So I have an idea. What if we where to make a comic about the guild? Using members of the guild as characters and making "Anachronism" a flying steampunk city or something.

Sadly I am not a good enough artist to do the drawing. I am ok but I would like someone more talented to do it so its not just "ok" its epic.

Not that its up to me but I do not want it to be a "one man job". I'd like it if it was something the whole guild could do. Like everyone could collaborate the story line and toss out ideas. One person could do the art. And like 5 of us could "direct it" so to speak, like improve on ideas, decide what to use and not to use, wright scripts, etc. I would like to be one such director. Or have a part in it some way. But I'd also be content just being a character in the comic ^_Q (witch I hope to do anyway, directer or not)

What do you think? Do you like the idea? Think we could do it? If enough people are up for it and like the idea then we can seriously start discussing putting it together. Hopefully we will get something going that people will enjoy reading as much as making.

UPDATE I have made a sub-thread HERE please take the time to check it out. Thank you

UPDATE A story line has been chosen! Also the cast list has been expanded on. Please view the subthread in the link above to see

Totally personal opinion, don't let me depress ya-- Frankly, I don't think it'd work. Too many characters, too much plot; the artist would drown.

I DO think that several artist could do it, or do some non-linear serials... Maybe a sticky(or just thread) moderated by voting. Propose a plot, something good. Doesn't have to be funny, just SOMETHING. Not too detailed, just a plot(no getting all "no, I pictured him more angry in that scene" about a plot you pitched). Then vote for the best, and let any artist who wants to give it a shot draw it. Keep links to the pieces in an early post.

If it does happen, just letting you know I can do the cging (colouring) if someone will email me drawings. I can't draw unless you want stick figures. XD
Lamia is right though... did you notice how many people we have? (o_Q) It'd take ages to get everyone to appear over the course of the comic.
/twopence
Edit: Ah~! There would be an easier way to make a comic: tektek everyone! biggrin Then all one would have to draw is the backgrounds.

well yea, we wouldent use everyone. But we could decide on several people and the guild could help plot the story. we could also do cameos and guest appearances for other people who want to be in it from time to time.

But as I said I would like it to be a guild thing. So I want to know how you all think it should go.

With tektek we could do a sprite-comic. But even a non-sprite will need tektek; just to reference the "clothing" and "characters". And anyone involved has to be warned; you have NO control over how you're drawn. the artist wouldn't have time for it.

>.> That's not art, it's tracing. I do some sig-art, and I'd love to work on a comic, but I get a lot of "Just a little more muscled?" and I have to say, "NO. If it were the difference tween girly-looking and buff, I might care. But take it as it is; I will not draw the image in your head!"

lol casting call would demand someone design their basic avatar that would never change in the comic and post an image of them in each pose

at least then if it becomes a sprite comic all the character work is done

oh, thats what you meant XD

I misunderstood, I thought you meant like the artist might draw them missing important features (like hair color or something)

A sprite comic would be by far the easiest, but an anime would be epic.

Though if we do comic, I have a feeling we will end up doing a sprite. But that could end up being just as awesome.

I did a sprite comic (well, it didn't last long) for a game I was playing, and it was fairly simple (it was MapleStory~ (x_x)).
I think there's a way to reference poses with tektek; if you click the "?" when you add an item to your avatar, it will take you to the information about it, and there you can change the poses by clicking each item.
Someone could just draw from that.... though I'm not sure how well it would work out in the end.

Give me a description of the Anachronism in relatively good detail, and a few of the ships that visit regularly, and I could get some designs started.
Every 2 months, lets say, we can add a few new ships and crews to the list of characters until we had as much of the guild as possible represented in this.
Also, after the preliminary drawings are done, we would need to work on the story. This would not be a quick job, but it is very possible.
