I know this has all been dead for a while, and the RP probably needs to reboot again, and I blame myself for a lot of that. But I will not surrender! We can still achieve greatness, just this time with a little less ADHD....
So here's my plan, we clean up the species, cut out the fat, I know the dragon species is awesome and all but one of their points is that there are very few in the human world so we should leave them mostly out for now and just have what few (probably singular) characters of that race as exceptions.
Likewise all the other continents are now on hold, I got sidetracked and that was one of the biggest reasons I got lost in all this.
First step, we're naming the main continent.
My thoughts on that, in the real world every group with it's own language names everything in that language, Americans say Germany, Germans say Deutchland, so really there should be three names, what the Cetan call the land, what the Korat call the land, and what the Humans call the land
The Korat being people of the land probably think of the land as a god(dess) so it would share it's name with one of their many gods.
I see the Cetan as being a lot like Germany, so while not believing it to be alive they have great respect for it, and treat it as sacred, it would have a name that reflects that.
The humans being from another, far more cruel land probably had myth of the continent for ages, thinking of it as a paradise full of wealth. It would have a name that naturally makes people aspire to reach.
Of course the problem with all of this is that only Humans speak in english so for the other two languages this all means nothing save for the concept that should be included in the mostly random series of sound we must now decide upon.
Once we decide on a name we'll talk about the next step, but one step at a time for now!

To be clear on the races bit, we're cutting it down to Humans, Korat, and Cetan, the rest are by definition not going to be very common in the current world so at this time we're not going to waste valuable attention on them

TAMANI!!! PULIA HE FOLOA!!!!
Sorry Lily, been lost for quite a while. I just decided to drop by, hasn't been any activity in this guild for about 5 months now..... so........... I just wanted to let you know that I'll still be here if you want me. I recently opened an internet café out here in Tonga, so now I have unlimited access to the internet. So ummmm.... P.M. when you get this because I don't know how long that will be.

PM me if you need any help Lily.
I know I have yet to toss my character into the fray but I am still very willing to help construct the world. It is a very fascinating place. So I check in every once in a while to see if there is anything new to do.

all three of them have a good ring to them, if I might say so Delmore sounds plenty good by itself, and after, what was it, a thousand years of human occupation whatever it was originally is likely to have been warped and simplified; on that thought, Dagram sounds nice to me. Though one could theorize that Delmore and Dagram being so similar might suggest the races had prior involvement in the early stages of their linguistic development, and nether of them sound right for the Korat

Back to work I go. Hopeful I can craft something viable.
Kura-Kura Guri Yaerah Gahvett
Trying to work with the G sound you where looking for. You mentioned above you wanted something with a G. Found it kind of difficult to work with.

the G thing was mostly a passing fancy, it's a nice sound though, and nothing wrong with some random direction to help us get moving.
I'm having a thought, when you think cat sounds, you think hissing and meowing, which kinda makes me think of Russian and the Slavic languages with all their harsh consonants and all, now saying that, I have no idea if Kura fits, but I like it. And I'd say Yaerah or Gahvett would fit the Cetan nicely, I lean towards Yaerah.
So then Delmore or Dagram, not that I have any idea what I'm talking about, but Dagram sounds Germanic, maybe Irish or Scottish (not that I know the difference), while Delmore sounds more like what I imagine people from Britain or Rome would have sounded like way back then. does that mean anything?

which explain why it sounds midevil or whatever
so then we've almost picked out all the requisit names, then we just need to pick what order to put them in and change the subforum.
Obviously since the Cetan have been mostly banished from the continent not many will call it by their name so it would be last, and the civilization of the continent is mainly human, so they should be first
Delmore, Yaerah, Kura
Delmore, Gahvatt, Kura
Dagram, Yaerah, Kura
Dagram Gahvatt, Kura
Which set looks best? I'm saying, like Delmore and Dagram, Dagram and Yaerah look too (linguistically) similar to be from races with out a shared history. But then with Delmore, I like Yaerah more, but somehow Gahvatt seems more fitting

*Smiles* That's quite a pickle. It's too bad we don't have more active members. Then we could have put it too a vote.
