Josh’s truck slowly crept down the road leading to…
“LuLu! For goodness sake I need the map!!!” Josh thrust a hand out to the blond raevan seated next to him. The other one kept a firm grip on the steering wheel. The petite raevan fumbled with the map and pulled it away from Josh just as he made a motion to grab it from her subtle grasp. She shook her head vigorously. “No.” A few strands of her fair hair worked their way from a loose bun positioned atop her head. The blond locks splayed across her shoulders; three hours of Josh playing ‘hair stylist’ with her were easily destroyed. Josh frowned deeply at the girl and decided to switch up his game. A warm smile tugged at his lips and he just barely peered off the road to look at the frei. “What do I have to do for you to give me that map LuLu?” The raevan pursed her lips thought fully and tapped a delicate finger against her chin. Her ears perked as she stumbled across the answer she was looking for so thoughtfully. “A new dolly.” Josh’s smile fell from his face. So much for the new course of action. “B-but, I already got you a new dress.” Sure enough, LuLu donned a freshly purchased summer dress. She tugged at its shear red cotton and nodded resolutely .“A new dolly” Josh huffed and was about to protest when he noticed another road pass by. One that could have led to the Delarian household…. “Fine! You’ll get a new dolly when we go home. Can I please see the map?” LuLu smiled her usual saccharine smile at Josh and let a faint giggle pass from her lips. “Yes.”
Josh tugged the map from her and kept his eyes fixed on her for a few second as if she would suddenly rear back to pilfer his precious map again and make more outrageous demands. Finally, he looked down at the map just in time to see that they had passed by the correct road… four miles back. The boy bit his lip in frustration and almost shot a glare at LuLu. Unfortunately, the raevan’s attention was already absorbed in playing with a strand of hair. Her slim finger tangled and untangled in the blond tress as a look of pure bliss glazed her features. The boy huffed out all his anger. He did not believe that he could ever stay upset at her. Josh’s anger melted away while he turned the car around.
Sooner or later, they pulled up to the Delarian household and paused in the driveway. Josh stared dumb founded. It wasn’t often that he saw a home more than two stories tall in Aekea. At least, one that wasn’t a dingy $200-a-month apartment complex. He motioned to LuLu to get out of the truck with him. He stopped and peered back at her. His voice was soft yet stern as he spoke, “Remember to behave…. and get the flowers, dear.” Josh felt it was necessary to get Isi and Eiry something for the way they had helped him. He only hoped the flowers would repay their patience with him. LuLu acquiesced to Josh’s request and grabbed the bouquet of assorted Spring flowers next to her. She waited for him to get a adequate distance away before she plucked a brilliant red flower from the bouquet . She concluded that they would not miss one little bud.
Josh approached the door and knocked against it briskly. LuLu followed close and seemed to shuffle behind him. She never took well to new places…

There was a knock at the door. Rivener figured that was "The Guests". He hadn't really been told much about it, the discussion having happened mostly between Isi and Aphi. All Riv knew was that someone was coming over, and he assumed it wasn't going to be someone he knew. Therefore, the Scorpion was not really looking forward to being given the task of opening the door right in the middle of one of his favorite TV shows. The knock, however, would probably not be heard by the other family members. Aphismet was upstairs, and honestly Riv wasn't sure where Isi and Eiry were.
Sighing tolerantly, the Sigel floated up from the couch and made his way to the door, pausing by the entryway mirror to run a hand through his hair and adjust his clothes, simply out of habit. He always wanted to look good and make a good impression, after all. Finding himself suitably stunning, Rivener opened the front door.
He blinked for a moment, appearing nonchalant. "Welcome," he said with a casual smile. "You must be Isi's guests? Come in. I'm Rivener." The Scorpion tried to look like he didn't care much, but he was rather floored by the cute little thing in the sundress. Those ears were simply adorable. This girl wasn't a sultry someone like Lucia, she was... hm, she was so cute and innocent. Like Sevilin! Only, a girl. Rivener smiled brightly at her in particular. "Hello," he offered just for her.
"Rivener, is that the guests?" Aphi yelled from upstairs, barely heard.
Riv sighed, turning to the stairs. "Yes!"
"OH! I-I'm coming down! Isiiii! Your friends are here!" Excited to meet someone Isikoro had actually liked enough to invite over, Aphismet bowled downstairs, grinning widely by the time he hurried to the front door. "Ah! Welcome, welcome! You must be- ah, Josh, right? And Lulu- oh, how cute you are!" Aphi chuckled at the lovely Raevan girl, motioning both to come inside. "Come, come! I-er... Hm, Isi should be here soon!"

Second down the stairs was the youngest Delaran, nearly slipping on the stairs as he struggled to swing himself down the last couple steps with his crutches. He was up on the second floor, investigating the landing for any traps that Eiry might have laid. the minty frei had been strangely quiet all morning and Isi was more than suspicious of his scheming ward. Before he could find any trace of his ward's mischief, Isi heard the car of their guests roll up on the cobblestone driveway. So, with a heavy huff, Isi called off his search and started down. As soon as he made it to the first floor, he slipped his arms inside the loops and maneuvered himself towards the entry hall where he saw Aphi beckoning someone inside from the bright door.
"Hello Josh, welcome," he said in greeting, pulling on a rare smile onto his freckled cheeks. The boy glanced around the hallway as he spoke, still checking for signs of his raevan's trap. "Sorry for making you wait, I've just...lost something that has yet to be found...But no need to worry about that." Then his eyes trained on the floating torso beside him, the new frei that he had helped capture the soul for. He let his brows raise and his mouth drop in approval, "Wow, Josh, that's her, huh? Beautiful. I..." Then in the corner of his eye, he saw a flash of mint through the walls. Immediately narrowing his brows, and scrunching the freckles on his cheek with a frown, Isi lurched towards the living room.
"EIRDIRSCEOL! Come over here! Don't be rude! Say hello to the guests," he called, before glancing back to the people gathered by the front of the door, "Sorry, he just...I'm...EIRY! Leave the couch alone!"
"Coming..." said a raspy voice, sounding rather defeated. From around the corner (through the corner, rather) came Eiry, dressed in a peacoat and scarf, a messenger boy's cap swiveled to the side on his head. He had an armful of water balloons in his arms. Looking quite guilty, the minty raevan pulled a smile onto his cheeks and floated forward towards the group, "Hah...heh...Merry greetings and hello, fine friends and fellows."
He paused, scanning the faces of the group. Looking down to the water balloons in his arms, he paused for a moment and then raised them up slightly, "Uh...I come bearing gifts?"

Josh’s lips parted into a cheery grin for the raevan that opened the door. The boy had not seen Rivener in a while. Actually, he had never been acquainted with him particularly. Consequently, he did not take much notice of Riv’s last second primping or his procuring of a torso. Josh just assumed this was a raevan that appeared unusually flawless in the morning.
“THUMP!”
A noise erupted from a staircase nearby and a hastily moving body seemingly tumbled from it. The sudden bustle that exploded in the Delarian house amused and shocked Josh. As a matter of fact, he had not expected Rivener or Aphismet to be in the house. Perhaps they were visiting too? Josh stifled a laugh and greeted the two in return, “It is a pleasant surprise to see you, Rivener… Aphismet,” He said their names slowly and spared a glance downward at LuLu making sure she taken in the information, “Yeah, I am here to see Isi and Eiry. I am Josh and this is LuLu.” He motioned to the shy raevan behind him.
She was tucked securely behind his arm and she peeked around his elbow to steal glances at Aphi and Riv. Her quivering, purple eyes met with Rivener’s own smoldering, red orbs. She froze at the greeting offered just for her. Her fluffy ears perked forward as she tried to understand this mysterious raevan. He was different, but not entirely scary. He had a familiar swarthy complexion. She enjoyed that. He had glittering accessories adorning his body. She enjoyed that. He wore various reds graduating from crimson to burgundy. She enjoyed that. However, he also seemed dangerous. His whole form seemed sharp… foreboding. It unsettled her as well as the unusual addition to his body. A torso.
She shifted the assorted flowers into one of her hands and twisted her sundress fretfully in the other. Her brows furrowed in thought. She was supposed to offer the bouquet to someone, but who? She gulped awkwardly signaling her confusion. Her soft features scrunched in apprehension as she floated forward uneasily into the house. She thrust her arms forward and pushed the bouquet into Rivener. It just barely made contact with his solid chest. Her low floating height of four feet was dwarfed by his height of six feet.“F-for you.” LuLu’s eyes were closed firmly as if she did not want to see his reaction. A nervous flush graced her brown cheeks.
Josh’s stifled laugh broke free and he stepped into the house behind LuLu, “Dear, those flowers are for Isi and Eiry.” He brushed a hand over her shoulder. He jumped when he felt just how tense she was. LuLu’s face froze in shock and her eyes snapped upward to Rivener, “S-sorry. Sorrysorrysorry,” Her gentle voice chimed feverously as if that was the only word that would take back her actions. Josh cooed consolingly, “It is okay.” He heard another thump coming from the staircase and felt LuLu jerk at the sudden noise. He looked up in time to see a familiar freckled face. “Ah! It is good to see you again Isi!” LuLu peered upward and seemed over whelmed as more people slinked from the woodwork. Just where were they all coming from?! LuLu cringed at the yelling that tore from the small boy in the crutches. LuLu’s face fell into a pout and her small body balled up defensively. Her arms pulled up securely to hug against her chest. She glared meekly at Eiry until she heard the word ‘gifts’. Her face softened, just barely, and she inquired, “Gifts?”

Aphismet and Rivener both mainly watched as the bunny girl floated in. Aphi chuckled softly, noting how scared and shy she was, yet trying to be brave at the same time. How cute! She was a real little rabbit, wasn't she? Aphi turned his attention back to Josh for a second, motioning him further into the large home. "A pleasant surprise?" Aphi asked, grinning. "Did Isi not tell you I'm his brother? We both live here with Riv and Eiry, it can be quite a zoo. And ah, I hope Lulu isn't the type to be scared of animals, there are gwees and demon-sheep and flying whales wandering around somewhere in here too." The chef turned to watch how Riv would interact with the bunny; the last thing Aph wanted was the Scorpion Sigel giving her a scare.
Rivener, as it happened, was FAR from wanting to give the little girl a scare. She was just downright charming. The Scorpion's smile was honeyed and sweet, but not in that sultry, smoldering way he usually used it. She was just so adorable, advancing towards him like that all shy and-
Kshhhr. The sound of the bouquet scrunching up softly against his stomach. Rivener looked down at the flowers, blinking in mild surprise, then he looked over at Lulu who looked downright terrified of what she'd done. She was so scared, but she chose to give him flowers? Riv opened his mouth to say "thank you" when Josh suddenly reprimanded Lulu, reminding the rabbit that these were meant for Eiry and Isi, who'd just arrived. "It's alright, Lulu. Thank you for offering them to me, but if they're for Eiry and Isi, then I'm just as glad." He sent her a dazzling smile, floating aside to let her pass. She seemed suddenly interested in Eiry and his "gifts", which looked a little dubious in Riv's opinion. He frowned up at the minty frei from behind Lulu, motioning for him to Give her something now that he said he would!
Aphismet's sheepish smile and uneasy chuckle was the only sign that he wasn't quite sure how well the guests were taking Isi's screaming berating of Eiry. Sure the green Raevan was often up to no good, his usual "hello" to new people normally consisting of buckets balanced over doors or whoopee cushions under sofa seats... Speaking of which, Aphi glanced into the living room, looking for signs of disrupted furniture. "Uhm, I'll get us something to drink. We have soft drinks, tea, or coffee. And well, of course water. What would you like, Josh? Isi?"
With his excuse firmly in place, Aphi took the drink requests and walked into the kitchen by making a wide detour, lifting all the sofa cushions and taking out any fart-noise-making things he might find. Which, thankfully, were none. Eiry had apparently long since graduated from fart jokes. Sighing, hoping the minty one wouldn't cause a ruckus since Lulu looked like she'd be scared easy, the chef finally headed for the kitchen fridge.

Trying to spirit away the displeased frown from his face caused by Eiry's wanton behavior, Isi stood aside in the hallway, nearly leaning his back against the hall as he motioned the guests within the house. He noticed, as Lulu drifted near and Aphi voiced it aloud, that she appeared agitated, probably from all the noise he was creating. Honestly, he hardly paid any mind to the noise of yelling at Eiry. It became a daily routine of sorts, something that just happened and mixed into the dull base beat of his crutches against the hardwood floor in this odd sonorous melody that made up the background noise of the Delaran home. Never once did he think that it would have an effect on someone else.
Now that he realized this, Isi did his best to smile at Lulu. It was time for an apology. "Sorry for being so loud," he said, to both Lulu and Josh, "Eiry just...He's got a good heart, but he's got too big of a brain. But please, come in, come in. Make yourselves comfortable." Keeping to the side of the wall to let Josh and his frei past, Isi looked over his shoulder to Aphi, watching as he scanned the room and made sure that none of Eiry's tricks spoiled the afternoon. Judging by Aphismet's relieved sag of the shoulders as he made his way into the kitchen, he was sure that Eiry had no time to lay any of his traps or pranks.
In response to Aphismet's question, Isi replied, "I'll take coffee."
"Flowers?" asked Eiry. His pointed ears perked at the sound of his favorite snack and his attention focused on the dark skinned raevan before him. Adjusting the water balloons in his arms and trying to hold his head at an angle where his too-large hat didn't slip any further down his forehead.
Floating nearer, he peered at the flowers and frowned. They weren't dead flowers, full of life and vibrant. Their vivacity was beginning to ebb, though. They were freshly cut, after all. "Little has the final sleep settled upon these flowers. There is nothing there for me to lap, nothing there at all."
All interest lost in the flowers, Eiry turned his eyes up to Lulu and then down to the water balloons in his arms. In his mind, a gear shuddered into motion and a smile slowly spread onto his cheeks.
"No matter," he grinned and he offered his armful of water balloons to Lulu, "Take these, please please! They are for you. And I, in return, will take from thee those flowers bright while you keep the bubbles colorful! My gifts from me to you."

Josh chuckled watching how LuLu was trying her best to interact with the new surroundings. It truly was similar to watching prey stumble through an unfamiliar forest. The boy decided it would be best to leave her alone for now. After all, she did need to learn a bit of independency right? He returned his attention to Aphi, “Well… I may have been told at one time. Quite honestly I had no idea that you two would be here though. I would have bought some more flowers. LuLu had quite the time picking them out.” Josh smirked remembering how it had taken her nearly half an hour to decide on a bouquet that had just the right combination of reds and greens. Hmm, LuLu‘s reaction to animals. Josh had never thought of that. “I cannot say for sure. LuLu is afraid of most everything right now.” Josh confirmed the fact that any prank Eiry tried to pull would probably end up scaring the female raevan to her wit’s end. Josh piped up before Aphi made it completely out of the room, “I will have water.” Josh now focused on Isi rather than the way Aphi staked around the living room looking like a man on a mission. “It is alright. LuLu is just a bit too timid for her own good,” Josh stepped further into the home next to Isi, “So how have you been?”
LuLu hesitantly made her way past the group of boys. She eyed the small congregation as she conquered each tense step required to advance further into the home. She floated past Josh, Rivener, Aphismet, and Isi with little difficulty. Her only hindrance occurred when she reached Eiry. Her ears perked as the ghostly pale raevan made his judgment on he flowers known. They were not ‘ripe’… Yes, they was the word that came to her mind. She paused and considered this fact. Were the flowers not good then? She frowned at the frei. LuLu had much preferred Rivener’s response. She had found the flowers that they had picked out pretty. Why didn’t Eiry? Her interest in the frei’s ‘gifts’ was almost waning until he offered her an armful of… what were those? They were colorful like flowers. He even had her favorite color red.
LuLu’s hand reached out to stroke the smooth, flawless surface of the water balloons. They undulated under her fingertips. Her hand retracted in surprise at just how malleable the material was. Within a few second she leaned forward again to investigate. He fingers pressed against the balloons with a bit more force as if testing the material. They poked and jagged deeper and deeper into the soft rubber until…
‘POP!’
LuLu yelped in surprise as one of the balloons burst in Eiry’s arms. A few more followed suit due to the force created by the initial ballon’s rupture. It was a explosion of reds, blues, and yellows before the raevan’s eyes. It felt familiar and comforting to her. That initial comfort quickly subsided when a wave of water leapt forward at her and Eiry before it crashed onto the floor. Her ears fell back and pressed against her head. She did not enjoy the sudden wetness that caused her sundress to cling to her at certain spots or the way her arm was dripping and sopping. Had she done something wrong to deserve this? The flowers were left forgotten in Riv’s arms. LuLu was more concerned with an explanation from Eiry. She chimed out with an upset edge to her voice, “What is this?”

Aphismet smiled at both boys and nodded, heading into the kitchen now that the coast seemed to be clear in the living room. One coffee, one water, and a glass of lemon soda for himself. He placed all three on a small tray so he could carry it in one go and returned, putting each glass down on a coaster before finally sitting as well, motioning pleasantly for Isi and Josh to join him.
A loud POP was heard then and Aphi's eyes glanced over to Eiry. Waterballoons. And now, a damp hardwood floor. Frowning lightly, the chef got up and raised a finger to Isi, quietly offering: "I'll take care of the floor, you entertain your guest."
Sighing, Aphi headed back into the kitchen and returned with paper towels, kneeling to mop up the mess before the floors were ruined.
Rivener had held onto the flowers, and good thing too or he'd be strangling his younger brother by now. Eiry was being a VERY bad friend, impolite and rude and as usual, a pain in the a**. The Scorpion's eyes had widened as Lulu approached the balloons despite the minty frei's refusal of her gift. "Ah-..." he began, but too late; the rabbit's finger had found the rubber surface and was pushing, pushing...
The small water explosion was to be expected, although the young girl didn't seem to have known this would happen at all. She was wet in very inappropriate places and Riv's cheeks flushed just a little bit as he put the flowers down on a nearby end table, rushing to a closet and returning with a towel that he wrapped around Lulu's shoulders, hiding her, ah, newly revealed assets.
"Eiry, honestly. What kind of manners are these?" The Scorpion rebuked quietly although he'd rather scream at the ghostly Raevan like Isi usually did.

Isi just about broke his grip off his crutches when he heard the tell-tale "pop" and splatter of water across the hardwood floor. With his body stiff and his grip even stiffer, Isi watched from underneath twitching brows as Aphi dutifully pulled himself up from the couch and hopped past. So quietly, he tried to release his tense vice grip, and turn an apologetic glance to his guest all the while cursing and rehearsing vehement threats that he would later carry out against his raevan inside his mind.
He swore, by the time that Josh and his raevan reached the end of his driveway on the way back home that evening, Eiry would be waxing the floors and wishing he never knew that water balloons existed.
"I'm sorry about that," Isikoro stated tersely between clenched teeth, sending a glare over his shoulder in Eirdirsceol's general direction, "My raevan doesn't quite understand what it means to be polite."
Finally able to bend his knees and swing himself the remaining distance to the couch, Isi turned himself about and sank down into the plush, still glaring in his ward's direction. "As for me," he said slowly, reaching forward to loop his finger around his coffee mug handle, "I'm doing alright...Working as a gardener and as an assistant at the Lab between studying. And yourself? I'm sure you've been busy with your new ward."
Eiry could hardly keep himself from giving a snark as Lulu began her curious prodding of the water balloons in his arms. He knew what was coming all too well. In fact, he had planned for just that kind of reaction. Her nails where large and her curiosity was greater, which could only mean one thing: Success.
So when her nail finally popped the balloons in his arms, Eiry was already halfway through willing himself intangible so that the rest of the balloons that hadn't already popped fell to the floor and exploded, leaving him completely dry as well as safe from the angry people around him.
Busting up into childlike laughter, Eiry slapped a palm to his forehead, completely amused by the reactions of the people around him. Lulu looked so confused! So unsure and surprised! The tightening between her brows as she scrunched her face into a frown and laid back her ears left the minty raevan in stitches. It was when Riv rushed and threw a towel over her, covering her wet body, that Eiry gave a great hoot of laughter.
"What blame is there to my name?" the ghostly frei chortled, "Was it not her nail that popped the balloon? I merely offered them as gifts for heartenjoy and there she went and destroyed them! But great, was it not? What great sound! What laughter!" Eiry waltzed out of the way as Aphi knelt down on the floor and began mopping up the soaking mess. "You are wet, my dear, wet! Ahaheheh!"

Josh had just sunk comfortably into the couch when a resounding ‘POP!’ echoed through the room. As if trained to the unique sound emitted by the sudden commotion, the boy jumped up and nearly leapt over the couch. A knee was already positioned in the center of the comfortably worn cushion as if he was ready to pounce. It seemed as though Josh had already become accustomed to this kind of mishap; perhaps, also accustomed to running across the house to see what mess LuLu had gotten herself into. When Aphi commanded Isi and him to stay, a look of mild dejection crossed his slim features. It was obvious that he was going to fret over the raevan girl until he knew that she was still in one floating piece. He had been a part of enough small incidents with her to know that she could easily find disaster. Toasters in sinks… markers on walls… just a few of the occurrences Josh had dealt with already. The boy flopped back into his seat and relaxed. He looked up at Isi and replaced his expression with a pleasant smile, “LuLu surely did something to cause it too,” he paused then spoke knowingly, “Do not let her face fool you. She has a knack for getting into trouble.”
The boy heard Isi out and nodded in the meantime, even reaching out to take a sip of his water as he listened. He nearly choked on the icy beverage. “W-Wow! An assistant in the Lab?! How did you manage that? And a gardener. You sound like you’ve been keeping yourself busy Isi.” Josh tapped his fingers timidly on his glass, “I can’t say that I’ve been up to much. At least, nothing like that. LuLu has kept me a bit busy, but my mom is good about watching her when I am gone.”
LuLu’s ears shuddered in frustration. She watched Aphismet come into the room and ceremoniously mop up the mess that Eiry had caused. She refused to believe that this had been her fault. After all, he was laughing at her! That pale green clown actually had the nerve to laugh at her misery!!! It was obvious that he had planned this. LuLu distanced herself from the minty nuisance and regrouped next to Rivener. The female frei looked up at the swarthy male sigel with a crestfallen pout that rivaled any ‘puppy dog’ look. Her wings gave a gentle flap as she floated a bit higher. LuLu rose just enough to reach Rivener’s elegantly pointed ears. He voice came out pleadingly sweet and covertly low, “Mister Riv, can you help? I want to surprise Eiry, too.” Her full lips curved into the smallest hint of a smile.

Aphi diligently mopped up the water, mumbling about the floors being ruined and sometimes frowning up at Eiry. No matter what the green frei said, Aphismet knew Lulu probably had a very small, unwitting role in this whole thing. This was most assuredly all Eiry's doing; it always was. Ugh, how the minty Raevan could be so sweet one moment and hell incarnate the next was nearly beyond the white-haired man's reckoning.
Thankfully the mopping didn't take that long, and Aphismet sighed as he put the thing in its bucket for good. "Eiry, please don't mess up our floors so much. It can be very expensive to fix." With a frown, the chef tilted his head to make sure he had Eiry's eyes focused on him. "Understood? ...Please play safely."
Sighing once more, the chef returned to the living room to declare the situation to the other two with a tired smile. "Water balloon explosion. Lulu's wet but has a towel, and Eiry's being Eiry." Scooping up his lemon soda from the coffee table and gulping down a big sip, Aphismet sat and threw one arm over the back of his chair, listening to the conversation continue.
Rivener frowned darkly at Eiry. Laughing at someone, trying to pass the blame for this on them, when it was so obvious that his joke hadn't been appreciated? If Lulu had laughed along, then great. But Lulu was absolutely miserable, borderline upset at being so suddenly wet, and all Eiry could do was laugh?
"Eiry. NO. What the hell kind of-... what the-... Hm?" Lulu had floated to Riv's side now as though seeking shelter there, and the red eyes had followed that towel-clad form as it came closer. The sudden appearance of that pout nearly made Riv snicker in amusement, but he kept quiet as he lost his previous train of thought.
Lulu raised herself to whisper in Riv's ear and the Scorpion really DID snicker this time. He rather enjoyed that tone of voice, he had to admit. Turning to her, showing Eiry their backs, Rivener lifted a wing to hide their faces while they talked in hushed tones, secretly.
"That's all well and good that you want to get even, Lulu, but I have to warn you Eiry's kind of an expert at this. He doesn't fall for tricks easily. AND he has this annoying habit of being intangible-..." Realizing that might be a rather big word for the newborn, Rivener tried to explain. "...that means he can make himself impossible to touch, like mist. Whooosh, things go right through him." A motion of the hand completed the explanation, as though the Sigel tried to grab something and failed. "I'll help you if you can come up with a good plan, Lulu." In all honesty, Rivener would rather like to see Eiry get a dose of his own medicine someday.

"Uggghhh," Isi moaned, watching from the couch as Aphismet returned from the hallway and slumped against a chair. He ran a hand through his gray locks and grumbled to himself, absently putting way more sugar than what was needed in his coffee. This was an old house, that much Isi knew. An old plantation home passed along Old Maasi's family for a few generations (which accounted for all the ghosts present in the household). A repair, as Aphi very much wanted to avoid, would be too expensive unless the hardworking Delaran family wanted to put in all their saving towards a fixed wooden floor. Dumping in the eleventh glucose filled spoon, Isi realized that his coffee was beginning to spill over and he stopped himself from adding in a twelfth spoonful.
"Where the hell did he ever find water balloons...No, no, Josh. I don't think you understand." Isi leaned forward onto the table so he could carefully lift and sip the overflow from his mug, "Eiry lives for pranks and reactions. It was probably all Eiry's fault and his idea. Lulu may have a knack for trouble, but she is still young and curious. Eiry is a goblin in sheep's skin."
Finally lowering the level of his coffee to a point where he could actually lift it up and lean back onto the couch to get a better look at Josh, Isi tried to relax his tense shoulders. "Well, the Dr. Kyou needed someone to help with the little things around the Lab now that Chloe has left. So he hired Alex and me when I last went to the Lab to drop off a report on Eiry. It just happened to be the right moment, I suppose. It's rewarding, of course, and I'm glad to be of help. I like to do things for others when I can. And a gardener? That's easy. I just take Eiry to someone's dead garden, he eats, it springs back to life, and he and I trim the hedges. It's more of Eiry's work, though. And the money goes to his needs."
Another long sip, "That's nice that your mum does that for you. How is she wit LuLu?"
Satisfied that his prank was a success, Eiry let the last of his giggles roll their way out of his system. He wiped his eyes with a knuckle, and nodded helplessly at Aphi. Eiry had no intention to ruin the floors, that much was for sure. It was just an unfortunate unthought-of side effect of his mischief. It wasn't the driver's fault if there was a pedestrian in the wrong place at the wrong time, right?
Nevertheless, Eiry nodded enthusiasically at Aphi until he turned away. "Heartpromise," Eiry swore, laying a hand across his brest, "Never wilt there be water again on these floors by hand of mine!" Then Aphi had gone, leaving Eiry to turn back to his fellow raevans.
...Who had turned their backs to him. At first, Eiry was amused by this display, but then he slowly grew suspicious. Only such actions would be to keep someone out, he knew. And that someone was him. He knew that stance from when Isi and Aphi turned their backs on him to discuss new ways to get him into the car without too much of a screaming whining hassle like there usually was. Eiry's gleeful smile soon melted off his face, leaving him expressionless. He, out of anyone, would know that they were up to something. He was an intelligent raevan after all. ...Just, intelligent in some ways more than others...by his own choosing. Nativity was a trait he was keeping in his freihood. So, keeping himself intangible (just in case), Eiry slipped away, intent on finding a certain floating red object...

Josh’s eyebrows drew close at Aphi’s curt summary of the situation. The boy seemed bewildered at the fact LuLu was wet as if she was expected to somehow melt. “So… She is okay?” The words slipped from his lips before he could stop himself. It was not like he doubted the safety of the Delarians. He doubted his ability to watch LuLu. Josh lounged in his seat again. He took a similar position to Aphi minus the leisurely extended arm cradling the back of the couch. Rather, he cradled the cup in his hands. Josh spared a smile at Isi’s comment, “Remind me to come to you if LuLu ever develops a troublesome side like that.” Now it was Isi’s turn to flooe Josh. Eiry had more powers! As if being untouchable wasn’t enough. Josh gasped, “Really? That is amazing that Eiry has a job of his own and you can work with him like that.” The boy was genuinely shocked that the green raevan was so matured, even more than when he had last visited. Now, the ghostly raevan definitely out shadowed his past self. The new, defiant Eiry out matched the old, quaint self from his newborn days. Josh chimed, “My mom is very good at keeping her entertained while I am gone at work or school. LuLu has developed into a bit of a spoiled child though,” He interrupted himself with a laugh, “Now she is also used the getting groomed by my mom and getting toys when she behaves. I swear everytime I come home LuLu has a new hairstyle or a new doll. So what other powers does Eiry have?”
LuLu clung to each one of Riv’s words. Those warnings rung clear in her furry ears. So… he could not be touched. LuLu nodded thoughtfully and chirruped at her tanned companion, “Sound can touch him? He can still hear? Loud sounds still surprise him?” An idea was slowly developing in her head. It was there albeit probably nubile compared to Eiry’s. Nothing some polishing from Riv could not handle. She floated closer to Riv and nestled under his wing, careful to avoid the various barbs it was endowed with. “Do you know what would make big noises?” He violet eyes pierced his scarlet ones as she posed the question.
The fact Eiry had left them went unnoticed…

Aphismet smiled gently and nodded at Josh's first question. "Yes, Lulu's just fine. A little wet is all." The chef settled comfortably after that, listening to the two young men chatting it up. They were both so friendly with one another... It was rather startling when it came to Isikoro. Aphismet was content to just sit quietly and not get involved, basking in his pride for his brother. Isi had friends! No grumpy sourpuss in sight! It was amazing!
Rivener didn't notice Eiry's quiet retreat, too busy keeping his wing up and carefully hiding the conversation from anyone else. Lulu was rather inventive, instantly giving up any idea of touching Eiry and focusing instead on surprising him with a loud noise. The Scorpion grinned and chuckled lightly. "Yes, he can still hear. Good idea, Lulu! Big noise maker, let's see... Well, we could pop a balloon, but he already did that today. We could pop a brown paper bag near him, that makes a big noise! Did you ever try that?"
The Sigel was getting into this a little too much, grinning eagerly and huddling closer to Lulu to protect her. He peered over a shoulder to make sure Eiry wasn't spying on them...
Only to find that the minty frei was gone! "Uh-oh," he whispered with a frown. "He's not here... oh well, I guess it's better this way. Come on, let's go into the kitchen and find a bag." Grinning malevolently, Riv took hold of Lulu's hand gently and tugged her away from the entryway, through the living room and towards the kitchen.
