“Wait Mr. Mouse! Princess Anya wants to play now.” As quick as lightning, the little juvenile’s paw was on the mouse’s tail, stopping any chance of imminent escape. “What’s wrong? You don’t want to play with me?” She smile sweetly and, with a purr, scooped the little mouse up into her forepaws, holding him balanced in front of her nose.
The silk-furred beast with its large, liquid eyes and round ears could have been considered cute if it wasn’t lunch. But Mr. Mouse didn’t need to know that just yet. Poor thing, he’d be scared to death and then the game would be over!
At the moment, the pink and white female lay tangled in the tussocks of grass and roots surrounding the thick branch of an old tree. She’d discovered the mouse couple and their little family nesting here a few days back and had been fascinated with watching them. But now watching was over. It was time to introduce herself.
“Cat and mouse is a good game, right Mr. Mouse? Do you know the rules?” She preened contentedly and pointed her tail in the direction of the mouse den. “I covered the entrance so you can’t get back. So I chase you through the roots. If I get you it’s game over!”
The mouse nipped her paw and she squeezed him, forcing him to relent. “Bad Mousie. For that, you get less time to run away.”

A smile decorated the dark colored female's lips as she walked across the grasses searching for one of her dear family members. She was bissfully content, so very much so actually. Ever since she had met Melhor, her soulmate, things had been simply well perfect. She had never been happier in her life, not even when she was listening to stories from her grandmother. Yes, the granddaughter of Mteo royalty had found herself the fairy tale ending she had always dreamed of.
Laughing cheerfully to nothing she let her cyan colored paws dance over the ground looking for any sign of one of her four children or even her beloved mate. Just thinking about them made her practically beam with happiness only when she thought of the very business-like attitude of her dark colored daughter. It made her frown just a bit before the smile replaced it quickly enough. Already she had found what she was looking for.
"Anya darling!"

"Oh! Mummy!" She turned her head to glance across a pale shoulder, face glimmering at the sight of her dear mother. She adored her mother, treasured her, worshipped her, even. She thought her mother beautiful and kind and graceful. A proper lady! Everything that she herself wanted to be.
She pressed the mouse to the floor as she turned to greet her, waving her tail high.
"Mummy! Look what I found! Isn't it cute?"

Once her daughter had caught sight of her she closed the distance between them prepared to shower her with nuzzles and licks when she drew her attention the mouse trapped between her paws. She chuckled as she stopped a foot or two away from the other. "It is ver cute indeed dear," Jipima replied leaning toward Anya to nuzzle her lightly. "I am very proud of you. Did you catch it all by yourself?" She inquired pulling away. Slowly she leaned forward to get a better look at the creature. "Were you planning on playing a little game with it?" She inquired straightening up before taking a seat.
"I remember times when I would catch small animals, it was so fun."

"I did, Mummy." She chirped, leaning into her mother's nuzzle, purring with delight at having her attention. "I was. I was going to let it go and then chase it around. If I caught it then game over for Mousie. So he has to run fast or else, krrrrk." She drew a claw across her throat in a gesture that the mouse would end up very...dead.
She bounced a little, crushing the poor thing and making it squirm to get away.
"You used to play with them, too, Mummy?" She blinked, purring again as she realised it was another thing they had in common. "Want to play now?"

Jipima chuckled softly as Anya nuzzled her, returning the gesture of affection. "Very good job dear," she commented peering down at the squirming mouse. She shook her head with a smile upo her lips as her daughter gave visuals as to what would happen to the creature were it caught. "He better be quick then, or a good hider at least."
At the girl's question she nodded her head. "All the time, I even pretended that the mouse, or rabbit or whatever I had caught, was a damsel in distress and had to be rescued by a prince!"

She felt herself swell with pride at her mother's words. "A prince?" She blinked. "What is a prince, Mummy? Someone good and brave I think. Or maybe stupid!" She giggled and in her excitement let the mouse go.
The creature shot out from under her paws and dived headfirst into the roots of the tree.
"Oh no!" She gave a cry of dismay. "That mouse didn't need a prince." She huffed and flattened her ears. No matter...she'd find it later.

"He's like a knight in shining armor, every girls' dream," she gushed excitedly thinking about her own knight in shining armor. Anya's father, Melhor. He was everything she had ever dreamed of, she had gotten her fairy tale ending and she couldn't be more happy about it. "He's the person that'll sweep you off your feet, that'll be the one to save you from all things wrong," she paused sighing dreamily. "He's like what your father is to me. He's my prince charming," she told her happily.
