 Warm sunlight flickered into the sleeping wolftaur's hiding place in the bushes. No matter how much he turned away now, the sun was right there staring at him from in between the leaves. Riker sighed and finally opened his eyes while yawning from his late morning nap.
Just as he had hoped, the rest of his pack was off on their own. Even the twins were gone, which he didn't know whether to be thankful or weary of that knowledge.
After strapping his wires into place around his wrists and after checking his hunting bag, Riker was off bounding through the forest and towards his favorite spot: the stream where the honeysuckle flourished.

 Aditya strolled through the forest humming to herself swinging a bag filled with roots for her lunch. It pained her that she wasn't able to hunt as well as the other wolftaurs. She was forced to live a vegetarian lifestyle, unless if she was offered meat. But that opportunity was extremely rare. She sighed, opening her bag to wash the roots in the stream. Maybe after she was done she would taste some more of the honeysuckles she had grown to like to much...

Riker's ears twitched as he heard someone else approach the stream. From his point behind the bush, the wolftaur couldn't really see anything but he could still smell. And this warm smell tinted with honeysuckles was definitely recognizable by now. Though she didn't' carry the familiar smell like his pack did, Riker could automatically tell it was Adi.
Tail wagging, Riker burst from the bushes with a delighted yelp. "Adi! Hey!" He called with a wide smile as he made his way to her, ignoring the leaves and honeysuckle petals that clung to his fur.

Aditya turned around, recognizing the voice. "Riker!" she exclaimed throwing the root into the stream. "Are you here for honeysuckles?" her tail swished from side to side rushing to him.

"Actually..." Riker laughed at his own confusion. "I came here for them, but on the way I kinda was hoping you'd be here as well." Holds up his hunting bag, "I was wondering if you wanted to come hunting!" The wolftaur grinned widely as he gestured around the area, "I've got plenty of time, and we can go on a mini-hunting trip! Do you want to? It can be fun and I can help you with things!"
Riker paused and chuckled nervously, "I thought I might be able to teach you a thing or two today about hunting. That's what I meant." His ears pricked waiting for her answer while he stood there while feeling like a hyper pup on his first hunt.

"Really? You were hoping to meet me?" Aditya asked bashfully. She tilted her head to the side processing his offer, "Hunting? Hunting?! I would love to go hunting with you!" she clapped her hands excitedly. Aditya walked back to the stream's edge picking her bag of halfwashed roots. "And we could probably use these roots with the meat we catch!"
She put her hand on his arm, "Thanks for offering to teach me. I really appreciate it." Aditya smiled up at him.

"Yes, of course!" Replied Riker happily as he moved. Excitement tingled his spine and the wolftaur couldn't help but to pace with energy. His tail wagged before he laughed, "You're welcome."
"But I haven't taught you anything yet, Adi." Riker noted mischievously as he tugged at the hand she had placed on his arm. "We better get a move on to find a good starting place!" Seeing her smile already filled him with joy at his decision, for Riker loved company and to be able to teach Adi something that she might enjoy really made him happy.

Aditya followed him, estatic. "Where would be the best place to hunt?" this was one of the things that puzzled Aditya. She knew places with water would attract many animals, but she would scare them off anyway. "What're we going to be catching? When we catch it, I can cook it for you! I just like to cook!" she giggled. "Maybe then I can teach you something about cooking!"

Riker laughed, "Slow down on me now!" He grinned at Aditya and brushed a stray strand of her hair behind her ear, "What do you want to hunt?" He asked softly as he gazed around, "Most of everything you do for a hunt depends on your chosen prey."
Though he did get distracted by the thought of Aditya cooking. 'She must be a good cook.' He mused happily as he continued to survey the area. Rabbits seemed to be around here...but squirrels or maybe a small deer would be possible prey as well.

"Whatever I want to hunt..." she tapped her chin thoughtfully. "Maybe...deer? I never got to eat venison much..."Aditya felt her face redden slightly when Riker pushed her hair back, distracting her from her thoughts of what to make with deer. "What do you want with venison?"

"Deer is possible, but we'll have to get some practice in first." Replied Riker thoughtfully as he looked at Aditya. "Well, besides a normal meal...much of what is left is good for jerky. Which itself is really handy on long trips and for keeping up to good amounts of time. Plus, the hide is useful."

"Where do we practice?" she looked around the forest curiously.
"I've never thought of making jerky before...I'll have to try that!" Aditya said, "What parts would the jerky be though? The muscles?" she tilted her head to the side, thinking of what area the jerky would come from.

Riker sniffed the air thoughtfully and glanced over to a small grove of trees, "That looks like a good place." He mused out loud before looking back to Adi. "Yup! Usually you start with strips of meat from the shoulder and go on from there." Riker grinned before he nodded to the grove, "Let's get started."

Aditya clapped her hands, both excited and pleased with herself. She was going to learn to hunt! Properly at least. The most successful hunt Aditya went through was to crawl across the dirt with sticks in her hair just to catch a small hare. "What would be the first tip to hunting?" she asked following Riker. "And should I dull my fur out?" the yellow wolftaur pointed to her body. "It's much too bright right?"

Riker glanced back to Aditya and nodded, "Yeah, but there's some mud up here." His steps slowed as he placed a front paw carefully into a mess of mud. With a wink and a grin, Riker slid into the mess and rolled around while patting mud onto his white fur.
Getting up, Riker looked around thoughtfully. "The first tip. Hmm...I guess is to learn your prey's movements and to become its shadow while hunting." He finally answered, now that he was covered from head to paw in dripping mud along with blades of grass and some twigs.
