Well i recently had a discussion with Josh about a project that we were thinking about working on. The idea is that i would make a video game based on the guilds latest RP. This wont be a short term project, It may take a year or so to make. It will be a RPG game based on the The Legend of zelda bit games so it wont be 3D. You will play as matasoga. This thread will be a thread to tell the guild what i am working on so far. I will make a "To do list" Which things will be placed and when finished checked off. I will also give you guys screenshots further into the process. To do list:-Read Matasoga's Background story and take notes to feed the game -Create Matasoga's sprites.-Enhance matasoga's sprites -Learn to create more advanced custom bosses -Learn how to make better looking cut scenes. -Create NPC's for everyone in the guild who is in the Rp. -Create a test game. -Make a to do listTHE LINK TO THE SUBFORUM Here Here is matasoga in the first screen i made. I am going to keep enhancing him so this is just the bare skeleton.

And, to make it a bit easier for the main story, I think that it would be best for us to make a list of the main things that occur that are specifically related to the plot, and a secondary list for possible directions to go with side-stories for a more interesting twist for NPC interactions as the game progresses. However, I don't expect the latter of those to occur until later on down the line, presumably after the bulk of the main plot is played out.
The secondary list is, of course, naught but a suggestion from one who particularly enjoys seeing what outcomes would be possible if such interactions were to be a bit more... free-form, if you would.

Great idea Eliae. And i am glad you signed up to help me out with this game. Hopefully if i fund it matasoga will open up a subforum just for this project seeing how lengthy it may be.

I think this is a great idea, though if it at all possible I would like to see a multi-player version where all of the main characters are playable, or if multi-player is impossible then possibly a character select at the beginning of the game so that anyone who plays it can play each character's story, not just Matasoga's. This would make the game more interesting in my opinion and it would also give it replay value as you would get to see the story from everyone's perspective.

I can make it so you can play as other people. I will do that after I'm done with matasoga. Though i can't make it "Multiplayer" That's a bit out of my reach, I can however attempt to learn. There is limitless possibilities.

I'm glad my suggestion is going over well. I think that just having a selection of characters would be fine. You don't have to go through the trouble of working out multi-player. However, I would make the story change a little with each different playable character so that you can see each of the different perspectives.

That's an excellent idea.
I would have to get the input from the people who have rights to those characters for the perspective. Thank you!

I, too, rather like the idea of a character select at the beginning of the game, though with my knowledge of scripts as it is right now, that's going to be no easy task. I have a general idea of how it could be done, but the biggest problem is going to be merging all of the scripts. I'm expecting there to be plenty of bugs in the game as it is once we really get moving with this.
One thing that I am very much debating about, though, would be to at least attempt to do the characters at the same time. However, this would involve some interesting storytelling. For now, though, once I get the coding down, I'll just be working on taking care of one or two characters- primarily, of course, Matasoga. If it's too much of a hassle to work on several characters at once like that, then it will be a one-at-a-time ordeal.

metal_puppie Oh. How cute is this? >< I wish you good luck. My dad tried to make a video game and failed epicly... Yeah, making a game is not an easy task to undertake, and is most certainly not for the faint-of-programming-skills- pun intended. Thankfully, I already have some knowledge of programming from past experience, though not with this program; hopefully, I'll be learning the scripting commands for it fairly quickly, as this is a project that I believe could turn out to be quite amazing if compiled correctly.
