I'm not usually the type of person who enjoys being a strict admin, but I have recently had to clean up the guilds main forum... and I think that I need to explain things to some of the members old and new alike. This guild is an rp guild (rp means role-playing) and as such most of the threads are part of a continuous roleplay scenario. the guild is designed to work like this:
1)you create a profile describing the fictional character you will be playing as and post it in the appropriate thread, which means if your character is a student you post it in the student profile thread, if your character is a teacher you post your profile in the teacher profile thread. also if you decide to make a teacher you must specify your class and create a thread with that class name as the subject so your "students" have a place to report to for class.
2)from here things begin to get a little more free-form. all you do is begin roleplaying, imagine what the character you created would do in the situation that unfolds between you and the other members. it's as simple as that.
now that the basics are out of the way I need to cover some other issues, the subforums. we now have four and I would greatly appreciate if you would use them properly.
1)housing and dorms- this subforum is designed to be the houses and bedrooms of the characters in the school. anything that happens in a dorm or home should be posted in your own thread if it is your home or the home of whoever you are visiting.
2)conference room(ooc)- this is where all ooc (out-of-character) conversations should be held. in other words any conversation in which you are not acting as the character you posted a profile for should happen here, the ONLY exceptions are the profile threads and my announcements. if you feel it is neccesary to make a note from yourself irl (in-real-life) then please make sure that you surround your ooc talk with double parenthasis: ((example))
3)side stories- this is for those little adventures and background stories that take place outside the boundries of the school's grounds. here you still play as your character.
4)unrelated rps- recently I have noticed that quite a few of our new members have felt the need to start a thread for a new rp within the main forum where the main rp takes place. like I have already said this entire guild is an ongoing rp, not multiple but one. if you feel the need to start an rp of your own feel free to do so here, but NOWHERE ELSE.
If you have recently posted a thread that falls under one of these four categories and can no longer find it I may have moved it or I deleted it. either way I'm sorry if the layout of the guild was not initially clear, but I hope this helps. please pm me under the subject of "new rules" by May 31st, otherwise you will be banned. If you have any questions please include them in the pm. I'm sorry it has come down to this but this rp has been going on for almost two years now, and I don't want to see it fall into chaos.
