Name: Gilgamesh Asteria
Age: Appears 19ish
Gender: Male
Race: Shinigami
Division: 10th
Seat: Unseated
Zanpakuto: Name Unknown
Personality: Gilgamesh is laid-back and easy-going, very aware of the fact that he is weak. He will not, for example, accept challenges for duels because he knows he'll lose. He enjoys watching fights, though, and as work he's usually involved in pushing boxes of papers around instead of going out and fighting the enemies of Soul Society.

~Background~

Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 155 lbs
History: Gilgamesh appeared in Soul Society one day, much the same as everyone else. He was ultimately drawn to the Shinigami Academy, whose entrance exam he passed by two points and whose exit exam he passed by only one. In other words, he just barely scraped his way into the Divisions, and to date he has done nothing that can really be considered impressive. His energy signature is quite weak. He now does paperwork for 10th Division, including reporting on events, and he's more likely to run away than try and fight.

~Techniques~

Gilgamesh is not very talented, at all. He is capable of casting several offensive spells, ones necessary to have learned in the Academy, but nothing impressive. Or even powerful.

Note: Below this is Rednal's real profile. However, he has worked extremely hard to keep the fact of who he really is a secret, and as such, any use of the knowledge below is using OOC knowledge unless and until it's clearly revealed in the RP.

Name: Rednal Ak'Thias
Age: Unknown, but extremely high.
Gender: Male
Race: Vizard
Status: Shinigami Vizard (Awakened One)
Zanpakuto: Lävatein (In sealed form, no special characteristics whatsoever)
Personality: Rednal is lazy. Really, really lazy. In fact, he will rarely even muster up the energy to fight, preferring to sit on the sidelines and enjoy a cup of tea. The sad truth is that he just doesn't care very much about what happens; he's lived for a bizzarely long time, and he's experienced quite a lot as a result of this. He is also a compulsive gambler; rich off of impossible amounts of luck in casino's, he has no monetary worries, and in fact will frequently flip a coin to decide what to do. He's very arbitrary that way. Though quite powerful, enough to hold his own against pretty much anyone else, Rednal rarely uses his power. He's long past the stage where showing off is important to him, and is generally content to let people think whatever they want about him. Proving he's better would take too much effort. Rednal prefers to modulate his power to the level of his opponent, citing that it's more fun to have an even match, and he doesn't really care if he wins or loses. He likes being surprised.

~Background~

Height: 5' 10"
Weight: 155 lbs
Past Divisions: 10th
History: Rednal is officially presumed dead by Soul Society. Kind of. He's currently known to them as Gilgamesh, and was until recently serving as a member of 10th Division, the squad he was the original Captain of. A bit of a strange incident occured, and Rednal was considered to be killed in action. He wasn't, actually, but his appearance did change, and so he re-enlisted in the squads and decided to keep a low profile until he figured out what to do. Rednal is, in fact, at the power limit of the Shinigami, but as part of his disguise he habitually keeps his power level much lower, almost never releasing his blade beyond Shikai. It should be noted that, physically, he hasn't aged in thousands of years; the accident seems to have made him immortal.

~Techniques~

All available Class Techniques. Rednal's had ages to actually learn them, and while still a Shinigami, he was working with and learning from the very best; the other original Captains.

However, he only uses the Cero (for ranged attacks) and Shunpo (for movement and as part of a close-range martial arts style he developed) on anything resembling a regular basis. He learned the spells mainly because he felt obligated to; he doesn't like them very much, and so for the most part avoids the normal spells. He is also highly proficient at Hanki, Jikan Teishi, and Kuken Tenai, but generally avoids using them except in unusually serious circumstances out of a dislike for showing off.

[Final Spark]: Rednal's most powerful attack, and pretty much exactly what it looks like. Rednal is capable of firing his Final Spark at any stage of transformation, including no Mask or Transformation at all, but it's with the full Hollow Transformation that this ability is at full strength and will blow apart pretty much anything it touches (though at its weakest, it's still the finishing technique of a Shinigami who's hit the power limit, thus making it extremely deadly pretty much all the time, and it gets exponentially more powerful as he changes); this attack is similar to a Cero (the Hollow power is unnecessary, just there to give it an added kick), but notably faster than Rednal's current shunpo when used and possessing the nullifying powers of his Bankai to make it nearly impossible to stop once fired... as with his sword, the nullification power doesn't seem to work on the Final Spark itself, but it does allow it to blast through things including but not limited to released weapons (no unreleased weapon has the power to even slow the Final Spark down), other energy beams, and barriers like they aren't even there.

~Zanpakuto~

Shikai: Appearance + Spirit
In Shikai form, Lävatein possesses the ability to control flames. The blade itself can become superheated for added power, an effect which doesn't seem to be felt by the user, and fire can be manipulated at will over a rather wide area; these flames are based on his reiatsu for strength, so the more serious he is, the stronger they are. And, of course, Rednal can simply use the sword normally; it's rather large, and he's stronger than he looks. so impacts have quite a bit of force.
Release Command: Blaze, Lävatein.
Vizard Shikai: Frozen Throne: Rednal finds it very ironic that the new power his Shikai gains is based around ice, since his blade has been considered mostly a fire-type for a very long time. Nevertheless, his blade has become capable of manipulating ice in the same way it does fire, and this freezing power, as low as absolute zero in temperature, is even stronger than his fire. Personal preference prevents him from using it very much, though.

Bankai: Appearance
Rednal's Bankai is an interesting weapon. While perfectly suitable for swordplay, and retaining (even enhancing to some extent) all the powers of its Shikai form with the most powerful fire-based Zanpakuto, its passive special effect is its real strength. In this form, Rednal's Zanpakuto is capable of disrupting spiritual energy of many different forms, including, but not limited to, Spells, Hierro, Cero, Zanpakuto releases (like so), Quincy Arrows, copies of this power (that is, attempting to copy this power will just result in the power cancelling whatever generated it, making it impossible to replicate this power), and even things based around energies that are not spiritual (though, naturally, it does not work on its own power). Anything that involves focusing spiritual energy for some effect can be disrupted if this blade comes into contact with it, even special effects that would ordinarily prevent it from working, regardless of the power level of whatever's going against this weapon. Lävatein is quite likely the most powerful Disruption-type weapon, and generally feared by those who have encountered it, since their normal powers typically become worthless, regardless of how strong they are. The sword is also capable of firing off beams of orange energy, which Rednal typically uses for sweeping attacks.
Vizard Bankai: The Light of Heaven: When in use, Rednal's hair becomes white and he will be surrounded by a white glow, hence the name. The combination of Hollow and Shinigami power present in his body accelerates in its flow, increasing the powers his Zanpakuto wields to three times what they were previously. Most importantly, however, the fire and ice he controls gain the negation abilities of his sword (this power, as before, does not affect them), making them among his deadliest weapons.

Zanpakuto Techniques: Though Rednal's control of fire and ice with his Zanpakuto ultimately forms itself however he imagines, and he's rather creative, there are some ways he is more likely to use it. These are not actual, specific techniques as normally thought of, but rather ordinary manipulations of his weapon's power given arbitrary names. Rednal is also fully capable of altering the power of these attacks; he usually has them weaker than full power (except in cases where they are specifically at maximum strength, such as Nova Blade, or are simply an effect that's the same regardless of power, like Swordbreaker).

Pyrokinesis: Rednal's general term for controlling fire through his Zanpakuto. This is a spiritual form of fire, and as such it is powered by Rednal's energy, rendering the use of anything else to sustain it unnecessary (though Rednal is capable of using oxygen and the like in lieu of his energy, and will often do so if it's available; even then, it doesn't take much to create or manipulate it, as it is not normal fire). The flames get hotter as he uses more energy, from a low 525 degrees Celsius of fire just barely there up to the heat level of the hottest stars (notably above the Sokyoku's level; about 150,000 degrees K) when he's using it at full power without his Mask on; the maximum is even higher when he does wear his mask. Rednal only feels a pleasant warmth whatever the level of flames, as part of the power of his Zanpakuto renders him immune from its own effects.

Cryokinesis: Rednal's general term for controlling ice through his Zanpakuto, which now seems to be dual-element. Or perhaps tri-element, since his Bankai's greatest strength is disruption. Regardless, he is capable of controlling ice at a higher level than his flames (which annoys him; he likes fire better), and he has figured out how to use this to his best advantage. He will often get ice by converting water sources in the area to ice. As with his flames, it costs a minimal amount of energy to create or manipulate this ice.

Beams: Rednal never actually came up with a name for the beams of energy he can fire while Lävatein is in Bankai form. The potential names all sounded rather stupid. Regardless, the beams themselves are essentially heat energy mixed with some spiritual power, and so rather than just bashing against things, they tend to melt straight through them. This heat can be any temperature up to the maximum of Rednal's flames, and a minimum of absolute zero (a fact which Rednal habitually hides; his Zanpakuto is flame-based for the most part, he says, so using part of its power to make things cool instead of hot is just weird; he almost never uses that side of the power even when he's actually gotten his Bankai out).

Swordbreaker: Part of Lävatein's powers, and indeed its greatest strength, is the ability to utterly negate focused energies. Thus, regardless of how powerful the opponent is, Rednal can quite often stop their attacks simply by holding his blade out, or effects they cast on him by touching his blade, which is why he is unafraid no matter what the power of his opponent is; this is particularly interesting in cases where he does things like blocked released Zanpakuto. Rather than simply stopping them, as might be expected, Lävatein cuts through them as easily as it cuts through air. The enemy's blade is actually broken when this happens, regardless of whether it's a solid weapon or not and regardless of how slight the contact was; the enemy will have to take a number of days to fix their weapon if they escape the fight. Unreleased blades are considered mundane and not affected by Lävatein's power, but this isn't terribly problematic for Rednal, as no unreleased blade could escape being broken anyway if it was used against Rednal's Bankai; there's too much difference in strength. This applies to both Shinigami and Arrancar releases, and even Vizard Transformations; such things are broken by Lävatein's power.

Burning Blade: Superheats the blade of Lävatein, making even a touch with any part of the blade extremely painful to any living organism, not to mention further enhanced effectiveness against pretty much everything else; approximately two and a half times the striking power.

Nova Blade: Requiring the additional power of the Bankai release, Rednal's Nova Blade is the full-power form of superheating his blade, making it deadly to even get close to him (twenty feet or so) due to the extreme heat (as with his flames and beams, even without his Mask this can reach the temperature of the hottest stars, well above what anyone can actually survive getting hit by); Rednal himself, as the blade's user, does not feel the heat.

Flame Slash: Pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Fire surrounds Lävatein, and if the blade comes into contact with something, a burst of flames will erupt out of the weapon and slam into whatever the target is.

Frost Slash: The frozen variant of Flame Slash; ice surrounds the blade instead of fire, and ice will spread out to cover whatever comes into contact with the blade.

Ice Shield: Rednal simply holds his hand out, and a shield of ice forms in front of him to block enemy attacks; as it's his ice, rather than his fire, it's somewhat stronger than a flame shield would be. And it doesn't actually let stuff pass through it.

Flamethrower: Also pretty much exactly what it sounds like. Rednal fires off a stream of flames towards the target, usually from his palm or somewhere along his weapon.

Frost Cannon: The frosty variant of his Flamethrower, this has Rednal firing off a flamethrower-shaped burst of tiny, razor-sharp ice shards that will cut and collect on whatever they hit.

Fire Prison: Most of Rednal's attacks travel from him to the opponent. This is not, however, a necessity. The range for fire control in Lävatein's Shikai form is large, and absolutely enormous in Bankai, and Rednal can manipulate fire freely anywhere inside of the radius. This particular technique creates a sphere of flames around the opponent to trap them, and the flames are strong enough to resist any normal attack.

Ice Prison: Nearly as simple; this creates a prison of ice around the opponent at extremely low temperatures, and Rednal's intensely powerful ice cannot be broken through by any normal technique; major power is necessary to escape this.

Solar Flare: Rednal's flames aren't all red. They change color along the normal spectrum of fire in proportion to how strong they are, and Rednal's white flames are extremely deadly; highly concentrated and at maximum force, no normal defenses can deal with them. Rednal's Solar Flare flings out bullet-sized blasts of this extremely hot flame to sear through the opponent. If an opponent is inside of his Fire Prison, escape by running away or dodging is basically impossible; thus they would have to have an adequate defense or escape from the prison, which is notably difficult since it usually has too much power for any but the strongest attacks to breach.

Executioner's Sword: A sword of flames, about the size of a city block, that Rednal forms pointing upward and brings smashing down. He usually does this against stationary targets, rather than agile opponents, and the sword's temperature is usually about a thousand degrees hotter than the Sokyoku. Rednal's Bankai is actually quite a good substitute for that thing.

Heat End: The ice version of his Executioner's Sword, Heat End refers to the death of the universe through all heat vanishing, and brings down a sword of ice as large as his Executioner's Sword but even more powerful.

Flames of Wrath: Another attack Rednal likes but rarely uses, he simply spreads his hands. Nigh-countless lances made of fire appear in the air around him and fire forward, new weapons formed as the current ones fire to create a continuous barrage. Each weapon has enough power to blow apart a building, and while they can be oriented on a particular target (all of these attacks are simply offensive manuvers Rednal has made for his fire that he uses a bit more often), Rednal typically prefers to just blast the whole area in front of him. He says it's more impressive to devastate half a city than a few square yards.

Ice Age: The frosty variant, this version has lances of ice that burst forward too densely packed together to dodge through. Worse, instead of breaking when hit, they cover whatever connects with them in ice, which can rapidly accumulate to coat a fairly large area, hence the name.

~Vizard Mask~

Appearance:

Vizard Mask: It looks like a very simple mask, with two flat surfaces meeting in the middle of his face and two eye holes for him to look out of. This is a lie, of course. Rednal's actual Hollow Mask is somewhat more complex, resembling his Full Hollow Form's helmet, but it doesn't show up if he's restricting his power (as he usually is).

Inner Hollow: Rednal's Inner Hollow, for some reason, is the same as his Zanpakuto spirit. Perhaps it's his age. Then again, Lävatein's spirit, Flandre Scarlet, has something of a dual personality. Sometimes she's kind and caring, other times she's a genocidal maniac; one side of this could be his Zanpakuto, and the other his Hollow power...

Inner World: Millennium Castle Brunestud: Rednal's Inner World is a mammoth, ornate castle where Flandre, his wife/Zanpakuto Spirit/Hollow side lives, and he visits on a fairly regular basis to converse with her. This relationship seems satisfactory to both of them. Plus, Flandre can't go genocidal on anyone while in there...

Hollow Powers:
[Mask] - A Vizard is able to materialize the tool of their hybrid power: the Mask. A mask is individual to a Vizard and is the physical form that grants them the extra power that makes the race feared. Once the Mask is placed upon a Vizard’s face, a reiatsu boost is granted. The Reiatsu boosts affect the base reiatsu of a Vizard, and thus the zanpakutou release boosts stack upon the change in base reiatsu when masked.

[Mask Shielding] - Bodily harm can seemingly be ignored while wearing their masks, as demonstrated by Ichigo's Hollow during his unwilling transformations. The Hollow mask can only be maintained for a certain period before its effects wear off: Lower class can only hold their transformation for short periods (eleven seconds at first), while the other Vizard have seemingly no limit to how long they can last..

[Power Augmentation] - With the acquisition of the mask via the subjugation of ones inner Hollow. A Vizard gains access to a additional and separate source of power, in addition to the Shinigami powers one already possesses. The accumulation of both powers together greatly augments the powers of the Vizard beyond what a Shinigami and/or Hollow alone would be capable of.

[Subconscious Defense] - When not wearing their masks, Vizards are protected from attacks by their masks. The mask can also absorb a single potentially fatal attack or three less intensive assaults. This ability cannot fully block and/or deflect attacks that are larger than the size of the Vizard's mask. Probably the closest thing to a counterpart of an Arrancar's Hierro.

[Demon Possession] - Not being a very well rooted organization, resources have always been scarce for the Vizards. Because of this the vizard have developed Demon possession to posses those humans who have little to no spiritual powers thus giving them total control when no giga is present. Even though the humans have no spirit powers the subconscious will eventually push the Vizard out, so it can only be maintain for a short period. Even with this draw back it proves successful since a Vizard can jump from human to human through touch bypassing the time limitation. But rumors have it that more powerful Vizards can maintain it for longer. After a possession the human remembers nothing and they have the feeling that they had zone out for the allotted time.

[Cero] - A high powered energy based attack that can be fired from the Vizard’s hand. There is no limit to the number of times Cero can be used, but as with most Vizard techniques it has a drain on the user's reiatsu. Cero removes a certain proportion of the Vizard’s reiatsu, amplifies it and expels it as an attack. Cero is a Reiatsu based attack, which binds together a Vizard's Shinigami Reiatsu and his hollow powers.

[Dragon Claws] - A power unique to Rednal, this ability allows him to create gashes on things at a distance; not by sending power across space to hit the target, but by actually forming the damage on the target itself. Thus, this power is very difficult, though not impossible, to dodge. It has a maximum range of fifty feet, however.

Hollow Control: Rednal's actual control over his Hollow Side is unknown. However, they are on excellent terms, and Rednal claims to have married her. Whether or not this is actually valid (or true) is unknown, but he doesn't seem to care what anybody else thinks about it. At all. Which, all things considered, is rather fitting considering his personality. So it seems to be Balanced.

With what, Unlimited Blade Works?

...

That wouldn't work so well. XD You have to copy the powers, not make them up. Lävatein's power does not work on itself. And itself alone. Copy the power to a new sword, and the power WOULD work on that (because it's not the original weapon; it's a replica). XD So you'd basically be creating a weapon that would instantly cancel your own technique. Which would help you even less than using the technique at all.

It would have been REALLY funny if I'd gone with my original plan of getting the Gates of Babylon, though...

And I recognize your name, but forget where it's from. XD
PostPosted: Sat Mar 28, 2009 9:24 pm

hold on, I copy the sword and that includes its spirit, it wouldn't be the same but it would cancel out the powers. Though after like 5 impacts on one an other mine would break and id have to make a new one. Though me fighting you would be retarded.

You don't want to copy her. o.o She's crazy. But by copying the power, you'd negate the very power you were using. It's... sort of omni-directional. The power's passive... always on. UBW creates a whole other dimension, the Reality Marble bit, and just having Lävatein inside of that would shut it off immediately, overriding all protections and making your copy vanish.

So ya. XD Not a good idea to do that. And, of course, you'd have to see it in the first place; he's not very likely to be using it often. XP But yeah, friends are better.
