Laying by the edge of the tall rocks that encirlced her pride, Wei felt the cool breeze blow through her fur. Nothing seemed interesting at this point, and she grew tired of the same scenery and the same people day in and day out.

Her last voyage outside the pride had proved to be an exciting break, even if it was just to the pride next to her own. Getting away from siblings she barely saw and family she did nothing with was relaxing.

She flicked her tail from side to side; the sun had brought out unwanted flies and water insects that tended to flock at the tip of it. Laying back, Wei closed her eyes and started to daydream.

Alright, that was it! Hakuna just had to go, he had to! The boy was desperate for a little adventure, and sure, it wasn't too adventurous to just go to the allied neighboring pride, but he was going alone, right? That had to count for something.

Yeah, yeah it did. Who knew what adventure he might find here? He'd never been into Mtaishi territory, though he knew a few members whom had been transfered to and from this pride. He was sure that there wouldn't be any danger. Still, he would wander in, looking for the first creature he could find, and hopefully something entertaining would ensue. His paws carried him in a particular rhythm, every now and then he'd syncopate his steps for a little spice. No good reason at all, really, beyond hearing the birds and trying to make sound go well with them. His tongue stuck out the side of his mouth slightly as he bounced here and there, he was quite enjoying himself.

The male lifted his eyes back up to the horizon, the lands before him were not his own, but an allied pride, he was sure they wouldn't be mad at him here. But what was that? He spotted someone, or so he thought. Someone brown.

"Hey there!" he called, hoping for a response. Let the adventure begin!

Keeping her eyes closed, Wei flicked her ears back to tunnel in the sound. She didn't know the voice, so she slid her eyes open, glancing over to where the voice originated. It was taller than her, and probably a bit older, but Wei felt no danger as it approached. She rolled onto her back for a bit, wiggling in the grass before it got too close.

She lifted her head and her body soon followed. While she wasn't going to approach it, she wanted to look presentable as it approached her.

"Hmm..." she hummed quietly to herself. She wasn't overly keen on yelling across fields, so she decided to wait for introductions when they were within speaking distance of each other.

The lack of response caused Hakuna to wonder if whoever it was really wanted to be bothered by him... No matter, though, he would bother them anyway. Besides, if they didn't want to hang out with him, they could probably point him towards someone who would. He picked up the pace, a song going in his head in sync with his foot-falls.

"Hey," he said again once he was closer, brows furrowed just a touch. "I'm Hakuna, from the Nchi'Mahadhi pride next door," he introduced, "Who're you?"

Wei pouted her lip out a bit; this boy, he seemed weird. Something about him just seemed foreign, and it was a tad disturbing at first. It seemed like he had drifted off into some other world, but his body here still moved on.

Moving her tongue around in her mouth, she thought of how to approach this situation. Opening her mouth a bit, Wei decided to give this guy a try, to see if he wasn't really as odd as he seemed.

"I'm Wei." there was no hesitation in her voice, and it came out strong and clear. She thought for a moment about the pride he had come from; yes, that's where she met that sweet......thing. She hadn't learned what he was exactly, but he carried traits of two different species she had met.

"So you're from over there." She leaned her head out around his shoulder, peering at the entrance to the other pride, smiling a bit.

"Nice to meet you, Wei," he said with a little dip, habit from having been taught by both his mother and by Taka. "And yup, that's where I'm from. Looking to get out a little bit, I know the Mtaishi's are a pride allied with mine, so it was a good bet to get a change of scenery here. At least I knew I'd meet someone new." He said with a grin. "So, you know much about my pride?" he asked. It might make some of his habits more easily explained if she did.

Pausing for a moment, Wei looked up towards the sky. She thought of the time she had met Kani in his land, the Nchi lands, near the lake. She remembered how he spoke of his love -- his music. That's all she knew about it, about him. "I guess I just know..." she stood and walked around Hakuna, examining him slightly. "that a pulse runs through your veins; a beat."

She bobbed her head up and down for a moment, trying to visualize a beat of her own, but it was nothing impressive. Her hair tuft flopped gently as she did, and she kept her eyes closed.

"Yeah, that's a good summary of it," he said with a smile. He didn't want to turn all lecture-y on her, and since she had produced a pretty good way to articulate the concept that the Nchi'Mahadhi pride was built on, he decided to leave it at that. His tail flicked lightly and he attempted to have his eyes follow her lap around him. He didn't really mind that much. He could have sworn he'd been here, a moment of deja vu, but had decided it was all in his head. The boy didn't yet understand the seer powers he held, nor did he really understand what a seer was... When whatever futuristic visions he had came up in his real life, he simply decided the feeling was deja vu. However, he'd had a vision a while ago of Wei circling him- it had been quick and weak, like a fleeting mist over real life, but nonetheless, the boy had seen this moment before. He pushed those thoughts aside with a brisk shake of the head.

"Well, I'm looking for a bit of fun, what's to do around here?" He asked light-heartedly. In the back of his head he hoped he wasn't bothering Wei, but he didn't seem to be. Not yet, anyway.

"Fun?" Wei stopped moving. In all honesty, she had never done many fun activities. The one thing she did that was 'fun' was climbing the council rocks when she was a cub with her sister. They weren't actually supposed to be there, so she marked it off her list of 'fun activities.'

"I guess...." she felt flustered by the question. She didn't want to seem un-fun or boring, but she couldn't think of any games or any fun spots. "I don't really.....know." she smiled up at him, trying to hide her embarassment. "I just....don't normally play games or anything. Just sit by the river by myself." her head dropped, eyeing her paws as she spoke.

"I see," Hakuna said simply. It seemed as though his question had upset the girl a little bit- not at all what he had intended. "Well, I'm sure we can find something to do together, right? Unless you're busy, or something," he said, absentmindedly sifting through everything he knew about this pride...

It didn't amount to much. "I've heard you guys have quite the field of flowers- that'd be interesting to see, if it's ok? Or... I know you guys border a lake the same as my pride does- I find it pretty fun to hang out there?" Of course, he'd never been to the lake anywhere outside of his pride's lands, so he didn't really know what it'd hold.

Mystery could only add fun to the mix, however! Of that, he was certain.

"You want...to see the flowers?" the thought made Wei giggle a bit. She had never heard of a boy wanting to go to the flower field.

"Well, you're in luck, because the flower field is right on the water." she twirled around, her mood lifted a little now that she was able to show someone else the pride she loved. "Here, follow me." She grinned and turned, bouncing a little as she walked towards the flower field. That was probably the one place that she knew best, often sitting alone smelling all of the flowers.

"It's not that weird, I've never seen a field of them." Haku defended as he followed the lioness. "I've seen a couple of flowers here and there, but never masses of them. It must be at least a little interesting, right?" He imagined it as an equivalent to the drum circle back home... The center of the pride, and a landmark. Things were west of the drum circle, just a few minutes away from the drum circle, 'I'll meet you at the drum circle!' - Somewhere central to the pride that everyone used as some sort of meeting place. He could only imagine what tons of flowers all in one place would look- let alone smell like. He was sure that he'd catch the powerful scent as they approached...

"You really haven't?" Wei glanced back at him, still a little surprised. In her pride, it was custom that all lions wear a flower around their neck to denote rank; the one around her own was the same green of her eyes. That reason alone made it a hard concept to grasp.

"Well, you're in for a treat, then! The flowers here are beautiful, and they grow larger than in other places because they're right next to the lake." She trotted along, her tail bouncing behind her. She was excited to show something new to someone else, and this something new being her favorite place in the world made it even better.

Hakuna followed along. "Nope, sure haven't seen one, but it sounds great! I've seen individual flowers, and tiny tiny patches of them at a time, but never a field of them. Back home, though, we have a drum circle with the biggest assortment of drums you'll ever see! Have you ever seen it?" He asked, making conversation along the way. He kept looking around as they padded along, taking in the sights to be seen. It was a different landscape. Well, still savannah-y, but it wasn't the same patch of savannah he'd been on for so long in his life. It wasn't every day he was outside of pridal lands.

"No? It's good that you've at least seen flowers, though." Wei smiled. She adored flowers; they seemed so free to be themselves, so beautiful. It was almost a feeling of envy.

"A drum circle?" She had never heard of such a thing. It sounded....quite interesting. "I haven't, no. I'd love to, though, someday. If it's as amazing as you describe, that is." She turned her head, her gaze falling upon the edges of the flower field. It had been awhile since she had come this way, and she missed the scents and colors. There was a green flower that dangled around her own neck, a symbol of her rank. It matched her eyes, a brilliant green.
