Spring had to be Ribbon's favorite time of year. The fields were alive with tiny daffodil buds and Easter lilies were in full bloom all around him. A light blue sky was filled to the brim with clouds that looked like fluffed cotton. Though he was tired and sweaty from a days worth of work, Ribbon couldn't help, but give in to the urges that caused him to drop his tool belt and run through the field.
He felt like a colt again, running to keep up with his more agile mother. The centaur's pristine whine coat sparkled in the nearly perfect sunshine that made his eyes glow. As the knoll sloped downward, he felt a tumble coming on and gave in, toppling over in a rolling fit of laughter as he crashed into the flowers.

It had seemed that spring had finally come. Oracle was not the largest fan of the time. She herself felt more at home during the colder months of the year, especially when it was snowing. In the snow she could hide, and not have to deal with others. But when the snows melted she'd have to talk to others at some point.
This day she had found a small field of flowers and was sitting in it, picking some of the flowers. Her hands were trying to weave them into some sort of crown or bracelet, she had seen younger taur do so. Not long after her first attempt was almost finished a white centaur had crashed down upon the field. At the sound she stood up on all fours and looked at the other. "Are...are you okay?"

Ribbon, still grinning like an idiot, rolled over so he could sit up. " Perfectly fine! It just seemed like a good idea so I went for it. " When he lifted his eyes to look at the taur whom he'd disturbed his throat suddenly became very dry. All of the pollen his fall had stirred up was floating up around a face that could have been carved from ice itself. He'd never seen skin that color in his entire life.
Never the less, she was female and he felt his palms becoming sweatier by the moment. His heartbeat sped up to the point where he thought it was going to burst out of his chest and the back of his neck burned. " I-I'm sor-s-sorry, ma'am. Did I disturb you? "

The grinning of the other perplexed her, he had just rolled down a hill. Though she didn't know the other, he could have fallen and hurt himself. Her odd green eyes looked at him, he was quite a lovely shad of grey and had striking blue eyes. "It seems like quite an odd idea." Something must have startled him for when he looked at her he had gone quite.
She stood up quickly, dropping her flower bracelet. Was something wrong with the other? "No, you did not disturb me. Are you ok? You seem nervous." She asked quietly.

"I-I'm perf-pe-perfe- I'm fine." He gulped and rose slowly up to his hooves, taking notice of how grimy he was. His body was caked with more sweat than ever now, seeing as it rolled down his flushed chest like a rain shower. Ribbon coughed into his hand, his tail brushing up against his hind leg for a moment before falling lazily to the back.
"Your just really beautiful, is all." The blood flowing from his brain laughed at him. Ever since he was a wee little thing he'd had a problem with his honesty. It may have been the best policy, but it made him look naive and got him into many awkward situations. "Would you mind giving me your name? I think I'd like to remember you."

The other seemed quite nervous, was it her? Nothing was wrong with her as far she knew, perhaps it was her blue skin, she got that a lot. Oracle looked him over for a moment, blushing slightly for staring at him in such a state. "As long you think you are ok," she said softly.
A perplexed expression crossed her face for a moment, before being replaced by a dark blush, which turned her cheeks more purple than the normal pink. She had just meet the other and he said what? After that statement her mouth opened but no words came out, she seemed shy now. "Thank you," her voice was quieter and she cast her eyes downward, embarrassed to look at the other. "It's Oracle, what is yours?"

Her blush was the oddest thing he had ever seen, and for a moment, he chuckled, mirth lighting up the corners of his eyes that had been taken over by the jitters. He still wasn't comfortable to be around her, but after something so adorable, he couldn't really be afraid of her.
"Oracle, like the seers in the stories my mother used to tell me." A blurb of words escaped his lips in an excited rush. If shamans and soothsayers really did exist, he would believe it if someone told him that she was one. "You have a wonderful name." He finished on an envious sigh, rolling his eyes up to the sky, imagining himself with such an epic title, though more manly. "Unfortunately, mine isn't as...Well, its rather feminine, but not really. Its downright stupid. Ribbon; who names their child that?"
Although, he couldn't blame his mother. She had only adopted him and raised him, the name already attached. It was his birthparents he had issues with. Why not Brom, or Ewin? Even his older twin brother, Rylin, had a better name.

His chuckle startled her slightly, why had he laughed? Her blushed deepened a bit, growing more purple. This male was quite odd, he seemed so carefree and honest. Oracle nodded her head at her name. "Yes, like the seers, though I am not one, I wish but there is nothing special about me like that." How neat it would be to have power as such.
Her blush had decreased until he commented on it. "Thanks." Oracle smiled a little at his name, it was quite odd. "It is not bad, it could be worse couldn't it?"

She was so humble. Ribbon didn't know much about her now, but everyone had a special quality about them, so he was sure that she wasn't any different. He smoothed some burs off the pelt below his bellybutton and stood, still smiling from ear to ear.
"Oh, yes," He chuckled, the blush making the tips of his ears burn. White hooves dug around in the ground nervously as he shifted to give Oracle just enough space so he wouldn't be pressing into her bubble. "My mother could have named me Sharon or Yancy, heaven forbid Bow."

Oracle watched the male quietly, he seemed to be in thought. When he went to push the burs off of himself, she cast her eyes away and heaving him stand she looked back. She smiled some seeing the blush on him too. He seemed quite nice though very truthful as well. "Those would have been many times worse." She covered her mouth as she giggled. "Might I ask what you were doing out here?"
