Kwaruza was relaxing. She kept meaning to find her eldest daughter but hadn't got round to it and she needed a rest, a well deserved rest. How Tamu had managed to do this all on her own she would never know. It was tiring work and she was tempted to get Chuju trained up to help out as well. Chuju had always been the social one.
She laid herself down under a tree and rolled onto her side, allowing the shade to cover her from the sun. She flicked her tail and then smiled to herself. She missed Mruka her son. She hoped he was okay where ever he was.

A ways off, the large brown lion slowly trudged his way across the land, his mind and body both weary of the journey he had been traveling on for many moons now.
He had been miserable by himself, but it was only recently that he discovered why he was so miserable. At first it had been nice, the peaceful silence and solitude, but the quietness had gnawed at him, eating him up inside. Mruka would never admit it, but he dearly missed his mother, and her maternal tendancies he'd found embarrassing as a cub. He missed his sister, and their roughhousing. Overall, he just missed his family, and now he was on a mission to find them, and rejoin them, should they be willing to accept him.
He paused in his walk, an unfamiliar scent slowly filling his nostrils.
Salt. He must be near the ocean, at last!
One of the members in his former pride had spoken of the sea, and Mruka's vague memory of his last conversation with his mother had sent him in the direction of the water, in hopes of finding her and his sibling. Could it be that he had found the pride, after all this searching?

Kwaruza was watching the horizon when a strange shape appeared.
"Another one?" She sighed to herself. Knowing there wasn't anyone to hear her she allowed herself a little moan. She adored helping Tamu but she was meeting so many lions it wore her out! However she was able to raise herself off the ground and slowly walk towards the shape.
As she moved closer the shape became clearer and a smile crossed her maw.
"Mruka?" She called out, hoping though half thinking that she was imagining her son in front of her. Oh please let that be him, let the family be back together again!

He heard the voice before he saw the figure, and there she was, standing beneath the shade. His head tilted curiously, intrigued at the friendly greeting and familiar feminine form. It took a few moments to recognize her with the tree's shadow darkening her pelt, but he could never ever forget his mother.
"Mother!" he practically shouted, a low rumble escaping his throat as he laughed. After all that traveling, he had finally found her! The little voice in the back of his head chided him for not preparing his appearance better (as he did look rather scruffy after weeks of traveling), but he didn't care and wouldn't care, even if he was reprimanded for it. He had finally found Kwaruza!
Almost as if he'd forgotten his large size, he bounded towards her, excited and relieved that the journey was over and he could finally put an end to all this miserable loneliness.
"Mother, you're looking wonderful! Tell me, how have you been? What have you been up to? How is my sister?"
Questions overran his mind, and he took to contently nuzzling her, happy to once again catch whiff of his mother's familiar scent.

Kwaruza smiled as her son came running towards her like a big cub. Oh how glad she was to see her eldest again! He looked so healthy, so well! Oh her big baby! He needed a good bath though but she would deal with that later.
"Thank you, you look like you need a bath!" She chuckled.
"I have been well, I think we found the most perfect home! Sister? Aanga is well, as are your other two sisters and your brother!" She chuckled, she couldn't remember if Mruka was around when she had given birth to the other three.
"Are you staying? Please say you are?" She rubbed herself against him. Oh how happy she was! He stunk though, she would need to drag him to the sea and give him a good washing that was for sure!

He laughed with her, nuzzling once more against her, happy to be once more united with his dearest mother.
Mruka paused, however, when she continued on about her children's wellbeing, well after speaking of Aanga. "My... my other sisters? And... and I have a brother?"
His mind was racing wildly, full of excitement. Plopping down on the ground they stood on, he shook his head, attempting to clear his thoughts. Things had certainly changed since they'd last been together! Three other siblings he'd never known about!
"O-of course I am, Mother," he half-laughed, trying to concentrate on the subject at hand, "I wouldn't have come searching for you had I not planned to make it a permanent stay!"

Kwaruza laughed.
"Yes, I was pregnant when we left the land of your birth, I had them when we got here." She smiled at her son. "They are about as big as you are! Chuju, Hatomi and Kayin." She smiled as she said them, her son seemed happy about it which is a good thing.
"I am so glad you are going to stay, Aanga will be so happy to see you!"

((Sorry for being so late in response, being out of town + catch-up at work has been HORRENDOUS ;;;; ))
His grin was spread wide by this point, from side to side. Just yesterday he was all alone in the world, doomed to the idea of never seeing his mother or sister again. And now, here he was, taking in the beautiful scenery and salty winds, reunited with his mother and soon, with a handful of siblings he'd be meeting for the first time. Their little family had doubled in number, and he hadn't even known it!
It saddened his heart that he hadn't been there for his mother, during her second pregnancy. That he failed to be there for his little sisters and brother, as they grew up from cub to adult. Now they were older... would they come to accept him, as he was so readily eager to accept them?
"I am glad as well," he acknowledged, shrugging off the hidden fear within. "Where are they now?"

Kwaruza smiled oh how she had longed to have her son back with her and here he was. It seemed she really had found the most perfect home and now it had been made even more perfect by having her whole family here. She let out a small purr like rumble and rubbed against him again. It was hard to believe he was really here!
"Where are they? Well Kayin could be anywhere as could Hitomi and Aanga but Chuju will most likely be by the sea. He lives in the water and I wonder if he will turn into a fish one day." She smiled at him, oh how happy they would be!
"They have always wondered where you were. They know all about you, obviously." She smiled. She had told all her children about Mruka after all he was there brother!

He grinned, recalling the fond memories he and Aanga had, growing up together. That they would have the opportunity to share many more thrilled him, and he could only hope she felt the same as well in return.
Tossing his white mane back and out of his eyes, he leaned over, nuzzling his mother affectionately, feeling content with the world once more.
"Let's go see them? Please?" The question came out as quickly as he'd thought it, his eagerness and excitement barely able to contain itself within him.
He was home, now, and would remain so. After many seasons of wandering and searching, he'd found his family once again, and with that family he would live out the rest of his days.
