"Oh god, Rivener, we've been walking for two hours and you've already been to nine different shops. Can't we just go home?!" Aphismet was exhausted, his tone and his body language clearly said this as he hunched over the two bags he was carrying, nearly dragging them along the sidewalk.
Rivener floated ahead, looking in the windows he passed. "No, not yet, I still have three hundred dollars to spend." He ignored Aphismet's groan of impatience, turning a red eye to the man. "It's YOUR fault for giving me so much money to spend on a new wardrobe as a gift."
"You-... I thought you'd go to the mall and spend it all in there!"
"Pff. I have discerning tastes. I have to buy clothes that are juuuust right for my new body." The Scorpion smirked, passing a hand over his abs again, smoothing his jacket. "I can actually change clothes now, I don't wanna waste this new opportunity. Everything has to make me look as good as my ribbon-vest does, if not better. So it has to be these specialty shops, and it HAS to be thought through carefully; didn't you tell me not to waste my money and spend it wisely?" Okay, now Rivener's tone was slightly mocking, blaming all this solely on Aphismet.
"F#@%&&%^$!!" Aphi swore under his breath, sitting heavily on a bench. "Well I'm having a break. You should at least carry the bags yourself!"
Riv shrugged but remained near instead of going on by himself. He'd wait until Aphi got his breath back; he looked bushed. "Some martial artist you are."
"I'm just a STUDENT!" Aphi protested with a mild frown.

"Ugly."
Prajna's delicate brow furrowed deeper into its fair skin as it floated out of yet another store; Namini followed it, disappointedly. She had been so sure that her charge would have loved the jewelry in that store. Recently, Prajna had been adorning every inch of its half-a-body with whatever shiny thing it could find: rings, necklaces, earrings, bracelets..chains. Prajna had told both David and Namini that it liked the cold, slick feeling of the metals and Namini thought it would be a lovely idea to take Prajna out shopping for some nice jewelry and steer it away from the little charms it kept stealing from around the house. David ,especially, was not fond of having to fight with Prajna for some of his rings and necklaces back. But so far, the hunt had gotten nowhere as Prajna continually spat the word 'Ugly' at every accessory Namini suggested. And the teen wasn't going to lie, but--
"Prajna, can we take a little break? I'm tired." Namini mewed, searching for some kind of bench or ledge to sit on. The Frei turned around and shot Namini a dangerous look, which confused the girl since yes, the look was dangerous but also very concerned. "Prajna?"
"Look there."
Looking past the Frei, Namini caught sight of an all-too-familiar face: Rivener's. She felt her stomach churn as she recalled the summer event in which he had exploded at her.. but taking a deep, calming breath she turned back to her Frei, a shaky smile on her face, "Would you like to meet them?"
Prajna was already ahead of her and it began to float cautiously towards the duo, unaware of Aphismet's existence as its piercing blue eyes locked themselves onto Rivener's jewelry. It had to know where to get such pretty things.

Rivener was floating there with arms crossed, red eyes still looking at the nearby window displays and trying to decide if he did, in fact, like that leather coat he bought at the last place or not. It was a wholly involving question, one that needed all of Rivener's attention-...
Until he felt something approach him that couldn't possibly be right. Food was coming closer. This baffled the Raevan deeply and he frowned in confusion, glancing subtly in the direction of the strange feeling... Ah, a Raevan! A new one, one that looked... hm. Rivener couldn't be sure, for some reason. Boy? Girl? Cute? Arrogant? All these seemed to fit on some level, so Rivener decided not to assume anything until he met the thing. Turning to face the incoming snack, Riv blinked slowly, focusing his eyes with just as much intensity on the oncoming frei.
Aphismet noticed Rivener's sudden change in demeanor, glancing over at what could have grabbed his attention so completely... "Ah!" Sitting up slightly, Aphismet smiled. He always enjoyed meeting Raevans and their guardians! "Hello!"
Ignoring the attempt at politeness for now, Rivener simply tilted his head at Prajna in curiosity, waiting to see what this thing's first words to him might be.

Namini let out a defeated sigh, wondering if she would ever get used to Prajna's wandering behavior. Seriously, the Frei would make a suggestion, as if it really wanted some kind of input from its guardian, but just as the teen would open her mouth, Prajna would float away, its mind already made up. And here was a perfect example of this. Oh well, the brunette thought as she followed, a few feet aways from her red-headed mischief-maker. Let's just hope THIS time Prajna is more polite..
That's when her blue eyes caught sight of Rivener's owner, a man whose face was vaguely familiar. Where had she seen him before? Despite this lapse of information, Namini offered the man and his charge a lovely smile as she and her Frei approached, Prajna stopping about a foot from the other duo, its eyes still burning with some kind of questionable fire.
"Good afternoon, sir. It's so nice to see another Raevan and its owner. Isn't it Prajna?" Namini inclined her attention to her distracted charge for a moment, hoping to pull its attention back to introductions and courtesy rather than whatever trouble it was plotting. Prajna's eyes remained glued to the beautiful accessories decorating Rivener's well-developed body but it responded despite its preoccupations, "Yes, it is. Very nice."
Namini let out a soft sigh, an progressing habit of hers now as she flashed another smile to the man before extending a delicate hand. She was surprised and relieved that Prajna was behaving so well, unlike the last time he had met a new Raevan. She winced mentally as she recalled how rude the firey Frei had been to sweet, young Hazeline and darling Xiu. Please, PLEASE let things be better.

Aphismet groaned internally at how Rivener was acting. Oh, good god, hopefully the Sigel wouldn't be too full of himself now that he was "grown up". Rivener'd been developing even more of a backbone than he usually had, making it widely known at home that he expected to be treated like a "grownup" now... And yet Riv was actually less childish, it was true. And he WAS, for the most part, trying not to become as vain and self-involved as Roux was. But at times like this, with Rivener trying to look so superior, Aphismet wasn't so sure...
"Ah, good afternoon. Uh... I seem to remember you from somewhere. You must have been at some of the recent Lab events, since you're a guardian, maybe I met you there? I'm sorry if I don't recall your name... I'm Aphismet, pleased to meet you, miss-..." Aphismet took the offered hand gently, shaking it with a smile but still looking rather nervous for the Raevans. He could pick up on this girl's discomfort too, meaning her own Raevan must not be the easiest to get along with... Ugh, could this spell disaster?
Rivener kept his arms crossed, smirking and straightening his head as the other Raevan finally spoke, althrough only through prompting. Red eyes flicked over to the girl, and for a moment Riv wondered where he'd seen her before. For some reason he disliked her instantly, but he couldn't really recall why. Hmph. Well, enough about the human. This little snack was much more interesting.
The Scorpion began floating around Prajna slowly, like a wolf circling its prey, judging it. Was it really food? Was it tasty? Hm, why was Rivener thinking he could eat another Raevan? Curiosity burned, but he wasn't about to harm someone else on a whim, he didn't do that anymore. So despite how tempting it was to taste, Rivener kept himself in check.
"So, your name is Prajna." Riv's voice was low and confident. "I am Rivener." Riv didn't offer his hand or anything like that. For some reason he felt like he didn't need to. This was food after all. You didn't normally introduce yourself to a meal. Red eyes flashed with mild superiority, basically demanding an answer of some kind.

"I was just thinking the same thing," Namini laughed nervously, trying her best to hide the fact that her mind was still concerned over Prajna. "It's a pleasure to meet you Mr. Aphismet. I'm Namini, Namini Nao. I participated in a summer festival a while back. I made the winning entry for the cook-off, perhaps you were a contestant in that..?"
As the seconds ticked by, Namini's mind was beginning to piece their acquaintance together, though slowly. Rivener had been at the summer festival too, but it seemed now that he didn't remember Namini's face or that he didn't care to remember. Thank goodness. But this man..The brunette stared at his white hair curiously. Surely she would have noticed someone with that kind of hair..Maybe he was the mystery man with the creepy fro who had now turned his hair white? She held back a chuckle. The Lab was definitely involved with an assortment of people.
While Namini proceeded to chit-chat with the stranger-guardian, Prajna's cerulean eyes trailed Rivener. The older Sigel was circling around it like the Frei had seen some beasts do on television. What had those creatures been called? Oh yes. Sharks. Prajna did not move nor flinch though as it had seen some people do when sharks were around, but simply floated calmly in place; It could tell that Rivener was having second-thoughts about itself and couldn't help but smirk as well. This could be fun..
Finally, after the Scorpion had seemingly finished its inspection, it spoke and Prajna found itself somewhat drawn to the other's low but silky voice, "I am Rivener."
"Riv..Rivener. Rivener" Prajna purred back to the Sigel before breaking out into a devilish grin. It peered out at Namini from the corner of its eye, seeing her extend a gracious hand to Aphismet and copied her; The Frei didn't want to make enemies with someone as...pretty or at least prettily dressed as this male, so courtesy was necessary to win him over.
"How are you, Rivener?" Prajna ended the question with a flirtatious pitching of its androgynous voice.

Aphismet wracked his brain, but either the exhaustion was getting to him or he simply hadn't met her for that long. The Summer festival was a while ago... "Hmm, no, I didn't enter that... I was mostly sitting with Chloe and I participated in the paintball war... Perhaps there? Or maybe you met my brother Isikoro?" Aphi remembered teasing the boy mercilessly on the way home, something about a gaggle of girls gathered around him... ah, perhaps this little lady had been one of those?
Rivener enjoyed that this Raevan wasn't the kind who'd cower. It simply watched and waited to see what Riv would do, and once the Scorpion had offered his name the frei tasted it a few times, turning it around in a purring tone. Then, grinning and glancing over at its guardian like it was about to do something bad, it extended a hand and tried to flirt.
Flirt. It tried to flirt with Rivener. The Scorpion laughed in amusement, taking the offered hand but still unable to let go of the impression of superiority. He felt like a cat batting a mouse around, just toying with his food. Although he still didn't know if he'd take a bite or not... "I'm good, Praaaaajna," Rivener purred back, taking the hand and, instead of shaking it in greeting, pulled the other closer to look down at it with half-lidded ruby eyes. If this Prajna wanted to flirt, Rivener would show him how it's done.
From up close, Rivener examined the other's features. Striking blue eyes, hair of similar color as Riv's, although it was more prevalently red with a dark spot, whereas Rivener's was mostly black with streaks of red. One single golden earring, and a cute little hat that Rivener smirked at. Pretty feathery wings like a crow's. Not bad. Girl, boy, who cared. "You're cute. I could eat you up." He grinned, showing off his fangs, looking dangerously like he was actually considering doing just that.

Namini let out a small, girlish gasp at the mention of her companion and burst into genuine bliss, "Of course I met Isi! He's a really nice b--Ohmigosh! You're Isi's brother!"
Namini's face immediately burst into flames, her cheeks resembling the color of Prajna's clothing and hair. She had to calm down! Oh, she had to make a good impression! The teen covered her mouth immediately after the exclamation before letting out a nervous laugh. She was definitely freaking out but for what reason, who exactly knew? Not Namini herself. That's when the brunette realized which Summer Festival Aphismet was referring to.
"Oh, sorry about that. I guess you just..took me by surprise...Anyways, I was at that festival as well. I was in the limbo competition and my brother, David, participated in paintball. He sure got a beating in that event. Did you happen to meet him? ...Or shoot him?" she laughed. Now that the two guardians had reached common ground, any attempt at restraining Prajna was lost.
Speaking of the mischievous Frei, Prajna seemed to have bitten off more than it could chew. As Rivener pulled Namini's charge inwardly against his newly formed torso, the fiery Frei couldn't help but let out a small gasp. Who did this ...this Rivener think he was? But Prajna kept its cool as its fingers brushed against cool surfaces of some of Rivener's bracelets and rings. It had a goal to remember and nothing would stop it from finding out where it could possess such loveliness. With this in mind, as Rivener purred wickedly in the Frei's ear, Prajna grinned ear to ear as seductively as possible, recalling the smirks of devious women from daytime soap operas. Nothing could stop this Raevan on its quest. Luckily, as well, Rivener wasn't too bad on the eyes. Prettier than any of the meatheads Prajna had spotted on television. Especially his smile.
"Oh? ...Really now?" With their hands still intertwined, Prajna flapped its wings delicately, to raise itself a few notches higher, to bring itself up to Rivener's collarbone as it breathed heavily against his nape, "Then why no try me out?" A dangerous chuckle finished the suggestion off.
Thank goodness Namini was too absorbed in conversation to see what her "innocent" Prajna was doing.

Aphismet laughed at the reaction. Ah, so this girl HAD been one of those fluttering around Isi that time. How amusing. The chef grinned widely, tilting his head as she mentioned a "David"... Hm, that rang a bell, but Aphi wasn't sure he was recalling correctly.
"David, David... Could it be possible that he was the one carrying my friend Ebony Shade into the ocean against her will?" The white-haired man laughed as he remembered nearly facing off with that person, until he'd finally realized they'd just been playing around. That guy had been rather friendly after that, but Aphi couldn't quite recall if his name had been David or not...
"And you've met Isi, hm? I have to say, it's nice to meet people who didn't instantly take a dislike to him. He can be rather terse." As Namini, Aphismet wasn't paying much attention to Rivener anymore, too busy recalling the Summer Festival.
But ohhhh, he SHOULD be paying attention to Rivener. The Scorpion was rather amused, but his wicked-looking wings were flaring slightly, shivering just enough that the leathery ends of the wings were vibrating. Riv didn't know what game exactly this Prajna was playing at, but it certainly didn't know where The Line was. Leaning in, whispering like that, smiling in that devious way... Offering a taste to the star-eating Sigel.
Well, Rivener couldn't say he hadn't tried very hard to keep control. "Mnh, don't mind if I do, then." Chuckling darkly, Rivener leaned down and stuck out his tongue, licking at Prajna's neck, taking in the taste of not only the skin but also the Star-Essence that made up this Raevan. Rivener's rune glowed a tad brighter as it usually did when he fed.
Hmm, different. Not the crisp, clear taste of the sky, like lemonade... Far from it. Thick, rich, down-to-earth flavors, like coffee. Delicious. "You taste gooooood," Rivener purred, floating closer and slipping an arm possessively around the half-body, pulling it to himself and licking again. "MMmmmm..."

Namini let out another soft laugh as she took in Aphismet's reaction: So he had met her brother. The teen nodded and then began to use her hands to try and describe her brother, "Probably. He's about this tall -she placed one hand around a height of 5'10"- and he's usually wearing some kind of scowl or saying something rude...to men at least. I'm sorry if he was bitter to you in any way."
As Namini listened to Aphismet's description of Isi, she couldn't help but laugh a little harder. Isi had seemed mature and maybe a little terse, but nothing she couldn't handle. What she HAD been distracted by at the last festival was..
"Uhm..Excuse Mr. Aphismet..but.. If this out of line, I completely understand but.. but..what is the relationship between your brother and this other girl? She has brown hair like me but it's straight and she looks nice but says some..biting things," The teen's face flustered as she quickly realized how silly and inappropriate this was probably sounding so she attempted to correct herself. "I mean..They were like..fighting at the festival! So I was just curious."
Now, two people who were definitely not fighting though were the Raevans floating dangerously close to one another a few feet away. Prajna had been smirking confidently as Rivener leaned into its neck but the minute the Scorpion's tongue had made contact with its skin, the Frei jumped. What was this feeling? Prajna winced as Rivener purred sweet nothings into its ear and went in for another lick. the feeling of the first lick still embedded in its mind. The Frei wasn't quite sure what to make of the sensation rushing through its half-torso; Part of it was nice, very nice, warm even, but the other part was stinging, like a small pinch. But with the second lick, the intertwined sensation grew stronger and Prajna was beginning to dislike the confusion overwhelming itself.
What should it do?!
By the time a slender arm curled itself around Prajna's body, or perhaps lack of body and ribbon, the Frei had made its decision. Holding back a pained look, unknown to itself that its rune was flickering back and forth from an intense shine to a dull glimmer, Prajna unlocked its fingers from Rivener's and, using both of its delicate hands, pulled the Scorpion's face to its, attempting to smile warmly, "No more. Not until you tell me...where to buy this- Prajna playfully raised its fingers against Rivener's collar- and this."
The Frei lifted one of Rivener's hands and eyed the rings dancing upon them. It did not just endure that pain for nothing. It. wanted. shinies.

Aphismet nodded. Yep, that sounded like the guy, alright. "I did meet him, and while he was rather rude and bitter at first, he came around. Nice guy, after that. Just had to be talked to logically, and he calmed right down." Aphi smiled, recalling how baffled and confused David had seemed when all his rude comments were replied to with cool, calm, friendly logic. It had been rather amusing.
The chef's smile grew to a wide knowing grin as Namini went on to ask about Isi and what very clearly sounded like Lillian Maevin. When it was mentioned that they'd been fighting, Aphi was positive that it was indeed Lil they were talking about.
"Oh, her? That's Lillian, she's a friend of the family. She and Isi have never really gotten along, but they seem to find a lot of fun in picking on each other... Whyyyy? Hm? Do you perhaps wonder if Isi was taken already?" The chef's dark eyes glittered with mischief, amused. He liked teasing younger people about this kind of thing, although he should really mind his own business. He just wanted to see her reaction, he promised himself, then he'd stop.
Rivener was about to take another lick of that delicious flavor, actually feeling like he was filling up on something and not just tasting, when the prey's hands suddenly alighted on his face, forcing him to look at those blue eyes. Rivener blinked in mild shock; what the hell? This PREY thought it had the right to just shove his attention around wherever it wanted? The dark frown that pulled Riv's eyebrows down showed clearly what he thought of this behavior, but the hands moved quickly to instead motion to the Scorpion's adornments, asking where to buy this.
"Nowhere," Rivener said with a very clear tone of superiority. "These are MINE, I was born with them. And YOU, where do you get off trying to demand things of ME. Don't you realize what you are to me?" Grinning viciously, Riv leaned down and whispered in the frei's ear. "You're my FOOD. I EAT you. You don't get to tell me what to do, you just thank your lucky stars, heh, that I let you live and not devour you whole. Got it?" Rivener smirked, enjoying the small joke he hadn't realized until he'd said it.
"But, hm, if you want this..." Rivener pulled away to look at Prajna's face again, lifting one hand to motion to one ring, his smallest one, "if you want this ring, I could give it to you... Depending on what you think you can do in exchange." The Scorpion grinned, enjoying this thoroughly. He wanted to see what Prajna would offer, if anything. Or maybe the Raevan was scared senseless now. Not that Riv cared anymore. He'd decided: Prajna was FOOD.

"Oh yes. Definitely David. I'm glad he met such a level-headed person like yourself. Maybe he'll be able to pick up a few thing--Huh?" Namini cut herself short as Aphismet smirked and emphasized his 'taken' in reference to his younger brother. A predictable blush played across Namini's doll-like features as her sapphire eyes darted about, looking for something to focus on, "Oh n-no no no. Isi's just a very dear fr-friend to me. I. I was simply concerned! I didn't want to-to..TO get on anyone's bad side."
Namini began twirling the ends of her auburn hair to keep herself calm, though it was proving worthless.
As Prajna took in Rivener's sudden grimace, the Frei felt a sudden defensiveness churning within itself. The older Raevan spat out harshly toned words and ...rules and finally, Prajna felt its own smirk curl downwards into a bitter frown. If it was one thing that Prajna could not stand, it was being told what to do. This was obvious in its treatment to its other guardian, David; Whenever David was with the charge, it would simply do as it pleased. With Namini, it was on somewhat of a leash, but that was simply because there was a pang of guilt whenever the Frei went full out and disobeyed her; She was just too nice for Prajna's tastes.
But this Rivener..No. He would not be an exception like Xiu and Namini. Not even if he had beautiful things all over him! He had a terrible mouth! Saying such rude things to Prajna! No..No..he was no exception..No, not even if..if.. he had..shinies--
Prajna mentally kicked itself with nonexistent legs as it took in Rivener's proposal. The ring was small but oh so darling, so familiar in its gleam. Prajna bit its lower lip as it attempted to resist temptation ..before it got a brilliant idea. The dark smile returned to its lips.
"If Rivener gives Prajna that, then Prajna will give Rivener wonderful taste. Something special tasting and only for Rivener.." the Frei hissed dangerously in the Sigel's ear, this time attempting to show some form of aggressiveness rather than its typical charm.

Aphismet chuckled at the wonderfully adorable blush across the girl's features. Okay, enough teasing, he told himself. "I'm sure you're not on anyone's bad side, Namini. Relax, it's okay, I'm sorry for insinuating things. Here, sit, you look tired." Well really, she mostly looked embarrassed, but Aphi figured sitting down would be a good cure for that too.
Rivener tilted his head, wondering what was possibly going through his snack's mind. It was definitely interesting to see the expressions that blatantly crossed those features: displeasure, temptation, a sudden idea and a sultry smile. Prajna's voice, when it came, did not sound as scared as a walking snack SHOULD be in Rivener's opinion, but he was too curious to see what would come next to really put up a fuss about it. Chuckling, Riv unlaced his arms from around the Fallen Star frei, clawed fingers slooowly pulling off the ring from his finger and holding it up for them both to look at although the Scorpion's red eyes focused solely on Prajna's blue.
"I have to say I'm curious. Here," the Sigel declared with his best honey-coated voice, eye half-lidded and sultry although his smile showed too much fang to be considered seductive. Rivener lowered the ring into Prajna's hands, releasing it. "...all yours." The Scorpion bristled, flaring his wings wide. He half-expected his "something special" to be a slap or some other laughable attack, and so he was ready for it, clawed fingers twitching. A Frei, thinking it could strike a Sigel so easily? Hmph. But then again, maybe the surprise WOULD be something tasty. Riv tilted his head. "So?"

A soft "Thank you" was all Namini could muster as she graciously took the seat besides Aphismet. He really was a kind man and the brunette was easily able to sense the similarity between Isi and him. Letting out a small sigh, hoping to relieve the sense of tiredness from her shoulders, Namini finally glanced around, wondering how well Rivener and her charge were getting along. Oh. They seemed to be doing well. Why, Rivener had even presented Prajna with one of his rings, how kind. But something in the back of Namini's mind told her to be cautious of the situation. Without turning her eyes off of the pair, Namini whispered concernedly to Aphismet, "Is..Rivener usually this nice to new people?"
Prajna was thankful to feel Rivener's arms untangle themselves from its somewhat formed torso but it also felt a little..disappointed. He had been so pretty when he smiled but once he opened his mouth, once he slid his tongue against someone's neck, he was no good, no good at all. Prajna expected the older male to float back to its owner and demand to leave since Prajna had been pretty vague in its side of the deal, but was surprised to see, instead, Rivener slipping the small ring off of his finger. He couldn't be..No! He was supposed to be mean and.. THE RING WAS OFF. It was IN Prajna's hands!
The fiery Frei widened its bright eyes at the small decoration, twisting it this way and that around its fingers until it found that the ring fit nicely on its ring finger. It was just perfect there and Prajna couldn't help but smile. Any feeling of dislike for Rivener was now replaced with admiration; Oh the wonders of gifts. But now the Frei was placed with a difficult question: What was Rivener's "special tasting gift" supposed to be? Ooooh yes.
Namini did not like the way Prajna's lips were curling.
"So? So now we see," Prajna purred as it grabbed Rivener's collar and pulled him into a violently passionate kiss. The bee-stinging sensation immediately raced down Prajna's jawline then its shoulders to finally end terribly at its fingertips before the Frei finished the lip-locking with a quick bite of Rivener's lower lip. Was that right? Had Prajna copied those movies correctly? ...A blush rose to Prajna's cheek as it asked meekly, its pride riding on the line, "...Was that tasty-good?"
Namini's face was aflame.
