I made a topic of this nature before but it seems to have disappeared...so here it is again

This is for discussing anything that has to do with the paranormal. Ghosts, zombies, cryptozoology, UFOs, unexplained events, etc.

Talk about your own personal experiences, tell legends, share facts supporting (or if your a skeptic and you just have to, debunking) paranormal events.

Please note this is for real life paranormal discussion, I'd appreciate videogame and TV things left out of this thread. Though saying things like "it was kind of like in that movie..." is ok

I look forward to hearing what you ll have to say. Thank you

What people consider "paranormal" is pretty "normal" for me.

I don't jump when the lights go out or when a squirrel or mouse finds its way into my walls and scratches.

But on average, I bump into something quite strange at least once a month. Sometimes, it's disembodied voices that sound like garble, other times, it's a quick flash of movement where nothing was, a touch, or something else like that. I don't freak out (maybe just a little, mainly my skin crawling), but I raaaaage like a mother effer.

I'm a strong believer in the paranormal. One of my dream hobbies would be paranormal investigations, but unfortunately there's no nearby group that would accept me without some sort of professional interest, nor do I have the time to go ghost-hunting myself.
My belief in the paranormal is what keeps life from seeming too mundane. ;]

i cant answer the poll, as it doesnt define what you mean by paranormal.

i dont beleve in ghosts, monsters, or anything like that

however, i do beleive in Telepathy, but not telekintics. i beleive in telepathy because i am a telepath myself. it is random, but sometimes i will just answer something that hasnt been said yet, to which the person who was going to ask the question looks at me quizzically. usually i hear what someone is going to say before they say it, so i answer, sometimes, when i dont answer, i hear a mimic of the question i just heard in my head... it is odd, to say the least, but then again, we only use like 12% of our brain at any time, so it isn't unexplainable.

To say I am a skeptic would be an understatement.

I'm fairly skeptical. For everything I've experienced I always try very hard to find the logical background. Not everything I've experienced has a good explanation.

And whenever the subject of money comes up in regards to the paranormal I know it's a scam. Call me cheap, call me a skeptic, doesn't matter to me.

As for not believing in monsters I must ask, what is your definition of a monster? A giant hairy beast with 3 legs and magic powers? If thats the case then I mist say I don't either. But to me a monster is just a strange and usually undiscovered creature. Anything that could be considered Cryptozoology

And the bit about being telepathic is cool. I myself have somewhat of a 6th sense but I will only go into detail about it when asked. I've grown tired of the "LOL UR CRAZY" remarks I get

Yea, I agree. Like those "go on a real ghost hunt for $99.95" things. I believe in the paranormal not because I watch Ghost Hunters or something on TV but because of my own personal real life experiences. To blindly believe something because a book or TV program tells you is foolish. So I go by what I know.

I always like to keep an open mind about things. I am never 100% sure or 100% unsure of anything.

Yes. I have quite a few reasons to believe in the paranormal, but I'm only going to list two of the major ones in my life. Note: pretty long-winded, lengthy stories ahead~

When I was a child living on a couple acres of land (we couldn't call it a farm, but we did have a few chickens, and a sheep and sometimes wild horses and our neighbour's cows) I'd always see this figure, and he'd either be standing in one of the bedroom doorways, or at the end of the hall. I never saw him anywhere else.

Out of the corner of my eye I always thought it was my father or another family member, but when I'd ask them if they were there, they always said they hadn't been, especially as they just got home, etc. I was always alone when I saw this figure. One day I could see him clearly suddenly, dressed in a Confederate uniform. He had no colour, and he was just a shadowy grey. Sometimes after that, I could completely see him and other times he was just a shadow. And one day, I just stopped seeing him.

This next one has real significance for me, because it was a dear friend who appeared to me and saved my life. We had been travelling to her memorial service, and I had been running on very little sleep, was still grieving heavily, and was just all-round irritable.
My mum wanted a swim in the hotel pool, so she got us all up at 7am so we could do this before breakfast (she's an early riser anyway).

If I don't get enough sleep, I am prone to these spells where I have a slight seizure and pass out. Well long story short is, I had one of these attacks whilst in the pool. One minute I was awake, the next I was not even aware of my predicament or that it was even me there. My friend put her hand on my shoulder and was whispering in my ear, "Wake up. You're drowning." and she kept increasing her volume until she was shouting. When she shouted and shook my shoulder (I could physically feel this), my eyes popped open underwater, I went to the surface and gasped and started flailing.

By this time my brother had already seen me and was trying to pull me out of the pool when I "woke up". He said that it was a good thing I woke up just then or he would've had to perform CPR. This freaked me out for the rest of my trip, but I'm glad my friend's spirit was still on the earthly plane to save me like that. (^_Q)
