Every time she even closed her eyes she saw the little queen look at her. In her heart she could almost still hear the sweet sound of the little gold calling out 'mine'. The chance for a bond was almost tangible; however it was out of her grasp forever. One thing she might not lose out on would be at least getting to meet her and get to know her through her rider.

The rider was one she was not angry with or jealous of, while she was a little envious she hadn't Impressed the Queen, she liked Annie and would not begrudge her one bit.

Shifting down the last steps and around the corner, she headed outside. Among all the dragons and people, she tried to find the Queen and Annie. Looking here and there, she tried to follow where the talk of the new queen got its loudest, "Annelie?" Calling might be more effective, if the woman could hear her voice out of everything else happening about or was there to hear.

For his part, Keek knew his Raena really wanted to find Annelie, who ever that was. With what little he understood, he zoomed around calling for something gold and someone like his Raena.

The trio, as this time Gnattie the Green flit had not been locked in a room, were situated off and away from any other little crowds that were around the edges of the lake in the sun. The little Queen romped playfully, and rather clumsily still, about the shallows, kicking up water and splashing forcefully down on ripples and submerged stones.

Anne watched from but a few feet away, her arms crossed and the front of her near soaked. She laughed at her bonded's antics, and occasionally shook her head when the little Queen would pause and look up at her. Gnattie was perched on Anne's shoulder, and had seemed to be glued there since the night after the Impression.

The little flit glared at the large gold, but for now behaved herself and didn't hiss of divebomb the youngin'. ...Stupid big dragon, stealing her Anne! Gnattie's attention was soon diverted away from the splashing and the firelizard perked up her head and looked behind Anne, who blinked and looked over her shoulder too.

She saw Raena, but failed to hear her name actually being called. She could feel Gnattie fidget on her shoulder, wanting to go OMGGUARDANNEAGAINSTTHEINTRUDER... but not wanting to leave her side either.

Anne had never been one for yelling, screaming yes, but yelling no, so she waved her arm and hand over her head in a slight frenzy to get Raena's attention. ...It also got Yansanth's attention, and the little gold trundled out of the water and stood at her Person's side.

Annelieee, who's that? Friend?

Her name's Raena. Yes dear, she's a friend.

Yansanth nodded her wet head ... then asked Wait.. what's her name?

Raena.

RIGHT.

The waving did catch her attention, with a bright smile she hurried over. Even with the wave, the little gold was impossible to miss.

A quick turn here and there, one sour step to ruin the illusion of grace, and she was within feet of the gold and Annie. Swallowing, she couldn't help but stare at the Queen, those eyes of hers and the missing would not be something she could soon forget.

Drawing her lips in a moment to press on them with her teeth, she turned to Annie and smiled brightly, "Annelie! I am so happy for you; your bonded is simply the most stunning dragon to ever hatch!" This was more than just flattery to dragons she always showed, for as long as she lived this Gold would be the best, the one that got away.

"I really hope you don't mind me coming by, you never came to the Healers nook so I am coming to you. I'd also like to get to know your Gold, if you don't mind." It wasn't the next best thing; it was the right thing, to be happy for a friend who in one day got swooped to the lower caverns all the way up to a Gold rider!

Yansanth watched as the woman named Raena came closer, her initial interest turning more into...confusion? for some reason. The woman looked familiar, but Yan failed to remember that she had met her at the feast after Impressing with Hers.

Gnattie started to chitter on Anne's shoulder, little growls escaping every now and then. Yansanth looked up at the cute little flitter in more confusion, wondering what on earth the creature was so apparently angered about. She glanced back to Raena, and suddenly 'eeped' when she noticed that she was being stared at by the woman.

She lowered her head and turned to stare back at her with one eye, then she began to turn and quickly trundle off back to frolic in the water and keep from the other's stare.

Anne had felt a nervousness in her stomach, and she lowered her hand to idly scratch at an itch that wasn't there. She gave a small smile at Raena, her eyes showing more sincerity then her lips did.

"Thank you," she replied, and looked over her shoulder at the retreating Yansanth. Flattery couldn't keep a strange feeling entering her head about Raena's request of getting to know the little Queen better, but Anne didn't make a verbal comment on it.

"No, it's OK -- I'm sorry that I never came to the Healers." She paused to lay a hand over the still chattering Gnattie, who ducked back her head and gave Anne an indignant glare. "Don't mind Gnattie... she's.... protective."

Watching the little gold go and play in the water was adorable. Young dragons just seemed so playful, hard to believe their adult forms were mostly sunners and content to be still.

Speaking of adults being still, the little green on Anne's shoulders looked like it was only in place to be protective. It seemed strange she had one, considering the first time she had met the young woman she had two unfamiliar flits fighting over her. "Its a good thing Keek and Lytah are not out here, poor Gnattie would be fighting a threefold battle. I was a little worried the two of them would make you never want to be around a firelizard again." The little green was a fierce little thing, made her miss Keek but she dared not call for the Blue incase he got confused again.

The life of a Queen rider, as she imagined it was likely very demanding. "Its alright, I know you have a lot to do now and so much more responsibility." It would be her seeking Anne out this time if she wanted to keep a sort of friendship up. Having them come to her would be awful, seeing as it would likely mean Yansanth would be hurt.

Anne gave a nervous laugh that slid into sounding more... sarcastic? only a second later. "Yees... Heh, I didn't have much of choice with Gnattie. She and her situation were rather pushed onto me. In the end I broke and had no other choice in the matter, so... here she is." She laid her hand over the little flit's head once more to quite the chitters and growls.

Gnattie gave the same duck of the head and indignant look, but subdued her talking and curses and resided in just glaring at Raena instead.

At the comment on her having much more responsibility, Annelie simply nodded. She hadn't noticed too much of an increase in responsibility in general, but the things she did now were obviously much different compared to what she used to do... as in, peeling potatoes and making whatever.

"Should... we sit down?" Anne asked, some-what suddenly. She turned a little to indicate a large, warm boulder near the water's shore with her hand. "And you could get to know Yansanth more, if you want?"

Gnattie didn't bother her, it was really adorable, so long as she was on her shoulder, it was also harmless. Looks could not kill a very comforting fact. "Sounds like an interesting story, though I am glad you get the joys of a flit." She was serious; they were beautiful creatures, for all the good and the bad that came with them.

Almost lost, she looked at the boulder as well, the reason why she was there crashing back in a green wave, "Oh yeah. Sure, I don't want to intrude on your bonding time too much, first time on the sands so I am very curious about the dragons that hatch, especially your beautiful gold. Thanks for taking the time. "Curious, more like envious, Yansanth looked right at her, so close she could touch her, figuratively speaking. She lost her chance at forever, but there was still a chance to make friends with the little gold. Besides, Annelie had be close to a friend, would be if they had more time to hang out and talk, she was actually interested.

Yeah... the joys of a flit...

Annelie kept her mouth closed on that one and meandered over to the rock, sitting down somewhat close to its edge. "You're not intruding, really," she began, looking back at Raena and waiting for her to sit as well. "We kinda have a lot of bonding time... since Yansanth is with me every hour of every day."

"Yansanth... come say hello?"

The little queen let her front feet splash down on the shallow shore a couple more times before she raised her head and stared at Hers. But...the water, Mine...

Please? It isn't going anywhere...

Yansanth gave one last look down at the water around her feet and then trundled slowly over her Hers, her body swaying much like a puppy's. Her eyes swirled a steady green, but she still hesitantly extended her nose in Raena's direction.

Who's she again? Yansanth asked.. again.

"This is Raena....Her name hasn't changed in the last twenty minutes..."

Oh. ...Can names do that? The little dragonet had turned her head to look back and up at Annelie.

Just say 'Hi.'

But can they?

"Yansanth."

The little queen gave a small snort and returned her attention back to the other woman... whatever her name was... and she gave a small smile and a croon.

Raena followed after, sitting down nearby but giving as much space as the limited seating allowed. Smiling a little, she wondered what it was like to spend every moment of everyday with a creature that could talk and understand you. From what she understood, dragons and their riders don't fight, it must but tempered bliss.

Curious, seemed to be a perpetual problem with her around dragons she struggled to understand, "How much has changed since you bonded with Yansanth?" What sort of training do dragon riders get? The ones regular riders got she knew of, mostly, because when there was a problem and healers had to be called in, everyone pretty much knew about it and how it happened. Queen riders, now those were different animals so to speak.

Observing the little Queen, she appeared reluctant to leave the water, it was adorable. Did any dragon hate the water? It was an interesting random question because she had never seen one seem to dislike the water at all.

Letting the thought tangent go as if releasing a string, the Queen's movement yanked the thoughts away as she came closer. With her nose coming to her direction, Raena went off of what she knew about unknown animals, she put her hand out flat with the palm up. Rushing the dragon would surely scare her, so the only solution was to let her come to her.

Dark eyes raised, she could tell there was a conversation going on, and the way they looked at each other and what comment Annelie did make. It felt strange to know something was being said but never have an idea of what it was. Sitting where she was, she felt lonely and left out, it was no one’s fault but it was something that was keen around dragons and their riders.

Softly she spoke to the little dragon, "Hello, Yansanth, it is nice to meet you." It seemed obvious she was comeing over to say hello, likely on her rider's urging.

Yansanth stared, then sniffed, at Raena's open palm in slight confusion for a minute, tilting her head this way and that. She lowered her head and looked under Raena's hand, but she came back up with the same puzzled look. Why was the woman's hand out if there was no food being offered? That was an odd offer, really, the little dragon thought.

The question bobbed around in her head for another few seconds before Raena's greeting stole her small amount of attention. She withdrew her head from inspecting the hand and gave another smile on her gold features before giving a bob of her head.

Annelie, Annelie tell her I say Hello, please! Yansanth quipped happily, looking back to Hers for a second before bringing her smiling attention back to Raena.

Annelie obliged. "She says 'Hello' to you too, Raena."

Yansanth nodded again, this time more fiercely. She then crooned and lowered herself to the ground, looking a little longingly back out at the water. Can I go back to the water now, Mine?

Not quite yet... Annelie replied. Shifting in her seated position, she finally turned her attention to answering Raena's earlier question.

"Ok... now to your question. ... Everything has changed, I guess, and in every possible sense. I went from being a servant of the lowest rank to being someone in some sort of higher power, so there's that aspect. And then I found a part of me in Yansanth that I didn't even know had been missing. It's all confusing... but fulfilled, I guess. If that makes sense...."
