"Honestly the impudence of some! Arrogant..Hippocratic.." daskri muttered darkly to himself, his normally well kept braid undone and loose the golden strands hanging down behind him like a cape, bits of branch and leave's sticking out from his hair, bangs hanging down into his eyes..He felt the distinctive need to go off somewhere and take a long cold bath, or a hot one, but really who needed something so trivial as warm water!?
The little twilif hardly realizing that he probably looked crazy at the moment, talking to himself, flustered as he was, not that the markings painted onto his face helped that any, but normally he kept himself much prettier then he was at the moment. Despite his love of paint and messes he did enjoy keeping clean and neat, specially where his hair was concerned. The fretting little twilif ducking a low branch, hardly aware of what part of the woods he was in..or where he was for that matter, not that it mattered at all to him half the time. Paying to much attention to not being smacked in the face by a tree to pay attention to the ground beneath his feet. A split second wide eyed look of shock as his foot caught a large snaking tree root, sending him sprawling onto his chest, face first in the dark grass and the dirt.
A low audible groan could be heard, lifting his head briefly before letting it flop back onto the ground. "Fine then..I shall lay here in the dirt and rot! Seeing as that is the fates wishes.." he muttered into the grass, sighing dramatically as he rolled onto his back. He missed the stars, he hated trees, with their tall canopy's and limbs and leaves that hid everything above, the only thing they were useful for was climbing. Letting his mismatched eyes close as he lay there imagining the stars since he couldn't quit see them, was it even night time? Again he was unsure, but whether it was or wasnt he would imagine the stars anyways..

Zahara was drifting aimlessly among the trees. It was a favorite past-time of hers; she would drift somewhere peaceful, in a not-quite-solid form, and let the wishes of the Earthens sift through her entire being.
She found it easier to feel the true intent of the wish this way.
For the moment, she was perfectly content drift in the general direction of her favorite place: a clearing with a large, moss-covered rock. It was right near a small hill where a natural spring emerged from the ground---creating a modest waterfall and boasting a small pond-basin. It was a perfect napping spot if there was enough sun to keep warm.
Zahara soon found herself drifting over the stream that was created by the run-off from her pond... and was very amused to note that, while she was in a more energy-based form, she looked like a small galaxy of stars.
Hovering for a moment and enjoying the rare experience of being able to see herself as a collection of stars, Zahara was somewhat shocked to hear one of the nearby trees heave a gusty sigh. She stopped abruptly, anxiously seeking the source of the rather obnoxious noise.
"I-is... some...on-one... there?"

Daskri blinked upon hearing the sound of another's voice, opening his eyes briefly to gaze up, and see..stars? Well maybe he'd had his eyes closed a bit too long! Sighing and letting them fall closed again as he answered the rather ethereal sounding voice, really it had quite a pleasant tone to it even if whoever was speaking did sound a bit nervous.
"No, no one here, pay no heed to the sighing and the moaning! I'm just making a scene..muttering to myself.." daskri chuckled, running a hand through his hair as he sat up slowly, making an annoyed face when he found bits of twigs. The little twilif letting out a huff of breath as he brought his hair over his shoulder meticulously starting to work on picking out the icky debris. Still slightly curious on the voice though he didnt expect it to answer again, he would rather like to see whoever it was who had such a sweet voice.

Realizing the voice was coming from directly below her, Zahara shifted her gaze down to see a strikingly marked, but noticeably disgruntled twilif sitting on the ground combing through its hair. The little one appeared to be trying to remove some leaves and twigs... but did not seem to notice that the debris was not only in his hair, but sticking to him everywhere.
It was one of the cutest things Zahara had seen in recent memory.
She sank towards the earth, materializing slowly, hoping to not startle the little one too much. Landing silently, she could not quite bite back her soft giggle as she reached out and removed a leaf that been pierced by the twilif's unbroken horn.

Tilting his head curiously upon hearing a giggle..a giggle in the middle of an empty forest! Well empty of course accept for that thing that had chased him..with ears and a tail and fangs and glowing eyes! "Oh gods..I really am going mad" daskri thought quietly to himself, worrying a bit, it was one thing to talk to yourself, but it was another entirely to hear voices that werent there! Unless..did trees giggle?
Flinching slightly as he heard the crackle of light feet against the ground, or was that the wind, looking up as he unfocused from hims task with his hair, eyes widening slightly at the visage before him, a beautiful slim green constellation female. His little mouth dropping open in awe as he watched her stand there with a leaf that had..well very likely come from somewhere on his personage. "Ahh..hello there..Well then! This means Im not going crazy" daskri laughed slightly, the startled little twilif letting out a sigh and slumping forwards a bit. "I'm Daskri mal, and I've had a bad day. How about you miss?" he smiled at her lightly drawing his magical paintbrush seemingly from the air, extending his paint brush in lieu of a handshake. She was a constellation, well obviously by that beauty but also by the way she seemed to act, he couldnt help but feel friendly towards her.

Zahara looked up from the leaf she had removed from the twilif's horn in time to see him look up from his attempts at fixing himself. Seeing his eyes widen, she was worried she had frightened the little one...until he began babbling slightly.
How sweet, it seemed he was slightly flustered upon encountering a constellation... of course, it could just be a combination of his bad day... and was that a paint brush? A paint brush?! Zahara's curiosity was piqued.
"It is a pleasure to meet you, Daskri Mal," Zahara cooed delicately. "It is unfortunate you have had a less than pleasant day, it has been a beautiful one for me! I am known as..." she trailed off, distracted by the twilif's offering. "...I must admit to being curious little one, you do not intend to get paint on me do you?" Zahara cocked her head slightly, giving the young one a bemused look.

"The pleasures all mine!" he smiled slightly, indeed she was very sweet, even her voice was sweet! Almost like hearing the sound of melted chocolate..if that made any sense, definitely didn't sound like pixi stixs..
Chuckling happily and nodding, indeed he'd had far less then a pleasant day, hardly a clean day "Ahh its alright, I've had better I'll say that for sure! At least you've had a good day though I'm glad to hear that much" he nodded grinning giddily, rather happy to see her notice his unique little eh, well his paint brush. "That depends, do you intend to get painted? Of course then again if you wish you could always paint me" he nodded, chewing on his lip slightly before leaning forwards to place a single dot of blue on her dainty little foot, not really wanting to get any more then that on her, honestly she was already a work of art! A masterpiece in fact.
"There, now we're officially friends..you must think I'm horribly strange?" really he was sure she did, which truly was alright by him, though he did want her to like him..yes daskri would enjoy that very much if she liked him.

Finding herself charmed and highly amused, Zahara lifted her foot slightly to look at the blue spot. An odd one indeed, she thought; absently pondering his question.
"I assure you, Daskri Mal, that while you certainly seem unique; I would not call you 'strange.' Earthens wish for 'strange' things. You are simply different; as you get older and experience more, I hope you come to find that this is a good thing." Zahara looked up from her foot and smiled at the twilif as she finished speaking, hoping she did not sound as though she was lecturing the little one: he had managed to catch her in a philosophical mood.
Recalling suddenly that she had never finished introducing herself, Zahara flushed slightly, "Please excuse my ...flightiness. I was not expecting to keep company with anyone this afternoon. As I was starting to say, I am known as Zahara..."
Interrupting her own thought process yet again, Zahara realized that the twilif was still sitting in the dust, covered in leaves and brambles. Mentally rolling her eyes at herself, she offered a hand to the young one.
"Would you care to walk with me a bit little one? I am going to one of my favorite hide-aways in this part of the forest... and there is something there I think you would greatly enjoy..." letting out a soft chuckle and thinking about the waterfall in her clearing, the constellation waited to see if her offer of assistance would be accepted.

"Unique.." daskri tried the word out, saying it a few times with diferent inflections, haha unique! What a quaint fun little word! "Unique! I like that, sounds much better then strange..ah..your right the earthens are, interesting, with their wishes" he nodded happily taking in her words with an open mind, glad his little dot of friendship had been accepted. He had an odd trait of marking people as friends with his magical paint brush, it was his way of remembering who he'd met even if he couldn't always remember their names he could always remember who he'd left paint on..goodness so odd..
"Ah, Zahara even your name is pretty!" he chuckled as he watched her blush, it was cute "Its alright, I find I'm often scatter brained myself, cutting off my own sentences to start new ones" tilting his head slightly and grinning as she did it once more, well maybe he wasnt that flighty but still it was cute with her, seeing a constellation do it well it gave him a little bit of hope. Maybe someday he too could become a great constellation, a painter of stars!
"A walk? I'd love it! much better then sitting here I supposed" taking her hand and gratefully using her help to stand up, brushing off what bits of dirt he could in vain. "Oooh a hide away? Hide aways are wonderful, I'd love to see it, secret places are always full of shiny things and memories and neat cozy little alcoves." he rambled happily, letting his rather vivid imagination run wild as he tried to picture what her hide away in the forest must look like, so far the forest had not been to kind to him.

Helping the little twilif to his feet, Zahara could not help but smile at Daskri's babble. He was the most talkative creature she had encountered!
Now... which way to go to her clearing? She usually flew there, but she did not think the little one had any flight abilities and she did not want to make this walk any more difficult for him than necessary... it looked as though he had been through enough for one day.
Leading Daskri gently towards some of the large trees, hoping their canopies would block the light and make the ground clearer for travel, Zahara grinned as he finished rambling. "You sound well-versed on hide-aways little one, do you have a secret hideout somewhere?

Daskri smirked at the question "The universe is my hide away!" he announced proudly, giving her a grin as he followed along, she almost glowed in the soft darkness of the forest..oh wait! Haha they both glowed! At least..somewhat..
"I do have my own personal little place though..ah at least I plan on acquiring one. It'll happen eventually, I'll make my own little hidden paradise, painted by yours truly" he sighed contently, scanning the forest floor and above. He had to admit he was curious about her, and she was very fun, and she listened to him! No one listened to him ever! Well..yes..no one, maybe he overdid it a bit much at times?

"An artist twilif?" How interesting. Zahara was rather curious as to why the little one had a paint brush and a sycthe... but no lantern in sight. "If I may ask... why is it you do not carry a lantern Daskri Mal? How were you called into being?"
The twilif seemed curious and Zahara hoped that if she started asking questions, perhaps the little one would feel at ease to ask what he would as well.
Watching the ground carefully for roots and large branches, and waiting for the twilif to answer, Zahara was surprised that she could already hear the murmur of her waterfall. I suppose I was closer than I thought when Daskri startled me. Zahara observed the twilif, who was slightly behind her, wondering if he had heard the muted roar of the water yet.

"Indeed I am! At least that's my current profession..I adore painting, the colors and how they mix, its all so, peaceful" he nodded smiling softly, giving her a curious look when she asked, apparently shed noticed. "You may, I dont mind answering questions" no not at all. Noticing the slight sound of rushing water, a bit of a back drop to their conversation, he almost hadnt heard it over his own voice.
"Well my hands are full you see, no room to carry a lantern" daskri said teasingly, mulling over his answer quietly for a moment, really how did he go about explaining it? "I was called into being through a strong desire to defend. Originally you see I was a fighter, heh I used to have a love of adrenalin, and violence..blood.." he said sheepishly, as though he didn't truly enjoy talking about it. "All for good of course, It's not in my nature to be violent without cause. That is the past though, my present and future is in art! Painting is my passion, hee hee something I think im good at even if some others wouldn't agree on it" it was what made him happy after all and wasn't that all that mattered?
"What about you hmm, constellations don't carry lanterns..did you come with one!? I bet you were a beautiful twilif" he beamed laughing lightly as he followed her, hoping her pretty hide away was near.

Zahara managed to stifle her grin when she noticed the twilif looking around curiously. He must have heard the waterfall. She looked around carefully for the break in the treeline that would lead to her clearing... there it was! Just a bit further...
"You will have to show me some of your work Daskri Mal." Zahara was slightly distracted but her focus was drawn abruptly by the mention of blood...
"It seems many of our people were called into being through battle of some sort... since we are based on wishes, I fine this a sadly telling statement about the concerns of Earthens." Zahara frowned slightly at the thought. "I was called into the world through a candle into being as a normal twilif with a lantern," Zahara laughed gently, "I would not say I was any more beautiful than any other... though my first friend once I came into being as a twilif is very beautiful. I have not seen her in a long time."
Zahara reached through the drooping branches of a willow and pulled open a doorway into her sanctuary. "Welcome Daskri Mal to my little corner of the forest." Zahara stood to the side of the doorway she had created to give the twilif an unhindered view of the small clearing. The waterfall murmured merrily at the left side, churning the surprisingly deep, but small pool below it. The right side of the clearing was open and dotted with wildflowers. The center was dominated by a large, flat-topped, moss-covered rock. Zahara sighed happily at the sunbeams that dancing in the air, free from the canopy that shaded the rest of the forest.

"Really!" he beamed eyes seeming to glimmer with happyness "Really really? Haha! No one ever wants to see, im such a nuisance I suppose but..if youd really like too. I cant promise its any good but it is nice" he bounced about happily. Frowning a bit when she mentioned earthens wishes.."Im sure they have no true Ill purposes behind them. I suppose though, even bad things can come out of good wishes cant they?" he couldn't fathom why anyone would make a bad wish a harmful wish, the earthens were simply complicated people. "Their society is tragic though, the fact that they even have a need for..ah war?" he smiled blinking a bit "I would like to meet your friend as well then if shes as beautiful as you say. I bet shes not nearly as sweet as you though"
Cheering happily as she finally led them into the beauteous little area she called her hide away, and indeed it was well hiden by the long tall trees that surrounded the forest. Dashing out into the center of it, marveling at the way the water rippled, the beautiful shower of sun.."So it is morning! I should have known" exploring the area curiously with his eyes as he climbed atop the large centerpiece that was the mossy rock, shivering slightly as the vibrant sun warmed his cold body. "Mmm..its truly a hideaway, see full of shiny things and wonder. I adore it" he grinned wrapping his arms around his knees as he sat there for a moment just taking it all in.
