Sorry guys, but this is just for people in Provo, and possibly Rexburg.
I'm a fairly confident and agressive girl. I don't think twice about asking a guy out. The problem is, this apparently isn't so cool in Provo. I'm from Northern VA, and probably (I'm giving le-way for my bad memory) 100% of the guys I asked out there either say yes, or can't and try to schedual a later date. About 90% of the guys in Provo will find an excuse and run for the hills! What is this? Thoughts anyone?

I never had that big of a problem when I asked guys out. Try using food, I did that when I asked a guy to preference.

Not in provo but have sisters there. And if it's any help, they don't get many dates there either. for the most part, guys seem to be cowards about things. Heh, I'm 21 and never had a date. I guess I either scare guys or seem unapproachable. anywho, for you, keep at it. If you ever get to mesa, you'll get dates. The guys rarely ask girls out in my ward, but agressive girls get what they want.

My sister is there and says the same thing. But, my two best friends (one in provo and one in Rexburg) seem to have no problem getting dates AT ALL! *little perturbed* I don't know maybe there are just two many of those desparate "im going to be married before next month" girls that ruin it for the others who are just agressive. Scarrying guys away, lo

When I lived in Provo, I was pretty well ostracized from my roommates because I didn't go out of my way to get guys to ask me out. The rare times I did get up my courage to ask someone out, I was also turned down, or the guy invited a bunch of his buddies and turned it into a group thing. Stick with it though, things will work out. smile

Used to be disgusted with them until I found myself in one. But it's not what you think. I have a love sick guy friend and I was trying to introduce him to some cute girls so he'd move on. After a few times of it though I was getting really sick of all those girls and started insisting there be more guys present, lol.

I'm glad my wife asked me out. I would have never done so.

I just wondered if you ever asked someone out by starting with something like "I would really like to see (fill in name of movie) and stop by the cougareat and have an ice cream cone after and wondered if you would like to go with me." You have set the parameters of the date first and then they can better see if it is something they want to do before saying yes or no. (?)

hey... i'm a coward... um... sweatdrop that's not really helping huh?
well... i couldn't understand why guys would say no to you in provo. here in Herriman (about 30 min. north) guys will say yes all the time. actually... here we guys have to do the asking out. the girls here kind of expect it.
we were just taught that in Elder's quorum on sunday. 4laugh
