You will never see this on Runescape.

In this thread, we pretty much talk about things that we will NEVER see on Runescape, despite how awesome it would be.

Let me give you a few examples;

1. Breeding - I was thinking about what I said a few days ago about an Animal Husbandry Skill (pretty much animal breeding) And Kail brought up how it was just Summoning.

But no, in Summoning you don't choose the top of the line animal of it's kind, you get one that's identical to the rest of it's kind. By breeding your animals (which ends with inbreeding) You end up with a more superior race, with the magic of Selective Breeding! That way, you don't just have any old Spirit Wolf fallower that's just another clone of it's kind, no instead you have your very own Golden Spirit Wolf! This whole skill can be related to how you inbreed Chocobos in Final Fantasy games, or how you breed Pokemon to get the best egg-moves you can.

But, we'll never see it. Why? Because, do you really think the 12 year olds can handle breeding their animals together even though it won't be shown without them whacking it to the thought?

2. Mounts - So, you now have your kick a** Golden Spirit Wolf from selective breeding, and you think to yourself "I could use this thing to get to places FASTER!" So with that, you jump on your Golden Spirit Wolf and travel very quickly over oceans and mountains (because it's golden) Not just that, but you have your Horses that you could ride instead, or maybe if you feel like showing off, your Blue Dragon.

To bad that'll never happen. Because, with all the teleporting spells and new ways of transportation, being able to run a little faster just won't be worth Jagex's effort. Hell, you have infinite run energy with a Terror bird, that's just another reason you could just run yourself instead of riding the damn bird like a Chocobo.

Discuss;
-Things we will never see on Runescape.
-Why people expect to see stupid s**t on Runescape (such as sailing)
-How not everyone has sexy Japanese step-sisters that fancies some incest like in anime/manga.
-But I Don't Feel Like Dancin'
-When the old Joanna plays,
-My heart could take a chance,
-But my two feet can’t find a way,
-You'd think that I could muster up a little soft-shoe gentle sway,
-But I don’t feel like dancin’
-No sir, no dancin’ today!

Just to partially go against your first theory of why breeding wouldn't work (which I don't think it would work either really).
With the 12 year old thing, Jagex actually said that they consider most of runescape players to be 18+ sweatdrop

Anyways, to add my own would be guns or things like that.
I'm pretty sure Jagex also mentioned this would never come out but also I find it funny how I still see the forums with things like, "on top of sailing, we are still waiting for guns to be released."
And there already is kind of a gun in the game, the dwarf cannon thing and it just shows how large it is to make a gun-like weapon in the times that runescape is set in.

Personally, I think they could make guns work. I guess Im too used to Final Fantasy Tactics...meh, but I could still picture them in Rs.

I think it would be neat to have Summoning act a little more like Pokemon. Like, have the ability to level up your familiars and let them learn new abilities. Summoning pouches would be the pokeballs, but when you use your pouch, you continuously call out the same exact familiar with the levels you have trained for it already, similar to Pokemon. I think this would make summoning a hell of a lot more interesting, as well as bring in far more s**t you can do when you're bored of smacking things in the face with a whip.

I don't see it ever happening, though. >.>

There would only be about 10 of us in each of those worlds. And only 5 of us would be over 18. sweatdrop

i don't know about this but i doubt seeing players with subraces imagine your character as a dragonkin or an elf or maybe even a goblin each with special abilities then runescape would be just a low detail version of wow and what fun is that.

Well they said the worlds too but they still also said they thought most people who play runescape are in college which would be 18+.
I'm pretty sure they said that at least sweatdrop

Really, if they just put in the effort, anything that you could see in a simple game of dungeons and dragons you could see in runescape. It all depends on how hard the Jag staff are willing to work. Of course I say that rather loosely on account of the fact that I have NO programming experience...

agrees with Bombi.

I have attempted Java and learning programing... taken a class too and those assignments were easy but ******** hard to make! Such as vending machine.... Basic calculator....

It may not be easy, but just look at what they've done so far? I have a tiny bit of faith that the jag staff could do so much more... What I would be astonished if they put in right now would be a distinguishable difference between night and day. Seasons would be great outside of holiday events... but I'm not pushing it.
