Ovarian cancer statistics from the National Cancer Institute
▫ It is estimated that 21,650 women will be diagnosed with and 15,520 women will die of cancer of the ovary in 2008.
▫ The overall 5-year relative survival rate for 1996-2004 was 45.5%.
▫ Based on rates from 2003-2005, 1.39% of women born today will be diagnosed with cancer of the ovary at some time during their lifetime.
