The City hall is an important government housing for important matters such as legislation meetings, and court hearings, and sometimes mission briefings. Locals also bring requests for property usage and zoning. Most commonly Nobles and local leaders gather here to discuss legal issues and important current events amongst themselves or with the Chancellor.
The Chancellor is usually found at the podium in the meeting hall or in his office studying. Behests are listed on the bulletin board out front, the more secretive or high priority tasks one must inquire with the Chancellor directly.

Seth made her way over to the Bulletin board out in front of city hall. She pushed her way through the crowds of taller people and pulled Maryl to the front with her. "Ungh, do you see anything you like, Maryl?"

Maryl dealt with the discomfort of being taken through a tight crowd. It was the middle of the day after all and there were too many mercenary types and not enough jobs. At the front, she felt a bit intimidated by the tough looking guys behind her, but she managed to focus on the board. "It all looks like typical mercenary jobs. Eliminating targets, retrieval, reconniassance... Whatever that means." Something caught her eye "Wait! There's a magical disturbance in Pelions Bay!"

Seth turned to Maryl and nodded, "Sounds great. You're an experienced arcanist, this should be right up your alley. Grab it, we'll go talk to the Chancellor." Seth paused and waited for Maryl to snatch up the posted page before pulling her back through the crowd and toward the stairs.

Maryl unpinned the posting and folded it up before being grabbed. She trailed after Seth moving through the crowd again to the short steps to the hall entry. "I wonder what sort of person the chancelor is?"

Seth paused at the door and leaned against the wall near it. "I hear Chancellor Vittance is a reasonable old man. At the same time, I think we may have to lie to him." I don't know how seriously he takes children." She pulled at the door, opening it ajar and stepping toward the opening before continuing. "If anyone asks, you're a Gnome.", She handed Maryl a small badge. "Your name is Wynn Beren. You will refer to me as Shamil Turen, or Mil for short."

Maryl was a bit wierded out, but there was some good reasoning to Seth's plot. "Oh, okay. But what happens in four years when we get too tall to blend in with the gnomes?"

The Chancellor stood at the podium in the back of the meeting hall. He was looking over a massive law book and quietly mumbling to himself as he read the text.

"By that time, we'll have both reached the minimum age to take up city jobs and there won't be a problem. If not, there's always fake IDs" Seth started on her way to the podium confidently.

Maryl quietly followed after Seth, smiling. It occured to her that part of this disguise might be to follow Seth's lead. All she really had on was her usual magisters garb so it shouldn't be too difficult to get by.
Emeriss entered the main room of City hall sort of disillusioned. She began to walk toward the podium in search of the Chancellor.

Chancellor Vittance raised his eyes from the book and lowered his reading glasses. He saw two short people approaching from the main aisle, one of them had a paper which he would assume came from the bulletin board outside. He stepped out from behine the podium and made his way to the front of the stage before calling out to them, "Yes, can I help you?"

Seth stopped and bowed lightly. "Yes, we would like to take up the task of managing the disturbance in Pelions Bay." She motioned for Maryl to show the chancellor the paper.

Maryl held up the sheet and the badge. She tried not to get too carried away.
Emeriss came up to a short distance behind two people speaking with the Chancellor. She sighed and shifted impatiently, looking around the room. It was obvious she was being impatient even though she didn't have a Behest to inquire about.

The chancellor raised his glasses briefly, he knew what was on the page allready. He also caught a glimpse of the badge Maryl held up and nodded. "I see. Since you're the first to inquire about that mission, I've no reason to refuse. As long as you can deal with the problem and bring back some proof that you have. I assume you've read the report and know about the void in Pelions. Well there are also reports of some other-worldly influence expanding the void. Stop them and close the void." I can't help but wonder what the Tinker's Union wants with a magical disturbance, but then again they've made some attempts in the past to marry magic and technology. It seems absurd but I believe I can count on them to at least put an end to the problem.
He looked up from his visitors and saw a well dressed woman standing not too far away. "Yes, is there something you need?"

Seth nodded to the Chancellor and turned around, "Will do, chancellor! You can count on us." Seth motioned for Maryl to follow and started for the door, walking around Emeriss.
