Tiriel'ia smiled a rare smile from where she stood on a rock, gazing upwards. Grasshoppers sang songs of love, and baby birds called to their mothers.
It was spring.
Jumping from the rock, the juvenile walked to a shady spot under a large tree, paws stepping softly on the grass as she went. The land was vast and fresh in the Duma'chama, and it was full of life. The cheetah continued to smile as she sat in the shade, purple eyes stilll gazing at the sky. But it was then that something bright blue and black caught her attention. Small mouth opening in wonder, Tiriel stood up. She had seen butterflies before, but never one so bright blue and big. The juvenile was suddenly full of a strong sense to follow it...
And so she did.
Forgetting all of her shyness and reserve, Tiriel abandoned all and pranced after the butterfly, giggling and jumping at it. She didn't take her eyes off it once, constantly looking up. And so she followed it, and followed it.
She had no idea she had traveled to the border of the Duma'chama...

 Aadi.. a very particularly curious thing.. with a thing for butterflies. It was his friend that he called firefly.. He looked just like Aadi! He told his momma about him.. he always took him to see new sights. Everything. He was following- looking up and was laughing all the while. "Hey wait up! I can't keep up!" He said with a sparky voice to him. He kept running- her tail flying about with its blue spots.. then~ how happy you could see this cub.. His black fur playing with the wind on this golden afternoon. The vast blue.. but oh the wind took him for a ride. The jungle outskirts were reaching out~ and he even past it without noticing. Laughing softly.. the runt of the family.. "Hold on~! " Rushing after and put in a burst of his strength not seeing anything but his friend then BAM! He ran in to something head first! Causing him to fall back and give a shriek. "Owwiiiie~...~" His voice rang.. his friend flew about a few in circles before setting on the white furred one. Right on the face.

With one firm, strong leap on her back legs, the juvenile sprang up to swat at the butterfly. However, as she did this, her head collided with something; HARD.
Crying out with surprise and pain, the cheetah doubled backwards and fell on her back. She remained still for a moment, groaning softly. Something tickled Tiriel's nose and her eyes fluttered open.
The butterfly was sitting on her nose.
Bright blue and black wings folding and unfolding, it was a beautiful sight to behold. Tiriel'ia stared at it cross-eyed, head still pulsing from the collision. But she wasn't thinking about that. She was captivated by the butterfly. It was--
"Ah-CHEW!" the cheetah sneezed delicately. When she recovered, she saw the butterfly flitting away. The cheetah scrambled to her feet, dismay plastered on her features. It was flying high...
Tiriel'ia moved to follow it, but then something deep black caught her eye. Turning her head hesitantly, the cheetah's indigo eyes met with light blue ones. Her jaw dropped in horror. She stumbled backwards and dove behind a tree, heart beating a mile a minute. And there she hid, legs trembling and eyes tightly shut, praying for the black thing to go away.
