Physical Description: Of medium build. She's 5 foot, 7 inches, and neither under- or over-weight. While not in peak physical condition, she appears more "cushioned" than actually plump, and not enough to notice. She has incredibly short, dirty-blonde hair, almost boyish in length - she likes it to be playful and fluffy. There's a subtle beauty mark right below her lips to the bottom left, one of her distinguishing features. She has a medium Caucasian-style skintone, and gray eyes with an almost blue hue.
Personality: She's rather random and bipolar, according to her friends, but truthfully just a bit unpredictable. When faced with serious situations, she's very serious, if not a bit bitchy. However, when there's room to relax and if she's with friends, she becomes a bit wildly spontaneous. She holds her friends in high regard, and is more loyal to them than family - unless, of course, she manages to Impress a dragon. Being a teenager, she does secretly want attention from the opposite sex, but those feelings don't consume her. In fact, she's rather cold to any kind of affection and is somewhat conservative in her mannerisms and morals. However, she cannot hold grudges longer than perhaps five minutes and is oblivious to predujices or hatred. In fact, it's hard to make her mad - Devaan is an eternal optimist.
History: Devaan grew up in the Ista Hold on the other end of the island, but has always been fascinated by dragons. She spent much of her time daydreaming out on the roof, trying to train her eyes to see the majestic forms swooping about in the distance. This, of course, was nigh impossible even for her exceptional eyes, but still she watched, letting her imagination do the work for her. Her artistic abilities would find her doodling them absentmindedly, and her mind was always elsewhere. Since childhood, she'd nagged her parents almost constantly to move there and grow up as a Weyrbrat or someother, but they always adamantly refused, elaborating on the dangers of a dragonrider's life. But when she finally reached 15 turns of her life, they let her go by herself after having been chosen as a candidate by some recruiters. So now she lives at the Ista Weyr, still relatively new to the place but absorbing information like a sponge, and eager for the next clutch.

Other/Talents: She's incredibly artistic, both visually and musically, and appreciates the beauty of nature to a great extent, able to pick out every color in the rainbow in even something monochromatic. Thus, she has surprisingly sharp eyes.
