If you've been following the news recently, American Internal Group, or AIG, has received outraged disapproval from Congressmen, Senators, the President himself, and of course the American people after AIG prepares to give bonuses to several execs of the company after receiving a $170 billion bailout from the federal government. These execs are ironically the same ones that caused AIG to make the risky decisions that led to its downfall in the first place. I bring this to the table because a good Texan loves nothing more than a good pitch-forkin' and torchin'! Let the angry mobbery commence! (For more information on this, see AIG Bonus Payment Scandal)

Well, they're greedy and are trying to snag as much money as possible. You can't reason with them without physical punishment. It's because of this that the economy and the people are asking the government's help more often. Eventually, we would want us to follow the orders of the senate. And forceful rules from the government is a no-no. But other than murder and torture, what can we do?

According to my teacher, Congress is sooo mad at AIG, that they're passing an illegal tax on those who received the bonus. Although they do have some things that try to make it a legal tax (which is a 90% tax, mind you), they're in violation of the Constitution. They're only doing this, however, because they want to appease the people before they start rioting. Now, I think this is pretty stupid of them to try to do that and I suspecting that most of them aren't thinking straight, but is this really a solution?

Yes it is. It's either this or the people of America begin to riot and protest like the people over in Europe in response to the G20 Summit meetings, shouting chants of 'revolution'. The last revolution I remember in Europe left 30 million dead and an Iron Curtain drawn across Western and Eastern Germany.
With this new administration and the greed and villianous nature portrayed of corporate fat cats, we may be looking at another American Revolution, this time for Communism.

Ehhh...communism really wouldn't work in America. The reason it wouldn't is because since we are large country with soooo many people with soooo many different beliefs, we would end up killing half to two-thirds of our population....and then some.

Or as I see it, the ignorant majority will approve, the rest will be in an uproar, and riots, and possibly a civil war will ensue. I'm hoping Texas secedes, though.

To what? It's own independent state, or Mexico? Either way, I'd like to see that try and work out...

Actually, we were doing pretty good after we won our independence from Mexico, but our war debts kept us down, so instead of paying them, we allowed ourselves to be annexed by the United States in 1845. Since we voluntarily joined the Union, we can legally secede, unlike the secession of many Southern States in 1861 which was technically illegal.
In any case, we secede, form the Republic of Texas again, and live off our oil industry.

...your LIMITED amount of oil supply. Texas, compared to other states, is big, but not enough big to supply gallons of oil.

We'll survive off of it until we can figure out another means of Texas production, such as automobiles, agriculture, or firearms.

Somehow I think that Communism and America just won't work... I mean, all the Red Scares, and the fact that, lets face it, the majority of the world today is extremely selfish, thus we all want to be better and richer. Therefore, it would extremely difficult for Communism to succeed.
Hell, even some of the most advanced and well-developed countries struggle with racial egalitarianism, so how can we expect everyone to be held equal in every possible aspect? Why, we've even tried so hard at gender equality for women that now even some men are being put as an underdog. Of course, the Middle East is treats a lot of women as dirt. We have no true equality before law, despite what we all wish to think. True, many are equal, but what of celebrities, and how many get much less punishment than the average Joe?
What most people think of when we speak of Communism is Economic Egalitarianism, which is slightly closer to socialism. EE states that all participants of society should have equal access to power, wealth, as well as an equal contribution.
Anyways... From what I'm told, the best beef comes from Texas, and I'm sure it'd only take a few rowdy cowboys to beat some of the pansier states into submission. Maybe you can have a long-distance relationship with Quebec?

Well, seeing as Texas and Quebec are equivalents to their own country (As in, they're entirely different-ish, and want to secede), One has some damn good steaks, the other has a bunch of farmland and makes damn good gravy... It could equal the creation of the perfect meal!
I'd move to Quebec for a Texa-Bec Steak & random veggie-gravy dinner.

Hmm... I second this motion!
Back on topic, even though this topic is months old, it can quickly converted to where should the government put its tax cuts and bailouts? In big business or in common people's hands?
