In order to understand this, you must know Akela's "Coming Out to Her Mother" story...

Akela ::in a car with her mom and her older gay cousin::
Cousin: You know, Akela, I have very good gaydar.
Akela : eek ...this was the first time anyone had mentioned anything around her mother::
Cousin: You're a lesbian, right?
Akela : eek shakes head::
Cousin: You're bi?
Akela : eek quick nod::
Cousin: I knew it! 3nodding
Mom: scream She doesn't know what she is yet!
::silence::

That was a year and a half ago. My mom hasn't said anything since, so I didn't know if she was in denial or was considering sending me to one of the gay-to-straight camps...
Then, last week, one of my best friends was talking to my mother in private. Later, she comes to me and tells me that my mom said "I knew she was bi. I just didn't want to accept it."
So... should I be happy she knows, or scared that she hasn't said anything?
::is confuzzled::

Well the first step towards help is admitting the issue. You're mom didn't want to believe you were Bi, but nowo she's admitted that. This could be a good thing, and you should try hard to make sure that it becomes a good thing.

I think that you should be happy that she knows.

She probably just has a bit of a hard to accepting it.

But I belive that is the first step.

The first step is always the hardest, and now that's it's been taken you should try to help your mom understand things. I tyhink the parental help link that Neon posted would be a good start.

I was actually going to show that to her, but right as I was about to, my stepfather (I may be Christian, but he's MILITANT Christian... it's scary...) came back home (she kicked him out a month ago, but he's back again... stare ).
So I'm not going to bring up anything for quite a while. cry

(If she doesn't already know) I might try and tell my mom sometime. I really don't thknk she'd care at all. My dad, I've mever really known how he stands on anything.

EDIT: Although paranoid (and others) think he is gay. :XP: Who nows.
