Aya covered her ears to protect them from the starter guns blast. She took off with a jolt, keeping her eye on the finish line. "Wow, I'm off to a good start" she thought as she looked behind her to see how far ahead she was.

Pixi jumped at the noise from the gun and took off runing, trying to watch where she was going as well as where her feet were. She was trying her best to avoid tripping and hitting a tree like she has done in the past.

Fishi twitched a little when the pistol went off but she didn't let it distract her for too long and soon she was out running at a pretty good pace. She kept her eyes on the rainbow to motivate herself.

The little dragon Zak jumped as the pistol went off, she really wasn't expecting it to be that loud. With a small squeak she saw other contestants begin to run off towards the end of the rainbow and began herself not wanting to be left behind any longer.

Here we go. The gun shoot echoed in Venexia's head as she took off nervously. Here went nothing. Worried thought nipped at her mind as she breathed (in through your nose, out through your mouth - she'd heard that was good while running) - was she supposed to pace herself? Go fast? Go slow? Sighing loudly (through her mouth, of course) she decided she'd figure it out as she went. After all, she had nothing to loose...right?

*BANG*
The shot scared poor Melloon into sprinting, taking of before the smoke cleared frm the starter gun. Her eyes fixed on the rainbow in front of her, she began a swift pace that quickly took her into the upper spots in the race.

Trying to breathe deeply looking at the ground Emerald approaches the starting line combating both her nervousness concerning the race and being around so many people she hasn't met. As she looks up the rainbow fills her vision and she remembers why she wanted to do this. Em drops effortlessly into a runners crouch, both hands on the ground in a semi-lunge position just waiting to hear that gun. As it goes off she uses the shock from the noise to fuel her takeoff.
