Merlile walked along the small stream as the sun light was blocked momentarily by a cloud blown across by the light breeze. The grass swayed, and he felt the need to stretch. The edge of the forest waved in the strong winds at the other end of the valley. He whinnied and leaned down to take a drink.

She was bored. Her fancy little life had become quite the drag. She had not seen hide nor hair of anyone that was interesting enough to carry a conversation with.
She grumbled a bit, her forelock falling into her eyes. She blew it away, and it landed behind her ear once more.
The stallion caught her eye with a bit of a jolt.
He was a handsome fellow, but Lucy was never one to think any male was really bad looking.
She smiled, her brown eyes gleaming.
"Why hello!"

Merlile started slightly, turning quickly to look at his unexpected visitor. She was a good looking mare, and he nodded his head towards her.
"Hello." He trotted in place a bit, embarrassed at how he had been startled by a mare.
"I wasn't really expecting anyone else to be around here." His eyes traveled the rest of the valley, looking for any hints of another potential fright.

"The key, my friend, is to act as if you expect herds to be around you, and you still be okay with it."
She said with a grin.
She trotted forward, sashaying her tail this way and that.
She was pretty, she'd always been told so.. And her way with the stallions, well she never was rejected.. Ever.
But her chocolate eyes beamed.
He was a handsome devil, she was going to definately try her flirting skills. It had been so long!
"My name is Luciana, stranger."
She said with a wink.

"Maybe when I get used to having a herd around me then I can try your tip." He said, smiling, his confidence slowly returning.
"My name is Merlile, but you can call me Merl." He replied, chuckling inwardly at her wink. He was quickly warming up to this mare, but he was going to have to be careful. Smiling slyly he shook his mane. "I was thinking of going for a run to the woods... would you like to join me, Luciana?"

Oh a run through the woods? The mares smile grew slightly and she nodded, flicking her tail in his face with a seductive gaze.
"I love to run.. It gives the chance for my mane to blow out behind me like a giant blanket of gorgeous."
She said with a smile.
"Well you have quite the amazing name my friend."
She said, nudging him gently.

He chuckled and shook his head again, wiggling his nose. Her tail tickled. "I take good care of it, though it's not has lustrous as yours." He nodded and trotted around her.
"I enjoy running as well. It feels... good."

She grinned, her inner mind working like clockwork.
"Have you lived here long? Do you know the area?" She asked. She had been born and raised here, though she knew she was a bit far away from her herd.
She grinned a bit. So he wasnt apart of a herd. Which made him a rouge. Oh if he was a bad boy it would be too perfect.
Her perfect eyes fell to his collar and she smiled.
"Yes running feels good, but before we go.. what is that?"
She asked..

"No, I got here not to long ago. Just been... exploring." He shifted slightly, wondering if he had once again treaded on another private herd's land.
His smile faltered a bit but he answered her question.
"I was raised in a village... The old man that had taken care of me gave it to me when I was younger..." He shook his head again, snorting. "He never told me what it's called, though."
"Do you live here?"

She smiled nudging the collar a bit.
"Well I like it, it gives ya character."
She said with a nod.
Did she live here? Well..no not technically.. She lived a few miles from here, but the mare covered alot of land in her travels during the day.
"You could say that. I know it like the back of my hoof."
She said, holding it up as if to emphasize.

He laughed. "Thank you." He smiled and looked around the valley again.
"Good, then you can show me around. Truth be told I would probably get myself lost in those woods. I rarely see the same place twice anymore."
