You should know what I'm talking about, which generation or console is your favorite for Sonic games?

Did you like Sonic games on...?

Sega Genesis
Sega Game Gear
Sega Master System
Sega Saturn
Sega Dreamcast
Game Boy Advance
Nintendo DS
PS2
PS3
XBox
Xbox 360
Nintendo Gamecube
Nintendo Wii

Am I missing any other consoles? Oh well, my answer to the question is...

Sega Genesis, they started it all... totaling about 7 Sonic games for the Genesis... Well 9 probably to be exact... counting them.

Sonic 1
Sonic 2
Sonic Spinball
Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine
Sonic 3
Sonic and Knuckles
Sonic 3D Blast

+Plus+
Knuckles in Sonic 2
Sonic 3 and Knuckles

So in total, not 7 but 9 Sonic games for the Sega Genesis due to Sonic and Knuckles' "Lock-On" capabilities.

No denying that the Genesis (and I suppose you could include the one Sonic CD) days were the golden ones for the series. Back before the gripes of camera angles and too many characters was a common occurrence. : P

Second place would definitely go to the Dreamcast era. Things just haven't felt the same since the Adventure series....Tons of fun playing through each character/side's story, and the hours poured into breeding chao could rival actual playtime in the main game, I'm sure.

And in my case may actually beat game play time - if you count doing levels again and again to pick up phoenixes and the like smile

MegaDrive wins for me - nothing was better than going round a friend's place for some Sonic 2 battles / cooperation (depending on what mood we were in). It still wins when old uni friends come to visit - although SA1, SA2 and Heroes are also fun for 2 player races.

My brother had a Master System and another friend had a Game Gear, so I was mostly limited to Sonic Chaos & Sonic Triple Trouble. Good games (still love some of the tunes) but not as good as the MegaDrive stuff.

Of course, nowadays I say GameCube, cos you can get nearly all the Sonic games on that one little box anyhow biggrin

Genesis, Game Boy Advance, Dreamcast, and Game Gear.

The Genesis games are easily the best, especially Sonic 3 & Knuckles which is probably the best Sonic game ever. The Sonic Advance series are the best Sonic games since Dreamcast. Sonic Adventure 1 and 2 may have been the beginning of the end, but they were pretty good games. Triple Trouble and Chaos for Game Gear were gems. Sonic games on every other system have been pretty bad.

Seconded. I know plenty of people who missed the initial release hype for the Mega Drive games who're attracted to the sheer playability, too.

My grandparents had a Master System, so I had some experience on that but never as much as on the MD.

These days, I'm making do with Gamecube or XBox compilations.

My vote goes with the Sega Saturn. I remember playing a demo of Sonic R at a kiosk in Toys 'R Us. It was the most amazing game I'd ever played- on par with the short time I had playing Super Mario 64 before its release too.

When SM64 and Sonic R were released, I couldn't put either one down. Sonic R had the blazing speed, fast paced gameplay, and Sonic's world breathed into 3D, while SM64 had so much content, there was always something to do.

Back to the Saturn, though.. Sonic R really stole the show. Sonic Jam had all the Sonic classics on one CD, while Sonic 3D Blast had some amazing music and one of the best special stages ever.

I'd have to say Genesis, that's what I grew up on.
