Xian felt the ground beneath his hooves change, the solid ground and new spring grass eventually giving way to softer, shifting sands as he found himself at the bank of a river, still swelled with the melting of the last snowfall of Winter. It seemed that the change of seasons had finally arrived, and he was more than happy to wet his pallet with the cold waters before him as the bright sun inched its way little by little across the sky. Tossing his head, the black and white stallion lifted his brown gaze from the rushing waters to the other bank.
Deciding to test his feet in the river, he eased a leg into the water, hissing a bit at the temperature. It was colder than he had predicted. Still, he forged onwards, his long, strong legs moving through the fairly swift but gentle current. Pushing himself up the sloping bank, Xian shook himself to rid any excess water, and took a moment to enjoy the sun on his chilled legs.
