Scarlet was just enjoyed and early spring morning. As she pranced trhough the dew-soaked field her breath came out in faint puffs. the n** of the cool air sufficed to wake her enough to for coherent thoughts and full sentences. It was then that she spied with ehr little eye a butterfly. She stopped dead in her tracks and watched as the red and golden fairy fluttered over to her. Upon her delight, and after much resting on the delecate petals of many flowers, the tiny fairy deemed Scarlet worthy of one wish.
Everyone knew that butterflies were really fairies in dusguise, after all. And everyone also knew that fairies granted wishes. One per Soquili, to be exact. Quickly, Scarlet shut her eyes and made her wish. She gently whispered it to the fairy. "I wish for a baby," she breathed. The fairly seemed content with this wish and fluttered away. Scarlet smiled to herself and wondered how the fairy would grant her wish.

Akuba was hidden among plants, he stuck out like a sore thumb, the butterfly landed on his nose thinking he was a flower, Akuba looked at it cross eyed, and yelled in terror,"Horrible wretched creature!" He shook himself, making sure he wasn't in the way of the fluttering butterfly, then he noticed at Usdia, he clear his throat and tried to look cool, but nothing could cover that up.

Scarlet looked up and huffed. How could anyone treat such a magical and elegant creature in such a way. She flipped her mane and trotted over. She circled around behind him and nipped at his heels as was a corgis insctinct. "What a horrible, wretched way to treat such a harmless and wonderful fairy! No, you go and apologize," she demanded. It never really occured to her that Akuba was bigger than her, it never did that anyone was. All she noticed was the way creatures were treated. she nipped at his heels again to get him going. It wasn't hard, and it didn't cause pain, it just startled most creatures.
"You wouldn't treat a baby that way, would you? and to think that fairy was ready to grant your wish and everything! Good luck getting another to come to you!" She huffed again and glared at him from her place on the ground.

Akuba was slightly annoyed at her nipping at his heels,"fairy? They don't exist, that was just a butter fly, it's a bit like calling flutters fairies too",He looked at her with a creased brow, and he twitched at the though of them, with their hairy bodies, long nose and flaky powdery poisonous wings. He move his feet back quickly when she nipped him again.
"Sorry 'Fairy',"he said in the butterfly's direction not meaning it. "A baby? Of course not! and this has nothing to do with babies. My wishes never come true so I never really wish any more", he looked down to her. Very silly mare. "I'm not a child so please down treat me like one",he huffed haughtily, looking down at her, if she tried to n** at him again, he wouldn't hold back, he'd stamp right on her like a little bug, cheeky little mare, who'd she think she was, his mother?
"I'm sorry if I interrupted your wish for a baby, well I'm not that baby, so don't think I am, please."

Scarlet puffed herself up and growled a little bit. It was highly comical since she was, in fact, an usdia. But she thought she was tough. She shook herself off and said, "Oh, you are so -rude-! How dare you treat another life like that! She nipped in his direction again and growled. "I have half a mind to have my son come down here and straighten you out! He's a knight and he's got wings!" She tossed her main proudly at the thought of her son, Claude.
But, to be honest, she was more disturbed that anything. How can he not know that butterflies were fairies in disguise? That was just common knowlege. She didn't understand the way some were raised. Her sons knew all about fairies, and wishes, and the angels. She made sure they knew.
She huffed again at his remark. "Didn't your parents -ever- teach you manners! Of course Flutters aren't fairies, they're decended from them! What do you think I am, a fool?" She huffed again and rolled her eyes. She expected he'd need this explained to him as well. "the fairies used to live in the deep woods all by themselves. they had ever since the earth was just a baby. Well, one day the fairy queen and king decided they needed to know what the world looked like since it had been a very long time since they were about. They sent six of thier toughest soldiers out to scout out the terrain. Three female, and three male.
"They came back and told the fiary king and queen about the strange horses they saw walking around. The king and queen were very interested in the idea of nw friends, so they turned the six fairies into horse form. But try as they might, they couldn't get rid of those wings! they gave up trying and sent the six out to find out more about this new race.
"When they came back, only 5 were there. The youngest male had fallen deeply in love with a mare he'd met on the outside. The king and queen were terrified he'd get hurt, since he wasn't a real horse after all. they sent out thier troops again.
"When they returned there were only 4 left. It turns out that the youngest male introduced the eldest female to his mates brother, and he indroduced the middle male to his friend.
"Well, needless to say the king and queen were quite put off by this whole thing. So they turned themselves into horses too and stomped off to see what all the ruckus was about.
"Upon arriving they were greeted happily by the 3 lost soldiers and thier mates. the queen saw that they were happy and spoke with her husband. they decided that, since they were all so much in love, they could stay horses. And they made thier spell permanent. But they never could get rid of those wings!"

"I don't care if your son has wings, it doesn't make him any tougher." Akuba swallowed hard at the word 'parents',"Parents...I've never had any." He kept silent during her story,"nice story", he looked her in the eye,"for children that is",he muttered under her breath. "I have never had parents, I had to bring myself up and I didn't ever get a chance to be a kid, happy?"

Scarlet huffed. How dare someone have the complete gall to insult her son! She was rasied by herself, and she did just fine. She was just an adolescent when her parents died. She didn't go around being rude and calling fairies names. "My son is plenty tough, and the wings make him tougher. That's becasue -he- is from the angels." She nodded knowingly and went full force into another story.
"The angels live up in thr clouds, as everyone knows, and they watch us with careful eyes. They keep us safe and make us happy. They turn the seasons and they make the night into day and the day into night. the chase the water so the creeks, and rivers run, and the dance in the grass to make them sway. You can't see them, but if you listen very carefully you can hear them singing on the winds.
"Well, long ago, around the same time the Fiaries turned into horses, they began to see that all that was good was turning bad. Kalonas began to spring forth from the under world. They enemies, the demons, were trying to foil thier plans for a peaceful and bright world. But that is a story for another time.
"In order to protect the life they had created and the world they so loved, they created, from the clouds, a form of a horse. And into thier shoulders the placed the wings of thier kinds. And they sent down legions to defeat the Kalonas and thier demon masters.
"It as taken eons, and still there is not the peace that once was, but it is getting better..." she mused to herself, looked around her the the peaceful afternoon. She smiled as a particularly pleasent beam of light fell on her back and warmed it, while another breeze cooled it off. It was an odd, but comforting sensation.

"look, everyone has different views, I know Angeni's can't be explained by science, but everything else can be, all animal have certain features to survive and now all the different type of soquili have mixed, anyone can end up with wings, my little corgi friend." Akuba smiled at her,"when I was in england I saw many corgis, very nice dog breed, so how'd you get to be a corgi soquili? Did the corgis turn into horses?" Aku joked hoping she didn't take it to heart.
"I believe what i believe and you believe what you believe, there are many differences and that's what people always will fight over there is no peace, there will never be any."

Scarlet's eyes brightened, happy he was polite now. She nodded and tossed her mane. She would believe what she could understand. And her stories were what she understood. She was very wise, but not highly intellegent, and her stories were how she made sense of the world around her. But instead of launching into another story about Angenis, she left it alone.
Her eyes widened considerably at the mention of her kind. "Oh my goodness! No one knows about us!" She giggled and pranced a bit. "When I was a child and alone, I managed to find myself in Wales. There I met a herd of corgis. They were colored just like me, so I became one of them for several years. I leanred how to herd, and do everything a corgi should do. Even now I feel I'm more Corgi than Usdia." She giggled and looked up at Akuba. "What were you doing in England?"

"That's where I came from silly, I originally came from the north west, but I stayed away from the likes of places like liverpool, I somehow ended up here but I don't remember how, but that was a year ago, and this has been my home ever since",Akuba shrugged. Akuba flicked his hair out of the way,"in the beginning I didn't do to well here, but I built a huge teepee on my own after sleeping in all those nights of rain. I still really don't have any friends, just acquaintances. I see them once, but I never see them again, my mate and her herd are the only people I have now. It's been a rocky road. I never knew starting a family was this hard."

"That simalar to what happened to me, except I was found by my two leggers. Saki is the one who cares for my son and I. She also cares for the foals. Then Nenharma takes care of the stallions and mares. Vallor cares for any animals that wander our way." She giggled at the thought. "My Nenharma is a vicious warrior. She does the hunting and the fighting. Once she was nearly killed by a kalona! And Saki is the most carring soul you could ever hope to know! Then there's Vallor, he's just a goof ball." He giggled again and then sighed. It was sad to hear of a story like Akuba's. "But at least you have a mate who loves you very much, right? That's something. And someday you will have a family and they will have friends, and then mates someday. Then you'll be a grampa!"
Yes, she was jumping a bit out of the normal time span. But she got excited when she talked about happy things. "My son is incapable of producing an hier for me," she sighed off handedly. She giggled again. "I'm just kidding about the heir thing. But he and his mate are having trouble having children." She sighed and settled into the grass.

"Yeh same problem, I see many with their baskets or their mares with big expecting stomachs, we've tried for a long time, but we've stopped trying as much, as we used to. I'd like to think of how it'd feel t be a granddad, but it's never going to happen",He said solemnly,"So tell me, what's up with your so and his partner?" His heart sank but he didn't show it, he just felt a burning sensation on his cheeks.

Scarlet nodded, longing for babies of her own once again. She'd be sure to attack Syipher about this once they met up again. She under stood the stalliopn envy of babies. They were such a joy to have around! Always so full of love and energy; energy she lacked in her aging state. And they always kept her one her toes. She never did know what a baby would do, and then they did it, and almost kill her of a heart attack! But she loved it. Such an adventure. She was pulled from her musings by his question. "Well, Sweetpea and Giada are doing well, so far as I haver heard. I've heard no whispers of children yet, but maybe that's for the best. They are a new couple, and they need to adjust to being a couple before they brings lives into the world, I believe."
