Separated from the school by a freak storm, Nash, Weiyuan, Zach and Columba find themselves in the middle of two forests.
Do you head into the woods in seek of shelter from the winds, or do you press forward through the fog up ahead?

Nash had only been walking with the group quietly a moment ago. The wind had been harsh and only seemed to grow. He trudged on trying as best he could to keep an eye on the student closest in front of him but with every second the wind kicked up snow from the ground and more fluttered to the earth from above, his eyes had become all but useless. Squinting against the winds his indigo orbs fell upon two factors.
On one had there were woods not too far away; a place for ideal shelter from these harsh winds. On the other, was the fog which one would not dare to venture. Then he looked around a noticed a three other factors. He wasn't alone, two others from his school and a tourist had some how gotten lost on their own in such a small group. With a sigh he gave each one a quick glance before looking toward the woods with a questioning gaze. "Where should we go?" Was his only reply finding this current moment ill for proper introductions.

Columba kept his mouth shut the whole journey, it felt odd traveling with a rather big group of strangers. The hood of his coat was gathered all towards the centre of his face, leaving only his eyes visible. Though with all that snow around them, there was nothing for him to see. Keeping his eyes close to a slit, he followed the person closes infront of him.
It was only after someone spoke did he look up and tried seeing what was going on around him. There was 3 others with him that he didn't regconise. It took him quite some time to process what the other had said and he looked about once again. The forest looked kind of safe but yet by going to the fog, they might have a chance of finding the rest of the group.
"I say stay in the forest till the fog clears or something." Columba said with a sigh before he continued. "I'm Columba, but you can call me Cole"

Nash nodded his acknowledgement, stepping closer to Columba. "Nice to meet you considering the circumstances. I'm Nash." He offered his name looking about them and moved closer so the others remained in sight. "We'd be better off continuing but this weather does us no good in searching for the others." He looked among all of them with a half chilled smile trying his best to provide some comfort despite the dire situation. Only one other he recognized but he hadn't spoken to him much since the school fire and even then he the other had said very little. It seemed quite possible he'd only meet this one during dire straights. Oh well... "By the way, is everyone okay? Any one hurt?" Better to check the group now before continuing on, any injuries to the group would warrant shelter in the woods otherwise perhaps it was better to continue.

Weiyuan had kept close to Herei during the chilling trek. But it was odd, though he had no experience with northern weather he was sure that such gale force winds didn't occur so suddenly. The asian pulled the color of his shirt up over his nose and mouth, bracing himself for whatever was about to happen. He squinted as grey turned into pure white and just stopped moving all together. Something just not natural was going on.
And slowly he could feel himself slipping away.
The moment he was able to take control of his limbs without them being whipped away from the winds he stood. Roughly shaking himself free of snow, the brunette stood. Taking in his surroundings. He was totally completely and utterly vexed. Mandarin curses spewed from his mouth for a good long minute before he turned to his companions. He had heard what they were saying before.
Pulling his collar down from his face, he pointedly placed a hand on his hip. "Weiyuan. Now forgive me for being frank but no matter where we go, we're bound to run into some freaky magical s**t. Because the fact is, it's practically impossible to leave Shinkami on a 'field trip' without getting involved in some freaky magical s**t." The 17-year-old huffed, pulling off his hat and to fixing his hair into a bun that he could stuff underneath his poor excuse of head gear. This is what 'experience' did to him.

Zach yelled as the wind suddenly ripped him away from most of the group, stumbling about disoriented for several minutes. When things finally died down, he found himself and three others stuck in the middle of two forests with some kind of weird fog up ahead.
Watching their debate for a moment, he finally spoke up as well. "I say we keep going. It doesn't seem like anyone's hurt, and it's better to find the others. I'm sure they're all looking for us too. Or even if we all got separated, we should keep going."
A little pause, and he smiled faintly. "If nothing else, we should try to find the tower and see who else gets there."

Oh great did they really need someone of such a morbid sense of reality? Nash only gave a sigh keeping his thoughts to himself. It wasn't the time for politics and certainly not a day for arguing. "Then we should continue forward if everyone is okay." He offered over the wind. Pulling the collar of his coat more firmly to chilling skin he gave Weiyuan a barely detailed look before turning his back to the group and looking on ahead in the fog.
His bag was limited with useful items and part of him wished he had brought some rope to tie each person together, it would at least eliminate the chance for seperation. As for this 'freaky magical s**t', Nash couldn't do much about it but Weiyuan did have a point, there was always something strangely supernatural where the school and it's students were involved. "As someone in training for magic I suppose it's my responsibility to deal with freaky magical s**t. I'll do my best when the time comes but for now lets just keep going." Well at least he wasn't being his usual uncertain self. Maybe it was the cold but he hated being in chilly weather longer then was necessary and already his was reaching his chill factor capacity.

The brunette sighed, rummaging through his pack seemingly reading Nash's mind. When the announcement first came out about his fieldtrip was the first instance that he found Herei suspicious. Ropes, compasses, walking-stick, knives, and hammers it suggested. Of course he really only brought some of those things. (Though now that his suspicious were starting to become true he wished he really had brought a knife.) He at least did have a compass and, to replace the rope, medium sized bungee cords with plastic clip ends instead of hooks. Personally Weiyuan found those to be more useful for any instances where rope could be needed.
The teen held up the neon colored soon-to-be lifeline. "Alright then. Nash how well is your training going? Without a doubt that fog will be so thick we'll be depending on these babies to keep together, I don't really know how magic works but I'm going to assume that you might have a sense for anything...non-human? It would make you the ideal front man if you did." If he could sense something coming then they could try to avoid it, or at least prepare for it. If not, then it would be better for the two larger people to take the front and back. Anchor points so if another freak storm came about they wouldn't get blown too far off.
Unlike the last time in China, Wei wasn't going to be afraid of going hand-to-...whatever with whatever beast they may come across. He didn't know if anyone else in the group had any combat experience but he could hope that what they did have would be enough.

Zach eyed the bungees a bit doubtfully but didn't say anything about them. It was probably a good idea to all hook up together anyway. "I have a couple of flashlights too," he chipped in, digging around in his bag until he pulled them out.
"Though I don't know how much good they'd do ..." he muttered a bit darkly then, eyeing that fog bank with distrust. Especially if it was magical in nature somehow, getting through it wasn't going to be easy.

Cole nodded as everyone introduced themselves, though his eyes did widen when he heard Weiyuan mentioned something about magic. "They do meant those pull-the-bunny-out-of-the-hat magic, right?" he thought to himself before shaking his head, to get rid of the thought. "Well, I'm fine so I guess we'll go on ... " he said rather softly before mumbling something. He felt alone in this situation and he was starting to get afraid. Questions about how they are going to survive started popping into his head.
"Well, I'm not sure how I am able to help but I've got some dried fruit and a few bottle of water incase some one is feeling a little peckish?" This was his only option to help the others in this situation.

Oh, right. A normal civilian. This made things more complicated. The teen wasn't that good of a judge of character, so he honestly couldn't tell whether...Cole, was his name?...was going to be an asset or not. It was complicated.
The wind felt harsh against his skin and he just had a feeling that once they started out it was only going to get worse. "Well then, I suppose we can start. Secure your packs tightly, we don't know what's going to happen in there. Nash take the lead, then Zach, Columba and I'll stay in the back. Put the clips onto your belt, or belt loop. If the wind picks up again, just brace yourself and don't move. We'll be following on Nash's lead." It was probably a lot to put on the boy's shoulder's but he magic wasn't his forte. Though he ended up dealing with it more than he wanted to...
Weiyuan secured the cords to each member, taking care to make sure it wouldn't come loose. If any one of them got separated...He just didn't want to think about it. Especially considering what happened in China. No...not that. Finally, securing the last end of one the bungee cords to the front of his pants he pulled a bit, testing it out. "I think we're ready."

You press through the fog and you make it out to the other side! And what do you find, but a lake? The only way across is a boat, and guarding the boat is a grumpy sled dog. Can you get the boat away from the dog? If you can, do you take the boat to the north shore, or the west shore? If you can't, you'll have to walk around the lake, or head back.

When they finally got out of the fog, Zach blinked at the sight before them. A lake...? Okaay... man why didn't they have maps for this little trip? That would be more helpful!
Sighing, he eyed the dog guarding the boat. "Unless we can use that boat... this trip is gonna take a long time. Cause we'd have to go around the lake..." he pointed out, unhooking the bungee from his waist and handing it back to Weiyuan.

Cole wasn't even sure how they made it through the fog without someone bumping into something but anyway, they made it. When they got to the other side, Cole couldn't help but stared at lake. It was beautiful to him and very mysterious looking with the fog just gently touching the surface of the water. It was only until he heard something growling before he realised that they are not alone.
Body tensed, Cole slowly turned his head towards the source of the noise. It was his worse nightmare, a dog. The worst thing about it was the fact that the boat the dog was guarding seems to be the only way for them to cross the lake.
"So...how are we going to get rid of the dog?" his voice a little softer, hoping the dog wouldn't hear them. This was similar to the worst day of his life.

Moving through the fog made him paranoid. As if at any moment something was going to come out and get them. It was a bit neurotic how his gaze shifted through the mist. No, he just didn't want to get caught off guard. They were without instructors and though they could do well enough on their own...if they faced something big...No! Now wasn't the time to go into a deeper sense of paranoia. In this weather he should be able to keep a cool head.
When they broke through, he nearly took a sigh of relief. Nearly. It seemed like the path was clear but they faced this new threat.
A dog.
The brunette turned to the younger boy, watching him carefully. He took the cord back, eyeing the dog as well. Weiyuan never had a pet, so he didn't know what to do when it came to animals. Slate grey eyes shifted onto the non-student. He could visibly see the other tense. Wonderful. At least they got this out now. Releasing himself from the cord, he stood beside the stranger of their group, slightly in front of him. Softly he murmured, "Don't worry about it. Just stand strong. Let the other's handle it."
