Oh Venom... I know this must be a hard time for you. Like I told you before, my dad just died a few days ago too, so I guess I can relate to what you're feeling... It's funny though because I actually thought of doing this same thing.
But think about it: deep inside, do you REALLY want to do this? I can bet the answer will be no and the only reason you would do this is to help out your mother. Even if you really want to help your mother out, you won't be able to do much w/o an education anyway. So just, NO. I know you want to help out your mother, but you'd just be adding stress to her life if you dropped out. Plus think about your future too. I'm sure there are other ways in which you can help your mom out besides dropping out of school.
So yeah. Stay in school, kid! I'm sure, eventually things will look up for us... I mean, life isn't all bad, right...??

It might depend. If you're a senior, you should stick it out, cause the year's almost over. Online classes are also an option. But if you are really that desperate for money, then you can always go get your GED later. You may have fewer options with a GED but it's better than nothing, and there's always college.

omg i'm so sorry! god if i lost my father, id probably do the same thing. ive come close a couple times. i'm so sorry you have to go through that crap! i so think you should stay in school though, eventually u will heal. i know how hard it is to lose someone close to you. i lost my grandfather last september and i was so depressed and started to even cut myself. i know how you feel, but i really don't think you should drop out of school because if you do, you will do nothing but ruin your life! you won't be able to get a job or youll end up getting one that sux! seriously, stay in school man.
sincere condolences, TJ

wow. i'm really sorry. really. that said, i think you should stick out school. i don't think your dad would want you to drop out just because he's gone. i think he'd want you to be strong and finish school. the year's almost over, and you can get a job over the summer. you know there's plenty of people that would pay you to walk their pets or mow their lawns, or you could get a job at the supermarket or something. wow... that sucks...

My condolences but stay in school. You can get a job part time at a restaurant or in retail at your age; they're usually pretty lenient with hours on students. If you truly feel the need to help out your mother that's the best way to do it.

My condolences, but I agree.. stay in school! In this way, you will be helping your mother out when you're able to find a good job in the future. If you drop out now, it'll be harder for you to go through life later on. I don't know how much pain you must feel right now.. & I'm terribly sorry for your loss, but stay strong. You'll be in my prayers, Venom. I'm sure God will guide you through this misfortune, just have faith and don't lose hope.

It would be smart to stay in school. I know its hard without your dad but i think he would have wanted you to stay in school so that later you could help your mom.

If you stay in school, even though it might be hard, you'll be able to help your mom a lot more because many many places now-adays don't hire without at least a high school diploma. and if they do, it's extremely low paying and no room to move up in the world.

While staying in school is probably the best thing to do, I've known a few dropouts that are doing fine. My bf for example had to repeat senior year this year but ended up just dropping out. He got a job and is going to community college for fall term, which you don't need a high school diploma for, plus community college is a lot cheaper than state or private. Just something to keep in mind.
