Intro
Dissociative identity disorder is a fairly common effect of severe trauma during early childhood, usually extreme, repetitive physical and/or emotional abuse.
Most of us have experienced mild dissociation, which is like daydreaming or getting lost in the moment while working on a project. However, dissociative identity disorder is a severe form of dissociation, a mental process, which produces a lack of connection in a person's thoughts, memories, feelings, actions, or sense of identity. Dissociative identity disorder is thought to stem from trauma experienced by the person with the disorder. The dissociative aspect is thought to be a coping mechanism -- the person literally dissociates himself from a situation or experience that's too violent, traumatic, or painful to assimilate with his conscious self.
Dissociative identity disorder is characterized by the presence of two or more distinct or split identities or personality states that continually have power over the person's behavior. With dissociative identity disorder, there's also an inability to recall key personal information that is too far-reaching to be explained as mere forgetfulness. With dissociative identity disorder, there are also highly distinct memory variations, which fluctuate with the person's split personality.
The "alters" or different identities have their own age, sex, or race. Each has his or her own postures, gestures, and distinct way of talking. Sometimes the alters are imaginary people; sometimes they are animals. As each personality reveals itself and control's the individuals' behavior and thoughts, it's called "switching." Switching can take seconds to minutes to days.

Story
There is a school especially for people with ‘dissociative identity disorder.’ Not all students at this school have multiple personalities, but most of them do. These students are gathered from around the United States to California, San Mateo, where teachers with special skills can teach them all they need to know about living in the world where people view then as nutcases.
Our characters will be going to this school, and those characters that do not have multiple personalities must have some other thing wrong with them that would get them looked upon as weirdos.

Accepted Profiles  Username: Fall out of the skyCharacter Name: Iris Elise AdamsAge: 14# of Personalities: Three Short Bio for Main Personality: Growing up on the streets, Iris learned how to survive on her own. She would wash her own clothes, bath in rivers, steal anything she could get her hands on. Until she was caught. Then she was arrested and brought to jail without a trial. She stayed there for three year, and when she was 12, she killed three other prisoners and the guards and escaped. She couldn't cope with what she did, and a stronger, fiercer Iris was born. The original Iris figured it out after she turned 13, and started to go crazy. Because of that, her third personality was born. The third one is a very kind, loving, and gentle Iris who would never dare to hurt anyone or steal.
After all of this, she managed to snuggle her way into an old lady's home, who brought her in and fed her. After The old lady died, Iris was left all of her possessions. She now lives alone in the old lady's house holding down a steady job while also going to school.Personality: As said in the Bio:
Personality 1: A thief. She knows how to pick any kind of lock and is very sneaky. If she wanted something that you had in your skinny jeans, she could get it out of your tight pockets, and you wouldn't even notice.
Personality 2: Straightforward and mean, you couldn't miss her walking down the street. She struts with confidence and spits on anyone who she doesn't like. She is a lot less sneaky, but if she wants something, she could probably blow up an entire town to get it.

Short Bio:Karissa was raised in a small town in Alabama. Her parents were on the verge of divorce, from the start of their marriage. Her mother left and then her father took his anger out on Karissa. He abused her in anyway he could for ten years. He would yell at her until she was in tears, he would ground her to where she had no life. Her life was not very great. During those ten years her personalities formed.
Personalities description: Personality 1- This personality is very childish. She gives people unconditional love, and she loves to have fun. Her voice has a more childish tone. If this personality does not get her way she usually throws a fit, like a child would. This personality is the happy part of Karissa, it believes it is very young, even though Karissa is 17.
Personality 2- This personality is a very paranoid personality. This personality has a hard time sitting still, she is worried that everyone is out to get her, and she speaks in rushed sentences. This personality holds the fear Karissa felt during her childhood.
Personality 3- This personality is a very angry one. It takes over anytime Karissa starts to feel upset. This personality was created as a protection for Karissa, it was the side of her that wanted to fight back against her father, but never could.
Personality 4- This personality is very mellow. She tends to not care about anything, and it seems that nothing phases her. When she is in this personality, Karissa complains about not being able to feel anything. This personality was formed to take the abuse for Karissa.
Personality 5- This personality was made of all the niceness Karissa has in her. This is a very sweet, and polite personality. This is the personality that is mostly dominant around friends, as long as they are not upsetting Karissa. ~*~  Username: xXBisexual FlanXxCharacter Name:Nausicaa Annabelle KosaAge:15# of Personalities:sevenShort Bio:Nausicaa grew up being expected to act like an adult. Her childhood was stolen from her, and she grew into a cold, depressing teenager. However, she was expected to act adult-like and mature when around adults. At school she acted like a nerd to keep her grades up, and she learned to fight, and developed a fighting personality. The child-like bit of her never disappeared, and still pops out sometimes. Babysitting and pet-sitting caused her to be compassionate at times, and there are days when there is an absence of a personality at all, and she becomes an empty shell, just walking and speaking when necessary.
When Nausicaa was seven, she was raped. She's blocked the painful memory out, and, though it stays out most of the time, every once in a while she sees the scars on her legs and it all comes back. Her father is very busy, and has little time for her, sine he's the C.E.O. of a huge company that makes trillions of dollars a week. And yet, her allowance was only five dollars for most of her life. Recently, though, her father upped her weekly allowance to thirty dollars, saying that it was time she learned how to save for her own things. Now she has to buy her own food and clothes, but she does it without complaint. She's just happy that she's expected to do the things she's being treated as.
Her mother, without her father knowing, would yell at Nausicaa if she got anything wrong when she was younger, causing Nausicaa to grow closer to her father than her mother. However, her father is hardly ever around, and so Nausicaa has to put up with her unemployed model of a mother who, apparently, believes in making her children do all the back-breaking work. Like an evil step-mother, except she's biological.Personality(ies) description(s):Personality one:A cold, angsty, emo, depressing, gothic, painful, heartbreaking, doleful, moody, cheerless, uninviting, funereal, gloomy, bleak, dreary, so-on-and-so-forth teen. This personality draws blood over the sink almost all the time it emerges. When she's like this, she listens to loud metal emo songs and writes depressing poems.
Personality two:Mature and ready to do what needs to be done, this personality is great for when guests are around. Good as a bridge partner or a responsible martini-dispencer(She knows when you've had enough, in other words), this personality is good for almost anything that comes her way. Sadly, it does not come up very often.
Personality three:A nerdy study-bug, this personality comes out in school and keeps Nausicaa's grades at a perfect 4.0. Never distracted by anything but the very important, this personality was developed to keep her grades up. However, sometimes when it comes out, it causes her to pull all-nighters on random days.
Personality four:Badass and here to kick yours, when she's like this, Nausicaa isn't afraid to flaunt her fighting skills. Usually, she gets like this when another girl is being bullied, since she can't stand guys harming girls. It also comes around when she is very angry or upset.
Personality five:Hyper and probably candy-high, this personality is innocent and always talking about random things. When she's like this, she gets a huge sweet-tooth, and often asks questions that don't make a whole lot of sense. She also asks for hugs, usually from guys, and then gets happy when they oblige.
Personality six:A motherlike personality that causes her to treat children and animals with care. It brings people naturally to her like cats to milk. It's been considered her cutest personality, although she herself admits that it's not cute, just nice.
Personality seven:A vacant personality. It makes it difficult for her to act at all.~*~  Username: daystar50Character Name:AlaricAge:17 # of Personalities:3Short Bio:Alaric is 5'10" with dark brown hair that is in need of a trim, using lawn shears instead of scissors. his eyes are normally brown with green around the edge of white, and gold around the center, when his personality changes so does his eye color, the green or gold expanding depending on the personality.Personality(ies) description(s):Alaric: a lone person that is quick to think but slow to act, not actively isolating himself, nor does he actively seek friends or fun, he would rather do what is needed and then sit and meditate, or go through the steps of tai chi, or sho ryn rue. He usually has a blank expression on his face, and hardly speaks. Keroth: When Alaric was younger he craved adventure, at least a part of him did, this is the part that was born of that craving, when Alaric would go to bed, Keroth would take over and wander the town, hiding as best he could from everyone and everything, he developed the ability to climb nearly anything, from a tree to an old brick wall. Keroth has also managed to learn how to enter any building through various means, whether it be trough a window on the 5th story, or sweet talking the doorman, though he prefers to keep to the shadows, he has developed a silver tongue over the years of his midnight exploits.Hiquel: There were times when people actually wanted to befriend Alaric, but he never actually accepted the invitations or advances, preferring to get lost in studying, whether it be books or martial arts he did not care. A part of Alaric wanted to socialize, and so Hiquel came to be, He is a kind person that is up for anything as long as it is with you, He loves to impress and will try his hardest, in spite of it being dangerous or stupid, well to a point. He will never harm anyone or let them be harmed, he has actually crossed into the abilitys of Alaric and Keroth, he can fight fairly well, but only holds and defense, and he can climb, though the hand holds need to be a bit bigger than Keroth can handle. He is a self taught cook as well, learning that people respond well to good food, he strove to be as good as possible, his dishes are off the wall crazy, but they are always good... if a bit strange.~*~  Username: Draconis VonTrapp Character Name:Kai Èmeraude Arceneaux Age:15 # of Personalities:3 Short Bio:Kai lived in a nice house with a dog named Bordeux, a loving, doting mother, and a proud father. Up until he was ten, his life was practically perfect; he made good grades, gardened with his mom, fished with his dad, and ran in the park with Bordeux. However, all this changed when his father died. His mother became cold and distant, and an aura of moroseness settled over their once happy family. This all changed when his mom met Jean. After a few short months, Jean became his new step-dad. He was all smiley and supportive on the outside, but something about him irked Kai. Jean’s true self was revealed when his mom went on a girl’s weekend with her friends.
He was a monster.
There had to be something mentally wrong with Jean. He called it ‘punishment,’ but it was really just cruelty — pure, stark perverseness. For things as small as spilling milk on the floor, Kai would be tied up and beaten mercilessly; liquids would be forced down his throat to make him vomit; things would be shoved into him that would make walking the next week difficult. It was too much for his psyche to handle, and it eventually split into two. His new identity was ‘Blayze.’ Blayze could handle the pain and torture; he’d even go as far as to make snappy remarks and egg his step-dad on. He was a glutton for punishment, rebellious and insubordinate.
More than once Blayze had gotten Kai into trouble with his step-dad, and the quarreling personalities formed a mediator: Serenite. He existed to bring peace between Kai and Blayze. He was sort of the puppet master of Kai’s mind, switching the personalities out when the need arose. Of course, Blayze and Kai didn’t know the other existed, so they didn’t know they were being manipulated, only that their appearances were much more convenient. Of course Kai’s mother didn’t believe a word of Jean’s evildoings; she was head over heels for the sicko, wearing permanent rose-colored glasses, but that was okay. Blayze was there to deal with the pain. It would be okay. Personality(ies) description(s):Kai: He was the main personality. He was the one who was in control of his body most often. Kai was sweet, serene, helpful and kind. Of course, when he was around his step-dad, he became fearful and skittish, but he was otherwise calm and collected.
Blayze: He was the epitome of ‘does not play nice with others.’ He talked big, acted like an a**, talked back, caused trouble, and was generally unpleasant to be around. He started fights, broke rules, and probably had a criminal record. Blayze only came out when Kai was under massive amounts of stress and anxiety, or when Jean was ‘at it again.’
Serenite: True to his name, Serenite brought the two personalities into balance. He knew them both well, and knew when to switch them out. He didn’t often take control of Kai’s body, but when he did, he was guru-like, full of wisdom and morals and platitudes. ~*~  Zane is on the right/ the left is how he views Rion Username: Shinobi LinkuCharacter Name:Zane Kaiton/Rion DomgaliAge:18 # of Personalities:2Short Bio:Zane grew up in an abusive home. he would often fall asleep at night to the sounds of his mother being beat. he was an only child and if he ever back talked or was out of line his mother or father one would always beat him. this lasted until he was 10 years old, he was a broken shell of who he should of been. it was on a summer night that his father's abuse went over board and he beat Zane's mother to death in front of his eyes before he declared that it was Zane's fault before he shot himself. leaving the ten year old Zane alone. after a day or so the cops found him and sent him away for evaluation. his life got tough and with no one to turn to he eventually heard a voice in the darkness, Rion's voice. it was the first time that rion took control and from there on their connection grew until they were each apart of each other. now and days they get along fairly wellPersonality(ies) description(s):
Zane: Zane is often kind and calm. he is easy to get along with but does not handle stressful situations very well, often clamming up during an important moment. sometimes he can be a bit jumpy and can be scared easy. though he may seem like a coward he enjoys hanging around other people and can often be seen as a very sociable person though a bit childish. over all he is a nice person.
Rion: Rion is Zane's other personality. he can converse with Zane mentally, as such he often makes it look like Zane is talking to himself. that aside rion is more of an older brother type, he is very protective of zane and can come across as brash and hot headed. he often takes controle of zanes body when zane gets to afraid or if he is in a bad situation. sometimes they switch out just to let the other have some free time. being like he is rion is very arrogant and speaks his mind freely.
though most split personalities are often the polar opposite of the original. Zane and Rion seem to have developed a brotherly bond and as such they can deal with each others personality. though sometimes one or the other will forcibly take over and lock the other in a so called mental cage. during these times the other has no recollection of what happens ~*~  Username: Klepto_Kit Character Name:Kijt Sethos Age:15 # of Personalities:5 Short Bio:Kijt never had a solid, stable home. When she was young her father was stabbed in front of her, he lived though. Her mother was taken to prison and once again, Kijt was right there when it happened, though she claimed to not remember. She lived with her father until she was five, and during that time he left her with his friends and other family members during the week so that he could work; they often beat her. When she was with her father they often had no money and ate from Dumpsters, the power was always turned off and so was the water. Three days after her fifth birthday, two of her aunts came to get her, and when they had her they proceeded to beat, starve, and mentally abuse her for the two years they had her. Even when her mother got out of prision things continued to stay bad, her mother was mentally unstable and the money issue never got better. Things got worse when her mother got into a car accident and nearly died, going psychotic in the proccess, and she took it out on her daughter. At 14, her mother died, and she's spent the next year dealing with her fathers abusive girlfriend.
Kijt has more than just one mental disorder, she's also paranoid, schitzophrenic, delusional, has kleptomania, servere depression and suicidal and homocidal tendancies, and has BED on top of her multiple personalites. Personality(ies) description(s):Kijt: She's a happy person normally, she laughs easily, but has a short fuse and gets angry easily. She's a very physical person, she needs to hug people she cares about, and she can be clingy. Because of her mental issues all she's very unstable, she can become depressed easily, and she doesn't know how to deal with her emotions.
Gin: The first personality, born of Kijt's desperate need for a mother figure. She's loving and sweet, kind, and very maternal. She loves to cook and clean.
Vyx: The second personality, born shortly after Gin. She's very angry and violent, which is a parallel to her also flirty and sensual side. She loves to flirt and make crude comments, and she's often very sarcastic. For some reason she likes making pottery...
Raine: Kijt's only male personality, he's very masculine, a real alpha male personality. He himself seems to have multiple personalites, alternating between goofy and sweet to domineering and agressive. He too is a major flirt, though he's also oddly romantic; he writes poetry as well as designs outfits for the other personalites to "wear" inside of Kijt's delusions.
Tyr: The youngest of Kijt's personalites, she's only been around for a month or so. She's sweet and shy, but she's also extreamly depressed and very emotional, she's prone to cry at the drop of a hat. She hates to be touched by anyone at all, though she makes up for it by being so adorably pathetic that if she asks people for things they almost never say no.~*~  Username: Elaine Electric Dinosaur Character Name:Pheebe Elise Magrill Age:16 # of Personalities:2 Short Bio:Pheebe was born into a drug filled world. Her mother did drugs and as did her father. Her father used to beat her every night and rape her. CHildrens and faimiles dragged her away at age 5 and she got put into a loving foster home. Things were hard for her as a kid. She started switching personalities at the age of 10. Her first switch was a girl named "Ericka". The teacher was confussed and called her parents. Soon they discovered what was wrong with her. She got the best treatment as possible but that wasnt as helpfull as it needed to be. She has been homeschooled untill now. She has always carried this small stuffed bear named "giggles" around with her. She also is a huge christian and loves god. She doesnt remember being aboused or raped. Personality(ies) description(s):Pheebe: Pheebe is quite and shy. She is very well at school and does her school work really well. She loves to sing and draw. She is very talented at both.
Ericka: Ericka is loud and hyper. She likes scremo and hard rock. She hates school completly. She isnt very smart. She acts like a class clown. She is a little immature and rude. She loves everything. She has very extreme anger issue and will injure someone if mad enough. She is very strong
Sara: Sara is a very artsy girl. She paints and draws all the time. She never stops singing or pays any attention to school work. She loves to dance so she dances alot. She is bubbly but not loud. She is very friendly and wouldnt hurt a soul. She loves all nature. She's kinda boy crazy. She is never uncalm. ~*~  Username:Robiroth Character Name:Alexander Satonik Age:17 # of Personalities:2 Short Bio:His parents were all right and fairly plain. He never really fit in at high school. The only thing that made it tolerable was his girlfriend. But she didn't like the fact his unpopularity was holding her back so she dumped him. He didn't take it too well and sabotaged their relationship. A few years after high school by chance they met at a concert. He overheard some thugs planning to rape her and stopped them in an alley outside the concert hall. In the attempt he was shot and mortally wounded. He was in a coma for a year, during which the ex revealed she intentionally left him there because she was mad at him. A few hours later he woke up and broke out. Personality(ies) description(s):Alex is fairly mild-mannered and plesant. His other half, Sirius, not so much. He is cruel and utterly without compassion and sympathy and seems to enjoy hurting people emotionally. He is also borderline anti-woman.~*~  Username: oDeathNoted.

Short Bio:When she was young, around the age of six, her life was going just fine. She was living alone with her father and her sister, as well as her cat. One day, the neighbors next door moved out, and within a week, the new neighbors moved in. Her father made friends with these people, and whenever he would go out to have fun with his friends, the neighbors would come and babysit. However, when their father wasn't home, and only Nani and her sister were with the neighbors, Mark and Karol, their true side was unleashed. For every thing they did, whether it was right or wrong, the neighbors found it was quite fun to abuse the two girls, both mentally and physically. Not only that, but they'd get into trouble with their father, whom they used to have a good relationship with. This is because Mark used to tell their father that the marks and cuts and bruises were from Nani and her sister fighting, something they never did. Perhaps all the lies were too much for Nani, because at the age of eleven, Haru came into existence. Before her father had a chance to discover Haru, he left the world, hit by a car, one that looked a bit too much like the next dor neighbor's car. Sent to an orphanage regardless of the neighbors' fighting, the two sisters were split apart, and soon Nani's only friend was her other half.
Personality(ies) description(s):Nani Hai; Nani is a quiet little girl. Though she is sixteen now, she has never forgotten her past, and she has never seen her sister since they were split up. Even though she's quiet, she's fun-loving and perky when you get to know her, so it's quite easy to tell when she's upset, because she quiets down, shakes her head at almost every question, and begins to bite her nails. Intelligent and artsy, Nani is the better half of herself.
Haru; Haru is a tempermental, easily bothered male. He is mentally younger than Nani, though he is strong and willing to kick anybody's butt. He is in need of some serious anger management help, though he has never recieved it. Getting Nani in trouble for "starting serious fights" and injuring others, he's the worse side of her. Hurtful, and easily hurt himself, he speaks the truth, almost never opens up to anybody, and tends to make enemies with everybody.~*~  Username: ZetsumeiTenshi
Character Name: Rinoa Tsukino
Age: 16

Short Bio: Rinoa's life was a rather dark one. The furthest memory she could conjure was when she was as young as anyone could possibly remember and at that time, her parents were going through a horrible divorce. Parents always arguing and throwing things at one another. When her mother is out during the day for work, her father would bring home all kinds of different women from the streets and done unnameable things. Most of the time, the strange women treated her as some sort of a pet always cleaning up after her father was through with his business and what not. By the time her mother returned, Rinoa would be covered in such grime her mother would be infuriated at her father. Things have gone on that way until she turned seven, when she couldn't take all the fighting and the whores going into the house just to stink up the place further more. In another one of her parents arguments, she snuck into the kitchen and grabbed hold of a large knife. By the time she returned to the fighting, her mother was found laying on the already stained carpet in a puddle of her own blood. All the pent up rage just blew and blinded her as she murdered her own father and his whores. When she was able to see again, she realized her mistake and took off on foot. Silence carried on for about two days in her shock of everything that had happened. Eventually the cops had found her and was sent her to a mental hospital, where she had received an invitation to a special school.
Personality(ies) description(s):
Xena(right): the cold, distant, cynical, hateful and angry part of Rinoa. The one that had taken over when Rinoa found her beloved mother dead at the feet of her father. Also known to be sadistic and loves to play with others mentally and physically.
Kate(left): the hyper, optimistic, spontaneous, carefree, childish part of Rinoa is the newest personality she had developed only learning to be happy for the first time as she enjoyed the school and started to make friends around her age. Kate is also known to be the flirty type from what Rinoa had picked up from the whores after being with them for so long.
Rin(center): Rin take the appearance after Rinoa herself. She is the withdrawn, detached, shy and paranoid part of Rinoa. Most of which you'll see of Rinoa. Rin is wise for her age and also likes to study and observe things, looking for the possiblities before she makes a move or decision for anything.

Iris stalked through the school hallway, and glared at anyone who gave her so much as a glance. She flung open a door, and the class that was in session all stared at her. She glared back until all of them lost their nerve. She took each step purposefully but quickly as she headed toward her teacher. She handed her a late slip and slid into a front row seat while flinging her backpack on the back of the chair.

It's hard to say that I was wrong, it's hard to say I miss you.. Karissa sat in class anxiously awaiting the bell to ring. School was such a drag for her sometimes. She rarely did her work, and hardly tried on her tests. Anytime the teacher would call on her, she would shrug her shoulders and look away. When the bell rang, she walked to her locker and put up her books. Since you've been gone, it's not the same..

The class passed uneventfully, except for a few people suddenly going crazy in the middle. Though, that happened all the time. As the bell rang, a few people tried to walk up to her, but she simply looked at them and they stopped. Iris skipped out of the classroom, and everyone seemed to let out a collective sigh of relief. She put her books in her locker and saw that a girl with black hair and reddish eyes did the same. She smiled at her. "Hi," She said.

She went back to her own business in her looker, when she had finished in the locker she turned back to the girl. She held out her hand, and said in a monotone voice, "I am Karissa." Since you've been gone, it's not the same..

She read it and then replied, "I go to history." in a blank voice. Just another class to bore my way through, Karissa thought to herself, joy. "What class are you heading to next?" Since you've been gone, it's not the same..

Karissa's way of walking showed little liveliness. She walked, barely moving anything but her legs. It matched her blank tone, and expressionless face. When she realized that Iris was not with her, she stopped and moved to the side of the hall to wait for her. Since you've been gone, it's not the same..

Iris blinked a few times, trying to get a grasp on Karissa's mood, or lack of mood, as it were. She realized that Karissa had left, but she ran through the hall to catch up to her. She slowed when she saw that Karissa was waiting for her. "Hey, what's with your mood? Are you always like this?" She asked, curiosity coloring her voice.
