Zia's eyebrows were wrinkled in concentration as she patted the clay around. "Yes, mm-hmm, yes---Yes, I think this will do." She gave it one little last poke with a claw, having created something that looked like a cross between a bowl and a plate with definite child-created designs.
"You shall be my very own on-purpose-made rock." Zia told it, all very pleased with the idea. "Now, I wanna--uh--" She looked around, the frowned, then turned around and started looking even more, then began to look distressed.
"Awh, not fair-- I'M ALL ALONE AND WANT MY FAMILY!!" Zia shouted.

Sumire was heading slowly back towards home, her head and tail held just a little lower than usual. It hadn't been a great day. She'd seen a few cubs playing. How was she supposed to know they were from a pride? Why should it have even mattered? They looked like they were having fun. What was the big deal with letting her in on the game too?
Whatever. It wasn't like she needed to play with them; she had better things to do. And better sisters to play with. That's what she kept trying to tell herself, forcing herself to perk up as she got closer to home. Didn't want her family to see her down. Ever. Her mother had enough to deal with. That weird lioness friend of her's was hanging around enough as it was.
Then, as if on cue, she heard a familiar voice tear through the air - and couldn't help cracking a small grin, shaking her head. "Hey! Zia! I'm right here!, " she called, hoping her sister could hear her shout as well as she'd heard Zia's own, following the sound of her voice and her scent.

((Goodness, they are such a pretty family!))
"Ssuumiiiire!" Zia yelled when she heard the faint call back. She immediately jumped up to follow in the direction she'd heard the voice.
When finding her, she jumped around excitedly, "I'm making a rock today! It'll be my very---" She stopped and began sniffing. "Oooh..." Her voice and head lowered, ears going back in a conspiring manner. "Sumire. You have been out. What great wonders have you found beyond the borders of Mom's boundaries and rules? Are there really super-big-lizards out there?"
Zia's tail swished behind her in a playful frenzy of shared-secrets.
