“And where are the other six?”
“The four team mates must be somewhere out there and our engineer…he died from his injuries.”

“That’s bull crap; I’m in your bag!” Dave’s muffled voice spoke out, only to get elbowed by the teenager. “Oof!”

Hugh looks at her. “Did you hear that just now?”
Moon shakes her head. “Didn’t hear a thing,”
“Must be hearing things…” Exiting from the highway, he enters the dirt road. “We have at least 20 minutes until we get to the workplace. It’s a big place so you four will have some beds to sleep in.”
“Again, thanks for helping us.” Looking out her window again, she starts to lose herself in her own thoughts.

-----
The chained fence opens up as the truck arrived to its destination. The factory was huge, almost about as big as a collage institute. The exterior had a rustic style of architecture, giving it a rural feel to go with the surroundings. At the other end of the area, was another factory, only its exterior had a cool, industrial look.

Moon and the others look at the buildings in awe until the truck pulled into the lot and came to a stop. “All right boys and girls, jump out.” Hugh said to them as he gets out of the vehicle.
“What is this place?” ask Citten.
“Red Bread, one of our biggest bread making companies’ ever.” he answers.
“And that other factory?” said Mullet as he points at the building from afar.
The man’s smile went away as he looks at the other building. “A place you shouldn’t put your own two feet on. Words from the wise: Never go to that factory, it’s off limits.”
“Why?”
“Let’s just say that we don’t get along with the folks that work there,” said Hugh. “Now come on, let’s head inside and greet the others.”

Before they can go into the factory, the sounds of hollering were heard behind them. Drawing out his mini-gun, Angry prepare to fire his weapon as a figure was running towards them at high speeds. Hugh sees the figure and ran to the Norwegian’s side to stop him. “Hold your fire, hold you…” The sound of the gun fire drowns out his plea as Angry unloads his gun at the intruder.

The intruder dodged the bullets with a grace of a track runner, zigzagging as the bullets miss its target. With a sudden leap, the figure jump over everyone’s head and landed on the factory roof without tripping or tumbling. Turning around, the group sees a young man looking down at them with a cocky grin on his face. “Look at you chuckleheads down there, you couldn’t even hit me if were ya blindfolded!”

Ready to shoot the man again, Angry was about to open fire until Hugh stops him. “Save your ammo, he’s on our side!” Looking up at the young man, he wore an angry expression. “Damnit Nathan, what the hell is wrong with you?”
“Calm down Hardhat, I’m all right.” Nathan replied as he jumps down from the roof. Upon landing, the engineer took off his hat and hits him a few times. “OW, what’s the big deal?!”

“If you weren’t that fast enough, you would’ve been Swiss cheese! And what did I told you about going to the other factory? It’s off limits!”
“Okay, I got the picture; just quit smacking me with dat hat!” Nathan looks at the others and raised a brow. “Who the hell are these people?”
“Some fellow RED workers I picked up from on the way to work,” answer Hugh as he puts his hardhat back on. “The scout is Moon and...” He turns around to look at the other three. “What are your other names?”

“ReallyAngry,” he said with a growl.
Citten tip her hat. “Taz but you can call me Citten.”
“And the name’s sbkMulletMan.” he said, saluting the two.

“Great, as if having another whack job Soldier wasn’t enough…” Nathan mutters to himself. “So where did they work at?”
“Could be at the Red Valley Mining or Imperial Mining,” said Hugh. “They were attacked and got lost in the middle of nowhere. They’ll be staying here for the night.”
“Before we let them in, I have to talk to Bailey about this before he does the ‘Checking’.” said the scout as he does the “air quotes”.
“Damn, I forgot about that. Head in and tell him.”
“And you get the others,” the scout than runs off into the building with the engineer following behind, leaving the four alone outside.

-----
The Pyro, Bailey, was busy mopping the floor near the doorway, mumbling under his (her?) breath. The door suddenly opens up as Nathan bursts in, accidentally kicking the bucket for the mop across the hall on the way in. Angered, the Pyro throws the mop down and starts yelling at the youth in a muffled voice.
“You can yell at me later, we have some guests.” he said to the masked man/woman.
“Mff hada mmarfs?”
He nodded. “Yeah, they’re from the mining place from the desert. I’m here to tell you about this so you don’t burn them for spy checking.”
Bailey’s shoulders and arms slumped down in disappointment. “Mmmmwww!”
The scout puts his hand on his/her shoulder. “I know your sad Mumbles; you haven’t done any of that for days. You might get the chance soon.”

“Oi!” Looking to their left, the two were greeted by a man with soaked pants. He holds up the bucket to them. “I was walking down the hall and this came out of nowhere and ruined my pants.”

“Sorry Edwin didn’t see it when I came in.” Nathan replies.
Dropping the bucket, Edwin turns around and heads off, silently talking to himself. Watching him leave, Nathan looks at Bailey and said, “I’ll get the guys in here and let them meet you.”

-----
“Moon, stop moving so much!” shouted Dave as the bag was moving around as the teenager swung her bat about as she waited.
“Quit being a baby Dave, at least you don’t get motion sickness.” replied Moon as she kept swinging the bat. Seeing the scout coming back, she stops to look at him. “Well?”

“Ya guys can come on in, Bailey won’t torch ya.” he said to them.
“Who’s Bailey?” ask Mullet.
“Our Pyro. He’s the best we ever have in the team…if he is a man.”
“Okay I’ll bite, why you said that?” said Moon.
“He or she doesn’t take off the mask off 24/7,” Nathan explained. “No one doesn’t see his/her face.”
Citten looks at him. “Okay then, can we go in now?”
He nodded. “Come on,”

-----
“About time you show up,” Hugh said as he watches the new arrivals coming into the huge room. “I gather everyone around to meet you.”
“And you got quite the crew,” said MulletMan as he looks at the team members.

“And not just any crew you mullet headed maggot, we’re the best damn team in this base!” shouted a man that was wearing the same clothes Mullet is wearing.
“That’s Forest, our soldier.” said the engineer. “He’s a bit…off.”
“How off?” ask Mullet.
“He thinks that Hitler is alive and is waiting for his chance to take over the world.”
“Wow man and I thought YOU were off your rocker!” Moon said to MulletMan.
He looks at her and said, “Says the girl that greets her friends with a head butt.”

“Over here is Edwin, our sniper.” The man tips his hat to them in a silent greeting. “Next to him is our demoman, Keith, who is busy drinking.”
“I’m always busy drinking!” the man shouted in a Scottish accent.

“To the left is our team medic, Victor.”
“Greetings,” Victor said in a German accent.
“Next to him is our heavy weapons guy and pyro, Nikolai and Bailey.”
“Welcome to team,” greeted Nikolai, along with Bailey waving to them.

The sound of a man clearing his throat was heard as a well dressed man in a mask stood near the doorway. “Forgetting someone?”
“And this is our last team member, Dario the spy.” said Hugh.

Nathan puts his arm around Moon. “So now that you met us, how about you drop the getups and let’s hear your story.”
The rag doll looks at the scout. “What getups?”
“…Da funky costumes you, Citten and Angry are wearing.” A snicker was heard from MulletMan as he tries not to laugh, making Nathan to look at him in confusion. “What’s so funny?”
“Those aren’t costumes they’re wearing,” he informed the young man. “That’s what they actually look like.”

Looking back at Moon, he grabs her cheek and pitches it, making her yelp in pain. She smacks his hand away from her. “That hurts!”
“Wat da hell is this?!” shouted Nathan. “What are you?”
“A rag doll dumbass, have you ever seen one before?” she answers. She watches him backing away from them and stares at them.

Sighing, Citten clears her throat a bit before she spoke. “Yeah, we’re not wearing Halloween outfits. It’s really hard to explain it, believe me…”
“You’re not from around here, are you?” Edwin asks.
She nodded. “Yes,”
“And you’re really not from the mining business?”
Again, she nodded. “Yeah…Looks like we’ll be doing a lot of explaining then, are we? But before we tell you about us, I want to know is why a bunch of men armed with weapons are working in a bread factory.”

Dario opens his cigarette case to grab a smoke. “Can you handle a night long talk?”

-----
Spyed was getting worried. It’s been hours without a response from both teams and had send some of his men to go to the bases to see what’s wrong.

It’s been two hours since they left and no contact has been made from his men.

Getting up from his chair, he grabs his coat and weapon as he about to head out of his office. “Going somewhere?” said a voice. Looking to his right, Spyed was greeted by Vynnx. “Vynnx, what are you doing here?”
“Just seeing how you’re doing,” he replied.
“I need to get to the Red and Blue bases, the team members aren’t responding and I think something bad happen to them.”
“I don’t think going there isn’t going to help,”
“What do you mean by that?” ask the head council.
“Because they’re not in the bases.” answer Vynnx. “They’re all gone but for little old me.”

“What do you mean by that? What happen to them?” Sensing something wrong, he holds onto his sword as the spy walks towards him. Before he could strike, a gunshot was heard, followed by the sound of metal hitting the ground. Spyed drops his sword after Vynnx shot the blade off. “Not a very bright move Head Council.”
“You son of a b***h…what did you do to them?!”
“I had my men to teleport them out of this city, never to be seen again,” he explained. “I’m here to take control of your little city. But first things first…”

Two trolls came into the room and grabs Spyed. “Take him to the cells with the other members of the council before you start your night of havoc.” Watching them leave, the spy goes over to the desk and sits on the chair. “Now, what should I do to start the night? I know, place the malware into the main computer system.” He takes out a flash drive that contains the malware and smiles. “Now let’s start the fun…”

Chapter 11: The amazing flying demowoman

Bandemonium, just moments after losing contact with the other half of the team mates…

“Run, for ze love of Gott, RUN!” Bollocks shouted at the others as they ran for their lives. The four head into an alleyway and quickly hid behind a dumpster.

“What the ******** is that thing?!” shouted Bagshot. “I thought there was nobody here in the city!”
“Bags, quiet. You’re going to make it come here if you keep shouting.” Sarah said to him, her voice low.
“What is that thing that chased us?” he asked, now with a low voice.
“A Seeker,” she answers. “One of the nastiest predators that roam the city,”
“Why do we have to whisper?”
“They’re blind and can only rely on their hearing and sense of smell.” Hearing heavy footsteps coming, Sarah puts her finger on her lips to tell the others to be quiet.

Growling was heard as a huge shadow covers the entrance of the alley. Hearing the creature sniffing to catch their scent, follow by grunting. Bagshot looks out a bit to get a look of the creature.

Standing about ten feet tall, the hulking deformed beast tries to squeeze itself into the alleyway but failing due to its bulk. Looking at the others, he said, “He’s having a hard time getting in. At the count of three, we run to the exit to get enough time before he gets around catching us.”
“But what if it does catch up?” ask Don.
“Try to slow it down,” he replied. “Ready? On 3…2…1…GO!”

The four made a running start to the other end of the alley as the Seeker was trying to get in. Hearing their footsteps, it tries to get out as they ran out. Roaring in anger, it breaks out of the alleyway, taking out chunks of bricks. Using its long arms, it reaches up to grab hold of the edge of the building as it climbs up to the roof to chase the prey down easy.

“Draw out your weapons, it’s heading this way!” order Sarah as she takes one of the napalm grenades off her belt. Looking over her shoulder, she watches the creature jumping from roof to roof as it chases after them. The Seeker leaps off the roof and towards the four. “Scatter!”

Splitting up, they avoid being crushed by the blind monster. Bollocks was the first to fire his syringe gun at the beast. The syringes struck the flesh of its left arm. Feeling the needles into its skin, the Seeker turns his attention to the medic. “Oh shiest…” Running away from the creature, he dodges its massive arm as it swung it as a club. Hiding behind a car, Bollocks opens fire again, hitting the Seeker’s shoulder.

A grenade blast nearly sends the monster off its feet as Bagshot uses his gun. “Hey ugly, over here, I got more where that came from!”

Turning around to face the small demoman, it tries to run but stumbles a bit as its left arm suddenly became limp. “Doc, what did you put in the syringes?” ask Don.
“Some pain numbing medicine,” answer the medic. “Only ze strongest I can find.” He stops talking as he watches Bagshot being thrown across the street and hitting the car door. Peeking out of his hiding spot, he looks at the pokemon. “What happen?”
“My gun jammed and that b*****d sends me flying.” he said to the doctor.

“Reload and get out of there, it’s heading your way!” shouted Sarah as the Seeker was limping its way towards them. The two try to get out of the way as the monster was heading towards them. Bollocks and Bagshot aim their guns and ready to fire until they looked up behind the Seeker. “What the…?”

Heading towards the team and the monster like an air-dropped bomb is a figure holding something in his/her hand. “Flying Demowoman to the rescue!”

Before they could do anything, the person smashes a bottle onto the Seeker’s head, spilling beer and shattering glass into its head. The creature stumbles about, dazed from the sudden impact. Tripping over its numbed arm, it falls over to its side, inches away from Bagshot and Bollocks. Getting up from their positions, they look at the person that saved them.

Wearing the same uniform as Bagshotrow wore, she wore a blue shirt and matching pants instead of the red clothes they wore. Dusting herself off, she looks at them and said, “You all right?”
“Yeah,” replied Don. “Who are you?”
“BlauerAuss, the Blue team’s demowoman.” she answers. “And you?”
“Don, the spy for the Red team,”
“And let me guess, Vynnx send you here, didn’t he?”
He nodded. “Correct. Thanks for saving our hide and we’re glad to see a friendly face in this hellhole.”
“Me too, I thought I was hearing things when my com picked up your message until I saw you running away from that Seeker.”
“And speaking of the Seeker, we better get the hell out of here before that thing wakes up,” Bagshot said to the others.
“Good idea,” said Bollocks as he puts his weapon away.

-----
“This way,” Blauer said as she opens the door that leads to an old warehouse. “We’ll rest here until we head out.”

Getting into the building, they put down their weapons and sat down. Taking his cigarette case, Don takes out a clove to smoke. “So Blauer, how long have you been here?”
“Just a few several hours,” she replied. “So tell me, how did Vynnx catch you guys?”
“His goons attacked us when we return to our base,” said Sarah. “A rocket hit our truck and knocked us out and than we were teleported to different locations.”

“Now we’re trying to find a hidden tunnel or something that the Bandemonians use to escape from this city.” added Bagshot. “And so far, we got nothing.”
Looking at the Clefairy, Blauer smiled. “Well you’re going to be in for a surprise, I actually did find an exit.”
“Really, vhere is it?!” asked Bollocks.
“At the Northeastern section of the city, just a few blocks away.”
“Are you sure it’s an exit?” Sarah asked her.
“Yeah, a teleporter.” she replied. “Some of my team mates went in but me. I stayed so I can find anymore of our team. Good thing I stayed because if I didn’t save you, you’ll be screwed.”

“Finally, we can get the hell out of this place!” shouted Bagshot. Getting up, he heads for the door. “I ain’t standing around here for long; I’m itching to get home.” Before he could open the door, the sounds of a Seeker are heard outside. He quickly turns around and quietly sneaks back to the group. “Right after the Seeker is gone…” he said in a whisper.

-----
Ten minutes after the Seeker wonder off to another location, the five went out and fellow Blauer to the teleporter. “Sarah, can I ask you something?” ask Bollocks.
“Sure, what do you want to ask?” she said.
“You said zat you’ve been to zis city before, how did you end up in a place like zis?”
“My big mouth got me into a LOT of trouble,” she began. “I was mouthing off to a bunch of people and the morning after that, someone reported me and I was sent here.”
“How long have you stayed here?”
“24 hours. The worst 24 hours I ever went through.”
“How did you last that long without going insane?”
“Hid in one of the warehouses and wrote in a journal. You have no idea how happy I was when the city crew came back for me.”

“And after all that, you never got into trouble.” said Bagshot.
Sarah nodded. “Yep, that’s pretty much how it went.”
“Man, zat’s something…”

They stop as Blauer opens a gate that leads underground. “All right you guys, this is where it is. You got all your stuff?”
“Yeah, double checked as well.” said Bollocks.
“Then let’s go in and get the hell out of here.” Climbing into the entrance of the underground exit, Sarah grabs her flamethrower and turns it on so they can see where they’re going. “I was right about them making a tunnel exit out of this place…”

“Come on,” leading them to the tunnel, Blauer walked to location of the teleporter. The humming of the teleporter can be heard as they got close. Seeing the machine spinning on the ground, a smile appeared on Bagshot’s face. “I am glad to see this! Out of the way, I’m going in first.”
“Hey, no fair, women first!” said Sarah as she tries to move him away so she can get on the machine.
Watching the two fighting to get on, Don rolled his eyes and spoke up. “Knock it off and just get on the damn teleporter.”

Picking up the pokemon, Sarah and Bagshot get onto the teleporter pad and vanish within moments. Making the cross sign, Bollocks jumps in and hopes they’ll be in a safe location, followed by Blauer. Before he could get onto the machine, Don took out his sapper and places it on the teleporter and sets the timer for one minute so no enemy will try to escape again. Standing on the pad, he closes his eyes as he was transported out of the tunnel.

-----
The sounds of a soft breeze was the first thing he heard as he was teleported out of the tunnel, follow by the sounds of Bagshot swearing. Opening his eyes, Don found himself and the others in a middle of a ********!” shouted the now enraged Bagshotrow as he went on. “Just when I thought my life could suck even more, we’re in a place WORSE than Bandemonium!”

“Calm down…” Bollocks said before he gets cut off by the angry Clefairy. “Shut it, Doc! I have had it with this team! Face it, we suck as a team and we can’t find where the hell we are! ******** you guys and ******** this team.” He storms off away from them, removing the weapons off his back.

“Where are you going?” Sarah asked.
“I’m quitting this group and going my own way,” he said, now removing his uniform. “You guys can do whatever the hell you want while I’m gone.”
“But you don’t even know where you are!” shouted Don.
“So do you! And I can finally have some peace without being around a freak like you!” Waving goodbye to the group, he walks off into the desert alone.

Crossing his arms, Don mutters under his breath. “Don’t bother with him,” Sarah said to the spy. “Let him blow off steam and he’ll be back.”
“Are you sure?” he asked.
“When night falls, he’ll be scared out of his mind and run back to us.”
“And speaking of night, it looks like we’ll be spending the night out here until we find a way out of this place.” said Blauer as she looks at her watch. “We have at least four hours until sunset so we need to find something to use a firewood to make to keep us warm and have one of us take watch so no predators will attack us in our sleep.”

“Sounds like a plan, we better do it before the night comes.” Don said as he fixes his tie.

-----
The crackling of the camp fire filled the silence of the desert as the team rested in their camp site. The only thing they found for firewood was dead plants or animal carcasses (the first time they set a carcass on fire made the smell even worse). Taking the night shift, Don sat near the fire, revolver in hand in case any animal would attack him or his sleeping team mates. Resting beside him was Spunky, bored and hungry. Seeing the cat batting the sand out of boredom, he pets her head. “You’re not the only one. There’s nothing we can both do in this place. If we get out of this place and find the others, we can stop at a dinner and get some food. I’ll buy you some tuna on the house, would you like that?”
The cat meows at him as if to say, “I would love that!”
“I knew you would.”

Suddenly, Spunky’s ears flatten back and hissed at something in the darkness. Thinking it could be a predator, he aims his weapon. “Hey, lower your gun, it’s only me.” Stepping out of the dark was Bagshot, looking tired and dirty.

Putting his gun away, Don asked, “How was your day without us?”
“It sucked; all I did was walking until the sun went down.” Sitting down, he drops something on the ground. “I went looking for some food and all I got is scorpions.”
“How did you find your way back here?”
“Retraced my steps and saw the fire. You still have my uniform, right?”
“We do, Doc is using it as a pillow.” He points to his left, showing the green man sleeping.
“That’s good. I thought you used it for the fire.”
“Nah, we wouldn’t do because we had a feeling you’ll be back sooner or later.”

The two didn’t talk for a couple minutes as they look at the fire. Bagshotrow was the first to break the silence. “Look, I want to say I’m sorry for the garlic I strung up on your door days ago.”
Looking at the pokemon in surprise, the man asked, “Are you sure you’re not messing with me?”
“No, Sarah wanted me to apologize to you about that…”
“Did she use force to make you do this?”
“In a form of a head lock, yeah.” Bagshot replied. “Seriously, for a small woman, she’s got a snake-like vice grip on her.”

Don covers his mouth to muffle a laugh so he would not wake up his team mates. Composing himself, he smiles a bit. “Never thought she’ll do that to you, but then again, this is the same woman who made the traps,”
“I don’t get it, how is she friends with a guy like you?” he asked.
“She finds me interesting.”
Shaking his head, he grabs one of the scorpions and sat it near the flame to cook it. “Want one?”
“No thanks, I’ll pass.” said Don.
“And one more thing, you did a good job on the raid.” Bagshot said to him. “Just don’t tell the others I said that to you…”
“Your secret is safe with me.”
