Arziki pawed at Setoh's small black ear. He was growing quickly, and she knew she could leave now. She had planned on getting away from here as fast as possible, and now that she knew she could leave at any moment, she wasn't sure what held her back.

She sat beneath the tree, Setoh curled next to her with his head pillowed on her skirt. The tree that shaded them cast abstract shadows across her face. Something about today was strange. Calm... almost dreary. She almost, for just as moment, thought that perhaps she was sad to be leaving so soon. But that was ridiculous wasn't it?

Gage was not so much in peace however. "Mother ********!" He half snarled and half howled. He glared at the porcupine in front of him. He didn't do anything to prevoke the thing, it just attacked him. The now adult male hissed, baring his fangs, the vampire qualities from his parents showing. "********!" He hissed again moving forward and swiping at paw at him making it roll over then digging his fangs into the body, sucking the blood dry before looking up. The pines in his paws hurt a bit but he was ignoring it. With a sigh he moved toward the water, his frustration going away. He moved his paw into the water and bent down pulling one out, blood coming out for a moment before it quickly healed and he was free to pull out another.

Arziki flicked her ear as an all too familiar voice drifted toward her. She frowned, carefully detaching herself from her son and padding quickly toward the water.

Upon seeing him she had to smile a little. He grew almost as fast as her boys were. "Well, well, well... Look who's finally grown a mane." As she padded closer her frown returned. "And look who got his a** kicked. And you honestly think you could protect me and the boys." She snorted.

Gage twitched as he heard a voice, pulling out another spine and tossing it to the side, the the last before he turned to look at the female a small glare growing. He was normalyl sweet but he was currently in a bad mood. "******** you." He grumbled, he turned more, his shirt slightly stained with fresh blood, the same with some of his mane and maw. He arched a brow at her before shaking his head and lapping up a little more of his water. He loved blood, pure blood like his mother and he was the same size as his father. Perfect combo for him.

Arziki growled, unaccustomed to this nastier Gage. "I can't believe you're talking to me like that..." But when she thought about it, she wan't all that angry. In fact, she almost liked the change. Not that she would let him know that.
Angrily she placed her paw on his shoulder and pushed roughly, having a little strength to her body. "And to think I was ACTUALLY going to let you know that I was leaving today. I should have just left without the boys ever ******** saying bye."

Gage rolled his eyes before lapping up some water trying his hardest to ingore her. No matter how many times he tried to be nice to her he always some how ended up getting swiped at, how bad would it be if he acted like a b*****d for once? When he was pushed he stumbled just a little before turning around with a snarl and pushing his chest against hers looking down at her in the eye then snapping his jaw in one quick movement. "Like hell they'd let you live through one day sanely with out them complaining about not saying good bye." He snarled between clenched teeth a growl rumbling from his chest.

She didn't step back once, she pushed back with as much force as she did, looking straight into he eyes with her own elemental double-fangs bared. Her lava eyes swirled angrily. "You really think they're that attached to you? I don't think they could give a rat's a** about you!"

But just as the words left her mouth Setoh came into the clearing. He wobbled slightly and his lids were heavy with exhaustion. He had just enough energy to stumble over to Gage before he collapsed unerneath him. "Momma? Why are you fighting with Daddy?" But before he got his answer he was fast asleep, snoring gently.

Arziki didn't know what to say. She hadn't moved much, her chest still pressed against Gage's, but her gaze had left his, and was now staring in bewilderment at the cub, a look of innocent uncertainty across painting her eyes.

Gage snarled again as she pressed herself against him and soon his own fangs, vampiric ones were shown. He was so close into turning her into a meal too but he didn't want to do that. He was trying to convince himself it was for the cubs but inside he knew that wasn't it.

He went to say something else until small paws were making their way toward him before he knew the small cub was under him. He wasn't going to move his stance however, that was until the cub spoke.

"They don't hm?" He half growled, a little more quietly not wanting to wake the now sleeping cub but it was still a growl. Still threatening an annoyed.

It took her a second to even acknowledge he had spoken. Slowly she looked up at him, and without having expected it, a tear rolled down her cheek. She backed away swiftly, her head down, and curled away from the male with her son. Her breathing was uneven with silent sobs as she cried into her paws, soaking her mesh gloves. This wasn't what was suppose to happen!

Gage thought for the moment that he was going to have to act in defense once more. Or attack, he wasn't even that sure of what kind of mood he was in at the moment. But once he watched her walk away he looked toward the cub making sure he was alseep before gently lifting him in his jaws and putting him next to his siblings. Then he turned toward Arziki he could smell her tears lingering in the air and he sighed softly walking up to her and protectivly standing over her, moving his head down slowly to nuzzzle her.

A growl gurggled in her throat at the contact but died as quickly as she dried to hide her face further in her paws. "Just... why did you have to...?" She choked out. "Why?" Her voice was strained and muffled, but clear enough. She was demanding answers, though at the moment she couldn't get her head clear enough to understand what exactly she was looking for in his answers.

Gage was confused, he wasn't sure what was going on, he looked up at the cubs for a moment. He felt like they were his own, but he knew that isn't really why he was around so much, or so thats what he was thinking, he was pretty sure of it. When he picked up the fact that she was talking he looked down even more confused now. "What?" He whispered softly, calmly into her ear.

This time the growl was full fledged as she rolled over to glare straight into his eyes. "Why did you have make them love you? With your caring, fatherly attitude and that damn protectiveness of yours! I can't just leave now! They'd be scarred for life! And what about me? I don't know that I would leave if I could now! Damn you for doing this too me!" She cried out, her eyes shutting tight. "Damn you."

She let her muscles relax, opening her eyes again to watch him. "Fate plays the nastiest, most angering games with my heart."

Gage did not look away as she turned around to look into his eyes. He looked to her with a soft look at first before they started to narrow slowly at what she had to say. "Really?" He half hissed to her, clenching his jaw as he did. "Really?" He repeated, his tone more angry. He watched her as her eyes closed then opened again, he snarled before turning away from her pacing back and forth his fangs bared and his mother's temper rising in him. "You know if I wasn't around you and those cubs would be dead!" He looked at her then snarled again. "My father normally isn't the nicest to anyone who brings cubs around here, they would have been dead. My mother doesn't like other females, and with you weak you would have been dead!" He swiped at the ground angerly before glaring at her. "I helped you all that time and you swear to me!" His voice angry and he turned toward her again his stance dominating as he got closer to her.

"You know I thought you weren't bad, but you're weak, not because you're crying... Noooo. because you are another one who cannot take help."

She watched him, her breathing slow and heavy. She glared as he tried to to be dominating, but her ears fell back and she curled away slightly. More tears clouded her eyes but she fought them back and let a snarl ripple through her body. "Let them kill me! I know you wouldn't let them take my sons, but let them take me!" She roared. The cubs squirmed, but didn't stir. "Let them take me so that I'm no longer a disgrace! I didn't fit in with my family, the father of my sons didn't want to be in their life, and now, now I'm weak, I'm unhealthy looking," she motioned to her hips which were starting to pertrude as she lost weight, "and I can't even take care of my cubs alone. It's not that I can't take help, but if I couldn't even get the male who got me pregnant to help, shouldn't I obviously be doing it alone?" She snorted, rolling over so she could look away from him. "What wrong has happened in your life? You got in a fight with your parents because I was here? I might have put my father at war with the spirits of sin." She huffed.

Gage was slightly surprised as the female backed away. He wasn't expecting that. His own breathing was heavy, he was trying his hardest to calm himself even though it was failing. "I wouldn't let them." He said in between clenched teeth. It took him a lot to admit that he wasn't sure why though. "I've tried to help you, I've brought you meals that you refused to eat. If you didn't deserve to be here then why am I still around?" He asked his tone slightly annoyed but still a little calm, or a fake sort of calm, he was trying to keep himself from hurting her, he didn't want to. Once blood was spilt that was it he would want more. "I haven't been through much in my life but I am young. Don't judge me by that, I wouldn't judge you by that." He growled lowly to her.

"You called me weak. I merely explained why I've come to be the way I am." She sighed. "I'll leave as soon as the boys are awake and ready. You can say goodbye to them before we go. Then I'll be out of your hair." She rested her head on the ground, her whole body limp. She was tired, being a mother left little energy for her to thrust into pointless fights. Even her eyes, once bright and churning, were dull and upset. This would have to be another are she stayed clear of. Perhaps she'd just live in the caves of the mountains for the rest of her life. When the boys grew, she'd set them free into the world and then carry on her life alone. That sounded pretty good right now.

Gage watched her with a sorrowed expression starting to cross his face. What was wrong with him? His realself was coming out right now. He moved closer to her as she laid down, sighing softly, he reached out a paw, pulling her head close to his face licking it softly before sighing. "I don't want you to leave." He said softly before sighing at himself and laying down, resting her head on his paws. "I..." He sighed softly before he shook his head, he had to finish that sentance some how. "I'm sorry." He coughed, it wasn't intened for him to say something but rather something with more meaning but that wasn't what came out.

Her dark cheeks were colored with a blush when he licked her. She let him move her and nuzzled her head into his paws as an almost gut reaction with no thought put into it. She buried he face into his mane and sighed, an almost content sound. "It's okay, Gage. I'm sorry for everything I said. It was... very wrong." The words were foreign on her lips, but they came easily. "Why do you want me around? Won't your parents be angry?"

Gage looked at her a little surprise at all of her reactions. It really caught him off gaurd but he like dit, he liked it a lot. "I can talk to my mother, she can talk to my father. I'm sure you can stay." He murmured softly. "Just close you eyes and relax, get some rest."

She murred tiredly, curled herself closer to him for a little extra warmth. "Mmm... I think the boys would be happy if we stayed." She yawned wide and settled her head down. "I..." She cut off for a second blinking. "I love you." It came out a muffled, mangled sentence, and she would have been relieved if he hadn't heard. But she suspected her luck wasn't that good.

Gage smiled as she started to relaxed, now that he thought about it he liked the idea that they were all staying, even the boys. He purred softly before he blinked at her talking, then she managed a full sentance. "I love you too." He purred quietly pulling her closer and nuzzling her.

Arziki almost forgot to be mortified that he'd heard. She melted under his nuzzle and licked his cheek softly. "Thank you." She purred.
