So, how did you get hooked to this wild form of art? Post your stories on your bombed-up life. Quote: I'm a NewGen, I'm sorry to say I didn't grow up in the rising ages. Hell, I'm not even a hip-hop fan. I'm your average goth kid. I've always been into art. I lived near a train station, and i used to watch them go by all the time, and look at all the colors and words. I couldn't read most of them. I knew it was grafitti, so I searched it up, and found the good old generator. Me and my buddy Jesse started hitting up. Lunar and Fallen. Later, a tagger named Shuffle took me underhis wing. In the end, I ended up almost stabbing him after he beat the s**t out of me. He still uses the crew name I came up with "Vandals Of Windsor" So, I caught up with my buddy Ben, and he took on the name solar. Straight edged throwies galore, in our signiature yellow and purple names. Later I took on the name LAK, and went solo, and crossed out ever Shuffle & VOW I saw. After a while, I met Rawkit. We formed Vandals In Action, along with Fail, who was originally Fallen (when I started), as well as Rawkits friend Vaper. Now we are looking for others to teach and learn from. Tank (previously Fallen) has alot to learn, he never did straight lines, and he refuses to. update..againAnd ofcourse nothing lasts, so that ended too. Me & Rawkit got into a fight because he's a very judging person. Apparently I'm a freak. So, me and Tank (who still doesn't do straight letters D=), and Time (previously known as Solar, my old partner in crime xD) started a small crew called AeroSOUL Writers Crew, aka AWC. You guys?

around 2007 i started for reason i can't remember but i was hooked and at times when I was in low spirits I would go out and bomb the ******** out of every place i could until i had no cans left. Starting beef on purpose until the drama drew me out of the ditches and I got hooked on freights and ballsy public spots.
these days the adrenaline rush feels too dirty, kinda tweaky. I prefer a chill trainyard and a well thought out piece.

My interest in the hip-hop culture. When I became more knowledgeable and found out that hip-hop was more than just music. I think like 4 years ago or so? (If I remember correctly).

Since middle school all my homies were taggers or in tagging crews so I knew what was up already. Also living in a border city of LA caused me to see the graff everywhere. Always loved art & wanted to find my own calling & oddly enough after the years I've fallen in love with the graff. =]

I originally looked into graff back in '07 for some design work I was doing. I found all this stencil stuff amazing. So I got into the artsy side more than anything. I loved the idea of ******** with strangers heads, spreading messages or just in general, making the street an interesting place to be. Went by the name of IFM, and still do. september 07 our government started trying to pass a law which would suppress political commentary and the likes for an entire year leading up to the election. This mobilized me, gave me a reason to go out there.
So, no crew, no beef, just someone that from time to time gets so ******** off with whats going on takes it to the street.

I've been doing alot of political stickers recently. It's not so much something that's happening here in canada as it is that no government in our country is takig large action.

I loved graffiti since i was 11 years old. We had this old wall beside our school and we used to tag alot there. The thrill graffiti is truly amazing. And hip-hop inspired me to Rep my own town.

When I was only a few years younger i went through a rebellious phase that started with graffiti, moved into drugs, gangs, gang riots at parties, arrests... I was already into art and i used my talent for it as a way to get respect where a skinny white stoner usually wouldnt get respect. in the end i dunno if i can say it's worth it or not. They go hard on graffiti, Felony. It trips me out still

And by "I almost stabbed him" in my first post? Yeah, I'm not violent from that. I'm a peaceful person but I was young and stupid and WAANTED to stab him. Didn't come close.
Aaand I just grew up a bit over the years and got into the arts side of it. I'm an artist and a writer. Although it's so connected, I almost view it as one now. I do other art to, but minimally.
There's another reason I don't fit in with the writing community. xP. You don't see it in my online persona (I've heard from friends it doesn't show), but I'm very, very feminine. Every other person I meet thinks I'm gay. And most my friends are girls. (And I have a bit of a submissive fetish, which doesn't help. TMI ftw?) So yeah. I'm the gayest straight guy in the world xD. And y'know what? I'm damn proud of who I am. I enjoy my life, and that's all there is to it.
Another reason I definitley don't fit in. xP I am such not a party person. xD I hate parties, I don't smoke, drink, and have never done any drugs. (I'll drink if it's there, but that's about it). And I am a long-term relationship guy, a small group of friends, etc.
Well, there you have it. I'm an artsy f*****t with no right to be here. Deal with it.
