Do we have a thread like this before? If so.. I'm sorry! stressed
Anyhow, I just watched The Brothers Grimm and it reminded me of how fond I am of Fairy Tales.
Discuss whatever you want about them. My favorite is Rumpelstiltskin.

My favourite one is "The Little Match Girl". It was so sad...it wasn't your typical fairytale since the heroine died...

My father always used to change the endings.... make them funny. You should hear his way of telling the 3 little pigs. xd I was surprised that my little brother had never heard such Fairy Tales as Cinderella... man he had no childhood..... I would have to say my favorite was the little Mermaid, once you read the ending is very sad, but I like that story. I should know more about Puertorrican Fairy tales... but they usually involve a guy named Juan Bobo (would be traducted to something like John Dumb or so...) so you see they ar quite uhmm... making fun of our own stupidity........

My mom used to read to me a lot when I was younger. I could never get enough of stories. The ones I remember liking the most were Puss in Boots and Rapunzel and the Snow Queen. My parents also used to buy me all sorts of books, so I read quite a lot of fairytales.

I love Beauty and the Beast--the magical ending one--personally. It's all so prettyful. Either that or the freakiest version of Hansel and Gretel you can find.

Despite the sad ending, I loved The Little Mermaid. Another fairy tale that I loved was King Thrushbeard. It was funny and quite nice.

Most of Disney's versions altered the original endings. A girl done a speech about this and pointed out that most of the Disney versions had the (Prince) falling for the girl..only because of outer beauty. I'm vague on the details but in storybooks as well Blackbeard's (or Bluebeard) seventh(?) wife freed all of his other wives, but on the original version she said that when the wife went to the basement she found bodies of the dead wives..somehting like that.

Btw, is Anastacia a fairy tale or some kind of a legend or something else? I wouldn't consider Anastasia to be a fairy tale or a legend since it did happen in history. Although the animated movie is very far from the truth just to give it a happy ending which is usually the case for most fairy tales. Like in the real story of the Hunchback of Notre Dame, the hunchback died. >_<
By the way.... I watched in discovery channel that they found all of the families bones... and it was proven through DNA that Anastasia was also executed. sad
My favorite fairy tale would be Rapunzel hee hee actually I love all fairy tales up to know 4laugh
"Rapunzel, Rapunzel, bring down your hair..."
