"Hold still Haanyath. Don't you want to be clean?" T'ka asked, as she bore down on the little green, working soap sand into her back. Haanyath grumbled, but held still. She shuffled a little and hissed occasionally, but she didn't want to disobey T'ka. At least, not over something so trivial. T'ka was hers. Her human. Haanyath loved her human. Even if she didn't act like it.

<> T'ka laughed, beckoning Xythe and Daeok from the sky, to help in the washing. Haanyath hissed at their arrival, but since they were her human's...she couldn't very well do anything. And their little claws did feel nice against her skin. She mumbled but tolerated it.

"No, Haanyath. I oil your skin to keep it from cracking. I need to bathe you because you are D-I-R-T-Y!"

<> T'ka just laughed, and patted her green's head affectionately. How much she adored her little Haanyath. Even if a wet Haanyath was an angry Haanyath. She looked around. Where were all the other riders? Surely she wouldn't be the only one bathing her dragon? Oh well...it was early. The sun had risen but twenty minutes ago. Maybe someone else would show up soon?

Kaedrelath was Haanyath's polar opposite, in this matter at least. The blue LOVED being bathed. The attention M'zaji dolled out for him was something the blue relished. He loved the time they spent together, and was always upset when his bath was finished. Not to mention, Kaedrelath hated being dirty. He was bathed close to twice as often as any other dragon, and his hide shone to prove it. It was of no surprise to M'zaji that his dragon roused him especially early, begging to be bathed.

<< I ate messily last night, >> Kaedrelath insisted as he back winged to land just beside the lake. His rider dismounted easily, after tossing down his bucket of bathing supplies. Brushes, oils, soapsand~ it was all there! Before wading into the lake, Kaedrelath warbled a warm and friendly greeting to the green weyrling being bathed. << Why, good morning little one! What a wonderful thing, to be bathed, >> he remarked, his voice merry and accompanied by a rush of chiming, ringing bells.

"Good morning, T'ka!" M'zaji greeted cheerily, his eyes bright and merry (unusual, since he was up earlier than he was used to). He grinned and waved with a long-handled brush; his hands were full carrying bathing supplies. "How're you two doing?" The bluerider inquired pleasantly of the new greenrider and her dragon. Kaedrelath had been infinitely pleased to find out one of his had impressed, and M'zaji had been just as happy for the smith girl.

T'ka waved, a huge smile splitting her face. Haanyath started to screech out a warning, a bellow at Kaedrelath, but T'ka rapped the little green on the head, not quite hard enough to hurt her, but to make her pause for a moment. <>

<you.>> T'ka rolled her eyes, and walked over nearer to M'zaji, ignoring the squaks of protest from Haanyath, who grudgingly followed. Worse than being wet would be walking around with soapsand smeared all over her. She needed to get it washed off before she could leave. T'ka pondered her answer for a moment, while she brushed Haanyath with a short handled brush. Haanyath was growing fast, to be sure, but her head still just barely reached T'ka's hip, so T'ka didn't need a larger brush to clean her little green.

"I'm doing excellent, I think. Haanyath...is not so happy. She hasn't quite taken to bathing yet...and you? You and Kaedrelath are well?" Haanyath snorted, affirming T'ka's statement. T'ka turned to Kaedrelath. "Don't take her completely seriously. She's a little...aggressive." T'ka rolled her eyes, working at the mud splattered on Haanyath's chest. Unlike the larger blue, Haanyath could care less about being dirty. As long as it wasn't hindering her...what did she care?

When faced with the much larger blue, Haanyath puffed up her chest, staring hard at Kaedrelath, as if asessing the threat he posed. She conveniantly ignored the fact that Kaedrelath could probably step on her if he wanted. She trilled a sort of warning, as if affirming her right to her human. As if Kaedrelath might want to steal her. T'ka ignored Haanyath's attempted displays of authority. Hopefully Kaedrelath would to. It would be a bad time indeed when Haanyath met someone who challenged her back.

<> Haanyath declared to Kaedrelath, glaring. It would be a terrifying statement from a larger dragon. Her eyes were narrowed and flecked with red, her stance stolid and her lip twitching, a snarrl just waiting to be released. As it was, Haanyath was a baby green, short even for that, and almost comical in her strange, wher-like proportions. As such, the effect of her anger came across as...almost cute. T'ka didn't know what Haanyath just said, it had been for Kaedrelath's ears only, but...she knew her little dragon looked pretty silly at the moment. She tried very hard not to laugh, and just to keep scrubbing.

It would have been easier to watch Kaedrelath's emotions play across his face if he were a human. But, as a dragon, his expression was slightly limited. To start off, the blue was intrigued. He lowered his head to sniff at the green, inspecting her with his solid-green eyes. He didn't see any reason to consider this pint-sized weyrling a threat. Then, the blue shifted from curiosity to amusement. He let out a series of chirps and trills that imitated laughter. Was Haanyath trying to intimidate him? To his rider, the blue offered a comment. << Look at her, she's so protective of hers. How silly. As if I would want hers, >> Kaedrelath remarked and turned away from Haanyath. He flicked his tail in her face as he moved away, unwilling to waste his time on someone or something that didn't appreciate it.

M'zaji chose not to comment on how protective of him Kaedrelath had been right after hatching. The blue had insisted on physically putting himself between M'zaji and anyone else. He'd grown out of the phase with time, though. The bluerider recognized Haanyath's behavior, and pointedly ignored it. "She'll most likely grow out of it," he said quietly to T'ka with a reassuring smile. "Most weyrling are aggressive and protective when it comes to their new riders. They're just getting to know you, and they don't want to be apart. Think of her as a toddler, with separation anxiety. Or something of the sort," M'zaji said with a wave of his hand, hoping he didn't come across as offensive with his explanation.

The bluerider relaxed, and at Kaedrelath's warbling insistence, stripped away his shoes, socks, and his shirt. << I really don't want to be dirty any longer, >> the blue scolded his rider and snorted as he dove underwater. M'zaji mocked his blue, repeating his dragon's words and rolling his eyes. He laughed and grabbed the bag of soapsand. "Kae and I are well, yes," the bluerider answered T'ka's question with a grin. "The usual. Wing duties, and not a whole lot else. How's weyrling training going?"

Haanyath hissed when his tail was flicked near her face, and she reached out to bite it, her teeth clicking together when she missed it. She was still a little awkward in her body. Strangely proportioned even for a green. Everything to her was an insult, she took Kaedrelath's tail flick as a personal insult, was he mocking the fact that she was a green? That was Haanyath for you. She always thought humans and dragons alike looked down on her because she was a green. Despite her words otherwise, T'ka suspected there was a deep amount of resentment on Haanyath's part that she hadn't been born a queen, where people would at least respect her and not insult her. Least of all with tail flicks.

Haanyath would charge the larger dragon, not that she could do much, but T'ka had experience in calming Haanyath down. She pushed down hard on Haanyath's head, so that it would be impossible to charge forward; without toppling over, and T'ka vigorously worked soapsand around Haanyath's head, and made it a point to very vigorously scratch her eye ridges. Haanyath bristled, realizing she was being thwarted, but it felt so good that she was willing to ignore the insult, this time. Though it wasn't much of an insult at all.

"I certainly hope so. Despite her words to the contrary, Haanyath is extremely protective. Though I wouldn't say she hangs out around me...more often its the other way around," T'ka laughed. Thinking of all the times Haanyath had marched off on her little adventures, and T'ka had to hurry to stay with her. She couldn't trust Haanyath not to get into trouble yet. "She's got quite an independant streak, to say the least. She told me once she doesn't like, or need the Weyr."

<> Haanyath declared, to everyone. T'ka rolled her eyes, where Haanyath couldn't see, and kept scrubbing. She couldn't tell Haanyath that she could take care of herself yet. That would be a lie, and Haanyath hated to be lied to. Or, at least T'ka assumed that she would. She'd never lied to the little green, it was important that they establish a good bond, she knew. But if she told the little green she couldn't take care of herself, then she would see it as a challenge. The best course of action was just to not answer. Maybe M'zaji would catch onto that as well?

T'ka grimaced when the topic of lessons was brought up, busying herself now with scrubbing Haanyath's back. "They are...challenging. Because of Haanyath and my...unique relationship, we are often called out on, harassed, singled out. The teacher had the nerve to tell me that 'You have to be partners. You're not your dragon's servant.'" T'ka chewed her lip, looking frustrated, and Haanyath looked upset to, though whether she remembered the event or was just picking up on T'ka's frustration was unknown. "This was a trifle unnerving. Haanyath and I are...companions. She was quite upset that I was compared to a servant." T'ka laughed. "She was all up and ready to charge that bronze too."

<> Haanyath hissed, once again making a groupwide announcement.

"I suppose your Weyrling lessons were a little bit easier than mine?"
