Aludra decided that it was safe to say that his father was crazy. After he'd been kicked out of the chess club for completely freaking out at everyone around him because they practically celebrated his defeat of a much older child in one of the games, Noah had taken 'making it up to him' way, way too far. Now, Aludra was stuck in a French class, a ballroom dance class, and a giftcard to a place that sold almost only girl's clothing. Obviously his father wasn't used to having kids who actually wore male clothing.
The little Greed demon struggled to recite different phrases his French teacher had gone over that day, though he was having honest trouble with how long they were, and with referring to himself as himself, rather than speaking as though he was narrating his own life. Unfortunately for him, the classes were a lot easier when that was all he had to do. But nooo~ He couldn't just be ''Ludra' in that class, he had to be 'me' or he had to be 'I'. He hated his teacher...
'Course, now there was a place where he didn't even need to talk, right? His head hung low as he walked the halls of the gym building, the same place that Adhara was enrolled in some kinda pregnancy yoga-whatever. Aludra, however, was enrolled in a ballroom dance class, though Lord only knew why. Noah was kind of stupid that way; why did Aludra need to learn to dance...?

Lironax sat contentedly by the small cafe of the gym, sipping on his strawberry smoothie and watching the people that wandered by. He had been here for quite a while now, but had yet to grow bored of it. Silas had needed to get some things from the mall that was just up the street, and had said that Lir could hang out in here if he wanted. The boy had accepted happily; just recently he had gotten big enough that his father trusted him to stay out of trouble on his own, and he exercised this new responsibility every time he got.
After wandering curiously for a few minutes, he had happened upon the cafe, which was kind of a crossroads in the building and promised a nearly-constant flow of interesting people to watch. So he had bought a smoothie with the five dollars that Silas had given him, and contented himself to people-watch. He loved doing that; it was the kind of passive activity that suited him perfectly.
Plus, it gave him the advantage of spotting people before they spotted him. A good example of this was when he spotted his friend Aludra walking glumly down the hall. That alone was exciting enough, but he was also dressed all... fancily, Lir supposed was the word. In a pretty jacket and a nice white shirt and everything. And that seemed weird, since most of the people here wore tank-tops and shorts. Intrigued, Lironax finished off the last of his smoothie, and then smoothed out his light-purply dress (which Silas let him wear only under the condition that he wear a normal t-shirt and some pants underneath it) and approached the other spawn.
"Hi, 'Ludra! It's good to see you," Lironax said happily, not-so-subtly flicking his wing and tentacle. They had both gotten bigger recently and, although he didn't outright admit it, the boy was very proud of them, showing them off to complete strangers. He smiled brightly. "Those are nice clothes. Are you here for something special?"

Aludra's tail curled at the tip when he heard the approaching footsteps, and he somehow predicted exactly who it was going to be. Tri-coloured eyes slowly scanned the perimeter, settling on the other... boy? No, Lironax was still a boy, that was for sure. Aludra looked the other up and down and pulled a slight face. He'd been under the impression that maybe, just maybe Lironax would outgrow his crossdressing phase. It seemed, however, that it was even worse now, as he was in public in those clothes.
"Is bigger," he stated in that soft voice of his, swishing his tail behind himself as he reached out to correct an out-of-place strand of Lironax's hair. It was kind of obvious that the other wanted the attention for the fact that his wing and tentacle had both grown. Especially when you made note that Aludra was the type of person to only want attention if he was angry with something, at which point he had a habit of taking it out on himself.
"Dance class," he stated, pointing to an elevator where Noah looked rather confused, apparently not knowing where his son was for the time being. There were a few other people in nicer clothing milling about, but not too many. Aludra reached out to tug at the shirt that Lir had on under his dress, giving the other a humorless look.
"Is ridiculous," he stated, before gesturing toward the elevators. "Come with. Will fix."

"I know! Isn't it neat?" Lironax said happily when Aludra commented on his size. He was very glad that the other one had noticed, all not-so-subtle hints aside. Sure, he had been showing off his bigger wing to almost everyone, but it was... especially nice when Aludra noticed. Maybe it was because the other boy tended to be so grumpy all the time.
Lir smiled and squinted as Aludra fixed his hair, then looked at him in mild surprise. Of all the things, dance class was one of the last things he expected his friend to be doing. Not that he thought Aludra would be bad at it!! It's just... dancing didn't really suit the idea of Aludra as much as it suited the idea of... well, him! Still, it would do well to be nice about it, since 'Ludra obviously didn't seem to be sold on the idea.
"Ooh, that sounds fun!" the boy stated honestly, then was led by his shirt to the elevator. "Wait, what's ridiculous? And what needs fixing, 'Ludra?" he asked as he was led. Was Aludra talking about his clothes? What was ridiculous about them; he liked wearing the pretty dress. He didn't even mind wearing the shirt and pants. Besides, it wasn't any less ridiculous than what Aludra was wearing, even if it did look nice...

Aludra gave a roll of his eyes and a solemn shake of his head. "Not fun. Noah is making him go," the male stated, once again referring to himself in third person, as though he didn't have a rite to see things from his own point-of-view. Hell, as though he didn't have a rite to his point-of-view. Which, let's face it, he didn't anyway. It didn't really matter, at least not to him...
"Clothes. Dress is fine, can follow," he stated, meaning that Lironax would be fine dancing as the female role, following where Aludra was supposed to lead. "Shirt and pants is tacky," was the comment that followed, the last word no more than something that he'd heard his father's friend, Nouă, use as a description of a terrible looking shirt / skirt combination.
"Can get rid of," he said in a tone that bordered on stereotypically gay, even for a child. He was talking about fashion, of all things. Above that, women's fashion. Really, he needed new relatives...

Lironax's sunshiney demeanor dimmed slightly at Noah's response, and he glanced down, a little embarrassed that he had said the wrong thing. "...oh. Well, then-then why are you going? Can't you ask him to have you do something else?" he asked quietly.
At the comment about his clothes, Lir almost grew indignant, standing up straight and giving Aludra an odd look. Of course, he wasn't actually indignant, since that would require anger, which Lironax couldn't feel, but he was pretty close, given his limitations. So what if the clothes he was wearing looked tacky? He liked them, just as they were.
"I thought it looked neat. And if I don't wear the shirt and stuff, my dad probably won't let me wear the dress again ever," he said in response, hoping that Aludra would catch his meaning. He didn't want to lose his coveted dress privileges just because his friend thought he looked tacky.

"Because Noah makes him," he stated once again, this time with a decent amount more irritation in his voice. His tail wagged to either side, moving his hand to wrap around Lir's wrist. It was a closer gesture, but it wasn't in any way giving the other child leverage over himself. Though, he wasn't completely sure why he wanted to, well, be sure that he had control over the younger boy. That was... strange... "Makes Noah proud. Feelings're not important."
Aludra frowned softly. "Silas won't find out," he stated simply. Besides, he played his dad like a puppet on a string, and he already knew that Lir's dad liked his; the whole thing would be easy to organize piece-by-piece if Silas found out, or if Noah didn't think that it was alright for Lironax to be wearing a dress. Hah, yeah, totally. Noah having a problem with that, being gay himself, with a crossdressing son, and a pregnant daughter, having a problem with someone else crossdressing. That was a good one.
"If he does, can fix it," Aludra stated firmly, his grip on Lironax's wrist tightening slightly, irritated about the fact that his friend so wanted to wear dresses. It was ridiculous, but if that was what he wanted, he would protect his rite to do so 'til the end. He wouldn't admit it, though, grumbling to himself and dragging his friend into the elevator, taking off the bowler with his halo wrapped around it to scratch at his pink-haired head.

Lironax winced slightly and pulled back at the harsh grip Aludra had around his wrist. Well, not harsh, but... it was stronger than it normally was. However, it quickly became apparent that it was not going to go away easily, so he gave up resisting. It was better just to let Aludra go through his moods, anyway. Still, that didn't keep the boy from frowning slightly. "What you feel is important, 'Ludra..."
However, his friend's insistence that he change his clothes got Lir back on the defensive, and he accelerated his frown almost into a pout. "But I'm fine like this, Aludra. I don't want to change. I think I look fine." He leaned against the elevator in a way that was almost sulky, and glanced at his friend. "Where are we going, anyway? I thought you had a dance class to go to..."

"Aludra's feelings are not important," he growled, his grip actually tightening around the angel's wrist, before his eyes widened slightly and he almost immediately dropped the other's hand, wringing both of his own hands together. What the- What was he doing?! Hurting someone for no reason- what was he, four?!
"Class is upstairs," Aludra grumbled softly, glancing over as his friend with what was almost regret. He didn't want Lironax looking like an idiot, and he was sure that was what was going to happen if the boy went in in what he was wearing. Well... why wasn't he just saying that?
"All are going to be dressed nice. Very nice," he stated, placing his bowler back on top of his head, the ribbons dangling behind his head, feathers still tied to the end of either side. God, he wanted wings... Shaking his head, he looked over toward the nonparallel half-child with a bit of a smile. "Doesn't want to let Lir'nax look out-of-place."

Lironax gasped and drew his wrist back once it was released, rubbing it carefully. He glanced side-long at Aludra, a little worried. But, he certainly looked like he felt bad, so the boy chose not to make an issue out of it. He was obviously uncomfortable, after all; some people just act like that when they're stressed. That was all...
His mental segue was cut off by Aludra's comment, and he sighed loudly, rubbing the back of his head with his tentacle. His friend was sure adamant about this. Lir stepped a bit closer to him and placed a hand on his shoulder, smiling reassuringly. "I don't care about being out of place, 'Ludra. I think my clothes are neat, and people can think that or not. It doesn't matter that much to me. Besides," he said, with a bit of a mischievous smile, "I have a wing and a tentacle, silly. I'm going to stand out no matter what."
Giggling to himself, he glanced at the floor that the elevator had opened up onto, and saw a sign that said the dance class was to the left. Taking Aludra's hand in his own, he led the boy out of the elevator. "C'mon, let's go!"

Aludra sighed, a growl muddling with the soft breath. "Fine," he stated plainly, but didn't even give Lironax a chance to object when he took a step forward and straightened a few parts of his outfit; a lopsided sleeve, a lump beneath the dress, a wrinkle in the fabric. It was painfully obvious that there were no females in Lironax's family. Which made Aludra wonder... where did Lir get his femininity from? It wasn't like he had an older sister, like Aludra did, or was raised by a female, like... someone else he probably knew but couldn't recall at the moment.
Aludra stumbled forward when she was pulled out of the elevator, hand in Lironax's, face turning a pale shade of red that didn't suit him at all. Jerking back and pulling his hand from Lir's, he shook his head, following behind the other with a much calmer pace, more befitting the ridiculous clothing that he was wearing. If he'd had to dress fancy, then why couldn't he have just worn the prince outfit that Nouă had made? Oh, right. That didn't fit anymore.
Aludra pushed open the door, trying to remember the stuff they'd pounded into his head in an etiquette class he'd taken earlier as he held the door open for his... 'female' counterpart. People were simply milling around at this point, most of them children or teenagers, all of them very well dressed. He scratched at a scaly patch on his face nervously, tail lashing back and forth behind him. He knew most of these kids from that weird course that was supposed to teach him how to be a gentleman.
Very few of them liked him all that much.

After rushing forward, Lironax had waited patiently for Aludra to catch up with him, occupying himself with inspecting the adjustments that his friend had made to his outfit. Although he was still a bit miffed that the other had obsessed over what he was wearing, he had to admit that the adjustments did make the clothes fit better. Or at least, they felt like they fit better. Smiling, he spun in a few slow circles until Aludra opened the door for him, which he thought was very sweet of him, and half-skipped through it.
However, he became a little less excited when he saw the other children. Aludra was right; he did stand out. He was the only male dressed in not a tuxedo, and all of the girls had much fancier dresses on than his. Still, it didn't do well to dwell on things that he couldn't change, so he swallowed any of his self-consciousness and turned to Aludra, still smiling. "So, now what do we do, 'Ludra?"

Aludra sighed softly, noticing how self-conscious Lironax became as soon as they stepped through the doors and into the ballroomish place that was just swimming with other people. "Should have better dresses..." Aludra grumbled softly under his breath, making sure that Lironax couldn't hear him. At the question, he sort of just shrugged his shoulders.
"Mingle," he stated simply, extending one hand and wiggling his fingers out at the rest of the people. He was sure that Lironax would get along with the others much better than he did. After all, he'd gotten good at this, though he wouldn't admit it, and he'd actually snapped at one of the girls who'd been dancing with him when she'd refused to allow him to accept her compliments as humbly as he knew how.

Lironax blinked at Aludra's command, not quite expecting it. After all, it was a dancing class, not a mingling class. Whatever 'mingle' meant. But from the gesture, he assumed that it meant talking to the other children, and so he smiled and nodded, moving towards the group.
Eventually he approached a freckled girl who was standing a little apart from everyone else. Clearing his throat nervously, he gave her a small smile and waved shyly. "Um, hi. I like your dress. It's a nice shade of pink."
The girl looked up sharply, having been lost in her own thoughts up until that point, and blinked in surprise at the odd... boy that was complimenting her. Still, once she got over her surprise, she smiled kindly in turn, inspecting the material herself. "Heh, thanks. I sure didn't think so when my mom picked it for me, but I guess she was right after all." Looking up, she offered her hand politely. "My name's Eve. Is that a real wing?"
Lironax smiled back and shook the girl's hand happily. "Yup! Had it all my life! Oh, and I'm Lironax. Pleased to meetcha, Eve."
"So, Lironax, who are you here with? I didn't know any boys would be playing the part of a girl," Eve responded. It might have seemed a little invasive, but she was a curious girl, and someone like Lironax wasn't a common sight.
"Um, well, I just was brought by my friend Aludra." Lironax pointed across the small hallway to where the boy in question was standing. "He's the one with the pink hairs."
Eve seemed much less friendly after this information was revealed, for she frowned and crossed her arms. "Oh. Him. Yeah, I know who he is." She opened her mouth, probably to tell Lir just how she knew him, when another boy appeared through the door and drew her attention. "Oh, I gotta go." She patted Lironax on the shoulder before walking off. "Don't let that jerk bully you around, okay?"
Lironax was a little lost for words, and responded well after Eve had got to berate her partner for being late. "Um, alright..?" Suddenly a little uncomfortable in the middle of the room by himself, he quickly walked back over to Aludra, a confused pout on his face. "I don't really like mingling, 'Ludra."

Aludra didn't do much as Lironax spoke to the other female aside from leaning up against a wall, one foot pressed against it as he tried not to glare at each child who walked into the room. He would look perfect how he was with a pipe in his hand, and would better befit a lonely streetlamp somewhere in an abandoned Victorian town. When Lironax was almost next to him, the teacher clapped her hands, settling the class and catching their attention, each couple almost immediately moving to stand across from each other in staggered rows. Aludra, not wanting to stand out too much more than they already did, pulled Lironax to stand in front of him, smiling slightly at the other. "Listen. Follow lead, 'kay?"
Within a few hours, the two were back at Noah's apartment, Lironax helping Aludra go over the steps he needed to have memorized for the next class, a class that he was almost sure that Lir was not going to attend. But every other step from the other seemed to be off, or he would try to lead, or things would just go wrong, and each time that happened, Aludra's grip on Lir's hand and waist would tighten, eyes sharpening at the other.
He hated when other people messed him up.
No matter how humble.
