Fanfiction is a unique form of literature: millions of average people put countless hours of effort into writing their own stories based on someone else's, posting them onto the Internet for all to see and enjoy each year. Unlike published work, fanfiction is usually completely free, and rarely follows the unwritten rules of the publishing world; it serves as the fulfillment of girlish fantasies, the rebirth of an amazing idea buried beneath the shortcomings of its original author, and a source of entertainment for the fans that so feverishly seek it out. Sometimes sex-based, novel-length, or religiously followed by devoted fans, fanfiction has changed the way we look at books, movies, and all forms of media - because now, if it exists, there is probably gay porn written about it on the Internet. SO DISCUSS ► favorite fanfiction and authors, or share your own ► websites you prefer to post/read on ► aspects, styles, and methods of fanfic writing ► fandom history and recent events ► anything related PLEASE NOTE THAT IT IS AGAINST GAIA'S TERMS OF SERVICE TO POST LINKS TO ANYTHING PORNOGRAPHIC OR TO CONTENT THAT IS BEYOND PG-13 IN NATURE!
WHEN POSTING LINKS, PLEASE BE CERTAIN YOU'RE NOT LINKING ANYTHING THAT IS TOS-BREAKING OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED!

I love Sushi's "Civil War" series. It's an AU Snape/Harry fanfiction that begins in Harry's 7th year I believe, and though she only meant for it to be a oneshot PWP it evolved into several novels, with a great twist on how Harry should have had to deal with the Voldemort-defeating plot.
I also like Ron/Draco fanfiction by Mamalaz, mostly for nostalgic reasons.

An abundance of slash. XD (Author)jbern: His stuff is just awesome. (Story)- The Porcelain Doll, by pazu7 (Story)- The Airwaves War by JJ Rust (Story)- The Denarian Renegade by Shezza88 (Story)- Bungle in the Jungle: A Harry Potter Adventure by jbern <--- AWESOME (Story)- A Stranger in an Unholy Land by serpant-sorcerer (Story)- Twelve Dark Moons by Sophiax (Story)- A Song in Time of Revolution by Lightning on the Wave <--HP/DM, but it's got to be good because I faved it and I'm not a HP/DM fan. xD (Story)Amulet of Time by Luna the Moonmonster It's been a very long time since I've ready any of these...... *GLEEFULLY GOES THROUGH THEM AND READS AGAIN* EDIT: This one is good and funny, I think. I'm not a major fan of Drarry, myself, but there's a fanfiction on ff.net that I fell in love with despite it being Draco/Harry and one of those 'they get married through a spell and HAVE to stay next to each other all day' plots, because it was decently written and it never slowed down like many lengthy fics end up doing.
I need to find it again.

I have been spending a lot of time searching for Ron/Draco fanfiction of a PG-13 nature. It is not an easy task due to my standards. @__@;;
Strategy was pretty good though. heart "...and Malfoy declared to the room that they were leaving. For its part, the room did not seem to care much, and they left unhindered." xd

One day, Harry was making learnings from his Schoolbook.
"Many learnings from Book School!" say Harry, turn the page.
rofl Total troll. The about section is too perfectly crafted for hilarity to not be a troll. Also, epic:
"YOU SHALL NOT MAKE A STEALING FROM THE INTERNET!" yell police, and they make a shooting at the nerds.
"You shall no shoot us!" they make a shouting, and they hide behind the internet.
The police bullets shot the internet!
"BUT THIS WAS THE LAST INTERNETS WE HAD!!!!!!!!!!" scream police, and the internet exploded and no more internets.

This is an awesome Harry/Voldemort story. But it's not slash. :3 It's... it's just awesome.
Voldemort's taken over in this one, and Harry had his parents until he was eight, and it's close to canon but soooo awesome. <3
READ IT.
The Voldemort reminds me of Mike's. biggrin

:3 Hahaha, s'okay.
The part that reminds me a bit of your Voldy is a loooot in the later chapters, like chap 30 and over. xD
But Voldy's just a crazy killer-ish guy until then. :3 S'cute though cuz I'm like:
AHAHAH. WHEN HARRY GROW SUP IN THAT FIC, VOLDY WILL HAVE MORE OF A SOUL, AND THEN HARRY WILL HAVE GODFREY WITH SOME CHICK AND THEN GODFREY WILL GROW UP AND THEN THERE IS VOLDEMORT/GODFREY
*Evil cackle*
I do that everywhere. :3

I am having such a hard time writing for Gilderoy today. I had a plot in mind for the Community Challenge, but Gilly has been quite firm in refusing to let his characterization take shape in my head; I am considering putting his stubborn a** in a box in my closet and ignoring him for an hour -- that seems to work for most of my underage characters...

See, the thing with Gilderoyua s I see it is- he's like, a five year old, if you gauge him by the 'share meter' and the 'tantrum' meter, he'd probably score around kindergarten age.
So he needs to go in a box and be treated like a little kid. xD
HAHAHA! Do it. :3

Anyone else notice that.. slashers won the Internet war?
Think back about, oh, seven years ago. We had to tag everything "slash; haters beware!" or "boy/boy - don't like, don't read!" even in slash communities. Slash stories were usually flamed anyway, reviews spewing hate and disgust sending slashers into furious rants defending the writer and the slash community as a whole.
And the occasional, not-so-savvy author still tags their story with the "don't like, don't read" warning (and anime authors will probably always do so, it seems), but overall it seems slash won the Internet war over the right to post buttsex stories.
I think it changed the Internet in a big way.

Omfg. I can't link this because it's rated about PG-13... but on Fanfiction.net there's a story that made me laugh my a** off so badly. XD
It's by an author called 'nonjon' and the story title begins with 'Two heads'
Yeah. I don't know how to spread the awesome hilarity of this story besides that. O_o
It's mostly potty/dirty humor, nothing graphic. XD
EDIT: THIS IS THE SINGLE, FUNNIEST FANFICTION I HAVE EVER READ IN MY LIFE. OMFG. READ THIS NOW.

I'm picking through Beren's Black Magic by Moonlight - a lengthy Harry Potter and Anita Blake crossover. It contains 35 chapters with secondary versions of chapters containing adult content.
The writing style is decent as far as grammar and description go, though she tends to repeat phrases worse than even I do, and the characterizations are a bit stretched. Overall I'm withholding judgment until I really dig in. The crossover concept has me intrigued at first glance.
