Your Stats

Accuracy-chance to hit a target accuracy-monster's dodge=chance to hit

Dodge-chance that the monster will miss you

Willpower-Ability to resist getting stunned and other negative effects

Speed-How fast you run

Weight-Ability to resist being knocked as far back

Health-Your Hit Points. How much life you have before getting daed

Health Regeneration-Rate of HP returning while sitting

Stamina Regeneration-Rate of stamina recovery while sitting or standing (much faster when sitting

Luck-Impacts your drop rates for orbs and other items! May also impact chance to hit in a smaller way?

ARMOR SYSTEM

The new system uses percentage damage reduction instead. So…instead of subtracting only 5 points from an attack, you might subtract 15% of its damage instead.

Persistent Armor: This armor only goes away when the duration of the effect expires.

Armor Pool: This is an "ablative" version of Persistent Armor. That means that as you hit it, it chips away until eventually it becomes useless. It still reduces incoming damage by a percentage, but damage is also drained out of the ability's Armor Pool at the same time. So…if an attack is hitting you for 100 points of damage, the Armor Pool might stop 20% of that damage (20 points), but it would remove that same 20 points from its Armor Pool reserve. The Armor Pool effect goes away if the Armor Pool reserve is drained to zero OR the ability's duration expires, whichever comes first.

Abilities with Armor Pools generally give more protection than Persistent Armor abilities, but they can crumble under heavy damage loads.

Ghi Abilities!

You gain Ghi abilities slowly as you play the game. Being in crews and staying near each other helps you gain new Ghi abilities. I hear that casting healing and buffs on your crew-mates also gets you closer to earning your next boost!

There are the following Ghi Abilities:
Willpower
Health
Luck
Dodge
Accuracy

Each of those starts out with no boost and then you earn a feeble boost. You gain each boost in feeble and then cycle back and to getting stronger versions of each boost until you eventually get Major boosts.

You do not need to *use* these abilities! They are active all of the time but their effectiveness depends on your Ghi meter. So if you have a Health Boost that gives 100 extra HP, and your Ghi meter is at 50% then you will get only 50 extra HP. This is one good reason to stay in large crews or to visit Barton town often.

Rings: What they do

________________________________________________

NOTE: Rings have been changed a lot recently and there may be some old info that I missed! Please reply if you see any errors!

Soulbound?
A lot of people still don't understand what it means. Soulbound means a certain item, in your inventory, cannot be traded or sold in the Marketplace they can only be sold in the Shops [E.g. Back Alley Bargains]. All rings found in zOMG! are soulbound to it's user and nobody else can use it, the rings in the Marketplace were found before December 8th, the day Soulbinding was added to zOMG! The rings that are soulbound are better salvaged than sold in shops for only 2 gold. You can purchase a ring on the Marketplace, and as long as you do NOT equip it, it will stay "un-soulbound". That means you can turn it around and sell it again if you want to do so. But the moment you put it on your avatar's finger, it's yours forever.

Attack Rings:
User Image Bump - Turn that hip around and BUMP your opponent away from you. Knocking them FAR away at higher Rage Ranks. The process *is* painful to your target.

User Image Dervish - Whirling at incredible speed, you deal damage to all foes close to you. Higher Rage Ranks knock your enemies farther back and increase the area you hit.

User Image Fire Rain - Summon burning rain from the sky to fall in an area around yourself damaging your foes and draining their Willpower. Higher Rage Ranks result in bigger damage areas and greater Willpower drains.

User Image Guns, Guns, Guns - When all else fails, haul out the artillery and drown your target in lead! Higher Rage Ranks create a wider spray of bullets, causing more damage in a bigger and bigger area around your target.

User Image Hack - Land a colossal blow to your foes! Hits things hard, even causing them to bleed for a bit after you hit them. At higher Rage Ranks, the bleeding lasts longer, thus causing more damage.

User Image Heavy Water Balloon - You create a giant water ballon and hurl it at your foes, causing a colossal splash in a large area, damaging those affected. Higher Rage Ranks make bigger splashes and Taunt the enemies in the area to attack you instead of your friends.

User Image Hornet's Nest - Hurl a nest of hornets at the ground, creating a swarm that attacks nearby foes. Higher Rage Ranks increase the area affected, as well as making the target sometimes panic and run away. (Fear)

User Image Hot Foot - Set your target's feet on fire, causing it pain for several seconds after the attack occurs. While the target is on fire, it also suffers a Dodge penalty, making it easier to hit. Higher Rage Ranks make this ability affect an area around the target.

User Image Hunter's Bow - This bow lets you fire arrows often and far, damaging your foe and slowing it down so they can't get to you easily. Higher Rage Ranks reduce the target's Footspeed.

User Image Mantis -You create a katana from nothing to do your bidding. Does light damage, but attacks again very quickly. At higher Rage Ranks, it also drains an enemy's Willpower.

User Image Shark Attack - Groundsharks attack your foe, often knocking it away from you, and also causing some bleeding to persist after the attack. Higher Rage Ranks result in longer bleeding duration and sometimes paralyzing your target with shock. (Root)

User Image Shuriken -Hurl spiny metal stars at your foes! In addition to damaging your target, higher Rage Ranks increase the effect to an area around your target, plus they cause your target to have reduced Accuracy for a time.

User Image Slash - You slash at the nearby foes in front of you, doing damage to all that you hit. Your slash becomes wider and deeper at higher Rage Ranks, allowing you to hit more enemies.

User Image Solar Rays - Focus the power of the sun into a beam that damages your foe and, at higher Rage Ranks, can knock it away from you, or even stun it to Sleep for a short time.

Healing Rings:
User Image Bandage - Start a bandaging process on you or a friend. Healing then occurs over a short time, a bit at a time. Higher Rage Ranks increase the amount of Health recovered.

User Image Defibrillate - Use this on a Dazed ally, and you'll instantly Awaken them. Higher Rage Ranks increase the amount of Health and Stamina recovered, as well as reducing the number of rings temporarily locked because you had been Dazed.

User Image Diagnose - You analyze the wounds of all allies in the area around you and heal them of some of their wounds, including your own! Higher Rage Ranks increase the healing effect and the area affected.

User Image Divinity - Use this to draw lifeforce energy to you more quickly, increasing the rate at which you and your nearby friends regain Stamina, even during combat! Higher Rage Ranks let you recover Stamina even more quickly, and the highest Rage Ranks even help you find loot more easily. (Luck)

User Image Healing Halo - Create this halo over you and your nearby allies. You all then regenerate health more quickly, even during combat! Higher Rage Ranks increase this effect and the highest Rage Ranks also make all affected targets harder to knockback. (Weight)

User Image Meat - Be a meateater and beef up big and strong! You heal a big chunk of damage you've suffered as well as increasing your maximum Health the same amount. Higher Rage Ranks increase the amount of Health increased.

User Image Wish - Heal any of your friends, one at a time with this quickly-recharging and powerful ring. Higher Rage Ranks heal targets standing around your target also. The bigger the Rage Rank, the bigger the area affected.

Buff/Debuff Rings:
User Image Adrenaline - You jump up the nerves of your foe, causing them to jitter and shake, spoiling their ability to Dodge your blows for a time. Higher Rage Ranks also cause damage to your enemy.

User Image Coyote Spirit - Area Effect. Use this ring to give you or any friend a faster Footspeed. This ring also makes you able to Dodge attacks a bit more nimbly. Higher Rage Ranks increase the Footspeed bonus, as well as providing you the Luck of the Coyote.

User Image Fitness/??? - When you wear this ring, you just get…better! Accuracy, Dodge, Willpower, Weight, Health Regeneration, Stamina Regneration and even Luck are all given minor bonuses. This ring is passive and does not need to be clicked to be fully functional. Just wear it and it works!

User Image Fleet Feet - Area Effect. Sometimes, you just need to get away. This makes you, and any friends around you, greatly increase your Footspeed for a brief time. Since you're probably running into or out of trouble, this also bolsters your Willpower with a modest bonus at higher Rage Ranks.

User Image Ghost - Area Effect. You become slightly ethereal and matter occasionally, err, passes through you in a fairly disturbing fashion. (Dodge) Higher Rage Ranks increase the amount of Dodge bonus you receive. (Dodge bonues also decrease the chance that a monster will Critical Hit you during a fight.)

User Image Iron Will - Area Effect. When you fight a foe using Sleep, Root, Fear or other Willpower-based ability, Iron Will erects defenses around your mind (or the minds of any of your friends) to help you resist their evil influence. Higher Rage Ranks amplifies your mind still further, allowing you to Deflect occasional incoming attacks.

User Image Keen Aye - Use this on you or a friend to help them spy out where a foe *will* be, letting you hit it more easily. (Accuracy) Higher Rage Ranks increase the Accuracy boost. (Accuracy bonuses also increase the chance that you will Critical Hit a monster on any particular attack.)

User Image Knife Sharpen - You draw the keen edge from a foe's G'hi and use it to sharpen your own metaphorical knives. Your foe suffers an Accuracy drain for a short time as you disrupt its lifeforce. Higher Rage Ranks also cause damage to your enemy.

User Image My Density -Area Effect. Are you getting knocked around by monsters? There's an easy way to solve that. Weigh more! Using this ring increases your Weight and sticks you to the ground. Higher Rage Ranks actually make you dense enough to resist some damage directly! (Persistent Armor)

Defense Rings:
User Image Improbability Sphere - Area Effect. Use the Improbability Sphere to give you or a friend moderate defense (Persistent Armor), as well as to Reflect an attack back against the attacker of you or a friend! Any attack Reflected back on the attacker does the damage to the attacker instead. Higher Rage Ranks increase the amound of Armor and the…probability...that Reflection will occur.

User Image Pot Lid - Area Effect. Use Pot Lid to give you or a friend moderate defense (Persistent Armor) and to sometimes Deflect an attack away from you or a friend completely. Any Deflected attack is nullified completely! Higher Rage Ranks make it more and more likely that a Deflection will occur on an attack.

User Image Rock Armor - Area Effect. Cover each of your allies in Rock Armor giving them strong protection against incoming damage. (Armor Pool) The Rock Armor lasts for several minutes, or until it absorbs enough damage to break up. Higher Rage Ranks make stronger and stronger Armor.

User Image Teflon Spray - This makes some of any incoming damage bounce away instead of hurting you or a friend (Persistent Armor). At higher Rage Ranks, it also makes your target harder to hit (Dodge) and eventually can occasionally Reflect an attack back against your foe.

User Image Turtle - This makes some of any incoming damage bounce away instead of hurting you (Persistent Armor). At higher Rage Ranks, it also makes your target harder to hit (Dodge) and eventually can occasionally Reflect an attack back against your foe.

Crowd Control Rings:
User Image Duct Tape - Wrap your target up and keep it from moving (Sleep). NOTE: Hitting a target while it is taped will weaken the tape and allow it to move again. Higher Rage Ranks start affecting foes around your original target also, as well as increasing the chance that they get bound by tape.

User Image Gumshoe - Make the feet of your enemy sticky and slow its Footspeed substantially. Higher Rage Ranks make this ring affect increasingly-sized areas and slow the targets within even further.

User Image Scaredy Cat - Make your foe flee from you in sheer panic! At higher Rage Ranks, this ring affects entire areas and the tendency for your foes to flee is bigger also.

User Image Taunt - Sometimes, you need to pull enemies away from your friends. This ring does the trick, making foes in an area angered at you for a while. Higher Rage Ranks increase the area affected and the strength of the Taunt. The highest Rage Ranks also make your foes tremble, draining their Dodge for a time.

User Image Quicksand - Cause the ground at an area to become mostly water and then solid mud for a short while, trapping your enemies where they stand. (Root). Higher Rage Ranks increase the area affected, as well as the chance to stick your foes in the mud.

PowerUps - What are they
________________________________________________

PowerUps are extremely helpful if you are under pressure, the game can be completed without the use of them, however, it is nice to know you have a special back-up.

To use them, open your PowerUp tray clicking the little red arrow pointing up on the left side of your ring tray. PowerUps you have are displayed there. PowerUps come with a certain number of charges that dissappear as you use them.

Types of PowerUps currently:

Superchargers - These PowerUps replenish health and stamina. They don't cost any Stamina to use them, so they can be very useful in battle when you're starting to run low stamina, or if you're taking so much damage that you can't heal it all with your rings. They can really get you out of trouble. However, they do have a cooldown, once you use one of them you can use another in 15 seconds.

Ghi Amp/Ghi Boost - When you use this boost your attack rings operate at 150% normal effectiveness for an entire hour!

Double Orb - These PowerUps make you more efficient at gathering orbs from defeated opponents. Thus, you get twice as many charge orbs from a defeated a foe that drops orbs, which can then be put into your rings to advance their Charge Level.

Revive PowerUp - Use Revive whenever you're Dazed to become immediately Awake with about one-third of your Health and Stamina available.

The Cash pricing on PowerUps is designed to be extremely inexpensive. PowerUps lasting a few minutes usually cost less than two cents per charge, whereas PowerUps lasting an hour are still less than a dime per use.

Shallow Seas Tips!

If you play on the harder levels, beware patrols respawn!! Don't linger in areas where the patrols run. Either run through and kill them in a safe area, or kill them as a group and then quickly move along!

Luring works well to help with the large battle groups.

Hiving Tips

The Hive, also known as the Star Portal, is an alien world where your crew will face wave after wave of progresively harder aliens until you're overwhelmed. Watch out, even the walls attack if you get too close! It is a mini-game of sorts since it will reward you with orbs if you make it through enough waves.

There are 3 badges to be gained by fighting in the hive:
Alien World Refugee (5 Waves?)
Alien World Survivor (20 Waves?)
Alien World Conqueror (50 Waves)

The hive scales itself to your crew's CL. You definitely MUST go in with a crew all at the same CL! Any Cl from 7 and up works well, but the hive will scale to your strongest member!

The hive also scales to crew size. The more people, the more monsters you get. The hive is actually easiest for a medium sized crew of 3-5 skilled players.

RINGS:
BUFFS BUFFS TEAM BUFFS - You will not make it far without having a good set of buff rings in your crew. You can have each player bring a few buffs, or may assign one person to being a dedicated buffer. This will help them attract less attention and get attacked less. If so, that person will not bring any attack rings, but only buff rings, healing rings and crowd control rings.

You'll definitely want to have: Divinity, Rock Armor (remember this doesn't work with turtle!) and or Improbability Sphere, and Adrenaline. It is also useful to have Iron Will, Coyote Spirit and Teflon.

CROWD CONTROL: Duct Tape or Scaredy Cat. These rings are invaluable for delaying the next round and also useful for fighting! They DO miss! Improve your odds by having full Ghi, and using Iron Will or Fitness. Do NOT bring both rings in the same crew. Using them both on the same monster causes issues! Also, do not attack any critter that you want to remain taped or asleep!

PERSONAL SHEILDS - If you have players who intend to get a lot of agro and do a lot of attacking, they should try to bring along Ghost, Meat and Turtle.

PLAY

Stay near the center. This will help you avoid the tentacle attacks from the walls and will make it easier to heal and buff each other!

Warn before casting Divinity so any players who've wandered a bit can come into range!

At the end of each wave, if you leave one critter alive and use Duct Tape or Scaredy Cat on it, then the next wave will not start till you kill it! This is a great way to heal and regain stamina! You should make sure to do this any time any member of the crew is at less than half health or stamina! Be sure to use this time to refresh any buffs that have worn off! Duct Tape and Scaredy Cat DO miss! You should reduce the missing by keeping a full Ghi, and using Iron Will and or Fitness. If the CC misses, have everyone heal the person the monster is attacking!

The following equation works for all but two of the data points listed so far, one being CL 1.0 which is an exception and which gives one orb back even though it's empty. I'm not sure why 2.1 seems to give an extra orb. Maybe it's just the Dev's being generous. Basically you get one more orb for every CL.2

Orbs=(Cl-1)x5 (Rounded up to the nearest whole number)
