Aludra fluttered the wings on his ankles as he wandered around the large arcade, eyes flicking around and nervously taking in the large amount of... well, normal kids who were all milling about, making him more than a little uncomfortable. He was self-conscious enough, what was it with his father wanting him to feel even worse about his appearance and everything else about himself?
With a soft sigh, the boy went to exchange his five dollars for that much in nickles, waving his tail back and forth as he watched the clerk, an overly-enthused looking teenager. Maybe he was on those 'drug' things that Noah always talked about. The ones that made people way too happy; the ones that he saw Noah taking sometimes, though he was never sure why. His dad always wanted to do stuff after that. That part was rather... annoying. Especially given Noah wasn't a parent in any other situation, anyway.

Taylor wandered through the arcade oblivious to any strange looks he might have been getting. The young pride child had decided the arcade was the best place to spend his allowance. He was ok at games which meant he'd get lots of tickets and lots of prizes, way more than if he just bought stuff normally even at the dollar store. The pebbly skinned boy thought he was pretty smart spending his allowance that way, to make the most of it. Penny had said he was weird but that it was his money and he could do what he wanted with it.
He slipped into the line where he could exchange his bills for the change the machines ran on. The boy wasn't certain which games he wanted to play today, he knew which ones gave him the most tickets sometimes but there was always new stuff and he did wanna learn to be good at all the games.

The movement of feathers caught Aludra's attention rather quickly, and he blinked a couple times, tri-coloured eyes glancing toward the other male, before he fluttered his anklewings in surprise. Well, that spawn was definitely... extensive in his 'design'. He had those headwings, too, the ones that Aludra had always wanted. But his were a step better. This boy had four of them. He walked cautiously up to the strange-skinned boy, blinking up at him cautiously, as though afraid that his very presence would be found offensive.
"'Lo there," he said quietly, using the word that he'd learned from 'Zuba to replace 'hello'. He pointed up toward the other's wings, the first thing that he'd noticed. "Is lucky; headwings are pretty."

Taylor twitched the tan wings in question and looked curiously at the pink haired boy who'd spoken to him " lucky?" He had never known them to be lucky before. Fun and good for keeping himself cool but not lucky, the pride boy thought carefully about that, maybe he should take even better care of them.
Collecting his change off the counter he turned to better face this strange boy " who're you?" he asked curiously. Whoever he was he had a tail which male him awesome in Taylor's books, also he was at an arcade which made him competitive and even cooler.

Aludra nodded in response to the rhetorical question, hair fluffing up a bit with all the music. "Is lucky for pretty wings," he said, trying to explain what he meant, though it seemed that wasn't working all too well. If only Lironax were here, then he would be able to translate like he usually did. Ah, well; he could deal.
"Name is Aludra. Can call 'Ludra or Alu," he said simply, nodding a couple times and wagging the tail that had captured the attention of quite a few different spawn before, many of whom had confused him greatly, claiming that they were jealous of it. He didn't understand why, though; it was just a tail.

Taylor smiled " Hi, Ludra, I'm Taylor" The boy extended a hand as he dumped his change into the pouch he'd been forced to wear around his waist. " Wanna play games together?" It would be nice to have someone to play with and against who wasn't his older sister who always won, Taylor worked really hard too and he liked to win especially if he felt he'd earned it.

"Is nice to meet," he replied with a nod of his head, glancing around at the games that surrounded the two of them. The tip of his tail flicked back and forth curiously and he smiled a bit. "Alright. Is not very good, though," he stated, nodding a couple times. After his meeting with Ford, he'd learned that video games were not his forte. He liked the cranes, though. Those were definitely fun.
"Wants to play what?"

Taylor pointed to the skeeball lanes where people tossed small hard wooden balls up a runway and tried to make them land in certain rings, each ring was worth a certain amount of points. " we could do that?" The pride child suggested, it looked fun and challenging which was good becuase Taylor liked a good challenge.

Aludra's gaze followed Taylor's pointing finger curiously, and he raised an eyebrow. He wasn't completely sure whether or not he would be any good at those; then again, according to him, he wasn't that good at anything, though he would admit that he was alright at chess; with how much be practiced, he'd better at least admit that much.
"Looks good," he replied with a nod, letting Taylor lead as he would follow. Unfortunately, by the time they got there -despite it not being that far away, there were a lot of kids in the area- there was only one lane left. He blinked a moment, before painfully offering it to the other boy, not wanting to be rude, and smiling a bit, pointing toward a similar game that was just with basketballs and a hoop instead. "Will play that and compare tickets after, yes?" he suggested. And then they'd probably switch games, he supposed; he didn't know for sure, though.

Taylor shook his head " You can just go first." Different games gave out different amounts and it was easier to do better if you did observation first. Or so Mareike had taught him, besides it was nice to share and not always go first, Taylor could always go first on the next game. " I don't mind waiting." Patience was not always his strong suit but it wasn't something he lacked in great amounts either. The green pebble skinned child simply waited and tapped his tail against the ground careful to keep it and it's spikes away from others.

Aludra blinked a few times, gaze sharpening only slightly, as though he suspected Taylor of trying to trick him for some, unknown reason. "Suit 'self," he said simply, shrugging a bit before dropping his coins into the game and watching as it sprang to life.
Turns out things were actually as he thought this time around; he was rather miserable at this game. He only hit in the furthest-out of the rings, and he rarely even managed to do that much. Once, he actually managed to get the little ball into one of the second-best loops, but that was the best he did, and then the game slowed and stopped giving him the balls back, making him frown a bit before it spat out a good eight tickets. He pulled them out and showed them to Taylor, shrugging and half-smiling. "Is not very good. Taylor's turn."

" You try and that's important, Plus it's good practice. Mareike says practice is the key to getting better." Taylor replied with a smile trying to reassure the other boy. He might want to beat Aludra at the games and win more tickets but that didn't mean he wanted the other boy to feel bad about his performance in general.
The pride child's double set of headwings's twitched a little in nervous before he slid his own coins into the machine and waited for for his balls. they were large, wooden and heavier than he'd expected. This was not going to be as simple as it had looked nor did watching the pink haired boy seem to have helped. Taylor's first few tries were all off and landing in the low score zone, it was hard to control the weight you needed to roll at and where the ball went especially when you were a young boy unused to such a task.
Things got better with each successive ball but by the time he ran out Taylor's score was only marginally better that the other boy's. It was enough to earn him one more ticket than the other tailed child, which cheered Taylor up some but he was still disappointed" Guess I need more practice too."
Skeeball required far more skill than he had thought. The pride boy liked a challenge but he hated to feel like he'd failed one.

Aludra watched intently as Taylor played through the game, tail wagging back and forth behind him with interest. As far as he was concerned, regardless of whether or not the other would have done better, Aludra would have likely complimented him on his performance. However, in this case, Taylor had actually done better than he had, if only by a little bit; still, it was better than he was hoping he could do for the most part.
He smiled a bit at the other boy, anklewings flapping a bit. "Nice job, though. Got more than 'Ludra did," he said, chuckling a bit, seeming to take his defeat in good humor. "If needs practice, wants to play again? Or something else? Doesn't mind either way."

" You can pick a game now" Taylor offered, he did wanna play skeeball again and get better at it but it might be better to wait until he felt less disappointed in himself less he do even worse in frustration. The pebbly skinned boy fluttered his headwings in agitation a little, he'd do better at the next game, he was sure.

Choose... himself? Aludra put a finger to his mouth, biting at his nail nervously as he looked over all the different games and stuff. He was uncomfortable about choosing something, afraid that he would make the wrong choice, choose something that Taylor didn't like, that no one liked.
Finally, though his finger trembled slightly and his wings fluffed in frustration, he pointed toward the Wheel of Fortune game, the one where you slammed your hand on a button to stop a spinning light, winning whatever the light landed on. "Wheel of Fortune is alright...?"
