This is a Private RP for myself and my Hana.. Please feel free to read, but do not post.. Thanks!

Triana stretched and yawned, flicking her tailfeathers out behind her. Talons dug into the dirt and dry grass, then released as she retracted them once more. Muscles loose with the nap and stretch, she flopped back to her belly. There was nothing to doooo! It was soooo hot anyway, she didn't really want to go far. The Sun Antelope stood in his full glory over the lands, golden and warm. The Prey Herds had moved to the cover of the forest edges, cool grazing places. Some lay amongst the scattered acacias on the savanah, gathered along the riverbank to drink, or moved toward the lusher grasslands. "No fun." Tria murmured to herself, her eyes flickering in disappointment.

Tengai had already eaten earlier in the day. But he still hadn't returned home for the day. Meshta was spending some time with his father, which was always good - it wasn't like he didn't enjoy spending time with his nephew. They'd grown up together, after all. If Meshta would allow himself the luxury of the word, Tengai would probably be the one best suited to the title of 'best friend'. But their entire family was important. Mothers, fathers, brothers, sisters... and usually some time with his dad left Meshta feeling a little better about himself. A little less out of place.
And as for the green lion himself, he really didn't mind being by himself. It gave him some time to think, take in a little bit of the world around him. Truthfully, it wasn't like he didn't get lonely. But he'd been lonely for so long that he'd just learned to ignore it. It was as much a part of his day as breathing by that point, and just as forgettable.
He watched the prey animals off in the distance with a faint smile. Sometimes he wondered what they were thinking. What life must've been like for them. But he didn't usually venture too far in that train of thought. Knowing him, he'd start feeling guilty for eating them.

Good thing she had eaten early.. A light meal early on would keep her from being to hungry, or getting sick from the full belly and the heat. Still, the young water buffalo had hardly seemed like a meal... "Better watch your figure, Tria lass." She chuckled to herself. "All your other friends are out there findin' handsome males to protect them.. and you?" She snorted and leapt from her perch on the slight hill, moving across the savanna with a lazy, graceful stride. "Well.." She sighed to herself. "You better just watch yourself." It wasn't all that unusual for Triana to talk to herself. Not like, crazy talk to herself, but just sort of thinking out loud. She did that a lot, especially when she had no other choice. Her family was never far, but they all seemed so busy of late.. She couldn't really remember when the last time was that they all really spent time together...

Tengai's ears perked forward, flakes quivering with curiosity. He could hear a voice nearby. A feminine voice. The green male rose with surprising grace onto his paws, stretching out the muscled form he still wasn't quite used to. He'd known he'd grow someday, or he'd hoped, but... he hadn't expected such a change. To go from something so small into something so imposing in what felt like no time at all.
He loped forward, catching sight of the lioness striding slowly across the lands. The young prince blinked once, twice. Oh, yes - come to think of it, he recognized her. Friend of his nephew's, right? Triana. The one who'd come just a little too close. He didn't know why the memory was enough to make his cheeks burn. And he decided he'd rather not think about it. Just an accident. Nothing to get worked up over.
"You probably should, " he couldn't help calling with a faint smile. "If I can get this close, you might be in trouble."

"Would serve me right..." She said absently.. "I nearly ran over.. OH!" She yelped and spun, facing him with a flick of her tail and ripple of her flakes. "Oh! Tengai, right!? You're Rakansii's uncle! Hello again..." She laughed softly, shaking her mane out of her eyes. "Sorry.. I wasn't really all here.. But then again, you probably heard me talking to myself and figured that out anyway, huh?" She felt the urge to blush and ducked her head, suddenly shy. Ok, so their last meeting hadn't started out too well (from where he sat) because she had nearly ran him over.. A liiittle too close for comfort. Which she hadn't really minded, if she was being completely honest. Focus, Tria! "Little too warm today, hmm? What are you doing way out here? I'd be at the falls in Cyan Serenity."

Tengai couldn't help but grin. "That's me." She'd remembered his name. Why should that be such a surprise? Rakansii had probably mentioned him enough. Said nothing for how memorable he was. "Hey to you too. And don't worry about it." He padded forward a few steps to stand side by side with her, looking a bit sheepish as he admitted, "I kinda do the same thing when I'm by myself. I like quiet, but sometimes..." He shook his head, abruptly averting his gaze. Why was he going on about it, anyway? The last thing she probably wanted was to sit there and listen to him ramble on.
It didn't stop him from flashing her another sheepish, but sweet smile at her question. "You're telling me. I may head back soon... could say I just needed some time to myself." Decent enough explanation, right? He peered at her from the corner of his warm brown eyes. "And what brings you here?"

Triana grinned back. There was something about his smile that was infectious. "Oh I have to worry about it a liiiittle." She teased. "Otherwise I'd be running over handsome lions left and right..." She frowned slightly. "I'm not sure that would be good for my reputation." Did she even have a reputation? Well.. If she started running over males, she'd get one, right quick too! Focus! She smiled at him as he stopped beside her. He was taller, of course. Most males seemed to be taller than her. She was a dainty thing, like a wild rose, her mother had said. Tiny and bright and beautiful. Did Tengai think she was beautiful? "Time alone is nice, every once in awhile.." She agreed with a nod. "Me? Oh I was just wandering.. I do that..." Now it was her turn to smile sheepishly.
