Floating through the field happily, Spook was enjoying the sunny day since it had been cloudy or overcast for several weeks. There was nothing that could bring her down today. Smiling widely, the mare felt a rush of energy flow through her veins and she gave a burst of speed. She loved the feeling of the wind in her mane and the grass flowing alongside her. It was great...
Spook slowed down in the middle of the field slowly coming to a halt. She was thrilled about getting away from the teepee today. She always felt so constricted there but she just enjoyed her freedom. Though, she would probably not leave home anytime soon. Her family was everything to her and she wanted to have a family of her own someday.
Flowers were being to bud and bloom and Spook looked at some of the flowers curiously. Being half flutter, she had an innate feeling to just smell them. So she did. Lowering her neck, Spook quickly lifted her muzzle and snorted loudly. Pollen had gotten all over her nose and she couldn't help but laugh.

He was a small speck of dancing colour, bobbing and weaving in his shrunk form as he made loops over the newly blooming early spring flowers. Wisp had been born in the winter, so all this colour was new and exciting for him, a breath of life after the dead of winter.
His mother had promised him that there would be more to see once enough time had passed, he'd grown, the seasons were changing and he knew her words to be true. Even though she was a big flake, on occasions what she told him was exactly as it happened.
He skimmed lower now, tail and mane flaring out behind him, like streamers of colour. He danced in the air, making more loops until he felt slightly dizzy. With a muzzy head, he flew towards the ground, changing size just as he landed, only now noticing the mare that was mere feet from him, winged as his was, her head crowned with a horn.

Spook had closed her eyes and looked up letting the sun's rays warm her face. It felt so nice. She couldn't understand why some soquili didn't like going out into the open and sunlight. She truly needed it. Spook had seen quite a few winters and springs in her time but today seemed especially exceptional.
Noticing a bright soquili in the sky, Spook watched him curiously and he flew. She couldn't help but smile because he seemed really graceful in the sky. Spook wasn't nearly as smooth when flying but she wasn't too graceful on land either. He seemed friendly enough.
She didn't approach him quite yet and waited for him to land. Spook didn't want to be too overbearing but she still wanted to be friendly.
In general, Spook wasn't an overly talkative soquili. She liked conversation and socializing but she did like her space once in awhile. Thinking was something she did quite often but her thoughts usually included her conclusions about the universe and everything around her. Spook had come to learn to appreciate everything she was blessed with.

'Hi there.' Wisp smiled in a way of greeting, peering out between the strands of his mane that had somehow tangled into a sort of 'hairy mask' from his aerial acrobatics and his landing.
'Gimme a sec..' he said, grinning this time, and stopped to bend his head down, using his front legs and rubbing so that he could untangle the crossed hairs. A few attempts at doing that, and then a thorough shaking of his head and his mane was pretty much back where it should be.
'That's better. Doing loops with long hair isn't advised.' he said, only now taking the opportunity to see the mare properly. The horn which he'd already noticed was a different colour to the rest of her, and she had very intense eyes. 'I'm Wisp btw.'

"Hello." She smiled as she returned the greeting and giggled as he fixed his hair. His mane was so long... and it was beautiful. It must have taken a lot to take care of it. Eyeing his wings curiously, his wings were different than her's; they had strange markings on them but she thought they were very unique. She had never even seen a soquili that looked like him.
"Yeah. I imagine your hair could get in the way." Spook grinned goofily wondering what it would be like to do loops in the air. She really only used her wings to fly over trees or flutter from flower bed to flower bed.
"It's quite a pleasure to meet you Wisp. I'm Spook." She hadn't interacted with a new soquili in quite a long time. She had spent most of her time with her family and near her teepee. It was quite refreshing.

Wisp nodded with a chuckle; 'Yes. When I'm mid loop, hanging upside down for a mere sec it's all good. But on the way back to righting myself is when it falls back. Every once in a while I get into a proper tangle with it..'
He eyed her quite trim mane. 'I expect you never really have that problem..maybe I could tie it up?' he poked his tongue out.
'Spook..you have a strangely similar name to mine then.' he said with delight, Wisp and Spook both could be used as another word for 'Spirit'.
'You aren't a pure flutter are you?' he asked with a tilted head, then hastily added; 'I hope you don't think I mean that in a bad way, I was curious about how you differ in looks to myself and my family.'

"That sounds fun though." Spook tried to imagine doing that but it was difficult. "Flying's fun but I don't do it too often and I can't say I've ever done a loop in the air." Giggling again, she wanted to try it now... She was an adventurous soquili and she loved trying new things.
"Yeah! You should tie it up and it wouldn't bother you anymore when you flew. But you might have too much hair anyway!" She couldn't help but laugh again thinking about how his hair could still fly in his face if it was tied up.
"Our names are similar. Coincidences." She smiled again and perked up when he ask her about her race. "Oh." She paused and thought about him. "No, I'm not. My father is wind/unicorn and my mother was a flutter/unicorn. I'm really... not sure what that makes me but yeah. I'm definitely not a pure flutter." That's good though... that he wasn't going to discriminate against her or something.

'How come you don't fly very often?' Wisp answered, puzzled, a line appearing on his forehead as his face took on a frown. He couldn't imagine not being able to fly - the sheer joy of how free it made him feel to flit above the flowers was something that he would not give up for anything.
'Well, that I already know, but as it was a gift from both my mother and my father I still wear it with pride.' he chuckled as he added. 'Even if it becomes a nuisance sometimes.'
He listened with a tilted head, and thought for a moment before answering; 'You're a flutter-in-the-wind-corn.' he laughed. 'You have a very interesting background, and you can relate to many others in that way. Besides, you have that sharp horn, and you're the first I've seen with one like that.'

Smiling, Spook shrugged at his question. "You could say that I have some fears about going too high. But it's not a big deal because I do fly once in awhile or when I need to get somewhere fast." She liked the feeling of the wind in her mane but there was just something about the height...
"I think both of my parents have wings but they have different kinds. My mother has wings like mine and then my father has these large, feathery wings."
She giggled at the word. That sounded silly but that really was what she was. "Thank you." Grinning at him happily, Spook figured that this stallion was pretty nice. From what she had seen, she was enjoying this conversation since she didn't get out too much anyway.

He nodded his head as he listened..it was the first he'd heard of their kind having a problem with being high off the ground, but everyone had one fear or the other and he wouldn't make fun of that.
'You should just have a flight with me, I only really buzz over the top of the flower heads. It's fun...but not good if you're allergic to the pollen as I often get covered in it.' he laughed.
'Feathered wings like the birds?' Wisp asked. He'd heard of those kind of winged Soquili, but had yet to meet one.

Spook was a little strange sometimes and she knew that. "Yeah, it's a little weird." Giggling softly, she knew that someday she would try and overcome her fears.
"Ooh. That would be nice. It's always fun to have company with you. Hehe. That's just like what butterflies do. They get covered with pollen and spread it to other flowers." Spook had a soft spot for butterflies because they were so... innocent and pure. They played such a huge role in the ecosystem and she appreciated that.
Nodding at his question, Spook always wondered why her father had different wings then her. "Yeeah. He has a large wing span and he flies like a bird. It's quite funny because my mother looks so tiny compared to him." She paused and then asked, "What about your parents? Do they both have butterfly wings?"

'Everyone has fears,' he reassured her, smiling with it. 'It's just how you deal with them that counts. I hope you will join me one day, but no pressure.'
Wisp nodded; 'They play a huge part in making this land as beautiful and green as it is, along with the other pollen spreading insects. And of course, we play our part as well.' he looked fondly around him, at the bobbing heads of the flowers and grasses.
He grinned as he looked back at Spook, that was an amusing mental picture. 'Yes, both my parents are flutters. Most of my colouring comes from my father though, my mother is golden and white.'

Nodding, Spook felt sort of reassured by his smile and made her realize that she could probably overcome her fears in the future if she really wanted to. There was a part of her that really had the urge to fly again... "That would be fun..." She contemplated the thought and grinned in response to him.
"Yees." The mare giggled happily. "That's nice." Spook spaced a little and couldn't help but admire his beautiful coat and mane. "My father is black with rainbow markings and my mother is a mixture of gold and every other pastel color. I guess I take after both of them." It was clear that Spook admired her parents a lot. She had grown up watching their love and how they brought their families together. Spook had a rather... extensive family.
"So do you have a small or large family?" She questioned him curiously hoping that she wasn't prying too much.

'You're a pretty sum of their combined looks,' Wisp said. He'd already mentally commented on how striking her eyes and horn were - her pelt was a lovely colour as well, very dusky and subtle.
'It's pretty small that I know of, me, my mother and father, two brothers. I think my father has more family but I've not yet met them. It's not a very rambling family tree as far as I am aware. You?'
Wisp wasn't a particularly private person so long as it wasn't intensely personal questions, he was mostly an open book.

Giggling, Spook was somewhat charmed by this soquili. She didn't even know why because they had probably been talking for a few moments. He was one of the most beautiful soquili she had ever seen.
"Ooh. A family full of stallions? That's interesting." Grinning, she paused to think about her own family before answering. "Well, I have a very... large family. With my mother and father being together, they brought together two very extensive families especially my mother's side. My immediate siblings consist of one sister and one brother. And then... my aunts and uncles span out far and same with my cousins."
Tossing her mane, Spook loved her family a lot. Even though she didn't get to see them that often, she knew they would always be there for her.
