If U've done this and have some other non-botting ideas please post.
#1 always get your dailies and overseers (been giving Big items some lately)
#2 old announcements; go to Forum Announcements and do all the trailers and previews over and over until u get a general error or it stops giving u stuff there is 1300 golds hidden in the announcements and many of the free items can be collected 3 times. they are dirt cheep now but movie and game trailers don't stay around forever and there free items. U may not want to on the verizon theater because you can only collect 10 items from it and it doesn't matter which items they are.
#3 Don't skip the announcements on the special events like skittles world. U can do the wheel there once a day and of the prizes u could win there is 500g also of the items u can sale back to the shops the gray tie gets good money.
#4 Don't just dump items on the market for a gold. Things like floor tiles will get u 25g in the shops.
#5 Cruise the market for cheepo deals. Some do sale tiles and stuff cheeper than the shops will buy it back for. If they want 5 and it costs 50 in the shop then if u buy it for the 5 the shop will pay you 50% list price so 25 gold, a profit of 20 gold. it takes time to do this but it is time a new player would be advised to spend building up some money for stuff they want.
#6 Don't snap up stuff just because it the cheapest on the market. It may be cheaper in the store. Some make money off new players who have never used the market. always look at the store price before you buy.
#7 post but don't post nonsense. You get gold for posting but could get banned for posting things that have nothing in them as Gaia considers that something like boting. also do polls and profile commits.

This one kind of goes along with number 4. When you are changing outfits, save for what you want, buy it all at once, and then go sell everything your avatar was wearing that you don't think you'll use anymore. Keep basic things, but if it doesn't match much else, sell it.
Another one: Go fishing, and sell whatever you catch. Aquarium Goldfish got me 700g on the marketplace.

Hay don't laugh at this I did it when Heil told me of the list Miscreant74 was putting together and at the time I only had 800 gold. It took a week and I'm not on very long some days but I have 16k now. I did pick up a good item cheep and traded it for a fame star which failed but it gave me a 10K. You have to keep an eye out for things ppl are looking for in chats. Even with out that I made 5200 gold in one week.

PS I hate starting a new game Broke or poor not that you don't get a good deal on Gaia but I've been on other sites where you couldn't even get in to all the shops to equip yourself until 10+ Quests were completed and you didn't get a chance at free items until you could.

Miscreant I'm glad you did listen to me. (haha)
Another suggestion is to check the marketplace on a regular basis if there is an item that you really want. Sometimes you luck up & get the item very cheap. I will use my lowered horns as an example, I found them on the market about a week ago for 50 gold & today the lowest price is @3000 gold. I could sell them on the market right now & make a profit, but I won't because I like them.
I love the market & check it everyday. You can buy lots of items for 1-5 gold & sell them back to the store for usually 10-45 gold. The extra benefit is that when you sell an item back to the store you will sometimes get gold for surfing. It takes time, but it can be worth the time.
Make sure to add things to your wish list & when they are on the market you will be notified in your feeds on the mygaia page.

If you have time to invest you could always go to town.
The bugs, flowers & trash are now back in town.
In case you have never been, I will give a tutorial.
1.) It is best to start from your home. That way you avoid all the little beggars who are using town as a chat room. At the world tab scroll down to town then over to my home. This will take to Josie & from there just click on go to my home if the other window doesn't pop-up. Then you can just exit your home & it will take you just outside your door.
2.) Try to catch all the bugs that you see. Dragonflies are almost impossible if you have a slow connection. You can either save the bugs to make ink or sell them on the marketplace. Some bugs will bring better money then others. To make ink you need to have 50 bugs of the same color or 1 rare bug (example: 1 monarch butterfly = 1 white ink). You make ink at Durem Depot
If you get a rare bug I personally would make it into the ink & sell the ink. White ink has been bring @2200g.
3.) Pick flowers, you can take them to Barton Flowershoppe. You can make bouquets out of them. Not much of a resell value on the bouquets. I think you end up going in the hole on them. It cost 100-1000g to make each bouquet, usually you can pick one up on the market for between 2-100g. Better to just sell the flowers in multiples in the marketplace.
4.) Shake the trees, bushes & rocks. They will sometimes give you gold usually 1-9g.
5.) Pick up all the trash that you see. You can convert the paper into different hats at Gambinos Hat Rack. The best items to make there are paper cat bands. You need 100 pieces of zerox paper to make 1, but it usually sells well on the marketplace. Most of the rest of the paper items don't have a good selling price on the market, so I would suggest selling them 2-4 at a time for 1-3 gold. They usually sell better if you sell them in multiples.
6.) Other assorted trash & junk (boots & cans) in town, currently I don't know what you do with them so I will edit this after I find out.

Visit the Six Flags Profile, this is the last announcement that gives you money. One announcement that has changed recently & gaia has not announced it is the Henry Hatsworth game trailer. It no longer gives you the hat now it will give you 100g each time you watch it. I have a friend that just recently joined & I showed her what to do. In the first day she made 2700g just from the announcements & she did not go all the way through them yet. That is how I found out about Hatsworth, so I went to go get my gold from it. Did you know that you could answer the wonderwall question 2 times. It gives you 500g each time?

If Ur gona do this better hurry some of the stuff isn't paying out any more or has been removed. Street Fighter and Halo are gone and Haunting in Connecticut stopped paying. Henry Hatsworth is giving gold not the bowler.

Glad this could help. Gaia has removed some of the announcements so if U don't see some of those we have mentioned sorry but they add new ones on a monthly basses so just keep an eye open and new gold or item opportunities will appear.

mrgreen Rumors are true you can catch other fish in booty grab. I know for certain that you can at least catch a hermit cat. I just caught one, they are done the same way as the aquarium eggs were during Easter. A fish (in my case a turtle) spits it out & it looks like a piece of paper floating down.
