A back paw shot up, scratching at a particularly scaly ear and having no effect. The itchiness continued, crawling under his skin and planting itself right under the stone plate protecting the right side of his face. Whining a bit, he rubbed against the side of a tree. But alas, it seemed even the trunk's harsh bark did no good against the stone. Here a there little pebbles chiped off and fell to the ground at his paws. And yet, no matter how many bits and pieces fell, he hardly ever seemed in short supply. While certain parts of the rock seemed to cling to his fur with a vengence, the rest had somehow fused with his skin. At least those areas didn't itch as much anymore.
Pulling back from the tree, Batujiwe plopped down on his bum with a rather woeful sigh. This head-itch had been plaguing him for days already, playing right under the stone where he couldn't reach it. Lowering his head, he frowned. This was... This was his fault, wasn't it. He knew. He was lazy, not stupid. But... why? It's not like he was the worst of the tribe, was he? No way... Ears slid back as he shook his head madly. He didn't understand! He still didn't understand what had happened completely. This... He pouted deeply. This sucked.

While an recent interesting event involving her two new siblings had served to lift her boredom a little, the fact remained that it was just a little trivial matter she had been delighted with at the time. At least there were no more disappointments in the family, thank goodness. She doubted that she would have resisted the urge to just kill them off if they had turned out like Zweix.
Of course, the very thought of her sister displeased her, and she was soon back into her bored mood, very much prone to attacking anyone stupid that came into her path. Her weapon strapped to her back, Verix had left the house to hunt, a huge scowl upon her face.
Her ears perked up at a whine and she narrowed her eyes, the gold orbs darting about to find where it came from. It wasn't difficult to catch sight of the other kitsu; he was rather prominent with his gold fur and the strange rock formations that seemed to be growing on him. Verix was very much unfazed by this; she had seen many other stranger things happen in her family. A smirk curved upon her face as she darted forward, positioning himself in front of him. "Well, well, someone seems awfully down." She commented, giving him a fanged grin.

The other's appearance had been so sudden, he had nearly no time to act surprised. It was true that he knew other Kitsusagi existed outside of his secluded tribe now. Yet, for the few he had seen, none had ever jumped right out in front of him so boldly. In fact, he couldn't recall that ever happening back home, either. Not that he could claim such a thing to be abnormal. Most others back home had left him alone completely after dubbing him the lazy good-for-nothing. Well, he pretty much had been.
Ears flattened against his skull as he eyed her now, silent for a time. He had heard no concern in her voice, despite her statement. Not to mention the rather unsympathetic expression she wore. If nothing else, Batujiwe felt... put off by this one. Perhaps he was just used to the seemingly constant good nature of the folks back home. "How nice of you to notice," he finally bit in return, his own sarcasm jumping to his defense and hiding the unease he felt. Of course, as if to amplify his own discomfort, the itch screeched back to life again, causing his right ear to quiver heavily. It took quite a bit of will power to keep his ear from flicking madly. At his side, a back paw ached to rise up in habit and attempt to quell the itch. "Hey... Would you quit looking at me like that?" he muttered between determination-clenched teeth. He didn't like it... Something about her smiling was very unnerving.

Well, well, well. Sometimes she pitied those who were boggled down by the weight of their emotions. Such trivial bastardy things that didn't seem to serve any purpose except to get into the way. Admittedly, Verix did suffer from bouts of emotions that randomly struck her; but it only made her hate them more. Such silly little things really. She was glad she didn't have them all the time.
The kitsusagi shrugged, her grin spreading wider. "And why shouldn't I?" She questioned. Oh, if only Derix were here.
