Quidel walked back to where the rest of his family had taken to sleeping, ears folded back and head sunken down. In his mouth, there was a tiny skull - possibly that of a large bird. During the time when he was not being a studious little apprentice, he was looking to rebuild his collection.
He had found his mind wondering once, to a time when he was to become a strong warrior, and he would be bringing home the skulls of his slaughtered opponent,..probably still gore filled, and in need of being cleaned. The thought had brought a rather sadistic grin to his face.

Till then, this would have to do. The way he saw it, finding the abandoned bones was good for honing his vision. Bone and sand blended pretty easily, and sometimes you could hardly tell them from rocks. Of course, it was much harder to explain why he played with them like he did. One would think with as many siblings as he had, he could simply enough find one of them to play with,... Oh well. Sooner or later his toys would turn in to something a little more. I liken it to chess, and there he would be, stratagising. Only time would tell.

Truth be told, he probably should have been more worried about adjusting to the current situation, rather than his future. On some level Quidel was unaware of, his toys were a coping mechanism - something familiar in an unfamiliar place. Something he could control. But of course, the simplest explaination of things are always the last one comes to. Either way, it was just his little Quirk. Something he ways almost synonimous with. And it was certainly nothing that incompacitated him, and made him unable to function normally.
That thought made him scoff a little, and smirk. Poooooor, poor Kehai.

Quidel stopped his trek, and dropped the skull by his feet, and wet his lips, as his mouth had gone dry. He took that moment to look around with emerald eyes taking in the surroundings. There were so many unfamiliar scents here, though he didn't allow it to unnerve him. He found it did, however, give him a bit of a headache. He did good enough to memorize who his siblings were. Now he had a whole new pride to get to know. Sigh.

When it came to toys, Aodhan was the queen of toybreaking, she had gotten into many fights with her brother over such stupid things as snakes (Peh, her piece of that darn reptile had been better, too), but also having gotten in trouble with mom over her and Baal's STUPID duking-it-out too.

If he hadn't of thrown the stupid thing at her, she might have not cared about the dumb thing, really.

But noooo. He'd made a point of picking a fight with her over everything that had cropped up since then! Which had consisted of 'her' toys, 'his' toys, who got to get water first, his stupid necklace, and all of his little 'minions' he was attempting to make. Aodhan's conclusion from all of this?

She'd simply assumed that boys were very very stupid and just found herself organizing her time so that she could hopefully go out and play without her just-as-redless brother following along after her in the name of vengeance. Because it was the most pointless thing ever to try and dodge him behind sand and rocks.

Especially when she was just going to go out and find some new toy or something similar to play with.

At least presuming that Auntie Lake or Commander-mom wasn't looming to leer her back into the den.

First stop? Water, hopefully.

Quidel's eyes landed upon the near-by source of water - a small trickling river - and Quidel emmidiately picked up his little bird skull, and padded on over. He was still getting to know the terrain, but he was quite thankful for the small river...at that moment, at least.
Whoever else might have been near, he didn't seem to pay any mind to, as he again dropped his toy, and took a drink. There was a time ago when he would go for a while without remembering to drink,..without paying any mind to his parched throat. After the first time of almost dehydrating, he had learned to pay more attention to the demands of his body.

Done quenching his thirst, he sat back for a moment, and gazed at his reflection, against the sky. Same sky as back at home, he noted. Same sand...water tastes the same, too. So then why did everything seem so different? Bah! There was a reason guys didn't think about that kind of thing -- it was too confusing.

Same sky was same sky, as it was the only sky she had ever seen. Certainly the farthest Aodhan had ever gotten from home had still been covered in sand and probably had only seemed like a rock's-toss away from the den to one of the white lionesses who looked after her and her siblings, and in her mind all that existed was that sand.

Sand, snakes, cacti, and scorpions. Okay, some birds here and there also, but her 'aunt' always got to those and just sat there crunching down on them as though they were the most delicious thing in the world to her. And perhaps they were delicious. Aodhan's mouth wasn't big enough to fit a whole bird in yet, so she hadn't checked.

It wasn't too long of a walk, however, for the white cub to finally make her way to the closest little spot of water that she had been shown by her 'mothers', only to find an 'invader' at it, her fur bristling just a bit as she eyed the stranger, sitting her butt down in the sand and puffing her little chest out.

"Hey! What are you doing by my water!?" she demanded to the stranger, trying to think of if she'd seen this boy (Ew, gross.. boys) around before and if she had, if he was in league with her stupidface brother!

At the sound of the female cub's voice, Quidel's ears perked, and his head shot around so quick, you qould have thought someone had smacked him. Startled as he was, he did indeed show why he was called 'Mr.Hissy' by his siblings, as his fanges were bared, and a lound hissing sound came from him. Lastly, as undignified as it was, a splash was heard as he tried to get to his feet and turn to face the female, only to end up tumbling butt-first into the little stream.

Ugh, girls.
Quidel didn't know this one, he was sure. Even if he did, he would have bothered to show any more manner is his following remark;
"Your water? Wha'd ya do? Piss in it!?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 9:03 pm

His snarky and sarcastic inquiry about 'her' water in turn only earned him a.. face. Yes. Aodhan's face twisted into the most disgusted expression she could manage without dislocating her jaw or some other part of her face (if one could dislocate a face.. she would have to look into that one).

"Ewww! Why would I want to drink it then!?" she scoffed back, some part in the back of her head now wondering if stupidface Baal had been doing that while she wasn't looking. Just.. ewww! They lived in a giant litterbox! They didn't need to do that in their water!

Grooooosssss! But what else should she have expected from a gross boy?

"It's my water because I found it first!" she then went on to 'clarify' with about as much clarity as a barbarian smacking a woman over the head with a club and dragging her off as 'his'.

..
..
Lions didn't do that though, last she knew. Or so she'd hope, at least.

"Yeah!?" He snarked back,...still sitting in the water, not yet to regain his composure, or dignity, "Well, you move your a** you loose your......" He searched for the right word, but then mumbled a harsh 'damn!' under his breath. "You, YOU GET WHAT I MEAN!"

The look on his face was a mix between a glare, anger, frustration, and a pout. Finally, he dislodged his hind-end from the river, and briskly walked over to the smaler cub. "Who are youuu. little miss stingy, anyway?"
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 9:21 pm

Ah! AH! He so hadn't just said that! NUH UH! No way. Mr. Stupidface to the second power needed a good smacking for snarking back at her like that! YEAH. She'd show him!

Err, once she picked her jaw back up from that comeback that had just been blown in her face! NUH UH! She so wasn't going to let him win!

"Well this isn't a game of finders keepers." she replied, again puffing her little chest out before rising up to her own paws to leer do-.. UP at the bigger male lion (Damn her smallness, she needed to get a growth spurt, and quick!). Oooh, name demands already? Had she just made herself her first mortal enemy?

HER FIRST RIVAL?

Oh, she couldn't wait to go home and tell Commander-mom! But first she had to work on kicking his a**! Or at least getting something boast-worthy done!

"I should be the one asking yoooouuu, Mister Soggybottom!"

"Pft, fine then, shorty." He said, making a show of shrugging off the little indult, sure that would get to her. Now if only he could remember the same, later on...
"The name's Quidel." He put on a smug look, and circling her. It took effort to leave out his leniage, because he didn't suppose that it would mean anything to a mere cub

"Now," he began again, still wearing the smug look, "I ask again, bite-size, who are you?"

There was something about having an 'opponent' that wasn't your own sibling. Not only could one make a 'your mom' joke(which he would keep in mind later on) but it was just oh so fullfilling. He knew what his siblings were capable of, but the unknown was just so thrilling!
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 9:40 pm

Hey! HEY! Hsssssss! She'd spent a whole few good SECONDS thinking up that insult and he was just going to SHRUG IT OFF? NOT EVEN GET MAD? Nuh uh! No way in hell! That was so not cool!
Then again, she probably didn't even know that her obvious overreacting to his lack of reacting was going to give Mr. Soggybottom some closure on having gotten under her fur.

"Hn, what kind of a name is that?" she asked with a snort, shaking her head lightly and half-following his pacing around her with her head, as though she was paranoid that he was actually going to attack her. Actually, she was hoping he would so she would have an excuse to claw him up a bit!

"Mine's better than that, Swamp-butt. It's Aodhan. So there!" she finally answered, stomping one paw and nodding firmly as though such a thing would prevent him from being able to make a challenge on the 'betterness' of her name in comparison to his.

"HA! And you thought my name was wierd!? That sounds more like a boy's name if you ask me!"

Oh! And she actually stomped her foot! Haha!

He lowered his head so he was eye level with her, and gave a smug grin; "Sure your not a guy?" He then would answer his own question, steping back a bit, "Nah, your not a guy. Your too craaaaazy for that. Crazy girls." He even made a little circling motion with a paw beside his head.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 9:50 pm

"Boy or girl doesn't matter, strength does." Aodhan answered, even if she had paused for a moment at having her name pointed out to her as masculine sounding. (It actually was a little boy's name too, but she was so proud of it that she never noticed!)

However, on eye-level, she was more than happy to leer back at the red and...
..
..red... lion. HMPH! She was too good for him and all of his red! She'd show him! A- "HEY!" she suddenly blurted, realizing what the paw-gesture had meant to imply, frowning her biggest cub frown she could possibly manage in protest.

"I am not crazy!" she said in the most... simple of denial she was capable of, kneading her claws into the sand before making the effort to pounce on the larger cub (Juvenile, whatever. Technicalities!) in an attempt to start clawing him.

Or biting him. Or just defending her honor in general!

Quidel was too buisy laughing at her to notice her getting ready to pounce him, but as he watched her sail through the air at him, it clicked.
He shifted his weight to his hind legs, and he lifted his other two int the air to catch her. However, he wasn't as balanced as he had thought, and he ended up falling backwards.

And that was just embarrasing.

So, of course, retaliation was eminent, as he two attempted to claw and bite at the other cub....though in the back of his mind he would remember not to cause any permanent damage.
PostPosted: Sat Mar 21, 2009 10:07 pm

Ha! She was on to-dfasjl;dfjksjdfl;kfj;l!!!! Ocrap! He had claws too! SHE'D FORGOTTEN ABOUT THOSE! Though she too was actually pretty gentle for a ticked off cub, mostly just putting her weight on him and swatting at him with partial-claws.

Nothing that could hook into his fur and cause any serious or noticeable scarring. Just enough for some scratches that would heal up in a day or so. Yeah, not exactly the terrifying merciless warrior yet, was she?

Though she did attempt to grab down onto one of his paws with her teeth to chew on it and to make sure she wouldn't be getting any serious scratches of her own, as it was.

And again, it wasn't as though she was trying to EAT his paw. Ohm nom nom. Just... keep it from scratching her face.

"Llshuuu!"

..
....
Sorry, Aodhan dearie, he probably doesn't speak 'muffle'.

Quidel could care less about her muffled words. He was actually rather amused with flailing the paw that she was 'eating' around every-which way he could.

Then a thought ran through his head.

"Y'know, I wouldn't go biting people's paws without knowing what they might have stepped in,..." And there were many 'landmines' one could step in. unknwingly.
Sure, cats burried their crap. Well,...not deep ENOUGH sometimes.
