He was... hurting, every inch of him was aching, every part of his body felt weak, weightless even. What was he going to do now? Vulcan had lived his whole life in search of his father, and once he had found him Vulcan never wanted to leave his side. He has learned so much from him over the few years they had spent together, his death had truly taken a toll on the older male. True, he had sworn Akamu that he would be strong, if anything for his sisters, but... the pain, at times was hard to hide. Sitting alone the red male sighed and gazed at his paws in anger- what was he going to do now? He was... alone.
Tama once again found herself wandering, her thoughts often drifting to a certain red male she had not seen in sometime. She found herself thinking about what he might be doing and why he wasn't bothering her. At first when he had stopped appearing so frequently she had been content, almost happy, but as time wore on she found herself actually missing his company which startled her. It was not something she was used to. So here she was, looking for him.
Of course if she did come across him she would pretend it was pure concidence, who knew what he'd think if he knew the actual truth. Besides she didn't even expect to see him at all. So when she did find the dark red male she was surprised. She paused letting her golden eye watch him, waiting for him to notice her. It wasn't until she actually paid attention to his behavior did she realize something was wrong.
"Vulcan...what happened?"
"My father passed away." He answered without any lie. Vulcan didn't pretend, it wasn't in his blood to. The red male often let the truth just come out rather than lie about it. What was the point? His blue eyes narrowed as he glanced up at her and faked a hard smile. "It's why i've been away..."
She blinked surprised with the honesty that easily passed by his lips and she found herself frowning shattering the expressionless mask that had once adorned her features. "Oh..." She mumbled glancing down at the ground. She flattened her ears against her skull as she let a weak smile decorate her lips.
"I'm sorry to hear that," she paused looking up at him. She stepped forward wondering if she should comfort him in some way. "I never knew my father, he died before I was even born." She laughed dryly at the thought of the salmon striped male whom she looked so much alike. "My mother ran away at the news." She knew how painful it was to lose a family member, especially one she was close to.
She had lost one of her sisters, they hadn't died but they had been seperated and her heart ached. "Losing someone is never easy."
"It's like... I could have done so much more for him, I feel like I could have... done something to make him live longer." He sighed, eyeing her. His eyes were sore from all of the tears he had let slip. "My sisters, they took it hard. When I was with them... all I could do was look after them, but now... now it's starting to set in, this... pain." He must have looked so tiny to her. "I miss him already..."
She shook her head, "When it's time for one to move on to the next life there is nothing that can keep one in the same life." She spoke as though she knew so much about it when she really didn't. She could only imagine. In a way she saw it as similar to the way she was forced from the oasis, from her sisters to start over. To have a life where she wasn't shouldered with responsibilities she didn't want to have. "I used to take care of my sisters back when my father died and my mother abandoned us. Then in a way I abandoned them. I've always felt that there must be something I could have done to protect them, to keep whatever drove me out away..." She sighed. "With time I accepted that things happen for a reason and that's okay. There is a reason for everything and everything has a reason." She told him moving toward him before laying down just an inch or two away.
"It's okay to miss him."
He lifted his ears at her words and nodded to her softly. "I... I know you don't like me as much as you put up, I know you have your own reasons and everything... but thank you from being here with me, in my time of need." As he spoke he moved himself over to her and wrapped a paw around her, as if to hold her for a second. He needed this, badly. Vulcan was very upset and knew that she must have been too, talking about her past like that. "Thank you... for talking to me."
She smiled softly at him, it was a sincere smile nothing forced like in the past. "I can't help but want to help you," she admitted with a chuckle. When he wrapped his paw around her she leaned into him and closed her eyes as she felt his warmth. "There's just something about you." She mumbled opening her eyes halfway. She couldn't place her paw on it but she knew that he was growing on her no matter how rocky of a start they had in the beginning. "Thank you for listening to what I have to say," she paused contemplating things. "You are the second person to know this much about me." The only person she had really ever talked about her past, her actual past, was Ahali but he was an extremely close friend. Her only one perhaps. "It's a comforting thought."

He gazed at her and smiled the best he could. She had become someone very close to him and it seemed she felt the same. this made the male's heart ache with a new feeling. He could tell her anything... this, it was weird. He tilted his head and sat closer to her, sighing deeply. "I am always going to be here for you. No matter what. That's what friends are for.." He didn't think she felt anything other than friendship toward him, anyway...
--
She was comfortable around him, more so than she ever expected to find herself to be. After the incidents in the desert she wasn't sure if she would ever be willing to open up to anyone. Ahali had been the exception, he was her emperor and it was only right of him to know how she worked, what she had been through and as she thought about it, he was the first one to come to know her outside of family. And now there was another person who had been let into her little inner circle. "And I'll always be here for you," she replied with a nod. She knew it was true. At the friends comment she couldn't help but feel a ping her her chest, it didn't make sense to her. Sure they had a rough start and now they were friends but she found that she cared a lot about Vulcan.
It was like what she had said before, she couldn't help but want to help him. When he was down she wanted to cheer him up, what did it really mean? "Right...friends."
